Abstract

Tidak hanya sebagai hiburan semata, film juga sebagai edukasi serta membentuk pandangan dan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap berbagai isu dan fenomena sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana konstruksi media massa yang terdapat dalam film “Alif Lam Mim” dan hal apa saja yang memengaruhi konten dan narasi dalam pemberitaan di media massa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif , yaitu suatu proses penelitian yang menggunakan hasil data deskriptif baik dalam bentuk verbal maupun non verbal. Data diperoleh melalui studi literatur dan observasi mendalam melalui pemilihan adegan-adegan tertentu dari film tersebut sebagai objek analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media massa dalam film “Alif Lam Mim” telah melakukan konstruksi bahwa orang-orang yang mengenakan atribut agama seperti jubah, jenggot, dan bercadar adalah dicurigai sebagai pelaku teroris dan sosok yang patut diwaspadai. Penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan bahwa ada banyak faktor yang memengaruhi pemberitaan. Seperti struktur media, pengaturan editorial, norma dan nilai jurnalistik, konteks sosial dan politik, kepercayaan pada sumber berita, ketertarikan audiens, teknologi dan inovasi berita, dan kepentingan ekonomi.

Abstract

ABSTRACT (Inggris) This research discusses the importance of developing multicultural and pluralistic curricula in Islamic religious education to address challenges in today's ethnically, culturally, and religiously diverse society. Using a qualitative methodology with a literature-based approach, the study emphasizes education's vital role in character formation, particularly in building tolerance and coexistence among different religious adherents. The study notes a shift from a one-size-fits-all religious education approach toward an inclusive curriculum that incorporates different religious education curriculum models, fostering mutual respect among students of different faiths. This transition suggests several curriculum reform strategies: how educators, curriculum developers, and stakeholders can collaborate to design an environment that values diversity and enables positive engagement among students from various backgrounds. Abstract

Islamic banking always strives to improve its reputation in the community by disclosing social responsibility (JSR) and institutional governance (ICG) as well as the distribution of Zakat funds (ZPR), but these efforts are still not optimal. The study aimed to analyze the impact of JSR, ICG and ZPR on reputation, represented by Third Party Fund (DPK) of Islamic Comercial Bank in Indonesia (BUS). The population of this study was purely BUS in Indonesia for the period 2016-2020. Samples were selected by positive sampling method with a total of 7 BUS samples. The analytical method used is panel data regression, with e-views 9.0 analysis tool. The results showed that JSR had a significant effect on reputation, while ICG and ZPR had no significant effect on reputation. It can be concluded that JSR can progress notoriety while ICG and ZPR have not been able to affect reputation, because currently many Islamic banks have not implemented ICG properly while the distribution of zakat (ZPR) has not had an impact on community economic empowerment.

Abstract

This article critically examines Ivan Strenski’s work “The Proper Object of the Study of Religion: Why It Is Better to Know Some of the Questions Than All of the Answers”, which positions “problems of religion” as the epistemological foundation of religious studies. Using a qualitative approach through library research, this study analyzes Strenski’s argument that religious inquiry should focus on fundamental questions emerging from religious phenomena, rather than defining what religion is. The analysis reveals that Strenski successfully offers an important epistemological repositioning for religious studies to remain scientific while avoiding both theologization and cultural reductionism. However, his concept remains normative and lacks an operational methodology for empirical application. This review highlights the significance of Strenski’s ideas in enriching the epistemological discourse of religious studies and underscores the need for a more concrete methodological framework to implement his theoretical propositions.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted at Link. Sambi Gerowong, Sukawana Village in Serang District, Serang City, Banten. This training aims to provide digital literacy training, both digital transformation, technological transformation and digital marketing, to raise awareness of the community towards the current era of digitalization, which is increasingly rapid and advanced, so that today's society needs this awareness to facilitate digital development and application in a prosperous life. The results of the activity showed a significant development, both in terms of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Recommendations were also made to extend similar programs to other villages to broaden the impact of digitalization in the modern era, to invite village youth to become drivers of the community's digital transformation, and to provide shared workspaces with Internet access as digital training and production centers.

Abstract

The revitalization of the Sunnah has become a crucial issue in contemporary da’wah and hadith studies in Indonesia, particularly amid the widespread dissemination of fabricated (maudhu‘) hadiths through digital media that threaten religious authority and Muslim religious practices. This study examines the thought and da’wah of KH. Ali Mustafa Ya‘qub (1952–2016), a prominent Indonesian hadith scholar, in his effort to revitalize the Sunnah as a contextual yet authentic guide for life. Using a qualitative method with a literature study approach and content analysis of his major works, this research aims to address three questions: the concept of Sunnah revitalization according to Ya‘qub, the hadith criticism methodology he employed, and the relevance of his ideas to the challenges of da’wah in the digital era. The findings show that Ya‘qub constructed Sunnah revitalization upon four pillars of hadith scholarship (muṣṭalaḥ, takhrij, fiqh al-ḥadīth, and difā‘ ‘an al-ḥadīth) while integrating both sanad and matn criticism in a balanced manner. Its implementation appears in preaching, education, and digital engagement, making it relevant today

