Abstract

Abstract: A good quality of life in COVID-19 patients is very necessary to ensure that patients are able to obtain the best health status and maintain optimal physical function or abilities. One way to improve the patient's quality of life is by providing good family support. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and the quality of life of COVID-19 patients. This study used a cross-sectional design. Sampling used a total sampling technique with a sample size of 36 respondents. Data collection used a questionnaire. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis in the form of the chi-square test. Univariate analysis obtained showed that the majority of COVID-19 patients who were treated in inpatient rooms did not receive enough family support, namely 52.8% (19 respondents) and the quality of life of most COVID-19 patients was in the poor category, namely 58.3% (21 respondents). . The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between family support and the quality of life of COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment in the inpatient room at Mitra Keluarga Cibubur Hospital (p=0.021). It is hoped that families can provide support and motivation to COVID-19 patients while still complying with the health protocols implemented at the hospital Keywords: Covid 19, Family Support, Quality of Life

Abstract

The presence of nurses as human resources is a valuable asset for the sustainability of the hospital, which needs attention so they can work optimally. An initial survey at RS Bethesda Wonosari DIY found that very few nurses performed at a level categorized as competent according to the hospital's expectations. This research was conducted in December 2024, aiming to analyze the factors influencing nurse performance at RS Bethesda Wonosari DIY using a quantitative design and a cross-sectional approach. The respondents in this study are all 50 nurses. Primary data collection was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires that had been tested on 30 people at RS Panti Waluyo Solo. The univariate results show that the majority of respondents are female, have an Associate's degree in Nursing, are of productive age, and have less than 5 years of work experience. The lowest achievements obtained from the variables studied: work environment (73.5%), provision of new information (73%), performance bonuses for employees (46%), work for patient safety (79%), fully responsible nursing care (52.5%), completion of work according to targets (74.5%). Completion of work on time (76.5%) and communication with superiors (67.5%). The bivariate results show that the variables positively affecting nurse performance are workload (p: 0.002), work environment (p: 0.002), and career development (p: 0.005), each with a very weak influence, while the variable that does not have an effect is compensation (p: 0.173). The multivariate results indicate that workload, work environment, compensation, and career development collectively have a significant impact on nurse performance (p: 0.001), with the most influential factor being workload (β) 0.623 (p: 0.017). The recommendation from this study is that the workload of nurses needs to be balanced, fair, and evenly distributed to avoid fatigue, improve workspace layout, provide bonuses for outstanding nurses, increase responsibility in nursing care, and for management to allocate time for discussions with nurses regarding career development programs.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases are chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, heart disease, and stroke. This study aims to analyze the challenges in the referral acceptance system for elderly NCD patients within the Tangguh Doctor Program at RSUD Haji Abdoel Madjid Batoe. This qualitative research was conducted at RSUD Haji Abdoel Madjid Batoe. The informants consisted of the Acting Head of the Batang Hari District Health Office, Sub-coordinator of Primary Health Services, representatives from BPJSKesehatan Batang Hari, representatives from RSUD Haji Abdoel Madjid Batoe, representatives from Bapperida of Batang Hari Regency, elderly NCD patients, Doctors (Tangguh Doctor Team), and staff of the TPPRJ at RSUD Haji Abdoel Madjid Batoe. Data collection used document review, in-depth interviews, and FGDs. The research findings indicate that each region has 1 Tangguh Doctor Team. The funding (Money) comes from APBD. Materials include stationery, medical devices, proof sheets and visit logbooks, visit registration books, and referral sheets. There is an existing SOP (Method). The equipment (Machine) includes a vehicle, but laptops/tablets and the Integrated Referral Information System (SISRUTE) are not yet available. The target (Market) is elderly patients with NCDs. The process involves the doctor determining the need for referral, the team taking the patient to the primary health center (puskesmas), and ensuring the patient receives care. The system's output issuboptimal, impacting efficiency and effectiveness. The primary cause is the team's lack of SISRUTE integration with P-Care for printing referrals. The main recommendation is the development of SISRUTE for Tangguh Doctors. Referral acceptance to RSUD Hamba is suboptimal due to the absence of SISRUTE- P-Care integration. It is suggested to develop a digital referral application to eliminate the need for patients to visit the primary health center for referral letters. This application should be connected with P-Care BPJS and SISRUTE.

Abstract

Documentation using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) significantly improves the quality of patient medical record completion. Siloam Hospital Bangka has implemented EMR; however, several challenges have arisen in its application within the inpatient department. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing compliance with EMR documentation among nurses and midwives in the inpatient department, focusing on aspects of knowledge, motivation, supervision, and infrastructure availability. This study employs a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consists of 33 nurses and midwives in the inpatient department, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and an audit observation checklist of inpatient medical records during the period from January 15 to January 22, 2025. Fisher’s exact test and multiple logistic regression were used to determine the dominant variables influencing documentation compliance. The research results indicate a significant relationship between knowledge (p-value = 0.000; OR = 184.000) and supervision (p-value = 0.000; OR = 46.000) with nurses and midwifes compliance in documentation. However, no significant relationship was found between motivation or infrastructure availability and documentation compliance. This study concludes that documentation compliance is influenced by knowledge and supervision, with knowledge being the most dominant factor. Since documentation compliance in electronic medical records supports the quality of healthcare services at Siloam Hospital Bangka, the hospital is recommended to implement regular training programs on the use of electronic medical records.

Abstract

The Length of stay is a crucial indicator in hospital service systems. This study aims to analyze the influence of Lean Six Sigma implementation, the use of information technology, and bed capacity on the length of stay at RS Karya Medika Bantar Gebang. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a descriptive analytical design. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate tests. The univariate analysis results show that the majority of respondents are aged 20-35 years (59.00%), female (64.10%), and work as nurses (56.40%). Bivariate analysis using Pearson correlation test shows that Lean Six Sigma implementation has a strong relationship with length of stay (r = 0.855, p = 0.000), the use of information technology has a very strong relationship (r = 0.906, p = 0.000), and bed capacity also has a strong relationship (r = 0.838, p = 0.000). Multivariate analysis results using multiple linear regression indicate that Lean Six Sigma implementation (β = 1.583, p = 0.000) and the use of information technology (β = 0.954, p = 0.043) significantly affect the length of stay, while bed capacity (β = 0.505, p = 0.243) does not have a significant effect. The regression model used has an R value of 0.944 and an R Square value of 0.892, indicating that 89.2% of variations in length of stay can be explained by the three independent variables. The conclusion of this study is that Lean Six Sigma implementation and the use of information technology significantly contribute to reducing the length of stay, while bed capacity does not have a direct impact. Therefore, hospitals are advised to further optimize the implementation of Lean Six Sigma and information technology to improve service efficiency.
