Abstract

Antioxidants are compounds that can inhibit oxidation reactions by binding to free radicals and highly reactive molecules. Bintangur contains saponins, tannins, flavonoids and alkaloids. In the presence of flavonoids, the purpose of this study is to understand the antioxidant activity of ethanol extracts against DPPH free radicals, and the IC50 parameter has the highest antioxidant activity. Use ethanol to macerate Bintangur leaf powder. Analyze the content of secondary metabolites in ethanol extracts. Use a spectrophotometer to test the antioxidant activity of the obtained extract against DPPH free radicals at a wavelength of 517 nm, and determine the IC50 value. Routine was used as a positive control in this study. The results of three repeated studies showed that the IC50 values ​​of the ethanol extract were 65.49 ppm, 65.76 ppm, and 65.76 ppm, respectively. Average IC50 value is 55.67 ppm.

Abstract

Coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19 is a pandemic that has resulted in high mortality rates in various parts of the world. Good knowledge about the COVID-19 pandemic and clean and healthy living behavior as an effort to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 is important to implement. The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge, attitudes, and actions about COVID-19 among students of the Department of Pharmacy, Poltekkes, Ministry of Health, Medan. This research method uses a descriptive survey with simple random sampling technique. The characteristics of the respondents, totaling 146 people, were obtained online with the criteria for male-female 111 people and male 34 people. For the level of knowledge, the most answered statements for positive statements were statements Strongly Agree (SS) by 70.5%, namely the statement "COVID-19 first emerged from China". Attitude level (SS) is 50% in the statement "Knowing that the spread and transmission of COVID-19 can be through the air, you try to reduce activities outside the home", and Action, positive statement (SS) is 65.1% in the statement "Efforts can be made to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 is by social distancing and implementing Health Protocols” The conclusion of this study is that the level of knowledge, attitudes, and actions of students(i) towards COVID-19 prevention, are 84,23% (good), 85.53% (good), and 83.64. % (good).

Abstract

Daun merupakan bagian tanaman yang berfungsi untuk mempertahankan kehidupan, mengingat fungsinya tersebut maka alat ini sering disebut dengan alat vegetatif, pada batasnya terdapat daun berbentuk tunggal dan tersusun dalam bentuk spiral. Daun alpukat disebut daun tidak lengkap karena hanya terdiri dari tangkai dan helaian saja, tanpa upih atau pelepah daun. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membandingkan formulasi sediaan masker peel off ekstrak daun alpukat berdasarkan studi literatur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur yaitu penelitian dengan mengumpulkan data dan fakta-fakta, data yang diperoleh dari literatur yang sesuai dengan permasalahan yang akan diteliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan dari daun dan biji alpukat seperti saponin, alkaloid, polifenol, quersetin dan flavonoid dapat berkhasiat sebagai antifungi, antijerawat dan antibakteri. Pada jurnal studi literatur pertama dapat diformulasikan sebagai masker peel off, pada jurnal kedua menggunakan berbagai variasi konsentrasi dan dari berbagai konsentrasi tersebut yang diformulasikan sebagai sediaan masker peel off yaitu pada konsentrasi 0,3% dengan daya hambat yang paling besar dan pada jurnal ketiga dengan konsentrasi 12% memiliki waktu mengering paling cepat. Dari penelitiaan ini disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak daun dan biji alpukat dapat digunakan sebagai masker anti jerawat.

Abstract

The Impact of errors in prescription incompleteness is diverse, started from those that do not provide any risk at all to the occurrence of disability or even death. The Prescription screening is useful to prevent omissions information, poor prescribing and inappropriate prescribing. The goal of this study was to screen the completeness of administration of outpatient prescriptions for social security administrator patients in regional public hospital Dr. R.M. Djoelham at Binjai City. This is a observational research with a retrospective descriptive design, and use the purposive sampling. This research was conducted at the General Hospital Pharmacy Installation Dr. R.M. Djoelham City of Binjai. This research was conducted from April-June 2021. The population of this study was the number of patient prescriptions from January 2021 to March 2021, namely 3722 prescriptions. The total sample is 98 recipes.The data analysis used is univariate data analysis. The results of the 98 recipes show the percentage of   administration of the Inscriptio reached 68.4% and was incomplete reached 31.6%, on complete Invocatio it reached 100%, on Prescriptio the complete reached 95% and the incomplete reached 5%, the Signatura complete reached 91.84% and incomplete reached 8.16%, on Subscriptio the full one reaches 100%, the complete Pro reaches 58.84% and incomplete reached 41.16%. The conclusion of this study is the percentage of complete recipes reached 67.35% while incomplete reached 32.65%. If an incomplete prescription is found, it is hoped that the pharmacy staff will confirm it with the doctor concerned. Keyword:  Pharmaceutical Installation, Prescription Completeness, Screening

