Abstract

Solid waste from oil palm trunks after replanting activities in oil palm plantations has the potential to be utilized. However, the community's perspective considers that oil palm trunks cannot be utilized because they are easy to mold and have low strength. The application of innovation and technology will be able to provide solutions to community empowerment and utilization of the potential of oil palm trunks. The purpose of the service activity is to provide assistance to innovation and technology on how to use palm oil trunk waste as raw material for furniture and building interior products in Pancurangading Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency. The results of service activities can be declared successful in providing community understanding, attitudes, and skills. The success rate of the program based on pre-test and post-test data was 37.5% (do not understand) and increased to 84.7% (understand). People's perceptions of oil palm trunks have been able to change so that they are able to understand, utilize and produce palm wood raw materials into various variants of furniture and building interiors. Utilization of oil palm trunks can provide business opportunities for the community in the future.

Abstract

Lack of electricity in the rural areas is quite limited to farmers in the lemongrass plantation in Siabu, Salo, Kampar. Their problem provides an idea to assemble solar panels for lighting supplies for lemongrass farmers. The method used for this activity is; field survey, assembly, calibration, and testing. In the test of the battery charging process has been carried out. Batteries charging are utilized 20 Ah and 60 Ah. The solar panels used are 2*50 Wp, Solar Charger Controller, battery, and inverter. The battery of 20 Ah load test results has an electricity of 30 Watt. The maximum battery voltage measured at 12.8 Volt with a load duration of 4 hours. The loading test is also carried out for a battery of 60 Ah has the same load that is a 30 Watt. In this test, the voltage is measured 12.8 Volt, a duration of electricity use for 11 hours.

Abstract

The Islamic Sports Tourism Area is quoted from a hadith which reads from Amir al-mu'minin, Umar Al-Faruq Ibn Al-Khattab, Rasulullah Shallallahu'alaihi Wasallam said: "Teach your children to ride, swim and archery". (HR. Shahih Bukhari / Muslim). From the hadith, 3 sports can be taken clearly from the Prophet Muhammad SAW, namely horse riding, swimming and archery. These three sports will be the main function in the Islamic sports tourism area. The design method used is a field survey and documentation as well as analyzing data. The results of the design take the formation of nature in general, namely leaves. The shape of nature is in line with the theme of this design, which is biomimetic architecture. In addition to the three main functions there are also supporting functions in the form of airsoft gun, all terrain vehicles, mosques, food courts, clinics, and retail. The Islamic sports tourism area aims to accommodate community activities and is the center of activities of Islamic Sports in Pekanbaru.).

Abstract

Kampung Empat Balai is one of the old villages in Kuok District, Kampar Regency. The kampung comprises traditional Malay houses as cultural heritages that urge to preserve. The house has a unique roof shape and carvings pattern. However, the house is endangering due to a lack of maintenance. This research has aimed to identify the construction of houses that belong to the Bawi ethnic group people. A qualitative descriptive approach has been carried out to investigate and analyse this Malay house. This research found that the Bawi's house has a curving roof type which is known as part of the Lotiok roof type. This stilt house has a structural system in the form of a series of line elements with non-rigid joints that bind each other using notches and pegs as a connection system that is anticipated for earthquakes. Materially, this Bawi'House uses wooden-based materials throughout its construction systems, such as floors, walls, columns, girder beams and roof trusses.Malay house; traditional construction; lontiok roof; wooden-based materials

Abstract

Rengat, a capital of Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu, is a developing city in Riau. Development of the city was followed by increasing of population and growth of housing and residential area. Growth of housings and residential area in Rengat City are along Sungai Indragiri. Along this river, housings and residential area have degradation quality and disordered pattern. The purpose of this research was to identify the characteristic of slums area along Indragiri’s river. There are 6 Desa (villages) which are been taken to this study, namely Desa Kuantan Baru (industry area), Desa Kuantan Baru, Desa Kampung Dagang, Desa Kampung Besar Kota, Desa Pasar Kota and Desa Sekip Hulu. This research used criteria parameter assessment for slums area. The criteria consist of: non-economic vitality criteria, economy area vitality criteria, land ownership, infrastructures and facilities, and government commitment. This research finding that from 6 villages, Desa Kampung Besar Kota is a slums area, based on parameter assessment. Property Development approach was conducted to handling slums area of Desa Kampung Besar.

Abstract

Keanekaragaman warisan budaya menjadi ciri khas masing-masing daerah yang ada di Indonesia. Karya tenun Pandai Sikek ini tergolong autentik sehingga beresiko tergerus seiring perkembangan waktu dikarenakan konsumsinya terbatas pada acara adat dan acara formal di Sumatera Barat. Saat ini belum tersedianya suatu sentra yang memfasilitasi interaksi langsung antar peminat, pengrajin, dan pengusaha kerajinan tenun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan pencahayaan alami  pada sentra kerajinan tenun pandai sikek Kabupaten Tanah Datar. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Dalam perancangan ini, akan diterapkan sistem pencahayaan alami sidelighting dan toplighting. Hasil penelitian ini adalah perlu adanya analisis terhadap pergerakan matahari tahunan pada massa bangunan dan lokasi site. Teknik penetrasi pencahayaan alami ke interior bangunan agar cahaya dapat didistribusikan secara merata dan dengan efek silau ke dalam bangunan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah  penerapan konsep dengan bentuk dasar gulungan “Benang Merah” dengan penentuan material terhadap fungsi-fungsi ruang tertentu yang memerlukan pencahayaan lebih dan dalam lingkup kenyamanan visual pengguna bangunan.
