Abstract

The ability to make mathematical connections has an important role in the problem-solving process, while learning independence is an affective aspect that supports the learning process. This study aims to analyze the ability of mathematical connections based on learning independence. The research subjects consisted of 35 grade VII students at MTs Minat Cilacap. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques are in the form of mathematical connection ability tests, interviews, and learning independence questionnaires. Based on the questionnaire, students are categorized into high, medium, and low. Each category is taken by one student as a sample with a purposive sampling technique. The material used for the test is Social Arithmetic. Data analysis consists of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results show that students with high independence are able to relate mathematical concepts well and apply them in a variety of situations. Students with moderate independence have sufficient understanding, but still have difficulty in relating concepts thoroughly. Students with low independence experience obstacles in connecting mathematical concepts to other situations. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of implementing innovative learning strategies that can increase learning independence and mathematical connections. Abstrak: Kemampuan koneksi matematis memiliki peran yang penting dalam proses penyelesaian masalah sedangkan kemandirian belajar sebagai aspek afektif yang menunjang proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan koneksi matematis berdasarkan kemandirian belajar. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 35 siswa kelas VII di MTs Minat Cilacap. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes kemampuan koneksi matematis, wawancara, dan angket kemandirian belajar. Berdasarkan angket, siswa dikategorikan menjadi tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Setiap kategori diambil masing-masing satu siswa sebagai sampel dengan teknik purposive sampling. Materi yang digunakan untuk tes adalah Aritmatika Sosial. Analisis data terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan kemandirian tinggi mampu menghubungkan konsep matematika dengan baik dan menerapkannya dalam berbagai situasi. Siswa dengan kemandirian sedang memiliki pemahaman yang cukup, tetapi masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengaitkan konsep secara menyeluruh. Siswa dengan kemandirian rendah mengalami hambatan dalam menghubungkan konsep matematis dengan situasi lain. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya penerapan strategi pembelajaran inovatif yang dapat meningkatkan kemandirian belajar dan koneksi matematis.

Abstract

Ability is a skill of an individual in mastering a skill and being used to do various tasks in a job. Mothers are the most important role in the family when children are sick and mothers tend to be unprepared to deal with children with febrile seizures. However, based on the experience of mothers in Mander Village, Tambakboyo District, shows that there has been no socialization of emergency training using the chair side talk method on the mother's ability to handle febrile seizures in children. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of emergency training with the chair side talk method on the mother's ability to treat children's febrile seizures (RT 18 RW 09 Mander Village, Tambakbooyo District). The research method used is pre-experimental, with a one-group pre-post test design. The research sample was 28 women from Mander Village, Tambakboyo District who were selected by simple random sampling. SOP research instruments and questionnaire sheets. The analysis of this study used the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that most of the mothers' abilities in dealing with children with febrile seizures before being given training were categorized as incapable, and after being given emergency training using the chair side talk method, most of them were categorized as capable. The results of statistical tests showed that there was a difference in the ability of mothers to handle febrile seizures after being given training with the chair side talk method with p-value = 0.000 at a = 0.05 (p <0.05). It is hoped that after having the child's ability to have seizures, the mother can take care of the child during a seizure

