Abstract

A country's continuous rise towards improvement over a certain period of time is the process of economic growth. The elements that make up a country's economic structure function to regulate a country's household and are referred to as the economic structure: household, business, government, economic system, input market, and output market. The economics of each of these parts is different. Input markets (for goods and services), output markets (for households, businesses, governments, and economic systems) are components of the economy. This research aims to find out how much economic growth there has been and whether there has been a change in the economic structure of Central Sulawesi Province in the 2018-2022 period. The research uses quantitative research methods, using secondary data, obtained through PDRB Data for Central Sulawesi Province. Analysis methods include Location Quontien (LQ) Analysis and Structural Checks Index (SCI) Analysis. The research findings indicate that from 2018 to 2022, Central Sulawesi Province experienced significant shifts, identifying five key sectors that dominated economic growth. The mining and quarrying sector, along with the processing industry, served as the primary drivers, while the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sectors showed important contributions despite fluctuations. The water supply and waste management sector, although its contribution was low, exhibited stable growth, and the government administration sector also positively contributed with consistent growth. Thus, it can be concluded that there has been a structural change in the economy of Central Sulawesi over this five-year period. The secondary sector has emerged as a driving force behind the economic structural changes in the region, as indicated by an increase in the Sectoral Contribution Index (SCI) year by year, despite declines in the primary and tertiary sectors. This change reflects a shift in resource allocation increasingly directed toward the secondary sector as the main pillar of the regional economy.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the partial and simultaneous effects of unemployment, education, and poverty on divorce rates in Gorontalo Province. Using an associative quantitative approach, the research analyzes seven years of secondary time-series data (2018–2024) obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Gorontalo Province. The study applies panel data regression to evaluate relationships among variables. The findings show that unemployment significantly influences divorce rates, indicating that higher unemployment is associated with a greater likelihood of divorce. Education level has a significant negative effect, meaning higher educational attainment tends to reduce divorce occurrences. Poverty demonstrates a significant positive effect, suggesting increased poverty elevates divorce risk. Simultaneously, unemployment, education, and poverty jointly exert a significant influence on divorce rates, confirming that divorce represents a multidimensional social phenomenon shaped by interacting economic and social conditions over time. These results highlight the importance of integrated policy interventions, including employment expansion, educational improvement, and poverty alleviation programs, to reduce family instability. Future research is recommended to incorporate cultural and psychological variables to better understand regional variations in marital dissolution.

Abstract

Economic growth is understood as a continuous process towards better economic conditions, reflected in increasing output per capita in the long term and is known as part of the concept of *Modern Economic Growth*. This study uses a quantitative approach with an associative-causal design to examine the effect of education, health, electricity, and water infrastructure on economic growth in Eastern Indonesia. Secondary data were obtained from BPS, including indicators of education, health, Susenas, and GRDP ADHK in 13 provinces during the 2020–2023 period. The analysis was conducted through panel data regression using Stata software, with the model selection stage through the Chow and Hausman tests to obtain a Fixed Effect Model with cluster-robust standard errors as the best model. The estimation results show high explanatory power with an R² value of 0.72 and a significant F test, so that all independent variables simultaneously affect economic growth. Partially, education and health infrastructure have negative and insignificant coefficients, indicating that the benefits of both are more long-term and are influenced by the quality of graduates, job market compatibility, and increased labor productivity. Electricity infrastructure shows a significant positive impact at the 10 percent level, although it remains limited due to the dominance of the primary sector and small-scale businesses. Meanwhile, drinking water infrastructure is considered the strongest variable, with a significant positive impact at the 5 percent level, due to its ability to improve public health, reduce household time and costs, and directly boost productivity and economic activity.

Abstract

Fiscal policy plays a strategic role in promoting economic stability and poverty reduction in agriculture, yet rising Farmers’ Terms of Trade do not always translate into lower farmer poverty. This study contributes by clarifying this paradox and assessing whether fiscal policy effectively improves farmers’ welfare outcomes. This study aims to examine the progressivity of NTP and to analyze the extent to which NTP mediates the impact of agricultural fiscal policy on poverty reduction, given that poverty rates are predominantly concentrated among farming communities. The data used in this research is panel data comprising six districts/cities in Gorontalo Province over a ten-year period from 2015 to 2024. The data analysis methods employed include descriptive analysis and panel data path analysis. Before conducting the path analysis, the data were transformed using natural logarithms and standardized values to ensure that the beta coefficients from the equations could be used as path coefficients. The findings reveal that: (1) The progress of NTP in Gorontalo Province tends to remain above 100%, which indicates that farmers benefit from their farming activities. However, this figure does not necessarily represent that farmers are economically prosperous, as the surplus (profit/income) between farming revenue and farming costs often remains insufficient compared to the poverty line. This results in the phenomenon of high NTP values alongside persistent and significant levels of poverty. (2) The General Allocation Fund (DAU) has a positive but insignificant effect on NTP in Gorontalo Province. The Special Allocation Fund (DAK) also has a positive but insignificant effect on NTP. Similarly, NTP has a negative but insignificant effect on poverty levels in the province. Both DAU and DAK exhibit negative but insignificant direct effects on poverty. Furthermore, the indirect effects of DAU and DAK on poverty through NTP are also negative but statistically insignificant.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) Determine the impact of the development of Moian Beach tourism object on increasing local community income; (2) Formulate development strategies for Moian Beach tourism based on SWOT Analysis in order to establish it as a sustainable tourism destination; and (3) Identify obstacles and issues in the development of beach tourism and formulate appropriate solutions.. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with a simple quantitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and distributing questionnaires to respondents consisting of managers/BUMDes, local communities, and tourists. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive analysis methods, IFAS-EFAS matrix analysis, as well as SWOT and TOWS analysis. The results show that: An income increase of 34.8% indicates that the management of Moian Beach tourism by BUMDes has provided a positive economic impact on the local community. Furthermore, there is a multiplier effect mechanism, where the circulation of money is not only enjoyed by managers but also impacts the income increase of traders, service providers, and the wider community. Based on the calculation results, the IFAS matrix obtained a score of 2.88 and the EFAS matrix obtained a score of 2.81. These results place Moian Beach in Quadrant I on the strategic map, meaning it is in a very advantageous position with strong internal strengths supported by great external opportunities. The most appropriate strategy to implement is an Aggressive Strategy (Growth Strategy), which is to maximize existing strengths to seize market opportunities, carry out development expansion, and expand promotion. However, several obstacles were found in the implementation, such as limited infrastructure, less professional human resource capacity, and profit-sharing management that has not been fully equitable. Therefore, the concept of sustainable tourism is very important to be applied to balance economic aspects, socio-cultural aspects, and environmental preservation. The conclusion of this study suggests improvements to management, enhancement of facilities, and the establishment of firm village regulations so that economic benefits can be felt fairly and sustainably by the present and future generations.
