Abstract

Training on Implementing the Independent Curriculum for working groups of elementary school teachers throughout Kuok District aims to increase teacher competency and readiness in implementing this new curriculum. This training was carried out using offline and online methods, involving 26 participants from various elementary schools. Implementation of activities includes preparation, implementation and evaluation stages, with the core activities being the delivery of interactive material, simulation practice and final evaluation. The results of the training showed a significant increase in teachers' understanding and skills regarding the Independent Curriculum. Teachers are able to develop innovative teaching modules and design effective learning processes. Positive evaluations and feedback from participants confirm the success of this training. To overcome obstacles, several solutions and innovations were proposed, including the use of information technology and regular assistance. It is hoped that this training can contribute to improving the quality of education in Kuok District, support the sustainable implementation of the Independent Curriculum, and create a young generation that is competent in facing global challenges.

Abstract

Learning to read or reply to rhymes is very important for high school students. Apart from practicing literary skills, reading rhymes can also train students' mental abilities to perform in front of many people. Apart from that, reading rhymes can also build students' character and personality because rhymes contain many messages and moral values. Difficulty reading rhymes often occurs in high school environments. Many teachers complain when their students are reluctant to respond to rhymes. This happens because students have not had the experience of learning to read rhymes correctly. This kind of learning needs to be improved, so it is necessary to hold rhyme reading training for high school students which can be done by practicing correct pronunciation, tone, stress, intonation, appreciation and expression. The problem with this activity is how to improve the knowledge and skills of responding to rhymes in Class XII students at SMA Negeri 2 Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency? The aim of this community service activity is to provide knowledge and practice of reading or responding to rhymes appropriately according to good and correct techniques. The community service method uses lecture and experimental methods. The resource person explains the theory about rhymes and how to read or reply to rhymes well. The rhyme used is the opening the door rhyme or escorting the bride and groom. Based on the success criteria, students of SMA Negeri 2 Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency were able to respond to rhymes after the training was completed. This was shown by the students' enthusiasm when the community service team asked them to read a poem again in front of the class. They have been able to pronounce, give intonation, chop up words, and express them correctly. Thus, this training activity can be said to have been successful. After the training was carried out, participants were given a partner satisfaction questionnaire regarding PKM activities for Class XII Students of SMA Negeri 2 Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency. The questionnaire was used to determine participants' knowledge after the training was given.

Abstract

The anthology of poetry Looking for a Mosque, editors Husnu Abadi and Nopri Ahadi contains 24 titles of poems by well-known Indonesian authors. This work was published as material for a poetry reading competition in commemoration of Islamic Holidays. That is why this anthology of poetry contains many religious themes and Sufistic values. The problem studied is how are the Sufistic values ​​contained in the anthology of the poem Looking for a Mosque? This study uses descriptive analysis and content analysis methods. The results of the study found Sufistic values ​​related to the rituals or worship of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, mosques, and the Hajj. Poems about Ramadan worship were embroidered by poets in the poem Malam Qadar by Idrus Tintin, Night of a Thousand Months by Husnu Abadi. Furthermore, Sutardji Calzoum Bachri's Eid-ul-Fitr poem clearly explains about the worship of Ramadan and its night worship and almsgiving can lead one to become His pious servant. The Sufistic value of worship is to draw the servant closer to God, namely Allah SWT (hal taqarrub ilallah). In addition, there are also mystical values ​​related to repenting to God and the low position of servants in front of God Almighty. This anthology of poetry contains maqam wara and maqam zuhud which means the servant's closeness to His Creator because of his special worship and his simple and sincere way of life.

Abstract

This research uses the transitivity model to analyze how students express their ideas in expository text. This research is based on Halliday's Systemic Functional Grammar. The transitivity system is used as a basis for analyzing data. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study research model. Data collection is carried out by means of data formation, data reduction, drawing inferences, and analysis. Three stages were carried out to analyze the data, namely isolating the process, determining the type of process, and verifying the impact, who was involved in the process. This research applies interpretive content analysis to investigate the function of linguistic choices made in the text. There are 845 clauses in the exposition text which are used for analysis. The clauses are broken down into their constituent parts, the processes are identified, coded and categorized, and their roles are defined. This study found that among the main process types, material processes dominate speech with a total occurrence of 57.14%, while the existential process type is used minimally in speech with a total occurrence of 1,2%. This research concludes that language structures can produce hidden meanings for readers. This strengthens the assumption that language forms do not arise by chance, but rather have a communicative function.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi dan data tentang kemampuan dan pembelajaran siswa di SMA Negeri 2 Dumai. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 2 Dumai berjumlah 36 orang, ditambah dengan 1 orang guru Bahasa Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teori yang dipakai adalah teori atau pendapat Suroto (1990), Pratiwi (2014), Mariana (2009), dan Yusana (2013). Teknik yang dipakai adalah teknik tes dan wawancara. Memahami unsur intrinsik drama sebagai bagian sastra merupakan salah satu kompetensi dasar yang harus dipelajari di tingkat SMA Negeri 2 Dumai kelas XII MIPA 5. Melalui pembelajaran ini, siswa diharapkan mampu memahami unsur intrinsik drama dari pementasan drama tersebut. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan bahwa tes kemampuan siswa dengan nilai rata-rata 91,54% berkategori sangat baik. Sedangkan pembelajarannya berkaitan dengan perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi berkategori sangat baik.

