Abstract

Kelurahan Pesisir is one of the slums area located on the banks of the Siak River Pekanbaru. Design by research aims to find design solutions for the problems of slums with using an assessment of a region through character activities. The form of design solutions forregulation slums related to the five elements of the image of the city; i.e. paths, edges, nodes, districts, and landmarks. The five elements explain image of area obtained from local residents.The issue gained that the region is well-known as the ports of goods and shops citizens who make road traffic in the area becomes crowded. So, the design of the slum settlements to be beneficial to the community activities. That requires a walkway for the carts and pedestrians crossing roads and rivers in the area without disturbing the road traffic.Keyword: Research, Regulation, Settlement, Slum.

Abstract

Office is one of fundamental basic when starting a company. But, due to its high cost of building a new office, many consider to rent, wether its a small space, or even a whole building. In adeveloping city like Pekanbaru, to build a new building must follow the aspect of sustainable design, such as to consider building a high-rise instead of a multi-storey building. Talk about ahigh-rise building, expecially one designed for office, the use of electricity is inevitably high. For example, the use for lighting, cooling system, and the use of all other office equipment (computer, fotocopy machine, etc) which is very active during the worktime. But, there’s actually a solution to this, as office mostly active during the day. And that is the very reason to consider the use of infinite source of energy during the day, the daylight itself. The designing of natural lighting strategy basedon the elements of : building orientation, toplighting, sidelighting, and shading system. The application of natural lighting concept on this building will reduce the cost of electricity andbecome an eco-friendly building.Keywords : Office, Rental Office, Natural Lighting

Abstract

Orphanage as a home or residence used to care, care for orphans, orphans and orphans. In fulfilling the physical,mental and social needs that require the role of companion as a substitute in creating the character especially in thefemale children. There is not much facilities and infrastructure to support the needs of the life of the orphanage. Byoptimizing the growth with affection, comfort, coaching and carers in formal education, morals and entrepreneurship inaccordance with the girl character of prosperous and independent. It becomes the background of this design. So thisdesign illustrates the application of Behavioral Architecture. The research method used is behavioral mapping method(behavioral mapping) which applied to the building. Data collection methods such as field data collection, literaturestudy and empirical study. Application of Child Behavior to the building concept used in this design is familytogetherness which can provide love, togetherness and provide a place for learning activities, playing, as well asdeveloping talent for children. Can be found through the form of building which is a transformation of child behavior,the colors used give the impressionof femiliar, soft and safe use of material according to the child’s behavior, creatingthe impression of protecting from the building.Keywordrs : Orphanage, Character, Children, Behavioral Architecture, Family togetherness

Abstract

Stroke Hospital is special facilities for stroke that do not exist in Pekanbaru yet, the design of this hospital can accommodate the patient activity based on the pattern of stroke behavior. This is generally divided into two, such as slow and impulsive behavior. The problems are solved by applying the principles of behavior architecture as an approach in design, they are environmental perceptions and personal space. Methods use are incude field data collection, literature study, empiris study, and stroke behavior analysis by using behavior mapping methods, the methods are place center mapping and person center mapping. The result of this study is able to design the stroke hospital that focus on the behavioral problems of stroke patients which is set by using concept of Healing Environment, this concept designs a hospital environment that can help improve the cure and adaptability of patients by applying the healing element and requesting the stroke patient space in accordance with their personal space. The design is also planned as a refference for other hospital with the most complete stroke facility in Pekanbaru.Keywords : Hospital, Behavior Architecture, Stroke Behavior

Abstract

The development and achievement of Taekwondo from Riau province on the National level in 2013 began to move forward rapidly and also the rise of Riau's position to the 4th rankin the National level had made Taekwondo of Riau province began to be noticed by the Taekwondo Big Executive Board of Indonesia (PBTI). It is necessary to support various facilities that can accommodate all activities of Taekwondo to get better performance. Due to the lack of coordinating institution that facilitate Taekwondo activities starting from thelodging, the field and most important thing is the place to do the exercises. The approach of the design will use Tangible Metaphor Architecture which will apply Taekwondo shape andcharacter, so that people can recognize the function of the building just by looking at the physical appearance of the building and produce a more modern formation. The purpose is toproduce a more expressive architecture by trying to move information from a subject to a building. The results is Taekwondo Training Center will implement the formation of Splitmovement to the form of building because Split is a typical movement of Taekwondo is very well known by people.Keywords: Taekwondo, Tangible Metaphor, Riau

Abstract

Datuk Rubiah Market, located in Jl. Sumatra is a place that plays an important role in collecting the needs of the people of Bagansiapiapi. Problems that occur in Datuk Rubiah are many shortages of facilities such as trash bins, management offices, unloading areas, kiosks and booths that are lacking for sellers. The market arrangement also looks poor, that is, the circulation in and out of the market is not appropriate so that buyers are piling up, lack of parking lots and drainage facilities is also a problem caused in this market. therefore the need for a new Design Datuk Rubiah Market both in terms of buildings and land area. The design method used in the design of the Datuk Rubiah Market is with the principles of Chinese and Malay Architecture. Abstract