Abstract

According to the International Diabetes Federation, 537 million people are currently living with diabetes. There are 316 million people with impaired glucose tolerance at high risk, an alarming number expected to reach 783 million people by 2045. Society's tendency to return to nature is a prospective condition for developing research on biodiversity-based plants. Based on the research results, tamarind leaves are rich in flavonoids, saponins, and tannins, and saffron contains the active compounds crocin, crocetin, and precision, which can be candidates for antioxidants that have a significant effect on blood glucose levels. This antidiabetic research includes research live (test animals) by measuring blood glucose levels. The results showed that tamarind leaf extract and saffron were effective as antidiabetics in male mice induced with Streptozotocin. All extract groups tested single doses of EDAJ, ES, and combination doses of EDAJ and ES ((75:25), (50:50) (25:75)) showed the potential to reduce blood sugar levels >50%. The ES group with a single dose of 100:0 showed significant effectiveness in reducing blood sugar levels from the 6th day until the end of the study. These results are then expected to provide information to the public regarding the potency, effective dose, and working mechanism of using tamarind and saffron as antidiabetics so that they can be a solution to improve the quality of life of diabetes patients, control non-communicable diseases and reduce treatment costs.  Keywords: Crocus sativus, Diabetes mellitus,  Mus musculus, Saffron, Tamarind leaf

Abstract

Inflamasi adalah usaha tubuh untuk menginaktif atau menghancurkan organisme penginvasi, menghilangkan iritan, dan persiapan tahapan untuk perbaikan jaringan, bila penyembuhan telah sempurna proses inflamasi biasanya mereda. Suruhan (Peperomia pelucida) merupakan tumbuhan yang mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder flavonoid yang berpotensi sebagai antiinflamasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji efektivitas ekstrak etanol daun suruhan sebagai antiinflamasi pada tikus putih jantan yang diinduksi putih telur 0,5ml secara intraplantar pada telapak kaki kiri tikus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimental dengan desain penelitian yang terdiri dari 5 kelompok yaitu kelompok I kontrol negatif diberikan NA-CMC 1%, kelompok II kontrol positif diberikan natrium diklofenak, kelompok III EEDS 15mg/kgbb, kelompok IV EEDS 30mg/kgbb, kelompok V EEDS 60mg/kgbb masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari tiga ekor tikus. Hasil yang di peroleh dari penelitian ini adalah Dosis Ekstrak Etanol Daun Suruhan dengan konsentrasi 15mg/kgbb, 30mg/kgbb, 60mg/kgbb yang lebih efektif untuk menurunkan volume edema telapak kaki tikus adalah konsentrasi 60mg/kgbb dibandingkan konsentrasi 15mg/kgbb dan 30mg/kgbb, dengan tingkat penyembuhan 86%. Untuk mempreloh data, peneliti ini menggunakan jangka sorong untuk mengukur volume edema telapak kaki tikus sebelum dan seteah di induksi putih telur sebanyak 0,5ml secara subplantar. Kesimpulan didapatkan bahwa Dosis Ekstrak Etanol Daun Suruhan dengan konsentrasi 60mg/kgbb mempunyai daya antiinflamasi pada telapak kaki tikus yang diinduksi putih telur 0,5ml, Ekstrak Etanol Daun Suruhan dengan konsentrasi 60mg/kgbb memiliki efek antiinflamasi yang hampir setara dengan Natrium Diklofenak.

