Abstract

Unintended pregnancies and associated emotional issues can negatively affect expectant mothers, potentially harming both them and their babies. This study focuses on the significance of forgiveness as an intervention for healing emotional wounds, enhancing self-acceptance, and improving overall well-being and relationships among mothers. It assesses forgiveness's impact on the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual health of mothers throughout their lives, bolstering their resilience. A narrative review of evidence on forgiveness in the context of unwanted teenage pregnancies was conducted from January 2016 to January 2019, including PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane, EBSCO, PubMed, UpToDate, and Clinical Key. Out of 995 studies, 14 articles were selected, primarily emphasizing forgiveness therapy for adolescent bullying and social issues. Although research on forgiveness in unwanted pregnancies was limited and had methodological limitations, early interventions are crucial to safeguard pregnant women's physical and mental health during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Further research with improved methodology is needed to comprehensively understand forgiveness's impact and enhance support for pregnant women

Abstract

Kilemo (Litsea cubeba (Lour.) Pers.), a forest tree species of the Lauraceae family, is naturally distributed in China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia, including Indonesia. This species is valued for its high-quality essential oils and its potential applications in the biopharmaceutical and chemical industries. However, the semi-recalcitrant nature of kilemo seeds presents challenges in storage and germination, necessitating research to optimize seed quality and propagation methods. This study aims to evaluate the physical and physiological qualities of kilemo seeds sourced from highland regions in West Java and North Sumatra and to determine the best pretreatment methods to enhance germination performance. Seed samples were collected from Ciwidey, Mount Papandayan (West Java), and Aek Nauli (North Sumatra). The study assessed seed moisture content, purity, 1,000-seed weight, and seed viability. Different soaking treatments (plain water, boron solutions, KNO3 solutions, and coconut water) were applied, followed by germination tests under two sowing conditions: open seedbeds and plastic-covered seedbeds. The results indicate that kilemo seeds exhibit moisture content ranging from 13.01% to 14.68%, purity above 96.77%, and a weight of 1,000 seeds varying from 21.36 to 27.86 g. Germination trials revealed that seeds soaked in 100% coconut water for 3 or 6 hours exhibited the highest germination percentages and vigor, particularly in an open seedbed condition. These findings suggest that coconut water pretreatment enhances seed germination and viability, offering an effective method for improving the propagation success of kilemo. The study provides valuable insights into optimizing seed handling techniques to support the conservation and commercial cultivation of this species.

Abstract

The perception of health cadres towards cadre schools significantly impacts the satisfaction level of health cadres. Training and maintenance of health cadres are important factors in improving their performance and satisfaction. Cadre training can also enhance communication skills and satisfaction with their role as cadres. This study aims to explore and understand the relationship between health cadres' perception of cadre schools and the level of satisfaction among health cadres in Dusun Soka Seloharjo Pundong Bantul. This study utilizes a Cross-Sectional design, and for bivariate analysis, Pearson Correlation is employed to determine the relationship between health cadres' perception of cadre schools and the level of satisfaction among health cadres. The research was conducted from January to February 2024. The results indicate a significant relationship between health cadres' perception of cadre schools and the level of satisfaction among health cadres. Data analysis reveals a strong positive relationship between health cadres' perception of cadre schools and their satisfaction level. Health cadres with positive perceptions of cadre schools tend to have higher satisfaction levels with the training programs they receive. Several factors from health cadres' perceptions of cadre schools that significantly impact their satisfaction levels have been identified. Positive perceptions of health cadres towards cadre schools are closely related to their satisfaction level with the training programs received. Health cadres with positive perceptions tend to be more satisfied with these programs.

Abstract

Dental caries is the most common health problem among toddlers, with a high prevalence in various regions, including Indonesia. The main risk factors contributing to caries in toddlers include unhealthy diets, poor oral hygiene habits, and a lack of parental knowledge about children's dental care. This issue can significantly affect the quality of life and overall health of toddlers. This study utilized a descriptive observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of toddlers aged 0-5 years who visited Posyandu and Puskesmas Pundong from August 2023 to August 2024. Data were collected through clinical examinations to assess the incidence of caries and oral hygiene, as well as structured interviews with parents regarding risk factors such as diet, brushing habits, and fluoride use. Descriptive and correlational statistical analyses were used to identify relationships between risk factors and dental health conditions. The study found that 51% of toddlers experienced dental caries, with poor oral hygiene observed in 29% of them. A total of 44% of toddlers were at high risk of developing cavities. A positive correlation was found between age and the number of caries, as well as a relationship between inadequate brushing habits and high rates of caries. The main risk factors contributing to caries were high sugar consumption and infrequent tooth brushing. The prevalence of dental caries among toddlers in the Puskesmas Pundong area is notably high, with risk factors influenced by diet, oral hygiene, and parental knowledge. Early preventive interventions through parental education, regular dental visits, fluoride use, and dietary changes are needed to reduce the risk of dental caries in toddlers. A collaborative approach between healthcare professionals and parents is essential to improve toddlers' overall dental health