Skateboarding, BMX, and Inline Skating are kind of extreme sports, these sports entered indonesia in the 70-80s. The rapid development of this extreme sport in Pekanbaru cannot be denied by emergence of the community of each of these extreme sports, but the rapid development of this sports is not accompanied by adequate facilities. These athletes of extreme sports players often practice in outdoor such as city park, Main Stadium Riau, Kaharudin Nasution Stadium, and in the Arena Loop. The lack of facilities is an obstacle for these athletes and extreme sports players for more develop talent and many times several International and National Event can not do in Pekanbaru, because of inadequate facilities. Therefore to solve this problem is needed Skate Arena located in Pekanbaru to facilitate all the needs of this extreme sport, and become a container for national and international events. Based on the extreme nature owned by this sport, and the similarity of how to play is to play by passing obstacle while showing tricks, then the concept of designing Skate Arena is to pass the obstacle. The concept will be applied through the principle of Architecture Expressionism. The extreme natura of the sport will be translated through the use of red materials, the nature of the obstacle will be translated trough the use of wood materials, and concrete which is a charateristic of obstacle material, and provides a ramp that penetrates.Keywords: Extreme sports, Skateboard, BMX, Inline Skate, Architecture Expressionism

Abstract

Riau’s Malay is one of many malay cultures in Southeast Asia. On the sidelines of the history of the Malay, it created many kingdom. So much produce cultural heritage that should be preserved. But the longer cultural heritage of the Malay increasingly drowned out by the times are so rapidly. That why need to create regional Riau Malay Heritage Centre is in preserving cultural heritage. Not only as a means of conservation of cultural heritage, this area also serves as a place of cultural tourism and small-scale industries. So as to increase financial artisans and art workers. Its design concept is Cluster Heritage, which means the incorporation of cultural heritage. Riau Malay culture that spread in Riau province has a diverse cultural heritage, including language, art, way of life, social and even traditional houses. Malay cultural diversity this is combined into a single site design. Cluster is applied to site, while Heritage take 3 basic forms of Malay house, lontik house, lipat kajang house adn limas house which transformed to building design. The need for contemporary architecture in the design area in maintaining the existence of the Malay cultural heritage facility in order to be able to compete with the rapid development of the environment surrounding the region infrastructure. Abstract

Education is primary requirement of human, including children with autism. Autism education has problems due to disturbance behaviors exhibited by autistic children. One of the efforts to deal with problems on their behavior is to establish autism therapy centre which also serves as an educational centre with the aim to establish positive behavior and develop other lately capability. Education centre, therapy, and healthcare autism have an important role in the formation and development of behavior and the ability of behavior autistic children. The activities require a aspace that can meet the needs of architectural aspects such as directed circulation, the order of the mass, and organized spaceso that the autistic children can do their activities properly for the establishment and development of behavior and the behavior of its ability. Architecture behavioral theory used in this design process is from Rapoport in Architecture, Environment, and Behavior; behavioral theory of autistic children is from Muhammad Sugiarmin in Adaptive Behavior Development for Autistic Children; and the theory of dynamic geometry concept is from Sondang Junita in AutismSpecial Needs School of dynamism in behavior of autistic children predilection towards geometric shapes. Design method is using dynamic geometry. The concept of dynamicgeometry applied to the architectural approach behavior, which includes pattern of outer space, the order of the masses, circulation of outer space, the spatial pattern, dan circulationin the room. Designing Autism Care Centre is expected to accomodate the needs and activities of autistic children in the field of education, therapy, and health behavior with autistic children in order to establish and develop the behavior and the behavior of its abilities.Keywords : Care Centre. Abstract

Riau University library is a facility that managing and providing access to information services, resources, and knowledge that support teaching, learning, and research for the library users. The Existing of library building still not meet the functional requirements and user comfort. With presence of new library building planning in the University of Riau Masterplan year 2013-2033 became the reason for the design. Riau University library design is using the application of behavioral architecture approach with the intention that the designed libraries considering human aspects and behaviour. The concept that used in the design is behavioural accomodation. The design of Riau University Library is expected can meet the needs of user in terms of both function needs and users comfort by directing, and considering its behavior factor like privacy, territory, personal space.The results of the behaviour accomodation concept application contained in the design of Riau University library that includes zoning of function and behaviour, circulation that accomodate accessibility behaviour, indoor setting arrangement to accommodate behaviour and comfort, outdoor setting for outdoor actvity, form of mass wich is result from room setting, mass order inside the site, building structure, utilities that support function and comfort, building facades, vegetation and landscaping detail.Keywords: Behavioral Accomodation, Behavioural Architecture, Riau University Library