Abstract

The Malay mantra in Talau Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency, which incorporates stylistic characteristics and the beauty of the language, serves as the inspiration for this study. These components include both figurative language and acoustic components. The study's issues are as follows: (1) How effective is Talau Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency's abstention from childbearing mantra? (2) How does Talau Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency's slogan of abstinence from childbirth use metaphorical language?. The aim of this research is to describe, analyze, and draw conclusions about the sound component of the abstinence from childbirth mantra in Talau Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency, as well as the figurative language used in this mantra. This study mantra is based on the hypotheses of Pradopo (2012), Nurgiyantoro (2014), and other corroborating theories. The research's data are in the form of figurative language, which includes linking figures of speech (metonymy and synecdoche) and comparing figures of speech (metaphor, personification, allegory, and simile), as well as sound elements, which include rhyme, rhythm, tone, and atmosphere. This study takes a qualitative approach and employs a descriptive analytic method with a field research design. Techniques for gathering data include interviews, documenting, and recording. The results of this study can be concluded that there are stylistic elements in the mantra of abstaining from giving birth in Talau Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, namely the sound aspect in rhyme totaling 81 words, rhythm totaling 191 words, tone and atmosphere totaling 145 words and figurative language/figurative language in personification figures of speech totaling 1 data, synecdoche figures of speech totaling 1 data, and metaphor figures of speech totaling 4 data. Examples of sound aspects of rhyme at the end with an a-b-a-b pattern in the mantra of fresh flour after the burial of the placenta, in rhythm, it contains euphonic rhythm which when read quickly with low tone pressure in the mantra for a breech baby, in tone and atmosphere there is an atmosphere of self-confidence of the village midwife contained in the mantra of strengthening the baby's umbilical cord and an example of figurative language of metaphor in the sacred lime mantra.

Abstract

Literary works appear as a form of reflection of people's lives and the feelings expressed by interacting with life. The language used by the author has a certain meaning. Language in the form of signs is interesting to study semiotically. Semiotics is the science that studies signs which have three aspects, namely the icon, index and symbol aspects. The novel Silent Than a Whisper by Andina Dwifatma tells the story of Amara and the baron having a child. The problems of this research are (1) What is the semiotic aspect of the icon contained in the Novel More Silent Than a Whisper by Andina Dwifatma?, (2) What is the semiotic aspect of the index contained in the Novel More Silent Than a Whisper by Andina Dwifatma?, (3) What is the symbolic aspect contained in the novel Silent Than a Whisper by Andina Dwifatma?. The aim of this research is to describe, analyze and conclude data on icons, indexes and symbols in the Novel Silent Than a Whisper by Andina Dwifatma. This research uses a qualitative approach. The research method uses descriptive methods. The data collection technique used is the hermeneutic technique. The data analysis technique uses content study. The data validity technique uses triangulation techniques. The theory used is Pradopo's theory (2017). The results of this research are that the icon for the entire Novel Silent Than a Whisper by Andina Dwifatma is 37 data, the index for the entire Novel Silent Than a Whisper by Andina Dwifatma is 14 data. There are 33 symbols for the entire novel Silent Than a Whisper by Andina Dwifatma. The results of this research are that the author found the existence of icons, indexes and symbols. The most dominant aspect in this novel is symbols. The reason this aspect is more dominant is because symbols are related to culture.

This kind of learning needs to be addressed, so it is necessary to hold a rhyme reading training for high school students which can be done by practicing proper pronunciation, tone, stress, intonation, appreciation, and expression. The problem of this activity is how to improve the knowledge and skills of rhyming students of Class IX SMP Negeri 6 Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency? The purpose of this community service activity is to provide knowledge and practice of reading or replying to rhymes in accordance with good and correct techniques. The method of community service uses lecture and experimental methods. The speaker explains the theory of rhymes and how to read or reply to good rhymes. The rhymes used are Syair Nasehat author Tenas Effendy. Based on the success criteria, SMP Negeri 6 Siak Hulu students in Kampar Regency have been able to recite rhymes, after the training was completed. This was shown by the students' enthusiasm when the community service team asked them to recite a poem in front of the class. They have been able to pronounce, intonate, cut words, and express them appropriately. Thus, this training activity can be said to be successful. After the training was conducted, participants were given a questionnaire on partner satisfaction with PKM activities for Class IX SMP Negeri 6 Siak Hulu, Kampar Regency. The questionnaire was used to determine the participants' knowledge after the training was given.

