Abstract

Current IPB Center Library search engine has been developed to serve all users, independent of the special needs of any individual user. Personalized search is to carry out retrieval for each user incorporating his/her interest. This research propose a novel technique to learn user profile from user lending history to represent long-term interest and user search history to represent short-term interest. The user profiles are then used to improve retrieval effectiveness in online search. A general profile are learned from a category hierarchy. These two profiles are combined to map a user query into a set of categories which represent the user’s search intention and serve as context to disambiguate the words in the user’s query. Online search is conducted based on both the user query and the set of categories. Several profile learning and category mapping algorithms and a merging algorithm are evaluated. Experimental results indicate that this technique to personalize search is effective.

Abstract

Bogor Agricultural University library has metadata for its collection. The metadata is used for searching andbrowsing. The activity of searching and browsing can be based on metadata fields, such as title, author, subject, etc.Searching on the subject or topic is an effective way if someone want to search document that fulfill his/her topic.When someone search on a subject, the result is only documents that has the subject. So, someone needs to pick anappropriate query to find the desirable result. The decision for picking a query is based on how good the knowledge ofsomeone about the collection. It will be hard if someone does not know about the collection. In that case, we need anapplication that shows the relationship between the subject, so the related terms can be used as query suggestion forsomeone to decide his/her query. In order to make the view of relationship more interesting, understandable, andinteractive, the relationship is visualized. The result of this research is an implementation of a Java desktopapplication that searches document based on subject and visualize subject terms relationship. The documents are fromIPB thesis metadata. From 7445 documents, 7416 documents has subject field. Obtained 4496 unique terms fromthe 7416 document. From test result, the process to show document result and visualization is fast enough. Theaverage time to show document result and visualization is one second.

Abstract

Grey literature is one of library material types which can be accessed restrictedly by the patrons.The paradox is that grey literature contains very important information to support research andstudy. Therefore by building a digital library it is assumed both security and accessibility of users tothe grey literature content will be accomodated. Designing a digital library as an institutionalrepository for UPH by using the Zachman Framework will take a very important role in definingthe technical and normative features of an ideal digital library. In addition to, the exploration andmodification of DSpace by using Software Evolution method will also define the technical andnormative features of DSpace performance. The result of these will be compared to one another byusing a simple relevancy test procedure. The result are 90,625 % of relevancy degree on technicalfeatures and 95,7 % of relevancy degree on normative features. According to the result, it can beclaimed that a high relevancy degree is found between the pre-made architectural system of digitallibrary and the post-modification of DSpace program.Keywords: digital library, DSpace, grey literature, institutional repository, Zachman Framework.

