Abstract

The paper examines how Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) can adapt its features to fulfill the demands of Education 5.0 in terms of the integration of technology, collaboration, and real-life skills in English language teaching. A narrative literature review on relevant research related to CLT was carried out, along with an analysis with regard to the agreement of principles with Education 5.0. While interaction and learner's autonomy remain some of the key concerns of CLT, its modifications in forms of infusion of the digital tool along with culturally responsive strategies have become necessary. These are identified at the heart of most barriers to full integration: teacher training, access to technology, and curriculum development. The framework, on the other hand, proposes ongoing professional development, improvement in access to the digital resources, and a focus on a learner-centered environment. The paper underlines the potential of CLT in shaping the future of teaching English and further calls for more empirical studies assessing its effectiveness as a theory in contemporary educational contexts.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as the defining technological force of the twenty-first century, fundamentally transforming industries, reshaping scientific inquiry, and reconfiguring the boundaries of what machines can accomplish. This paper presents a comprehensive quantitative and qualitative review of AI's most recent advances, covering key paradigms including Natural Language Processing (NLP), deep learning, computer vision, reinforcement learning, generative AI, and federated learning. Methodologically, this study adopts a structured narrative review: 48 peer-reviewed articles and authoritative technical reports published between 2019 and 2024 were retrieved from Scopus, IEEE Xplore, Web of Science, the ACL Anthology, and arXiv, and then screened and synthesized thematically across six AI paradigms. A systematic analysis of benchmark performance data across leading AI models, including GPT-4, Gemini Ultra, and AlphaFold 2, demonstrates measurable progress in accuracy, efficiency, and versatility. This study further maps the critical challenges impeding AI's responsible deployment of AI: data bias, computational cost, lack of explainability, adversarial vulnerabilities, and regulatory fragmentation. Drawing on evidence from recent peer-reviewed literature and industry reports, we propose a structured roadmap for future research directions, including Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), Explainable AI (XAI), Green AI, quantum machine learning, and human-AI collaboration frameworks. Our analysis underscores the urgent need for interdisciplinary research, ethical governance, and sustainable AI design principles to ensure that AI development aligns with the long-term values and societal goals of humanity.

Abstract

Being in disaster-risk areas frequently affected by floods, landslides, and climate change, schools increasingly seek age-appropriate ways to introduce environmental awareness while sustaining meaningful early English exposure. However, early-grade EFL classrooms often have limited resources to integrate eco-centric themes into instruction. This study aimed to establish expert-based validity evidence for an interactive eco-themed e-storybook series designed for Indonesian Grade 1 EFL learners. Using a two-round modified Delphi approach, 12 experts (teachers, language specialists, and multimedia specialists) evaluated the series through structured questionnaires and open-ended feedback, followed by targeted revisions after Round 1. Quantitative judgments were analyzed using content-validity indices (I-CVI and S-CVI/Ave) and Aiken’s V to estimate item relevance and agreement, while qualitative comments were analyzed thematically to identify revision priorities. After revision, expert judgments converged, indicating that the series is linguistically accessible for beginners, pedagogically feasible for routine-based classroom use, ecologically interpretable through child-friendly actions, and multimodally coherent when audio and interactive features remain purposeful. Qualitative feedback prioritized stronger text–image alignment for key expressions, simplified page layouts to minimize overload, improved replay and accessible glossary supports, and child-safety safeguards (e.g., ad-free, break reminder). Overall, the findings support the series as a validated instructional resource oriented to integrating early EFL learning with eco-literacy meanings.