Abstract

Junior High School students must have the ability to write effective sentences. However, students' low ability to construct sentences that are in accordance with Indonesian language rules is often an obstacle in the learning process. Therefore, effective sentence writing training is intended as a form of community service and to improve students' literacy skills. This training uses an interactive approach to provide an understanding of basic concepts, group discussions to improve understanding, and direct writing practice. This is done with the aim of applying theory to written work. Activities are carried out in stages, starting with an explanation of effective sentence structures, finding common errors, and students revising their own work with guidance. The results of the training showed that students were better at writing sentences that were in accordance with the principles of clarity, accuracy, and unity of ideas. Students were also more confident in writing and understood the importance of good sentence structure for written communication. It is hoped that this training will have a positive impact in the long term on improving the literacy skills of junior high school students. In conclusion, this training contributes to improving student literacy, which is expected to have a positive impact on students' overall academic abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to explore taboos and prohibitions in traditional Malay poetry that embody Islamic educational values. The traditional poetry analyzed includes gurindam, pantun, poetry, and expressions that were once integral to daily life but have now become increasingly rare. The Islamic educational values examined in this study encompass aspects of faith (aqidah), acts of worship (ibadah), and commendable conduct (akhlaq). This research employs both qualitative and quantitative approaches, utilizing a problem-solving methodology that includes literature review, content analysis, and comparative analysis. Data were collected from gurindam manuscripts, pantun, poetry, and Malay expressions that align with the teachings of the Quran, supported by the translation and interpretation of Ibn Kathir. The analytical process involves investigating and documenting relevant Quranic verses and Hadith that reinforce taboos and prohibitions found in traditional poetry, followed by formulating research findings. The study identifies the following key findings: (a) The Islamic educational values related to faith include: (1) The prohibition against associating partners with God (shirk) in Malay culture; (2) The prohibition against apostasy (riddah) among Malays. (b) The Islamic educational values related to acts of worship include: (1) The prohibition against neglecting prayer (salah); (2) The prohibition against neglecting fasting (sawm); (3) The prohibition against neglecting almsgiving (zakat); (4) The prohibition against neglecting the Hajj pilgrimage. (c) The Islamic educational values related to morality (akhlaq), specifically the prohibition against engaging in sinful or immoral acts. The findings of this study have implications for Malay Literature courses, where students will be introduced to taboos and prohibitions embedded in Malay culture. These values will be disseminated through interactive videos and digital media promotions. The utilization of digital platforms is expected to bridge the generational gap, fostering greater interest among younger generations in understanding and contributing to the preservation of this cultural heritage.Penelitian ini merupakan upaya investigasi pantang larang dalam puisi tradisional Melayu bermuatan nilai pendidikan Islam. Puisi tradisional yang ditelaah meliputi gurindam, pantun, syair, dan ungkapan yang dulunya selalu digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, sekarang jarang sekali terdengar di telinga. Muatan pendidikan Islam yang dimaksud dalam kajian ini merujuk pada keimanan, amal ibadah dan perbuatan terpuji. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan pendekatan pemecahan masalah yaitu tinjauan pustaka, analisis isi, analisis komparatif. Data yang dikumpulkan dari buku-buku gurindam, pantun, syair, dan ungkapan Melayu yang diduga sejalan dengan ayat alquran beserta terjemah serta tafsir Ibnu Katsir. Langkah analisis meliputi Menyelidiki dan mendokumentasikan mengutip ayat Alquran dan Hadis yang mendukung pantang larang dalam puisi tradisional serta merumuskan hasil penelitian. Hasil kajian yang ditemukan adalah (a) Nilai pendidikan Islam terkait akidah meliputi (1) Orang Melayu dilarang menyekutukan Tuhan; (b) Orang Melayu dilarang murtad; (b) Nilai pendidikan Islam terkait ibadah meliputi (1) Orang Melayu dilarang meninggalkan prayer, (2) Orang Melayu dilarang meninggalkan puasa, (3) Orang Melayu dilarang meninggalkan zakat, dan (4) Orang Melayu dilarang meninggalkan haji; (c) Nilai pendidikan Islam terkait Akhlak yaitu larangan berbuat fasik. Hasil kajian ini dapat diimplikasikan pada mata kuliah Sastra Melayu. Mahasiswa akan diajarkan tentang pantang larang dalam budaya Melayu, yang nantinya akan dipromosikan dalam bentuk video interaktif dan promosi di platform media digital. Promosi melalui Platform media digital dapat menjembatani kesenjangan antara generasi tua dan muda, serta menarik minat generasi muda dalam memahami dan turut melestarikan warisan budaya ini.
