Abstract

Pondok pesantren are increasingly paying attention to environmental issues, sustainability, and the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as striving to provide life skills for students (Santri) through training and self-development activities. This article explains the impact of utilizing a mini greenhouse to improve students’ agricultural skills through a community service program at Pondok Pesantren Al Asror Semarang, targeting 15 students. The activities were carried out over five months (May to September 2025) in the form of training and assistance in using the mini greenhouse. The training introduced the mini greenhouse and its benefits, after which the students worked together to prepare and build it within the pondok pesantren environment. The next activities included plant cultivation, starting from seed sowing, planting, and caring for the plants until harvest time, under the guidance and supervision of the community service team. The students were highly enthusiastic and motivated to make use of the mini greenhouse, and they received support from the pondok pesantren leaders to enhance their life skills. The students then continued using the mini greenhouse for organic vegetable cultivation, starting from sowing to harvest time.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of technology use, family support, and visual learning styles on the digital literacy skills of students at Universitas Negeri Semarang. The type of research employed in this study is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The research design used is a survey design. The population in this study comprises all students of Universitas Negeri Semarang. The sampling technique used is probability sampling. The subjects of this study are students of Universitas Negeri Semarang. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires using a Likert scale. This research utilizes causal quantitative data, which are measurable and expressed in numerical form.. The results of the coefficient of determination test show an R² value of 0.627, indicating that technology use, family support, and learning style collectively influence students’ digital literacy skills by 62.7%. Theremaining 37.3% is explained by other factors not included in this research model. Based on the t-test, the first hypothesis has a probability value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that technology use has a positive and significant effect on students’ digital literacy skills. The second hypothesis has a probability value of 0.044 < 0.05, suggesting that family support also has a positive and significant effect on digital literacy skills. The third hypothesis shows a probability value of 0.001 > 0.05, which confirms that visual learning style has a positive and significant effect on digital literacy skills. The fourth hypothesis has a probability value of <0.001, which is far below 0.05, indicating that all independent variables collectively have a significant effect on the dependent variable. Future researchers are encouraged to expand the research model by incorporating mediating or moderating variables to develop a more complex framework and produce more comprehensive findings.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of work–life conflict and time pressure on turnover intention among Generation Z employees in Semarang, with off-the-job embeddedness as a moderating variable. Data were collected from 200 respondents through a questionnaire and analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that both work–life conflict and time pressure significantly and positively influence turnover intention, with time pressure emerging as the strongest predictor. However, off-the-job embeddedness shows no significant direct or moderating effect. The model’s R-square value of 0.459 suggests that 45.9% of the variance in turnover intention is explained. Abstract

This study empirically examines the quality of indicators forming the Public Satisfaction Index (IKM) based on Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Regulation No. 14 of 2017 in population administration services at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Brebes Regency. The study is motivated by the discrepancy between official IKM scores, which remain in the good category, and citizens’ continuing complaints about queues, service completion time, facilities, and information transparency. Using a confirmatory quantitative design, data were collected through a seven-point semantic differential questionnaire administered to 250 service users. Confirmatory Composite Analysis (CCA) within a structural equation modeling framework was employed to assess item validity, internal reliability, convergent validity, discriminant validity, and model fit. The results show that all 27 items had valid item-total correlations, ranging from 0.226 to 0.865. Most dimensions met reliability requirements, but the cost/fee dimension consistently exhibited measurement weakness, as indicated by Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.494, CR of 0.6116, and failure to meet discriminant validity against implementer behavior. Model fit indices also indicate partial support: GoF = 0.8516, Mean AVE = 0.7252, Mean CR = 0.8812, and Mean Loading = 0.8449 met the criteria, whereas SRMR = 0.1303 and NFI = 0.8516 did not reach ideal fit. Therefore, the IKM instrument can be used in a limited manner for public service evaluation, but the cost/fee indicators require revision to better capture the specific characteristics of free population administration services. This study contributes by demonstrating that CCA can evaluate the psychometric structure of IKM, identify weak indicators, and support evidence-based public service improvement.
