Abstract

The low learning outcomes in the cognitive aspects of class IV A students using mathematics subject matter is the background to the problem of this research. The aim of conducting the research is to describe the implementation of student activities and learning outcomes on students' cognitive aspects in implementing the Project Based Learning model integrated with Culturally Responsive Teaching with network materials. Kemmis and Taggart's model in the pre-cycle and 2 learning cycles including planning, implementation, observation and reflection is used in this classroom action research method. The research subjects were 29 students in class IV A of SDN Dukuh Kupang III/490 Surabaya. Tests and observations are used to obtain research data. The data obtained was analyzed using techniques, namely descriptive qualitative. The results of research on the implementation of student activities in cycle I included a percentage of 57.5%, while in cycle II the percentage increased by 32.5% to 90%. Learning outcomes in the cognitive aspect of students also show a percentage increase. The first cycle component showed 45% (13) complete learning and 55% (16) incomplete learning and an average class score of 65.17. Meanwhile, the second cycle component showed 83% (24) learning completeness and 17% (5) incomplete learning and an average class score of 85.86. From the research data obtained, it can be said that the application of the Project Based Learning model integrated with Culturally Responsive Teaching has been proven to improve the learning outcomes of class IV elementary school students.

Abstract

Mathematics learning is often found in everyday life, such as fractions. Fractions are part of a whole. There are various kinds of fractions, namely simple fractions and non-simple fractions. Non-simple fractions are fractions whose numerator can still be simplified further by using area-wide image media to improve the ability to add fractions of class IV students at SDN Banjarsugihan 1/116 Surabaya. The purpose of this research is to determine the use of area-wide image media to increase students' ability to add fractions. Class IV students at SDN Banjarsugihan 1/116 Surabaya. The form of this research is Classroom Action Research using the Cycle model. Each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely: planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. As subjects were Class IV students at SDN Banjarsugihan 1/116 Surabaya, totaling 26 students. Subjects were taken using a quantitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and written tests. The results from cycle I experienced an increase in value of ≥ 0.4 in the moderate improvement category, while in cycle II a value of ≥ 0.7 was obtained in the high improvement category. Based on this research, it can be concluded as follows: The use of area-wide image media can increase the ability to add fractions to class IV students at SDN Banjarsugihan 1/116 Surabaya.

Abstract

Mathematics teaching that focuses on understanding concepts and passive knowledge transfer hinders the development of students' critical thinking skills. The pretest results for geometry scored only 52, below the minimum mastery criteria (KKM), indicating incomplete learning. The type of research conducted is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of this study were 27 second-grade students in the 2023/2024 academic year. The procedure followed in this classroom action research, using a spiral reflection system, includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques involved observation and questionnaires, while data analysis used N-Gain. The implementation of Etno-STEAM learning achieved a score of 87% in the first cycle and 80% in the second cycle. The average student learning outcome was 90, with an 81% improvement in academic performance. Student responses to Etno-STEAM learning scored 84.4% and 88.1%. Overall, it is classified as very good. Thus, Etno-STEAM learning can be an effective approach to improving learning outcomes in geometry and enhancing students' creativity.

Abstract

The low student learning result in mathematics learning are because students who feel mathematics is too boring may become disinterested when studying it in elementary school. The objective of this study is to evaluate how the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning approach is applied to data presentation material and to identify areas that may enhance the learning outcome of class V students. Using a model created by Kemmis and McTaggart, This study employs the action research approach known as Participatory Action Research (PTK). Test sheets and response questionnaires are tools used to collect data. The participants of the study were thirty VA class students at SDN Dukuh Kupang III/490 Surabaya. An average of 0.58 was found based on cycle I data which was categorized as a moderate increase. On the other hand, in cycle II the average N-Gain value was 0.73, indicating a strong improvement classification. Researchers obtained a percentage of 94.4% from the student questionnaire responses following the application of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning. It is known that the results of the teacher's answer questionnaire show a percentage of 95%. As a result, this calculation shows how well Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) is used. Based on the gathered data, this study establishes that the implementation of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) may enhance student learning outcomes in the topic of data presentation for fifth-grade students in primary schools.

Abstract

One of the educational problems in Indonesia is the learning model used. Especially in science subjects where teachers can implement various models that can be applied according to the characteristics of students. With the discovery learning model, students are expected to be active in exploring knowledge and skills. In this study, the researcher implemented the discovery learning model which is aimed at understanding the improvement of students' learning abilities. This research was conducted at SDN Banjarsugihan 1/116 Surabaya. The method used in this study was PTKK which was carried out in two cycles. The subjects of this study were grade IV students with a total of 26 students. The achievement of the KKM value and percentage of students in cycle I was 30% of students completed with an average value of 61.92, while in cycle II there was an increase, namely 88% of students completed with an average value of 89.61. Based on the data of the students' learning ability test, it can be concluded that the application of the discovery learning model on the learning ability of class IV students of SDN Banjarsugihan 1/116 on the teaching material of changes in the form of objects has increased. So that researchers can suggest the implementation of the discovery learning model to be used as an alternative for science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The motivation for this research stems from the lack of reading ability shown by class II students at SDN Banjarsugihan 1/116 on the topic of Indonesian. This research uses CAR methodology which includes two research cycles. The process consists of three stages: planning (Plan), implementation cycle (Do), and reflection (See). The research participants consisted of 25 class II students at SDN Banjarsugihan for the 2023-2024 academic year, including 13 female students and 12 male students. Research findings show that cycle I had a completion rate of 73.52%, with the number of students who successfully completed the classical learning program being 10 people or reaching 40% of the total. Meanwhile, there were 15 students who did not complete, namely 60% of the total students. In cycle II, there was an increase in learning outcomes. Specifically, the results of the assessment of class II children at SDN Banjarsugihan in cycle II showed an average of 84%. There were 22 students who completed and 3 students did not complete. The level of completion of classical learning in cycle II was 86.66%, while the number of evaluations that had not been completed was 12%. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of a problem-based learning paradigm with the use of innovative SAS learning media can improve academic achievement and reading ability in class at SDN Banjarsugihan.