Abstract

Penguatan pendidikan karakter melalui pembelajaran menjadi tuntutan Penguatan pendidikan karakter menjadi tuntutan penting pendidikan abad 21, namun sebagian besar Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) guru belum terintegrasi nilai-nilai Islam. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru SMP berbasis Islam di Banyumas, mencakup pemahaman konsep nilai-nilai Islam, keterampilan teknis penyusunan LKPD, dan kemampuan mengintegrasikannya ke materi ajar. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi pemberian materi dengan pendekatan kolaboratif, diskusi terarah untuk mengidentifikasi nilai Islam yang relevan, serta praktik penyusunan LKPD secara kelompok dengan umpan balik formatif. Peserta kegiatan adalah 20 guru SMP berbasis Islam di Banyumas. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi, penilaian produk LKPD menggunakan rubrik, dan angket respon peserta. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta, dengan 85% guru mampu menghasilkan rancangan LKPD yang memuat nilai kejujuran, tanggung jawab, dan kerja sama secara kontekstual. Pelatihan ini mendorong kesiapan guru mengimplementasikan LKPD berbasis nilai Islam di kelas, sehingga pembelajaran lebih bermakna, berkarakter, dan kontekstual. Model pelatihan ini berpotensi diadopsi di satuan pendidikan lain sebagai strategi pengembangan pembelajaran berbasis nilai Islam.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital banking in Indonesia has necessitated robust legal frameworks to protect digital bank users. This study examines the legal protection available to digital bank customers, focusing on the confidentiality of personal data and the responsibilities of banks under Indonesian law. Utilizing a normative juridical research method, the study relies on library research and an analysis of relevant laws and regulations. The findings reveal that the current legal framework for safeguarding the confidentiality of bank customer data in Indonesia is fragmented and lacks a unified regulatory approach. Legal protection remains incomplete, as it relies on the interplay of multiple regulations without offering comprehensive safeguards. Moreover, the existing mechanisms for addressing breaches of data confidentiality place responsibility primarily on banks, with criminal and administrative liabilities serving as the main avenues for recourse. The novelty of this research lies in its critical evaluation of the gaps in Indonesia's regulatory landscape concerning digital banking, highlighting the need for a cohesive legal framework to ensure stronger protections for customer data. This study contributes to the discourse on digital banking regulation by providing a nuanced understanding of the challenges in safeguarding customer data in Indonesia. It offers valuable insights for policymakers, legal practitioners, and financial institutions in enhancing data protection measures and fostering trust in digital banking.

Abstract

Mathematics and culture have a complex and mutually influential relationship. Mathematics is not only a tool for calculation or measurement but also reflects the values, traditions, and ways of thinking of a culture. The relationship between mathematics and culture is closely linked to ethnomathematics. Ethnomathematics is the study of how specific cultural groups understand, develop, and use mathematical concepts within their cultural contexts. This concept acknowledges that mathematics is not only a universal scientific discipline but is also influenced by cultural backgrounds, traditions, and social practices. The Saka Tunggal Grand Mosque in Wangon is one of the historically and culturally significant religious sites in Indonesia. Located in Banyumas Regency, Central Java, this mosque is renowned for its distinctive architecture and the spiritual values it embodies. The mosque was built with a design that reflects local wisdom and strong Islamic traditions, making it a symbol of unity and harmony among religious communities. One of the most intriguing aspects of the Saka Tunggal Grand Mosque is its single pillar, which serves as its hallmark, symbolizing strength and unity. This research employs a qualitative approach and an ethnographic method, involving interviews with mosque officials, as well as data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the architecture of the historic Saka Tunggal Grand Mosque in Cikakak, Wangon, not only conveys cultural values, spiritual activities, and history but also contains various mathematical concepts that can be examined through the lens of ethnomathematics. Various geometric shapes can be identified in the structure, such as the trapezoidal shape on the outer roof of the mosque, semicircles and rectangles on the windows and entrance, circles on the drum (bedug), rectangular beams in the building’s structure, and the main rectangular pillar of the Saka Tunggal Grand Mosque in Cikakak, Wangon.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir abstrak sangat dibutuhkan dalam memahami materi transformasi geometri, namun masih menjadi kendala bagi sebagian besar siswa SMP Istiqomah Sambas Purbalingga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesulitan berpikir abstrak siswa dalam lima indikator utama: representasi simbolik, identifikasi karakteristik objek, aplikasi konsep, keterkaitan antarproses, dan manipulasi abstrak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, analisis dokumen lembar kerja siswa, dan angket skala Likert. Subjek dipilih secara purposive berdasarkan variasi kemampuan siswa. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menggunakan bahasa dan simbol matematika secara tepat, membayangkan transformasi tanpa bantuan visual, serta memahami keterkaitan antarproses transformasi. Meskipun ada siswa yang mampu menunjukkan pemahaman prosedural dan representasi simbolik dasar, aspek verbal dan konseptual masih lemah. Temuan dari angket mendukung hal ini, dengan skor terendah pada indikator visualisasi spasial dan motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir abstrak siswa masih dalam tahap berkembang. Hasil ini memberikan dasar bagi pengembangan strategi pembelajaran berbasis visualisasi, diskusi konseptual, dan media interaktif untuk mendukung transisi dari berpikir konkret ke abstrak dalam materi transformasi geometri.