Abstract

Diabetes Melitus merupakan penyakit yang ditandai dengan meningkatnya kadar glukosa darah. Daun salam merupakan tanaman yang dapat dijadikan sebagai obat tradisional untuk penyakit diabetes melitus. Adapun salah satu kandungan kimia daun salam adalah flavanoid yang berkhasiat dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh estrak etanol daun salam terhadap penurunan kadar glukosa darah tikus putih jantan dengan induksi glukosa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan desan penelitian yaitu rancangan penelitian pre-test and post-test Control group design. Sampel yang digunakan adalah daun salam. Dengan menggunakan 15 ekor tikus putih jantan sebagai hewan percobaan yang terbagi menjadi 5 kelompok. Kelompok 1 diberikan suspensi cmc, kelompok 2 diberi suspensi glibenklamid, kelompok 3 diberi estrak etanol daun salam dosis 50 mg/kgBB, Kelompok 4 diberi estrak etanol daun salam dosis 100 mg/kgBB, kelompok 5 diberi estrak etanol daun salam dosis 150 mg/kgBB. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa estrak etanol daun salam dosis 150 mg/kgBB lebih efektif dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah tikus dibandingkan dengan dosis 50 mg/kgBB dan 100 mg/kgBB. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah estrak etanol daun salam berpotensi menurunkan kadar glukosa darah tikus putih jantan yang diinduksi glukosa.

Abstract

The Bintangur plant is a plant that can often be found around the house, its existence as a plant makes its properties less known to the public, all parts of this plant are known to be very useful for various pharmacological effects. Various efforts to prevent diseases transmitted by Culex sp. one of them uses larvicides, so an alternative larvicide from natural ingredients is needed, namely Bintangur. The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of the ethanol extract of Bintangur leaves in killing Culex sp larvae with the control being the larvae that were not given the ethanol extract of Bintangur leaves. The type of research on the activity test of the Bintangur leaf ethanol extract used an experimental research type with a true experiment design with a posttest only control group design. The results showed that the ethanol extract of Bintangur leaves (Chalophyllum Inophyllum L.) was active in killing Culex sp. larvae. with the results of the Reed and Muench test with an LC50 value of 281.84 ppm

Abstract

Kesehatan merupakan aspek penting yang dapat mempengaruhi kehidupan  setiap orang. Salah satu cara yang efektif untuk menjaga kesehatan tubuh adalah menjaga kebersihan yaitu kebersihan tangan. Tangan merupakan salah satu jalur penularan berbagai penyakit menular seperti penyakit gangguan usus dan pencernaan seperti (diare dan muntah) dan berbagai penyakit lainnya.Daun sirih hijau mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder yaitu minyak atsiri, alkaloid, flavonoid, fenolik, dan tannin. Dimana tanaman yang mengandung flavonoid berfungsi sebagai antibakteri dan saponin sebagai antimikroba yang mampu berperan dalam menyembuhkan atau memperbaiki kondisi kesehatan masyarakat. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimental. Penelitian ini menformulasikan ekstrak etanol daun sirih hijau yaitu 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20% dalam pengujian aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak etanol daun sirih hijau (piper betle Linn.) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli dengan diameter rata-rata zona hambat berturut-turut adalah 3,33 mm, 5,00 mm, 5,33 mm dan 6,58 mm. Ekstrak etanol daun sirih hijau (piper betle Linn.) yang paling efektif dalam menghambat bakteri yaitu pada konsentrasi 20 % dengan daya hambat 6,58 mm.

Abstract

According to the International Diabetes Federation (2013), currently there are 382 million people living with diabetes. There are 316 million people with impaired glucose tolerance at high risk, an alarming number which is expected to reach 592 million people in 2035. Among the plants that have the potential as anti-diabetic agents are tamarind leaves and saffron plants. This community service activity uses the educational socialization method by conducting counseling and education on how to make tamarind and saffron drinks as anti-diabetic drugs. The purpose of this community service is to provide knowledge regarding education on the use of tamarind and saffron plants for the people of Tengah Pancur Batu Village. The results of Community Service obtained a good knowledge category with the achievement of the level of knowledge of participants before counseling and education in the less (60%) sufficient (27.5%) and good (12.5%) category, after counseling the results of the category increased significantly, namely less 0 ( 0%), enough (15%), and good (85%).
