Abstract

Materi keanekaragaman hayati membahas objek-objek yang telah dikenal oleh peserta didik karena berada dekat di sekitar peserta didik. Oleh karena itu, lebih mudah mengajarkan keterampilan proses karena objek yang dipelajari dapat dijumpai di kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun hingga saat ini belum ada LKPD untuk materi keanekaragaman hayati yang sekaligus melatihkan keterampilan proses. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKPD berbasis keterampilan proses sains dasar materi keanekaragaman hayati kelas X SMA yang valid dan praktis. Penelitian pengembangan ini merujuk pada model pengembangan 4-D (define, design, develop, and disseminate), tanpa tahap disseminate. Validitas LKPD ditinjau berdasarkan validasi para ahli, yaitu ahli materi, ahli pendidikan, dan ahli media. Kepraktisan LKPD ditinjau berdasarkan penilaian guru (n = 5) dan respons peserta didik (n = 16). Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berbasis keterampilan proses sains dasar yang dikembangkan pada materi keanekaragaman hayati mendapatkan skor rata-rata keseluruhan aspek validitas sebesar 93% yang tergolong dalam kategori sangat valid. Selanjutnya pada hasil respons oleh peserta didik mendapatkan skor rata-rata 98% dan hasil respons guru biologi mendapatkan skor rata-rata 97% yang tergolong dalam kategori sangat baik. Oleh karena itu, LKPD berbasis keterampilan proses sains dasar materi keanekaragaman hayati yang dihasilkan sangat layak untuk digunakan pada pembelajaran biologi untuk materi keanekaragaman hayati. Abstract

Literasi digital adalah kemampuan peserta didik yang harus dikuasai di abad ke-21. Tujuan penelitian adalah menghasilkan e-book keanekaragaman hayati yang praktis, valid, dan efektif sebagai sumber belajar dan untuk melatihkan literasi digital. Penelitian ini dikembangkan model 4D, tanpa tahap disseminate. Validitas e-book diukur berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi, ahli pendidikan, dan ahli teknologi informasi. Kepraktisan e-book diukur berdasarkan respons praktisi (guru) dan peserta didik. Keefektifan e-book diukur berdasarkan nilai ketuntasan tes literasi digital. Uji coba terbatas penelitian melibatkan 20 peserta didik dan 5 orang guru. Jenis penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif-kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-book dinyatakan valid (modus=4). E-book dinyatakan praktis berdasarkan penilaian praktisi (modus=4) serta respons peserta didik (persentase respons positif sebesar 94%). E-book dinyatakan efektif diukur berdasarkan perolehan rata-rata literasi digital peserta didik sebesar 0.7 dengan kategori tinggi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-book keanekaragaman hayati valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam pembelajaran sebagai sumber belajar dan untuk melatihkan literasi digital peserta didik kelas X SMA. Digital literacy is an abilities that must be mastered by the students in the 21st century. The purpose this research was to produce a practical, valid, and effective biodiversity e-book as a learning resource which can train digital literacy. This developmental research was reffered to 4D model, without the disseminate stage. Validation was carried out based on the evaluation of material experts, education experts, and information technology experts. Practicality was measured based on practitioners’ and students’ responses. Effectiveness was measured based on the completeness value of the digital literacy test. The limited trial involved 20 students and 5 teachers. Data were analyzed descriptive-quantitatively. The results showed the e-book was declared valid (modus=4) and practical based on the practitioner's assessment (modus=4) and the students' responses (94% positive responses), also declared to be effective based on the average of students' digital literacy scored by 0.7 in the high category. It can be concluded that the biodiversity e-book is valid, practical, and effective to be used learning as a learning resource and can train the digital literacy for 10th grade high school.

Abstract

Kerang lentera merupakan salah satu makrobentos penyusun ekosistem intertidal berlumpur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan komunitas bivalvia yang yang berasosiasi dengan kerang lentera di zona intertidal Selat Madura. Sampling dengan menggunakan metode simple random sampling pada lima lokasi yang telah ditentukan, yakni di Kabupaten Probolinggo, Kabupaten Situbondo, Kabupaten Bangkalan, Kecamatan Kwanyar-Bangkalan, dan Kabupaten Pamekasan. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggali substrat pada area plot sedalam 5-10 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dijumpai 15 spesies anggota kelas Bivalvia yang memiliki ko-eksistensi dan berasosiasi dengan kerang lentera (Brachiopoda) yang berasal dari famili Arcidae, Veneridae, Solenidae, Cardiidae, Lucinidae, Lasaeidae, Laternulidae, Mactridae, dan Tellinidae. Koreamya sp. merupakan spesies yang berasosiasi komensalisme dengan kerang lentera (Brachiopoda: Lingulata).

