Abstract

Quality control (QC) is a process in monitoring and evaluating activity at the analytical stage, quality control aims to monitor accuracy, precision, LeveyJennings graphs, Westgard rules and six sigma to detect errors in laboratory examinations immediately and determine the performance of the laboratory. This research was conducted to find out how the quality control of SGOT and SGPT enzyme examinations is carried out in PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital laboratory. This research uses a quantitative descriptive research method with a cross sectional approach. The data used in this research was secondary data for daily control of SGOT and SGPT examinations for July-December 2023. The data obtained would be processed using Microsoft Excel by creating a Levey-Jennings graph then evaluated using Westgard rules and calculating the mean, SD, CV, TV values, TE, bias and six sigma Based on the research conducted, it was found that the results of the Levey-Jennings graph for the SGOT and SGPT parameters were not affected by the wetsgard rule. The accuracy and precision values for SGOT and SGPT showed high results. The six sigma value for SGOT examination parameters was 6.5 and for SGPT was 8.2. The six sigma value was included in the world class category with very good laboratory performance.

Abstract

This study explores using social media as an innovative tool for teaching English in resource-limited secondary schools. In the face of technological disparities and limited educational resources, particularly in underfunded or remote areas, integrating platforms such as WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok presents an engaging and accessible approach to enhance English language instruction. Using a mixed-methods design, data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and classroom observations involving English teachers and students in Samarinda, Indonesia. Findings show that social media increases student motivation, participation, and comprehension through authentic content and multimodal interaction. Teachers observed that learners responded positively to creative, structured activities delivered via social platforms. However, significant challenges were identified, including unequal access to the internet and devices, digital distractions, and insufficient teacher training in educational technology. Despite these barriers, both teachers and students acknowledged the potential of social media to enrich the language learning process when supported by effective instructional strategies. The study recommends teacher training on digital pedagogy, infrastructure improvement, and the development of clear guidelines for integrating social media into formal education. Ultimately, the research contributes valuable insights into how familiar digital tools can support English language learning in contexts where traditional resources are scarce

Abstract

This research investigates the perceptions of students and English teachers at SMK Negeri 15 Samarinda regarding the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) and its role in fostering deep learning in vocational education. Using a quantitative descriptive method, data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 90 eleventh-grade Automotive Engineering students and five English teachers. The student questionnaire assessed Experience, Involvement, and Understanding, while the teacher questionnaire examined the Perceived Benefits and Challenges of PBL. The instruments were found to be valid and reliable, with Cronbach’s Alpha values ranging from 0.76 to 0.77. Findings revealed that students generally perceived PBL positively, with mean scores indicating frequent engagement in practical tasks, moderate to high participation, and improved comprehension. Teachers also expressed strong support for PBL, particularly for its ability to enhance critical thinking, collaboration, and independent learning. Although some challenges such as time constraints and resource limitations were noted, they were not viewed as critical barriers. Correlation analysis showed significant relationships among all three student variables at the 0.01 level. Notably, Involvement and Understanding were strong predictors of Experience, as shown by a regression model with a correlation coefficient (R) of .762. Overall, the findings affirm PBL’s effectiveness in promoting deep learning and 21st-century competencies in vocational contexts. While challenges exist, both student and teacher perspectives support PBL as an adaptable and impactful instructional approach. These insights contribute to the growing body of research supporting PBL's application in Indonesian vocational high schools.

Abstract

This research investigated how contextual learning influences students’ motivation and English proficiency in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classes for automotive engineering students. Motivated by the disconnect between general English curricula and students’ vocational goals, this research applies contextual strategies aligned with the ARCS motivational model—Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction. A total of 91 students participated, and data were collected using a validated questionnaire. Statistical analyses, including Cronbach’s alpha (0.851), descriptive statistics, t-tests, and multiple regression, were used. The findings reveal that contextual learning significantly enhances students’ motivation, especially in the areas of relevance and attention, and contributes positively to their English language performance. Regression analysis showed that motivational factors explained 18.1% of the variance in English proficiency scores, with “Relevance” emerging as the strongest predictor. Students reported higher satisfaction and engagement when learning materials reflected their professional context. This research confirms that integrating real-world content into ESP instruction not only improves student motivation but also supports linguistic outcomes. These results advocate for ESP curricula that are closely tied to industry-related content to better equip vocational students for future professional demands.

The informants in this research were teachers, head of madrasah, head of library, and head of facilities and infrastructure at MAN 1 Tasikmalaya City. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative analysis techniques which included data collection, data testing, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Meanwhile, to check the validity of the data, researchers used validity and reliability tests with the IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0 MacOS application. The results of this research indicate that the level of tendency for management of facilities and infrastructure and the quality of learning at MAN 1 Tasikmalaya City is in the medium category. In the determination test that was carried out, the calculation result was 29.8%, this figure means that the classroom management variable has an influence on learning motivation, while 70.2% is another factor that was not studied. Then the influence of facilities and infrastructure management on improving the quality of learning at MAN 1 South Tangerang City, based on the results of statistical testing (T-test). With the test criteria if the significance value is < α (0.05) then there is an influence. The results of the T-Test carried out obtained a significance value of 0.000, where it can be seen that 0.000 < 0.005 means that there is a significant influence between the management of facilities and infrastructure on improving the quality of learning at MAN 1 Tasikmalaya City.