Abstract

The independent curriculum is a curriculum that emphasizes that every student must learn according to their talents. Teachers must organize their lessons to accommodate learning according to the diversity of student skills. Many children still have difficulty understanding and mastering fraction material when learning mathematics. Thus, the purpose of this study was to determine whether the TaRL method in mathematics learning in class 2-A SDN Dukuh Kupang III, Surabaya City, can improve student learning outcomes. A total of 28 students in the class were the subjects of the study. The instruments used were tests and observations, using qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results of the pre-cycle evaluation showed an average score of 51 with 7 students, or 25% of the total, having completed the lesson. The average score in cycle I was 70 and 19 students, or 68% of the total, had completed the lesson. In cycle II, the average normal score was 82.5 and 24 students, or 86% of the total, had completed the lesson. Based on the fulfillment of learning outcomes of more than 85% with a score of at least 70% according to the success indicators. Therefore, learning mathematics with the Teaching at the Right Level approach can be the right solution and an effective approach to improve learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is an example of classroom action research that uses an augmented reality application to determine the improvement in learning outcomes of students in class VI human locomotion material. The subjects of this research were 30 students in class VI-A at SDN Sidotopo IV/51 Surabaya. The classroom action research model used is the Kemmis and Tagart model in 2 learning cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data in this research were obtained from written tests from cycle I and cycle II. The results of classroom action research in cycle I showed that learning completeness reached 63.33% and learning completeness in cycle II reached 86.67%. Based on the results of the classroom action research, it can be seen that there was an increase of 23.34%, so it can be stated that there was an increase in student learning outcomes in class VI human locomotion material at SDN Sidotopo IV/51 Surabaya through the application of the augmented reality application.

Abstract

This research was carried out to improve student learning outcomes in mathematics subject matter of addition using the addition straw media. The hypothesis of this research is that the use of addition straw media can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects for class II students at SDN Sidotopo IV 51 Surabaya. This research is classroom action research which goes through 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and meetings. The subjects of this research were class II students, totaling 27 students. The data collection techniques used are tests and non-tests. Non-tests include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are quantitative and qualitative. The research results show that student learning outcomes after using the adding straw media have a good impact on student learning outcomes. This is proven by the increase in completeness in each cycle starting from pre-cycle to cycle 2. In cycle 1 the average classical completeness was only 60.62% with the number of students who completed it being 12 students and 15 students not yet completed, then in cycle 2 the average Classical completion rose to 80% with the number of students who completed it being 24 students and 3 students who had not yet completed it. Learning success can be determined by several factors, including the teacher. Teachers have a very important role, namely as implementers of the curriculum and delivery of teaching materials or materials. Teachers have abilities in the learning process that are very closely related to their teaching abilities. The teacher's role in the learning process includes, among others, as a communicator/informator, conductor, organizer, motivator, and educator. In a teaching and learning process as a whole the role of the teacher cannot be ignored.

Abstract

Background: Kebijakan Belajar dari Rumah (BDR) saat pandemic covid-19 ini memberikan dampak terhadap peran orang tua dalam mendampingi anak belajar. Orang tua menggantikan peran guru di kelas untuk dihadirkan dari rumah menjadi tantangan tersendiri. Masalah ini juga dihadapi oleh para orang tua di lingkungan Perumahan Citra Gading Kecamatan Sukodono Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Masalah yang dihadapi para orang tua adalah sulitnya membagi waktu antara bekerja dan mendampingi anak belajar, serta kurangnya pengetahuan tentang cara mendampingi anak belajar dengan efektif. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan mengajar bagi para orang tua. Target yang diharapkan adalah 65% dari mitra merasa sangat puas dan memahami ketrampilan dalam membimbing belajar anak selama BDR. Data dideskripsikan melalui survey kepuasan dan proses pendampingan bagi orang tua selama megikuti pelatihan. Metode: Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini meliputi pemberian pemahaman konseptual tentang psikologi perkembangan anak usia Sekolah Dasar, strategi mendampingi anak belajar, dan strategi menata ruang belajar anak. Pelatihan dilanjutkan dengan praktik langsung mendampingi anak belajar dari rumah. Pelatihan ini dilakukan secara luring dengan memperhatikan protokol kesehatan. Hasil: Pada akhir kegatan, berdasarkan hasil survey dan pemantauan selama mengikuti pelatihan, terdapat 83% sasaran mitra yang mampu menujukkan peningkatan ketrampilan dalam mendampingi anak belajar. Selain itu, mitra juga menunjukkan ketrampilan dalam menata ruang belajar bagi anak. Kesimpulan: Pelatihan bagi Orang Tua ini mendapat respon yang baik dari masyarakat serta dapat meningkatkan motivasi untuk mendampingi anak belajar di rumah dengan efektif dan efisien.