Abstract

Kawasan hutan Mangrove Banyuurip Ujungpangkah Gresik memiliki potensi dalam mendukung keanekaragaman burung, namun terjadi penurunan dan alih fungsi lahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis burung, menganalisis keanekaragaman dan kemelimpahan burung serta mendeskripsikan daya dukung lingkungan terhadap keanekaragaman burung di kawasan hutan mangrove Banyuurip. Sampling menggunakan pendekatan birdwatching dengan metode jelajah dengan berjalan sesuai jalur transek yang telah ditentukan sepanjang ± 150 meter yang terbagi menjadi tiga titik pengamatan. Keanekaragaman dianalisis menggunakan indeks keanekaragaman Shannon-Wiener, kemelimpahan dianalisis berdasarkan kemelimpahan relatif, dan daya dukung lingkungan dianalisis berdasarkan vegetasi dan faktor fisik lingkungan yang meliputi suhu dan kelembapan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di kawasan Hutan Mangrove Banyuurip terdapat 35 jenis burung yang termasuk 20 famili dan delapan ordo, yaitu Anseriformes, Apodiformes, Charadriiformes, Ciconiiformes, Columbiformes, Coraciiformes, Passeriformes, dan Piciformes dengan nilai indeks keanekaragaman sebesar 2,3 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Jenis burung yang paling melimpah adalah kuntul kecil (Egretta garzetta) sebesar 39,25%, blekok sawah (Ardeola speciosa) sebesar 14%, dan walet linci (Collocalia linchi) sebesar 7,8%. Selain itu, diketahui tujuh jenis vegetasi yang dominan dimanfaatkan dan mendukung keberadaan burung, yaitu Avicennia marina, Azadirachata indica, Rhizophora apiculata, R. mucronata, Calotropis gigantea, Morinda citrifolia, dan Pluchea indica. Kawasan hutan mangrove Banyuurip dapat mendukung kehidupan burung, bahkan di kawasan ini ditemukan enam jenis burung dalam status dilindungi.

Abstract

Kupang putih (Potamocorbula faba) dikenal sebagai produk perikanan yang potensial, tetapi juga berbahaya karena terkontaminasi oleh Pb. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh perlakuan konsentrasi dan waktu perendaman kitosan untuk menurunkan kadar Pb dalam daging kupang putih serta untuk menentukan kombinasi perlakuan terbaik dalam menurunkan kandungan Pb dalam daging kupang putih. Kitosan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah optimalisasi kitin hasil transformasi cangkang kupang dengan derajat deasetilasi 70,21%. Sampel kupang diambil dari muara sungai Kepetingan, Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan dua faktor, yaitu konsentrasi (0%, 1,5%, 2,0%, dan 2,5%) dan waktu perendaman (30, 60, dan 90 menit). Kadar Pb dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrometry). Pengaruh konsentrasi dan waktu perendaman terhadap kandungan Pb dalam daging kupang putih dianalisis dengan ANOVA dua arah dan dilanjutkan dengan uji LSD untuk menentukan pengobatan kombinasi terbaik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi dan waktu perendaman berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kandungan Pb di kupang putih. Kombinasi perlakuan kitosan yang dioptimalkan pada konsentrasi 2,0% dengan waktu perendaman 60 menit memberikan pengurangan Pb yang optimal, sebesar 94,53%. White Kupang (Potamocorbula faba) is known as potential fishery products, but on the other hand It is also dangerous because It's contaminated by Pb. This research aimed to describe the treatment effect of concentration and immersion time of chitosan to decrease the content of Pb in the white kupang's flesh as well as to define the best treatment combination in decreasing the content of Pb in the white kupang's flesh. The chitosan used in this research was optimized chitin resulted from the transformation of kupang shell with the degree of deacetylation 70.21%. The samples of kupang were taken from the estuary of the river Kepetingan, Sidoarjo. This research used completely randomized design with two factors treatment items, namely concentration (0%, 1.5%, 2.0%, and 2.5%) and immersion time (30, 60, and 90 minutes). The content of Pb was analyzed by using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrometry) method. The influence of concentration and immersion time to the content of Pb in the white kupang’s flesh was Analyzed by two-way ANOVA and Followed by LSD test to determine the best combination treatment. The results showed that the concentration and immersion time significantly affected on the content of Pb in white kupang. The combined treatment of optimized-chitosan at concentration of 2.0% with immersion time of 60 minutes gave the optimal reduction of Pb, amounting to 94.53%.

