Abstract

Abstract This research was aimed to identifiaty qualitative and quantitative phenotypic polymorphism of Sikumbang Jonti Duck in Kecamatan Payakumbuh Timur Kota Payakumbuh Sumatera Barat. This research used 206 Sikumbang Jonti duck that were sexual maturity (22-48 weeks), divided of 50 males and 156 females. The qualitative traits observeted were head color, neck color, breaks color, back color, primary wings color, tail color, thigh color, bill color, and shank color. The quantitative traits observed were body weight (kg), beak width (cm), beak length (cm), neck length (cm), wing length (cm), femur length (cm), tibia length (cm), shank length (cm), back length (cm), number of primary wing feathers (strands), number of secondary wing feathers (strands), pelvic width (cm), and chest circumference (cm). The result showed that color of Sikumbang Jonti duck was dominated by white. Male Sikumbang Jonti duck had color head was white-black, and female had color head was white. In addition, the Sikumbang Jonti duck had green primary wing feathers like a beetle. The coefficient of diversity of the Sikumbang Jonti duck was low for beak width, tibia length (female), number of primary wing feathers, and number of secondary wing feathers, moderate value for body weight, beak length, neck length, wing length, femur length (female), length tibia (male), shank length, back length, perlvis width (females), and chest circumference (males), and high value for femur length (males). Keywords: Duck morphometric; Germplasm; Pattern color; Payakumbuh; Sumatera barat Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengindentifikasi keragaman fenotipe kualitatif dan kuantitatif itik Sikumbang Jonti di Kecamatan Payakumbuh Timur Kota Payakumbuh Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan 206 ekor itik Sikumbang Jonti yang sudah dewasa kelamin (22 – 48 minggu), terdiri dari 50 ekor jantan dan 156 ekor betina. Sifat kualitatif yang diamati adalah warna bulu head, warna bulu neck, warna bulu breaks, warna back, warna primary wings, warna tail, warna thigh, warna bill, dan warna shank. Sifat kuantitatif yang diamati adalah bobot badan (kg), lebar paruh (cm), panjang paruh (cm), panjang leher (cm), panjang sayap (cm), panjang femur (cm), panjang tibia (cm), panjang shank (cm), panjang punggung (cm), jumlah bulu sayap primer (helai), jumlah bulu sayap sekunder(helai), lebar pelvis (cm), dan lingkar dada (cm). Hasil menunjukkan warna bulu itik Sikumbang Jonti didominasi dengan warna bulu putih. Warna bulu kepala itik Sikumbang Jonti jantan berwarna putih-hitam, sedangkan itik Sikumbang Jonti betina berwarna putih. Selain itu, itik Sikumbang Jonti memiliki warna bulu sayap primer berwarna hijau seperti kumbang. Koefisien keragaman itik Sikumbang Jonti bernilai rendah untuk lebar paruh, panjang tibia (betina), jumlah bulu sayap primer, dan jumlah bulu sayap sekunder, bernilai sedang untuk bobot badan, panjang paruh, panjang leher, panjang sayap, panajng femur (betina), panjang tibia (jantan), panjang shank, panjang punggung, lebar perlvis (betina), dan lingkar dada (jantan), dan bernilai tinggi untuk panjang femur (jantan). Keragaman fenotipe kualitatif dan kuantitatif pada itik Sikumbang Jonti relatif seragam, kecuali pada fenotipe kuantitatif panjang femur pada itik Sikumbang Jonti jantan memiliki keragaman tinggi. Abstract

The study was aimed to define the morphogenetic characteristics of native song fowl chickens of West Sumatra called Kokok Balenggek. Sixty Kokok Balenggek chickens raised by farmers in Tigo Lurah sub district, Solok district were used as samples. They consisted of 40 males and 20 females. Both qualitative and quantitative morphogenetic data were collected and measured, including: color of feather and shank; form of comb; length of tars metatarsus, tibia, femur; body weight and distance between pelvis bone by females. By males, feather color of Kokok Balenggek chickens were dominated by wild feather type (e+) and silver (S) of 42,5 % and 22,5 %, respectively. Comb were mostly single form (90 %). While feather color of females were dominated by black (S) and white (25 % each), pea comb (90 %), shank color of white yellow (Id) (85 %). Length of metatarsus for male and females of 100,2 + 11,05 mm, 80,03 + 8,64 mm; tibia of 134,40 + 18,73 and 117,14 + 10,24 mm; femur of 103,36 + 16,94 and 85,63 + 11,47 mm; body weight of 1,74 + 0,46 kg and 1,1 + 0,62 kg/head, respectively. Data of distance length between pelvis bone by females were found 41,17 + 4,32 mm.

