Abstract

This research aims to determine the language used by the Makassar City Communications and Information Service in conveying information via social media. Knowing the extent of the language understood by the public in conveying information. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques use observation and observation checklists. The results of this research show that the use of Communication and Information communication language really helps the public in increasing understanding. To develop and attract public interest and public awareness about government policies, programs and initiatives. They can use creative and relevant language to attract users' attention and convey important messages effectively. The way Kominfo staff use language on social media plays a very important role in the public's understanding of the information disseminated on social media, there are six functions of language, namely: regulatory function, intersectional function, instrumental function, personal function, heuristic function, which helps the use of language used by Kominfo on social media.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to determine the services or services of the tourism industry applied by PT. Iramasuka tours and travels. The existence of customer service is very much needed in corporate organizations, so that it can function as a modern management function which has an inherent function in company management, namely how to play a role in conducting mutual communication for the purpose of creating mutual understanding, mutual respect, mutual trust, creating goodwill, customer satisfaction, decision of the best and so on in order to achieve a positive image for a company. The research have a purpose that to identify and exploring the types of tourism industry services that are applied and the importance of customer service in the world of work at PT. Iramasuka Tours and Travels. This study uses a qualitative approach the data is processed through three qualitative data analysis namely reduction of the data, made the presentation of the data and made the good conclusion.

Abstract

Leadership is a person's process of moving others by leading, guiding, and influencing them to do something to achieve the expected goals. Motivation is the desire that arises to move in order to achieve the desired goals. This study used a descriptive-qualitative method that aims to determine the role of leadership in identifying obstacles to increasing employee motivation at the Gowa social service office. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation checklists and interviews. The results of the study show that the role of leadership has been carried out optimally, namely by motivating employees through providing direction and guidance, establishing good communication, providing rewards and punishments, conveying clear information, and providing supervision and evaluation of employee performance. The obstacles faced by leaders are the difficulty in determining the form of motivation that will be given because employees have different characters and desires, as well as the lack of giving rewards to employees. The way leaders overcome these obstacles is to build cohesiveness and mutual respect.

Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the use of English in operating SAP System and the staff’ perception towards using such system in banking matters. The research was qualitative with a descriptive design. It was conducted at PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Panakkukang Branch and was carried out for approximately 2 months. The selected respondents were 5 staff from different divisions who used SAP system to operate the banking matters. The study employed questionnaire and interview questions to collect the data. It was found that SAP system is a helpful tool for the bank because all activities are integrated using one software and it can accelerate processing and presenting more accurate data. It terms of familiarity, the staff needed some time to learn the system and to master English terms and vocabulary used in the system. However, the staff anticipated their understanding in using SAP system by following the standards that have been implemented in the bank.

Abstract

South Sulawesi is one of the largest islands in Indonesia, has a diverseand rich culture, which provides significant adaptation challenges for students fromother regions. The problem of this research is how the adaptation process of non-South Sulawesi students in dealing with culture shock in the Business EnglishCommunication Study Program at Universitas Negeri Makassar. This researchaims to find out how Business English Communication students adapt tointercultural communication and identify factors that cause culture shock. Thisresearch uses qualitative research method with descriptive design, this researchinvestigates the experiences and challenges faced by these students. Data werecollected through structured interviews with 12 students who came from variousregions outside South Sulawesi. The research identified five stages of culturaladaptation: planning, honeymoon, frustration, adjustment, and resolution. Findingsfrom this study revealed that students experienced both positive and negativeemotions during the adaptation period, which were influenced by differences inlanguage, social norms, and daily life.

Abstract

Tight business competition and changing times provide challenges for companies to always innovate and be more creative in order to survive and maintain the continuity of the business being run. This study aims to predict bankruptcy in four media and entertainment subsector companies in 2022-2024 using the modified Altman Z-Score model. The research objects used are PT Net Visi Media Tbk, PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk, PT Surya Citra Media Tbk, and PT Visi Media Asia Tbk. The method used is descriptive quantitative research method. The data used is secondary data in the form of company financial reports obtained from the IDX. The results of the Z-score analysis in this study indicate that there are two companies that are indicated to experience bankruptcy, namely PT Net Visi Media Tbk and PT Visi Media Asia Tbk with a Z-score of less than 1.10 during 2022-2024 and there are two companies that are not indicated to experience bankruptcy, namely PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk and PT Surya Citra Media Tbk with a Z-score of more than 2.60 during 2022-2024.