Abstract

Kupang merupakan nama lokal kerang kecil yang telah lama dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku pembuatan lontong kupang, makanan khas asal Sidoarjo dan Surabaya. Produksi lontong kupang dilakukan setiap hari sehingga dihasilkan limbah berupa cangkang kupang yang sangat melimpah. Limbah cangkang kupang tersebut berpotensi menjadi bahan alternatif pembuatan kitin dan kitosan, yang selama ini lebih banyak diekstraksi dari cangkang krustasea dan gastropoda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengekstraksi kitin dan kitosan dari limbah cangkang kupang putih (Potamocorbula faba) dan kupang merah (Muschulita senhausia) serta mengukur besar kandungan kitin dan kitosan tersebut. Sampel cangkang kupang diambil dari Desa Balongdowo, Candi, Sidoarjo. Pemurnian kitin dilakukan menggunakan metode Hong dan pembuatan kitosan dilakukan dengan metode Knorr. Validasi produk kitin dan kitosan dilakukan dengan spektrofotometer (Fourier Transform InfraRed) FTIR, kemudian hasilnya dianalisis menggunakan statistika deskriptif. Kitin yang didapat dari hasil deproteinasi dan demineralisasi limbah cangkang kupang merah dan putih sebesar 97% dan 93%. Kitosan yang didapat dari hasil deasetilasi limbah cangkang kupang merah dan putih sebesar 22% dan 16% dengan derajat deasetilasi masing-masing adalah 76,30% dan 70,21%. Kupang is small mussel that has been used by people of Sidoarjo and Surabaya as traditional food for a long time. Therefore, the waste of the shells is very abundant. The shells of those mussels are potential as raw materials of chitin and chitosan. This study aimed to extract chitin and chitosan from shells of white mussel (Potamocorbula faba) and red mussel (Muschulita senhausia) and measuring the content of chitin and chitosan. The samples of the shells are taken from the village of Balongdowo, Candi, Sidoarjo. Purification of chitin was performed using Hong’s method, while chitosan isolation is done by Knorr’s method. Identification of chitin and chitosan is done by FTIR (Fourier Transform InfraRed) spectrophotometer, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Chitin obtained from the results of demineralization-deproteination of red and white mussel shells were 97% and 93% respectively. Chitosan resulted from deacetylation of red and white mussel shells were 22% and 16% respectively; and the deacetylation degree were 76.30% and 70.21% respectively.

Abstract

Invertebrate is a very wide topic, that includes approximately eight phyla. Problem in teaching this topic is the limitation in time to achieve many learning indicators. The alternative efforts to overcome this problem is by implementing the blended learning. Blended learning is a kind of learning that combines face-to-face learning in the classroom and online learning that can be conducted everywhere. This study aimed to evaluate the learning process of blended learning using Schoology, student responses and students learning outcomes of invertebrate material through blended learning using Schoology. This research was conducted by involving 33 students of Grade X by using one group pre-test and post-test design. Data obtained were learning process based on lesson plan and student activities, student responses as well as students learning outcomes. Instruments used were observation sheets, responses questionnaires, as well as pretest and posttest sheets. The data of learning process and student activities were analyzed descriptive-quantitatively. Data of learning outcomes were analyzed based on learning mastery and gain score. The results of this study indicated that learning process of both face-to-face learning and online learning were very successful, students also gave very good responses to the implementation of blended learning. In addition, it’s proven that the implementation of blended learning can improve the student learning outcomes significantly.

Abstract

Activity-based books contain features that emphasize students’ activity, therefore suitable for Invertebrate learning, because have material characteristics that require practical activities. The purpose of this study was to produce activity-based textbooks on Animalia-Invertebrate material, which valid, practical, and easy to be used by senior high school 10th grade students. Meanwhile, the specific purposes of this research were to describe the validity of instructional textbook based on content, linguistic, and presentation validity; to describe the practicality of activity-based book based on the implementation of learning, book readability of textbooks using Fry chart; and to describe the student's response to the ease of use of activity-based textbooks on Animalia-Invertebrate materials by senior high school 10th grade students. This research was conducted from August 2017 until March 2018. This developmental research was referred to 4D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate), but disseminate stage was not done. The development of textbooks was conducted in the Biology department of UNESA and limited trials were conducted on 20 students of SMAN 12 Surabaya class of 10th MIA 2. Validation, practically based on implementation and readability, and student’s responses were analyzed descriptive-quantitatively. The results showed that the developed textbooks got a very decent category mode. The percentage of textbook implementation was 100% and the textbook readability was at the level of legibility of 10. In addition, the students gave positive responses, the average score was 99.74% (positive category). Hence, it can be concluded that the textbook was valid, practical, and easy to be used for Biology learning.

Abstract

Students’ learning interest still needs to be improved, one of the solutions is using the field trip method in a potential learning environment. Surabaya Zoo is a potential learning environment through real objects. The research aimed to produce Integrated Worksheet Based on a Field Trip and describe it’s validity and practicality. This research was developed used 4D models, without the disseminate stage. The development of the worksheet was conducted in September 2019 to May 2020 at the Biology Department of FMIPA Unesa, while validation and practicality data were collected in May 2020. Validation was carried out by three experts, while practicality was collected through respondents consisting of 5 educational practitioners and 22 students of 10th grade high school. The Grasha-Riechmann questionnaire survey was also conducted to determine students' feelings and attitudes through their learning styles. The results showed the validity of the Integrated Worksheet Based on a Field Trip got a score of 4 (very valid) while the practitioner's responses showed the value of mode 4 (very practical) and the results of the students' responses showed an average positive response rate of 91.08% (very good). Based on those results the Integrated Worksheet Based on a Field Trip was declared to be very practical so it’s appropriate to use. The most common learning styles among the students according to the Grasha-Riechmann questionnaire were Participant (45.5%) and Collaborative (31.8%).