Abstract

Program UPSUS SIWAB adalah Upaya Khusus Sapi Indukan Wajib Bunting yang merupakan keberlanjutan proram pemerintah dari program swasembada daging. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untukmengetahui implementasi teknologi reproduksi melalui program UPSUS SIWAB dan ruang lingkup berbagai aspekterhadap pemberdayaan masyarakatdi Kecamatan Bayang, Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penyuluhan atau sosialisasi, survey dengan hasil wawancara langsung, dan kuisioner dengan masyarakat berbagai kalangan, dan peternak. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Kegiatan ini di Kecamatan Bayang, Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan program UPSUS SIWAB tahun 2018 di Kecamatan Bayang, Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan belum 100% terlaksana, namun informasi program UPSUS SIWAB ini diketahui peternak sebanyak 80% dari penyuluhan Dinas Peternakan dan 20% lainnya dari sesama peternak. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan atau sosialisasi yang dilakukan pemerintah belum menjangkau semua peternak yang ada di Kecamatan Bayang. Sementara itu, ruang lingup berbagai aspek di Kecamatan Bayang ini, sudah cukup baik pasca pelaksanaan beberapa pemberdayaan terhadap masyarakat. Diharapkan pemerintah melakukan monitoring dan evaluasi pencapaian dari program UPSUS SIWAB. Selain itu, perlu kesadaran dari masyarakat terhadap keberlanjutan dalam berbagai aspek, sehingga dapat berjalan dengan baik.

Abstract

Pitalah ducks, a germplasm of West Sumatra, have been established through the Ministerial Decree No. 293/kpts/OT.140/6/2011. The consequence of the stipulation is seen as important in maintaining the population and purity of Pitalah ducks through the selection activities of the parents and the cultivation of Pitalah ducks in Batipuh District as an area of Pitalah ducks. One effort is to empower students to the village. The specific purpose of this activity is the development, cultivation and post-harvest processing to increase community income. This activity involved 36 Unand students. The methods used include debriefing the students, socialization activities and designing the work plans and last workshop on activity plans. The implementation of activities, namely hatching eggs produced from productive broodstock from flocks made based on the characteristics of Pitalah ducks, the from hatching is intensively cultivated so that mortality is lower and growth is faster. The growth period ducks are maintained in a semi-intensive manner utilizing local food sources namely taro, water hyacinth, ampo rice plus bran, corn and snail so that the price of feed can be cheaper. Postharvest processing is carried out by providing some innovations in processing eggs and duck meat into rendang suir, rendang eggs, various variants of salted eggs that can improve people's health and income. Based on the results of the activities that have been carried out, it can be concluded that there is a good response for the target community and local government, especially in the Batipuh sub-district, Tanah Datar Regency.

Abstract

Kamang duck is a local poultry germ plasm of West Sumatra originating from Tilatang Kamang District. The number of 31 students from various faculties held in this program. This activity aims to provide a technology package of mating systems and management of hatcheries to improve the productivity of Kamang duck. in addition it also provides training for the processing of eggs and un productive Kamang duck to become innovation product like rendang egg and rendang suir, and feed processing technologies base on locally sourced. The final goal was to increase productivity, and efficiency of processing livestock feed costs for the development and preservation of germplasm Kamang duck well as an increase in the income of livestock in Koto Kanagarian Tangah District of Tilatang Kamang. The method used in this service program is counseling, demonstration, training, coaching and the provision of technological packages, as well as observation and evaluation and data collection to measure the parameters of the success of the programs. The implementation of KKN PPM starts from pre-KKN, survey and implementation in the field for 40 days, starting from 14th July until 14th August 2017. The result of activity got very positive response from society, government and related offices. KKN-PPM program activity was conducted on four region in Koto Tangah village Tilatang Kamang, Agam District of West Sumatra, namely "jorong Aua, jorong Baringin, Jorong Pandan dan Luak Tunggang Giriang-Giriang". Community service activities are carried out in farmer groups of got a good response from the village government and farmers in this village. Perternak urgently need practical knowledge that can support their farm businesses, such as hatcheries, processing of livestock products to increase the income of farmers. Hatchability of Kamang duck eggs about 75%, knowledge of selecting and hatching in Aur Mekar and Svarbnabhumi Livestock Group in Nagari Tilatang Kamang is needed because this group has the potential for producing livestock breed of Kamang duck if it can apply good farming techniques appropriate to the local environment.