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has accelerated the growth of digital commerce (e-commerce) in Indonesia. Along with the increasing use of electronic transaction systems, various legal problems have emerged that potentially harm consumers, including online fraud, product discrepancies, delays in delivery, misuse of personal data, and the inclusion of unfair standard clauses by business actors. These conditions indicate that consumers remain in a vulnerable position within digital transactions. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of legal protection for consumers in digital commerce transactions in Indonesia and to identify the obstacles affecting its implementation. The research employs a normative legal research method using statutory and conceptual approaches. The study examines Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions and its amendments, as well as Law No. 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection. The results of the study show that consumer protection regulations in Indonesia have provided a normative legal framework for safeguarding consumer rights in digital transactions. However, their implementation has not yet been fully effective due to weak supervision of digital business actors, low public legal literacy, ineffective dispute resolution mechanisms, and technological developments that progress faster than existing legal regulations. In addition, the protection of consumers’ personal data remains vulnerable due to the increasing volume of electronic data processing in e-commerce activities. This study highlights the urgency of strengthening regulatory supervision, improving digital legal literacy among the public, and optimizing personal data protection mechanisms to ensure legal certainty, justice, and security for consumers in Indonesia’s digital commerce ecosystem.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital platforms in Indonesia has reshaped its economy, with e-commerce transactions expected to reach IDR 487.01 trillion in 2024, positioning Indonesia as a major player in Southeast Asia's digital economy (Google, Temasek, & Bain, 2023). Despite the advancements, the platform economy has introduced significant inequalities between platform operators and consumers, leading to consumer exploitation through data manipulation, dynamic pricing algorithms, and unclear contract terms. These issues are further exacerbated by Indonesia’s existing legal framework, which struggles to address the challenges posed by digital transactions. This study critically evaluates Indonesia's consumer protection laws and identifies the gaps allowing these exploitative practices. It proposes a legal reconstruction model that focuses on ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability in digital contracts. The study's key findings highlight the legal deficiencies in regulating platform monopolies, the need for clearer regulations on algorithmic pricing, and the underregulation of data privacy concerns. Recommendations for legal reform aim to enhance consumer protection, creating a more equitable digital economy.

Abstract

Consumer protection in trade transactions has become a critical issue in modern commerce, especially with the rise of digital transactions. Despite existing regulations, many consumers remain vulnerable to information asymmetry, exploitation, and injustice in trade. This article aims to critically evaluate the concept of justice in trade through the perspectives of human rights and public policy. The focus is on consumer protection in sale transactions, both in conventional trade and e-commerce, exploring how human rights principles and public policy can offer solutions to the injustices consumers face. This study employs a juridical-normative approach with a comparative analysis between Indonesian law and international human rights norms. Key legal frameworks such as the Indonesian Consumer Protection Law (No. 8/1999) and the Trade Law (No. 7/2014) are analyzed alongside the UN’s International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ICESCR). Primary data was collected through semi-structured interviews with 20 experts, e-commerce businesses, and consumers involved in digital trade transactions. Secondary data was derived from legal documents, consumer protection reports, and literature on Indonesian commercial law. The findings reveal that while Indonesia’s legal framework provides a foundation for consumer protection, its implementation remains inadequate, leaving consumers exposed to unfair practices in online transactions. The article suggests that consumer protection should not merely be a contractual formality but also a moral and ethical responsibility, ensuring consumers' rights to safety, fairness, and transparent transactions. From a human rights perspective, economic justice and social fairness are integral to consumer rights. The state has an obligation to ensure access to clear information, provide mechanisms for redress, and prevent exploitative practices in trade. Public policy must strengthen oversight, regulation, and consumer education in digital trade platforms, ensuring that they are transparent, fair, and provide accessible dispute resolution mechanisms. In conclusion, consumer protection in trade should be viewed not only through contractual agreements but also as part of economic justice, safeguarding consumers' rights to clear information, fair treatment, and the ability to seek compensation for harm. The state must play an active role in fostering a trade environment that aligns with human rights and effective public policy, creating a just and equitable marketplace.

Abstract

E-commerce is often presented as a symbol of efficiency, accessibility, and consumer empowerment; however, behind this digital convenience lies a complex structure of consumer vulnerability. In Indonesia, the scale of digital trade is significant, with e-commerce transactions reaching IDR 453.75 trillion and 3.71 billion transactions in 2023, while the Ministry of Trade recorded 7,707 consumer reports, including 6,018 complaints, in the same year. These figures indicate that the growth of digital trade has not been fully accompanied by effective consumer protection mechanisms. This article critically examines the illusions of e-commerce by analyzing consumer exploitation, ethical failures, and legal deficiencies in digital sale transactions. Using a juridical-normative and conceptual approach, this study evaluates the issue through consumer protection law, Islamic commercial ethics, human rights norms, and public policy. The analysis argues that consumer exploitation in e-commerce emerges through information asymmetry, misleading advertising, hidden costs, weak refund mechanisms, unfair standard contracts, and limited platform accountability. From the perspective of Islamic law, such practices conflict with the principles of honesty, transparency, mutual consent, and the prohibition of gharar and tadlis. From a human rights perspective, inadequate consumer protection undermines the right to information, economic justice, and effective remedy. Although Indonesia has issued regulations on electronic commerce, including rules on licensing, advertising, supervision, and business actors in electronic trading, regulatory enforcement remains challenged by platform complexity, cross-border transactions, and unequal bargaining power between consumers and digital businesses. Therefore, this article argues that justice in digital trade requires stronger legal reform, ethical business accountability, consumer education, and public policy that places consumer dignity at the center of e-commerce governance.