Abstract

Mathematics is often perceived as an abstract discipline detached from life values. However, in the perspective of Islamic education, knowledge should be integrated with spiritual and moral values. One form of such integration can be achieved through the development of mathematics teaching materials based on Islamic values. Nevertheless, the process of developing such materials faces various challenges, both conceptually, pedagogically, and technically. This study aims to identify and analyze the difficulties encountered in developing arithmetic teaching materials integrated with Islamic values for prospective teachers, as well as to examine the solutions proposed in previous research. The method employed is a systematic literature review, involving the collection, selection, analysis, and synthesis of relevant national and international studies. The results indicate that the difficulties in developing arithmetic teaching materials based on Islamic values can be categorized into three main aspects: conceptual, pedagogical, and technical-implementative difficulties. Conceptual difficulties arise from linking arithmetic concepts with Islamic values; pedagogical difficulties relate to the limited ability of prospective teachers to design contextual, value based learning; while technical and implementative difficulties concern limited resources, media, and assessment instruments. Several studies propose solutions such as integrative training for prospective teachers, the development of conceptual guidelines for integrating Islamic values into mathematical content, and the application of project-based and contextual learning approaches. Thus, this study provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges and future directions in developing Islamic value-based arithmetic teaching materials for prospective teachers.

Abstract

The limited development of creative thinking in mathematics education reflects a fundamental gap between conventional instructional practices and the cognitive demands of contemporary learning. Many learning environments still emphasize procedural knowledge, restricting students’ opportunities to generate, explore, and refine mathematical ideas. This study aims to examine how creative thinking can be fostered through the integration of problem posing and Project-Based Learning in mathematics education. A systematic literature review was conducted by analyzing selected peer-reviewed studies indexed in Scopus, focusing on instructional approaches that support creative thinking development. The analysis was guided by four key dimensions of creative thinking: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The findings reveal that problem posing functions as a generative mechanism that promotes idea production and originality, while Project-Based Learning operates as a contextual mechanism that supports idea refinement and elaboration. The interaction between these approaches facilitates the development of flexibility as a connecting dimension between idea generation and contextual application. Based on these findings, this study proposes an integrated conceptual model that explains how generative and contextual processes interact to support the multidimensional development of creative thinking. This model offers a more dynamic and process-oriented perspective that moves beyond the use of isolated instructional strategies. The study contributes to advancing theoretical understanding while also providing practical insights for designing mathematics learning environments that foster meaningful and sustainable creative thinking.

Abstract

Difficulties in connecting mathematics to everyday life based on Islamic values remain a challenge for students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs). This study aims to analyze the obstacles students face in applying mathematical concepts within an Islamic context at MTs MINAT Cilacap. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with three seventh-grade students selected through purposive sampling as subjects. Data collection was carried out through open-ended tests, semi-structured interviews, and observations, which were then analyzed using triangulation techniques. The results of the study indicate that high-achieving students can integrate mathematical concepts with Islamic principles when solving problems. However, some students struggle to connect problems, understand mathematical concepts, and relate them to Islamic teachings and real-life situations. The factors influencing these differences include understanding fundamental concepts, analytical thinking skills, and the ability to identify the relevance between mathematics and Islamic values.

Abstract

Technology integration in mathematics learning offers opportunities to make abstract concepts more concrete, interactive, and accessible. However, its implementation in schools often faces challenges related to teacher competence, student digital literacy, infrastructure, and learning distractions. This study aims to analyze the problems of technology utilization in mathematics learning from the perspectives of teachers and students and to identify possible strategies for optimizing its use. A qualitative phenomenological design supported by descriptive questionnaire data was employed. The participants consisted of three mathematics teachers and twelve junior high school students selected through purposive sampling because they had direct experience with technology-assisted mathematics learning. Data were collected through questionnaires, classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using an interactive qualitative model involving data condensation, data display, coding, theme development, and conclusion drawing, while questionnaire results were examined using descriptive statistics. The findings show that technology utilization in mathematics learning was categorized as good but not yet optimal, with an average score of 3.27 for teachers and 3.16 for students. Teachers generally used technology to deliver materials and visualize mathematical concepts, but they still encountered difficulties in designing interactive and problem-solving-based learning activities. Students perceived technology as helpful for understanding mathematics, particularly through visualization, yet they also experienced distractions, application-use difficulties, and limited internet access. These findings indicate that effective technology integration requires more than device availability; it depends on teacher readiness, students’ digital literacy, learning discipline, and institutional support. Therefore, continuous teacher training, digital literacy strengthening, adequate infrastructure, and blended learning implementation are recommended to optimize technology-supported mathematics learning.