Abstract

Kegiatan Program IbM ini dilaksanakan pada dua kelompok ternak Ayam Kukuak Balenggek (AKB) di daerah insitu di Kenagarian Rangkian Luluih Kecamatan Tigo Lurah Kabupaten Solok dan DI daerah exsitu pada Kelompok Peternak AKB Kinantan Bagombak di Ampang Kualo Kota Solok. Khalayak sasaran program IbM adalah masyarakat peternak AKB dan masyarakat yang berminat untuk menjadi peternak AKB baik di daerah insitu maupun exsitu.. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan dan paket teknologi song learning, perbaikan sistem perkawinan inbreeding terkendali dan manajemen pemeliharaan khususnya pemberian creep feeding pada periode anak (starting period) demi meningkatkan produktifitas, mengurangi angka kematian dan pelestarian AKB. Teknologi untuk memproduksi pakan ayam yang diberikan berbasis pakan lokal dan sumber protein yang murah dan mudah dijangkau sebagai pengganti pakan komersial. Muara akhir dari kegiatan ini adalah peningkatan populasi AKB yang berkualitas dan penyediaan bibit AKB di daerah insitu dan exsitu, peningkatan produktifitas, dan efisiensi biaya pakan dalam rangka pengembangan dan pelestarian plasma nutfah Ayam Kukuak Balenggek di Kelompok Peternak AKB di Kanagarian Batu Bajanjang Kecamatan Tigo Lurah Kabupaten Solok (insitu) dan di kelompok peternak AKB Kinantan Bagombak di Kota Solok (eksitu). Metode yang digunakan dalam program pengabdian ini yaitu penyuluhan,peragaan, pelatihan, pembinaan dan pemberian paket teknologi, sekaligus pengamatan dan evaluasi dan pengambilan data untuk mengukur parameter keberhasilan dari program yang dijalankan.

Abstract

UPSUS SIWAB Program is a Special Effort for Obligatory Bovine Cows which is a continuation of the government's program of self-sufficiency in meat. The purpose of this activity was to analyze breeders' knowledge and evaluate the success of the program in Bayang District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The method used was a survey method with the results of direct interviews, and questionnaires with various community groups, and farmers. Data analysis used descriptive analysis. The result showed that the implementation of the UPSUS SIWAB program in 2018 in Bayang Subdistrict, Pesisir Selatan Regency has not been 100% implemented. However, the information of this special program was known by farmers, as much as 80% from the Animal Husbandry Department's counseling and 20% from fellow breeders. This shows that the counseling or socialization conducted by the government has not reached all farmers in Bayang District. Meanwhile, the results of the performance of this program were the number of acceptors who have been at IB in 2017 (1,213 individuals) and increased by 73% in 2018 (2,100 individuals). There were the number of Artificial Insemination in 2017 (1,314 times) and increased by 92% in 2018 (2,526 times), the number of acceptors pregnant in 2017 (1,158) and decreased by 2% in 2018 (1,136), the number of births in 2017 (766) and decreased by 80% in 2018 (151 tails).

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine external genetic characteristic that contents cualitatif and cuantitatif traits native chicken at Sungai Pagu Solok Selatan region. This reseachs using 150 native chicken which is 50 male and 100 female in mature period. Reseachs method by survey and sampling method using multi stage random sampling. Data analized by statistic descriptive. Results of this research showed that feather color of male is wild feather type 38%, gold 22%, black 14%, white 10%, bar 10%, and columbian 6%. Single comb pattern 44%, rose 32%, pea 16%, and walnut 4%. Legs color skin(shank) yellow/white 74% and black 26%. Feather color at female is black 50%, bar 17%, gold 12%, white 10%, wild feather type 5%, columbian 4% and white silver(S) 2%. Pea comb pattern 48%, walnut 25%, single 21%, rose 6%. Legs color skin yellow/white 66% and black 34%. The male length of tarsometatarsus was 103.60 mm, tibia 144.48 mm, femur 109.24 mm, comb height 23.15 mm, body weight 1.90 kg, wing length 218.41 mm, length of third legs toe 73.20 mm. While, on the female has length of tarsometatarsus 81.07 mm, tibia 125.34 mm, femur 95.39 mm, comb height 9.89 mm, body weight 1.36 kg, measures of os pubic 30.06 mm, wing length 188.65 mm, and length of third legs toe were 63.52 mm.

Abstract

This research aimed to identify polymorphism of the GH gene in Sikumbang Jonti ducks using the PCR-RFLP (polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism) method as a candidate for genetic marker selection. This research used 123 blood samples of male and female Sikumbang Jonti ducks. The ducks were eight weeks old and kept intensively at the UPT Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Andalas. Blood samples of Sikumbang Jonti ducks were taken through the brachial vein as much as ± 2 mL. The Genomic DNA Purification Kit (Promega) protocol isolated DNA from blood samples. A pair of primers F amplified the total DNA: 5'-GGA CAG CCT GAG GAA AGA GT-3 'and R: 5'-GTG GAA GGT GGG GAG ACT TC-3', which produced a fragment region of the GH gene exon 3 with a cut region of part intron two and part intron 3 with a primary length of 833 bp. The amplified product was restricted by the enzyme TasI which recognizes the cutting site (↓AATT). Based on the restriction results, two (2) genotypes were obtained, namely homozygous (-/-) as many as four (4) and homozygous (+/+) as many as 119. The analysis of restriction products included the allele frequency, namely the allele (+) of 0.98 and the allele (-) of 0.02, and genotypes frequency of homozygous (-/-) of 0.03 and homozygous genotypes (+/+) of 0.97. The diversity of the GH gene is in the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is diversity in the GH gene of the Sikumbang Jonti duck, and it is in the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, so it can be used as a candidate for the genetic marker of ducks.
