Abstract

Coffee is an internationally traded commodity that has been affected by both the pandemic and the global economic downturn. However, the success of a national coffee company that was valued at one billion dollars demonstrates that coffee demand has a lot of potential. This study will use a qualitative research approach to find out what students think about the potential for the national coffee business following the pandemic. This student is a one-of-a-kind resource who has completed Prasetiya Mulya University's Coffee Business and Management Course. According to the findings of this study's thematic analysis, after the pandemic, perceptions of coffee trends and business prospects are projected to rise, but this will result in more intense competition among business actors. Coffee consumption habits, on the other hand, are predicted to be maintained during the pandemic, from buying liters of coffee to ordering via apps to the practice of brewing coffee at home.

Abstract

This study is a perpetuation of the action research process carried out at Bumdesa Mitra Cibogo Sejahtera in Cisauk District, Tangerang Regency. This study was performed to understand the future of bumdesa performance in the village by considering aspects of past and current performance. The application of the principle of scenario planning is a relevant way to provide options for describing potential scenarios without disturbing the performance of the observed bumdesa unit. This scenario planning adapts the soft system dynamics (SSDM) methodological approach which is considered to be able to accommodate problematic situations in villages that deal more with human beings. The observed village conditions are problematic because bumdesa has a strategic role and a strong relationship with the authority of the village head. The outcome of the scenario planning described in the matrix map show that the condition of Cibogo Village can choose the optimistic option because of the strong support of the village head and the agile performance of the bumdesa. The potential analysis of the results of this scenario can be a reference for the needs analysis of Bumdesa Mitra Cibogo Sejahtera to identify asset and resource needs in the future.

Abstract

Abstract

Coffee is a valuable commodity whose popularity is increasing and substantially contributes to economic growth. Coffee is an essential asset on a global scale, and the market has been continuously rising over the past 30 years. Temanggung, in Central Java, is one of the most well-known coffee-producing regions with a unique character. Temanggung is remarkable because it has two geographical indication certificates, Sindoro Sumbing Arabica, and Temanggung Robusta, and is the largest Arabica and Robusta coffee-producing area in Central Java. This study aimed to investigate the competitive landscape using Porter's Five Forces by applying qualitative research to the coffee business in Temanggung. The study's findings revealed that by understanding the capabilities of each force in the industry for each category of business actor and coffee bean type, stakeholders could gain unique knowledge about the coffee industry, particularly the problems throughout the value chain. This research is useful in assisting business actors and other stakeholders in making the best possible decisions. Finally, this research can assist central and local governments in efficiently promoting Indonesia's increasingly promising coffee sector in the future.

Abstract

SMEs in rural areas have characteristics that are closely related to the character of a family business. This can be seen in the management of the SME business which is fully controlled by the family. This situation shows that SMEs in rural areas are more dominated by family-owned SMEs. As a family-owned SME, this village entrepreneur has a big challenge to be able to regenerate the business for the next generation. This study seeks to identify the things that affect the dynamics in realizing the sustainability of family-owned SMEs in the village. This study uses a qualitative approach by conducting interviews through purposive sampling to culinary informants who run their businesses in rural areas and have the next generation. The results of the study show that in addition to all SMEs in the village being dominated by family businesses, these SMEs have hopes that their families will continue their business, but on the other hand it was also found that there are SMEs who do not care who will continue their business. This study produces interesting findings that can be developed to help improve the sustainability of SME development in Indonesia.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum through strengthening the Pancasila profile project at the primary and secondary education levels is a valuable breakthrough to strengthen the competence of the nation's students. This implementation needs to be supported by strengthening teacher skills and their ability to manage the learning process. Entrepreneurship turns out to have a positive impact in accommodating the Merdeka Curriculum through creativity and innovation that connect each other. The community service program at ABC Foundation (pseudonym) by strengthening teacher entrepreneurship skills through product prototype training provides evidence that entrepreneurial initiatives can stimulate teacher creativity to create creative products. Through this program, it is hoped that teachers will be inspired to design more creative entrepreneurship-oriented learning models so that they can encourage the realization of the Merdeka Curriculum in a more comprehensive manner.

Abstract

The enactment of the Village Law marks the beginning of the rural development transformation through Village Owned Enterprise (VOE) implementation. In Indonesia, 45,549 VOEs have been established in 83,931 villages. VOEs are developed with a social business model to provide economic and social benefits to the community. Unfortunately, VOEs demonstrating satisfying performance in Indonesia have not reached 600. This research focused on discovering significant factors influencing VOEs’ ability to accomplish their best economic and social performance and proposed a success pattern that other VOEs could adapt to their natural and human assets. This study adopted a qualitative mono-method with 24 sources, varying from village government officers, directors and personnel of VOEs, academicians, and other parties, focusing on exploring three VOEs with accomplishments. The findings uncovered six propositions that must be fulfilled for VOEs to attain the necessary success concerning social and economic performance. These results suggested that the village government’s commitment, the VOEs’ management professionalism, and the village community’s involvement must cooperate to produce a balanced social and economic performance. This discovery also suggested VOEs to reflect and reproduce local knowledge trough take an advantage of their distinctive natural and human resources.

Abstract

Small and medium industrial (SMI) centers are one of the contributors to the national economy performance. Several programs carried out across stakeholders are directed at being able to strengthen SMI centers to become more competitive. Previous research has not described how social interaction patterns emerge in the context of collaboration or conflict in an industrial center. This research was conducted to explore more about patterns of entrepreneurial interaction that occurred in SMI centers in West Java and Central Java. This study uses a qualitative approach by taking informant samples of SMI centers that are typical in 10 regencies and cities. The results of this study are described through several main points of discussion: (1) center institutions and challenges within them, (2) micro partnerships between SMIs, and (3) conflict of interest between craftsmen within the centers.
