Abstract

Digital transformation in the secondary education sector has experienced significant acceleration with the adoption of Learning Management Systems (LMS) as the primary digital learning platform. This research aims to analyze the impact of LMS implementation, identify challenges faced, and explore effective adaptation strategies in secondary schools. The study employs a qualitative approach with document analysis and case studies from various LMS implementations in secondary schools in Indonesia and other countries. Data was collected through in-depth analysis of 25 previous studies discussing LMS implementation in secondary education contexts. Research findings indicate that LMS implementation provides significant positive impacts on improving teacher-student interaction, learning access flexibility, school management efficiency, and learning personalization. However, implementation faces major challenges including technological infrastructure limitations, digital literacy gaps, resistance to change, and budget constraints. Effective adaptation strategies include continuous teacher training, technological infrastructure strengthening, clear institutional policy development, and hybrid learning model adoption. AI technology integration in LMS and development of locally-based platforms emerge as current innovation trends. The research concludes that successful digital transformation through LMS requires a holistic approach integrating technology, pedagogy, and management aspects with comprehensive policy support.

Abstract

This research aims to create an Android-based guide to reading letters and sentences for deaf children at UPT Special School (SLB) Negeri 1 Palopo. This research process aims to help deaf students read letters and sentences, so with this letter and sentence reading guide application, it can make it easier for deaf students to learn anywhere and anytime. The type of research used in this research is Research and Development (R&D), using the ADDIE model. This system design uses MIT App Inventor Software. This Android-based letter and sentence recognition application for deaf children has been tested by media experts using black box testing. The results of research validation from two validators obtained an average result of 3.85 with a very feasible category. The conclusion of this research shows that Android-based learning media has been proven to be very feasible. The results of the research were implemented in the form of an Android application as a learning medium for recognizing letters and sentences for deaf children as a teaching medium that can be used at UPT Special School (SLB) Negeri 1 Palopo.

Abstract

In the increasingly developing digital era, technological transformation has had a significant impact on various sectors, including education. This phenomenon gives rise to a new paradigm in the teaching and learning process, which is specifically known as educational technology or e-learning. This research aims to design an e-learning application. The main aim of this application is so that schools can keep up with technological developments that are developing rapidly in the world of education and also make it easier for teachers and students to provide information and increase learning hours that can be accessed by teachers and students anytime and anywhere. The type of research used is the Research and Development (R&D) method. The application development model used in this research involves four stages, namely observation, interviews and literature study. The application used in the creation system is Android Studio. The programming languages ​​used in designing this e-learning are HTML/CSS, PHP, Java Script and Kotlin. The result of this research is an application used by teachers and students at SDN 7 Ponjalae in the teaching and learning process using an electronic learning system to make it easier to access learning anywhere and anytime. This e-learning application has been tested using a black box by obtaining media expert validation test results of 3.90, including in the Very Good category.

Abstract

Efficient waste management and active community participation are key to keeping cities clean and reducing negative impacts on health and the environment. "E-Scavenger" is an innovative scavenger application implemented in Palopo City to increase waste collection efficiency and community involvement. This research involves a cross-sectional descriptive approach with data collection through direct observation and interviews. Additionally, Human Centered Design (HCD) research methods were applied to ensure the application was designed according to user needs and preferences, involving an iterative process centered on waste pickers and communities. “E-Scavenger” not only focuses on waste management, but also encourages active community participation in sustainable waste management efforts. The app provides real-time information about the location and type of waste that needs to be picked up, allowing waste pickers to work more efficiently. Additionally, “E-Scavenger” is designed to provide incentives to scavengers through a reward program and transparent reporting. The results of this research provide a comprehensive picture of the number of workers involved in waste management, the facilities and infrastructure available, as well as the volume of waste produced in Palopo City. With the implementation of "E-Scavenger", it is hoped that there will be a significant increase in waste collection efficiency and community participation, making Palopo City an example in technology-based waste management. It is hoped that the success of this innovation will make a positive contribution to public health and environmental sustainability in Palopo City.