Abstract

The study aims to usability analysis the National Library of Indonesia home page based the results of Paramjeet and Gupta research. The method used was think-aloud. In this method, one user was observed when doing the assignment and asked to express choices, feelings, or thoughts when testing the website.  There are seven phases in this method, i.e 1) literature study of  usability, usability testing and think- aloud, 2) self-evaluation of the home page of National Library of Indonesia website, conducted by comparing the results of Paramjeet and Gupta study, 3) determination of assessment parameters, 4) determination of the number and criteria of the respondents, 5) analysis of home page usability by the respondents, 6) analysis of  the results, conducted based on the respondent transcripts, and 7) recommendations. There were ten respondents, with medium internet literacy skill. They expressed their thoughts and feelings when testing the home page. There were criteria used in the assessment :1) the main features consist of logo and name of organization, about us, contact us, and archive and archiving; 2)URL (Uniform Resources Locator); 3) window title; 4) date and time; 5) writing content; 6) navigation; 7) search; 8) graphic and animation.Based on the analysis, it shows that home page of the National Library of Indonesia website needs to be improved. The improvements needed are: the addition of about us feature on the main menu; contact us becomes part of about us in the main menu; the results of the archive and archiving is in the form of title, in order to facilitate the information retrieval; the moving boxes in the navigation are replaced with fixed boxes using different colors with the color news; the search is equipped with advanced search, and graphics and animation should also be improved not only as a home page ornament.Keywords :National Library of Indonesia, think-aloud, usability.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Kode Funding Application is a cooperative mobile-based application which is a service product of PT Kodetag Global Teknotama. This application is designed to have features of cooperatives transactions, but it has not been designed with user experience (UX) and user interface optimization (UI) to meet the needs and achieve user satisfaction. As the consequence, when the user used the application, they faced difficulties in making transactions on the application such as data input errors. These following things will affect the performance of the user while making the transactions.The design of user experience and user interface optimization are designed to build an Android mobile application prototype for Koperasi Simpan Pinjam dan Pembiayaan Syariah (KSPPS) Kode Funding that is using the Five Planes Element of User Experience by Garrett (2011) and considering the aspects of usability and aesthetics. The evaluation was carried out using techniques such as think aloud and learnability assessment by testing 5 participants for a medium fidelity prototype. The final evaluation results on usability testing using task success get a 90% success rate for time and task completion. All participants can complete the proposed task. Meanwhile, the results of the time completion evaluation were calculated to be 5 out of 50 participants that exceeded the time limit. Participants assumed that the prototype with UX design giving a more attractive appearance and the better experience when using the application, as well as the availability of detailed transaction information. ABSTRAK Aplikasi Kode Funding adalah aplikasi koperasi berbasis mobile yang merupakan produk layanan dari PT Kodetag Global Teknotama. Aplikasi ini telah dirancang memiliki fungsi atau fitur transaksi pada koperasi, namun belum dilakukan perancangan user experience (UX) dan optimasi user interface (UI) untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dan mencapai kepuasan pengguna. Sehingga, ketika user menggunakan aplikasi tersebut, terdapat kesulitan dalam melakukan transaksi pada aplikasi seperti adanya kesalahan input data setoran. Hal berikut tentunya mempengaruhi performa dan kinerja dari pengguna aplikasi dalam bertransaksi.Perancangan user experience dan optimasi user interface dimaksudkan agar terbentuknya prototipe aplikasi mobile Android Koperasi Simpan Pinjam dan Pembiayaan Syariah (KSPPS) Kode Funding yang menggunakan metode Five Planes User Experience Elements oleh Garrett (2011) dengan mempertimbangkan aspek usability dan estetika. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan teknik think aloud dan penilaian learnability dengan pengujian pada 5 partisipan untuk medium fidelity prototype. Hasil akhir evaluasi pada usability testing menggunakan task success mendapatkan success rate sebesar 90% untuk time and task completion. Seluruh partisipan dapat menyelesaikan task yang diajukan. Sedangkan, hasil evaluasi dari pemenuhan waktu terdapat 5 dari 50 partisipan melebihi batas waktu. Partisipan menganggap pengembangan prototipe dengan perancangan UX memberikan dampak tampilan yang lebih menarik dan pengalaman menggunakan aplikasi yang lebih baik, serta adanya informasi transaksi yang lebih rinci.

Abstract

Digital services at universities have become necessary, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted universities. The transformation of the teaching and learning process and its supporting activities from face-to-face to online requires a support system that is inclusive and accessible to the entire higher education community. In 2020, Bogor Agricultural University launched the IPB Mobile for Students application which provides services for students digitally. This research was conducted to conduct an initial investigation of the use of the application. The investigation was carried out using a survey of 198 student respondents from the Bogor Agricultural University in February - March 2022. The questionnaire consisted of two parts: context questions to explore the use of IPB Mobile for Students by students and open questions to seek feedback from students. In general, the results of this initial investigation have insights regarding the use of digital services at IPB, especially in the IPB Mobile for Students application. It can be seen that digital services play an essential role in the teaching and learning process. Student engagement with digital services Reflects a changing pattern or transformation of the standard process for academic services in higher education. This study recommends further studies to examine the use of higher education digital services.

