The research methods used are qualitative methods with primary informants coming directly from the head of Akmil and staff, village communities, community leaders, village officials, Babinsa and Babinkamtibmas. From the results of research conducted, it was concluded that the action of the Military Academy unity with the community in the Jogomulyo Village training area was carried out through various activities, namely Karya bakti, Prodi community service and social service. The main key driving factor in the success of the program to support defense is the commitment of the entire leadership of the Military Academy to always establish unity with the community through various empowerment to improve the welfare of the community in the Cadet Training Area. Abstract

This research examines transparency issues in the financial report management of Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) in Karimun Regency through a literature study approach. The research shows that BUMDs in Karimun Regency experienced a total absence of annual financial report publications in the 2023-2024 period, reflecting a serious deficit in accountability and governance. Analysis from various credible sources, including SINTA-indexed journal articles and institutional reports, identifies several main factors causing weak transparency, including: low commitment to implementing Good Corporate Governance principles, civil servant concurrent position practices that create conflicts of interest, and gaps between regulations and their implementation in the field. The research findings show that this absence of transparency has serious implications for the lack of public accountability, high risk of authority abuse, weakened oversight, and hindered achievement of BUMD objectives to contribute to the regional economy. The research recommends strengthening political commitment from local governments, optimizing the supervisory function of the Regional Parliament (DPRD), comprehensive implementation of Good Corporate Governance principles by BUMD management, utilization of information technology for report publication, and increasing the active role of civil society in public oversight.

The Riau Islands area as an international border area has a high intensity of marine activities, so it is prone to various forms of law violations. The Riau Islands Marine Police (Ditpolairud Polda Kepri) as a law enforcement institution in the waters often handles cases involving foreign citizens. Therefore, the assistance of an English interpreter is an important factor in speeding up and smoothing the examination process. This service activity aims to increase the capacity of interpreters and Gakkum Ditpolairud Polda Kepri personnel in supporting the effectiveness of case investigations. The methods used include training, direct assistance, case simulation, and evaluation. The results of the activity showed that the assistance of interpreters was able to increase the efficiency of examination time, improve the quality of examination minutes, and strengthen the juridical aspect of the case. Abstract

Science literacy is one of the important competencies that must be possessed by the academic community in dealing with the development of science, technology, and the dynamics of global issues. However, there is still a gap in access to the latest scientific references in various university libraries in Indonesia. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to improve science literacy through the distribution of ISU GLOBAL: Multidisciplinary Approaches in the Transformation and Development of Global Issues to a number of university libraries in Indonesia. The activity was carried out through a collaboration between the Defense University of the Republic of Indonesia, the Batam Tourism Polytechnic, and the Magelang Military Academy as a form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The implementation method includes identifying library needs, coordinating with recipient universities, distributing books, handing over collections, and evaluating the use of books as learning references. The results of the activity show that the addition of reference collections on global issues enriches the learning resources of students and lecturers, supports the development of science literacy, and strengthens the reading culture in the university environment. This activity also shows that collaboration between higher education institutions is able to expand the impact of community service in supporting the improvement of the quality of higher education in Indonesia.