Abstract

The growth of the population, which affects traffic congestion issues, has shown that effective traffic management is crucial, especially at intersections with high vehicle volumes. Currently, traffic control methods using hand signals from traffic officers are considered less effective, with controllers often experiencing disruptions with traffic lights. To address this issue, it is necessary to design a prototype of an Automatic Warning System at Traffic Lights (AWSTRAL). This system will be designed to provide automatic warnings to drivers when there is a disruption in the traffic light or an unsafe traffic situation. This research uses a prototyping approach to design AWSTRAL, which consists of several main components, including traffic sensors, data processing systems, and warning displays. The result of this research is a prototype that, when a disruption in the traffic light or an unsafe traffic situation is detected, AWSTRAL will automatically activate warning displays located around the intersection. The warning displays will inform drivers of unsafe conditions and provide instructions on actions to be taken, such as stopping or proceeding with caution. The use of AWSTRAL will help reduce the risk of traffic accidents and improve road safety. Additionally, by providing automatic warnings, AWSTRAL will help optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion at intersections.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk digitalisasi data alumni dengan merancang sebuah aplikasi berbasis web untuk pengelolaan data alumni Fakultas Teknik Komputer Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo (FTKOM UNCP) dalam bentuk website. Berdasarkan observasi dan wawancara kepada pihak kampus FTKOM UNCP didapatkan permasalahan setelah lulus sulit mendapatkan data atau informasi tentang alumni, dan komunikasi antar alumni kurang baik, sehingga menyulitkan pihak FTKOM UNCP dalam menyebarkan informasi terkait dengan kebutuhan kampus seperti informasi tracer study, lowongan kerja, mitra kampus dan lain-lain. diperlukan inovasi untuk membantu mengatasi masalah sulit mendapatkan data atau informasi tentang alumni, dan komunikasi antar alumni kurang baik. Inovasi tersebut berupa digitalisasi data alumni berbasis website sehingga dengan adanya digitalisasi tersebut, pendataan Alumni FTKOM UNCP ini alumni dapat bertukar informas dan dapat berkomunikasi dengan baik sesama alumni maupun terhadap pihak FTKOM UNCP. Penelitian ini berhasil membuat aplikasi data alumni pada FTKOM UNCP. Website yang telah dibuat diharapkan bisa memberikan kemudahan akses bagi pengelola dan alumni. Peneliti mengharapkan untuk proses penggunaan jangka panjang maka diperlukan aspek pemeliharaan agar sistem dapat terus digunakan.

and minimizing the impact of storms and waves that occur every year. This effort is carried out in a soft structure through mangrove planting. Apart from that, this activity also aims to strengthen the capacity of the Tahoa Village community regarding the importance of the mangrove ecosystem in protecting the coastal environment from storms and waves. The mangrove seeds selected were of the Rhizophora mucronata type. The choice of this type is based on the nature of this type of mangrove which is quite tolerant and adaptive to changes in environmental conditions. Apart from that, the selected mangrove seeds also have criteria that are ready for planting, including having a number of leaves ?4, being fertile, not diseased and not deformed/broken. The mangrove planting activity involved the Tahoa Village community and the Tahoa Village Mangrove Activist Group. Apart from that, this mangrove planting activity also involved the entire USN Kolaka Academic Community. The evaluation activity on the results of mangrove planting was carried out 2 months after the planting activity by taking into account several factors, including seedlings that might have broken roots during the transportation process from Kendari to Kolaka, as well as uncontrolled sea wave conditions. For this reason, mangrove replanting was carried out on several dead mangrove seedlings.

Abstract

The main problem faced by the partner, namely the Matano Iniaku tourism management group in Matano Tourism Village, is the low communication ability and public speaking skills of tour guides in delivering information about tourist destinations in an engaging and persuasive manner. To address this issue, a Public Speaking Clinic was conducted to improve participants’ speaking abilities, build self-confidence, and enhance their storytelling techniques. The program was implemented using an experiential learning approach through interactive training, hands-on practice, presentation simulations, and mentoring by professional trainers from PT. Dialogika Pesona Indonesia. The two-day activity was attended by 19 participants consisting of tour guides and destination managers. The evaluation results showed a 93% increase in communication skills, particularly in articulation, intonation, message structure, and nonverbal expression. This program has provided a tangible solution for partners in improving tourism service quality and can serve as a model for communication competency development in the local tourism sector.

Abstract

Penggunaan teknologi dalam lingkungan pendidikan terus berkembang seiring dengan perkembangan zaman. Salah satu penggunaannya adalah penerapan Internet of Things (IoT) dalam sistem absensi mahasiswa. Sistem absensi mahasiswa secara manual rentan terjadi kecurangan dan memerlukan waktu yang lama dalam proses absensi. Oleh karena itu, dengan hadirnya teknologi sidik jari (fingerprint) telah menjadi salah satu metode yang efisien dan akurat untuk mengelola kehadiran mahasiswa. Namun, kesuksesan implementasi teknologi ini tidak hanya tergantung pada fungsionalitasnya, tetapi juga pada antarmuka pengguna (UI) dalam menggunakan aplikasi. Maka dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode User Centered Design (UCD) sebagai landasan metodologi dalam merancang antarmuka yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Hasil Penelitian ini, menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan metode UCD efektif dalam merancang desain sistem absensi mahasiswa. Hasil dari pengujian desain aplikasi memperoleh skor penilaian rata-rata dari pengujian adalah 3,5, termasuk kategori memenuhi atau sudah sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna.