Abstract

Teknologi imersif seperti augmented reality, virtual reality, media sosial, avatar virtual, dan game online telah mendukung pendidikan. Pertanian, sebagai salah satu proses penting untuk kesejahteraan manusia, menuntut teknologi pendidikan yang kaya interaksi dan konten untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang lingkungan pertanian yang kompleks. Tren teknologi pendidikan saat ini mulai bergeser ke metaverse. Namun, ada kesenjangan antara penerapan teknologi imersif saat ini dan metaverse yang matang. Selain itu, penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan kurangnya penekanan pada teori pembelajaran, konten pembelajaran, dan elemen desain untuk aplikasi imersif dalam pendidikan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi kesenjangan tersebut, khususnya dalam pendidikan pertanian. Kami secara sistematis menganalisis publikasi sebelumnya yang mengembangkan aplikasi mendalam untuk pendidikan pertanian di pendidikan tinggi. Kami menyimpulkan bahwa (1) sebagian besar konten pembelajaran dan elemen desain teknologi metaverse kurang dimanfaatkan; (2) ada banyak kesenjangan implementasi antara implementasi saat ini dengan metaverse yang matang; dan (3) Pendidikan metaverse yang matang adalah kompleks dan mahal, sehingga perencanaan jangka panjang yang cermat dan mengidentifikasi kasus penggunaan dianjurkan. Kesenjangan ini penting untuk penelitian selanjutnya tentang pengembangan metaverse untuk pendidikan, terutama di bidang pertanian. Kami berharap hasil penelitian ini akan memberi pendidik pengetahuan dasar tentang teknologi metaverse untuk membuat keputusan yang lebih baik dalam memanfaatkan metaverse di lembaga pendidikan.

Abstract

In the Lennggahsari 02 State Elementary School, Kecamatan Cabangbungin, Kabupaten Bekasi, there were problems that started from the teacher's work discipline that needed to be improved. This is indicated by the existence of overlapping work activities, delaying some activities, limited management to innovate and the unintegrated work team of teachers. In terms of personnel, it can be seen that there are problems such as: There are teachers who come late from the appointed time, there are teachers who go home before the end of school hours, there are teachers who are not present without giving a clear reason. The existence of the above teacher discipline constraints can be caused by various factors, such as: Leadership, Planning, Directing, Coordination, Educational Administration, Organizational Culture, Organizational Behavior, Salary System, Position Promotion, Educational Background and Family. In this study, the author tries to examine work discipline in relation to educational planning and administration. The method used in this study is descriptive associative survey method. In this method there are at least two variables. This associative research is a relationship between two variables, namely education administration and teacher work discipline. Based on the formulation of the results of the research at the Lenggahsari State Elementary School 02 Lenggahsari Village, Branchbungin District, it is presented that there is a positive relationship between the Education Administration Variable (X) and the Teacher Work Discipline Variable (Y). The higher the value of Education Administration, the Discipline of Teacher Work will increase.

Abstract

The IPB Museum, located on the Darmaga Campus of IPB University, serves as a platform to showcase its rich history, developments, and future aspirations. University museums are vital institutions, embracing innovation and fostering communities of knowledge. Previous research emphasizes the impact of visitor experience on satisfaction and loyalty, highlighting the advantages of interactive technologies in museums for improved engagement and education. Evaluating technology's impact is crucial, and this study utilizes The Museum Tourism Experience and Experiential Value questionnaire to provide a baseline measurement and benchmark for future interventions, enabling a comprehensive evaluation of technology's impact on visitor experiences and satisfaction. In this study, 103 undergraduate students from the User Experience Design Course were invited to visit the IPB Museum to assess their experience using The Museum Tourism Experience and Experiential Value (MTEEV) questionnaire, which evaluates five aspects of the visitor experience. The students completed the questionnaire both before and after their visit, aiming to measure the impact of the museum visit on their perception and evaluate the effectiveness of the IPB Museum. The museum received lower ratings in visual appeal, entertainment, escapism, willingness to pay more, and imaginary vividness compared to visitors' past experiences, indicating potential areas for improvement to enhance the overall visitor experience. Lastly, we present our participatory strategy using MBKM and the capstone program to improve the museum experience.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengaruh Inklusi Keuangan Syariah terhadap kesejahteraan ekonomi masyarakat minoritas muslim di Kota Palopo, Indonesia. Dengan memakai data survei primer dari 118 responden, analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa inklusi keuangan syariah yang lebih baik mempunyai pengaruh positif yang signifikan secara statistik terhadap kesejahteraan ekonomi. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah inklusi keuangan syariah menjadi sesuatu yang penting dalam menentukan kesejahteraan ekonomi masyarakat minoritas muslim di Kota Palopo, sehingga pihak keuangan syariah perlu meningkatkan hal ini.
