Abstract

Talang Benih Duck (anas platyrhynchos) is the germplasm of Bengkulu province. The population at the UPTD of Livestock Breeding and Animal Feed, the Livestock and Animal Health Service of Bengkulu Province tends to decrease (quantity and quality), so it is necessary to study the status of sustainability so that its sustainability is maintained. This study aims to identify sensitive attributes of environmental factors that determine the sustainability status of the Talang Benih duck breeding business based on sustainable germplasm. Sustainability analysis was carried out using the Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) analysis method. The results of the leverage analysis show that there are 46 sensitive attributes and the Monte Carlo analysis shows a stress value of 17,40% and a coefficient of determination (R2) of 92,80%. The results showed that the status of sustainability was less sustainable (46,56) with less sustainable ecological dimensions (49,61), less sustainable economic dimensions (46,20), quite sustainable technological dimensions (62,66), less sustainable social dimensions (31,03), as well as legal and institutional dimensions that are less sustainable (43,32).   Keywords : Multidimensional scaling, sustainability status, Talang Benih ducks

Abstract

The strategy for developing laying ducks in Lebong Regency aims to explore potential, formulate strategies and overcome existing problems, so that they can interpret plans and programs from the Government of Lebong Regency as contained in the Strategic Plan-DPP 2016-2021 to realize self-sufficiency in food and products with high added value based on local resources for food sovereignty and farmer welfare, from 25 respondents who were chosen purposively (purposive sampling) consisting of breeders and stakeholders. The data processing method uses a strategic management concept approach with qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis (internal and external factors) to formulate three stages of strategy, namely the input stage uses the IFE matrix (Internal Factor Evaluation) and the EFE matrix (External Factor Evaluation), the integration stage is carried out with the IE matrix. (Internal-External), SWOT matrix (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats), the decision-making stage uses QSPM (Quantitative Strategy Planning Matrix). From the analysis results IFE 3.0571 and EFE 3.1216 combined in the I-E Matrix are in cell I position, which means that the development of laying duck farms in Lebong Regency is in strong internal conditions and the response to external factors is relatively high, a strategy that can be applied to laying duck farms in the District Lebong, namely the Growth and Build strategy (grow and develop) either through an intensive strategy or an integration strategy, based on the SWOT line quadrant graph shows a positive position both the X axis = 6.40 (opportunities) and the Y axis = 8.12 (strength) strategy Appropriate marketing is aggressive. From the results of the QSPM with a score of 4.9761, the priority strategy for developing laying duck farms in Lebong Regency that can be implemented is increasing production capacity, increasing livestock capacity by increasing the number of laying duck populations and increasing the ability of human resources in the field of animal husbandry, especially laying ducks, with that an aggressive strategy can be implemented. carried out so that market demand for duck eggs can be fulfilled.   Keywords: Development strategy, laying Ducks, Lebong District

Abstract

Cattle-plant integration is a farming model that implements a mutually beneficial synergy between farming and livestock. The research entitled "Evaluation of Bali Cattle Business Development in oil palm plantations" (Case Study in three sub-district Mukomuko Regency) was carried out exploratory with the aim of evaluating the potential for developing Bali cattle business in oil palm plantations in Mukomuko Regency and formulating a strategy for developing Bali cattle farming business. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to record, describe and interpret the plans programs of the Mukomuko regency government to support the realization of the integration of oil palm cattle. The data processing and analysis method used is a strategic management concept approach, namely IFE and EFE analysis, SWOT matrix, and IE matrix. The results of the evaluation of the development of the Bali cattle farming business in Mukomuko district show the prospect of developing an integrated Bali cattle farming business with oil palm in terms of geographical aspects, population conditions and the condition of Bali cattle farming. The IFE matrix shows a score of 2.43 and the EFE matrix gets a score of 2.59. Based on the IE matrix, the integration effort of Bali cattle – oil palm is in quadrant V which shows the conditions to be maintained and maintained (hold and maintain). Several alternative strategies were selected based on the priorities that can be offered based on the SWOT matrix analysis tool, IE matrix and linear programming (from the operational side) namely conducting market penetration / product development, improving cattle rearing techniques, developing a program to improve the cattle-oil palm integration business on a business scale more efficient use of cow waste for biogas production and alternative energy sources, recruiting professional human resources in the field of animal husbandry and animal health Maximizing the productivity capacity of Bali cattle and oil palm plantations, implementing five cultivation businesses, maximizing the use of grass around oil palm plantations as a source of animal feed. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe by-product of Durio fruit is huge potential biomass to be utilized as a feed ingredient. However, it needs to be treated physically and biologically such as by fermentation. The objectives of this study were to evaluate nutrient contents, nutrient intakes, nutrient digestibility, milk yield, milk composition, and fatty acid contents in concentrate, milk, and feces of dairy goat fed the diet with a concentrate containing fermented Durio peel flour. The backlogs containing a mixture of Durio peel flour, rice bran, and CaCO3 were fermented with Pleurotus ostreatus for two weeks, air dried, then were ready to be formulated in concentrate. Treatments were FDC 0: basal diet of 55.7% tofu- by-product + 44.3% composite forage; FDC 5: basal diet + Concentrate with 5% fermented Durio peel +25% rice bran; FDC 10: basal diet + Concentrate with 10% fermented Durio peel +20% rice bran; FDC 20: basal diet + Concentrate with 20% fermented Durio peel + 10 rice bran. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design in 4 x 4, 4 treatments, and 4 replications in 40 days. Therefore, there were 16 lactating Nubian crossed goats as experimental units. Results showed there was found that the 5% fermented Durio peel flour in concentrate showed several consistency in some quality. Those were high in crude protein, ether extract, dry matter intake, gross energy, digestibility of nutrients (dry matter, organic matter, ether extract, crude protein, crude fiber, N-free extract, gross energy), milk yield, ECM, MCFA, LCFA, PUFA in milk, C<16, C>16, unsaturated, a total fatty acid in concentrates, milk, and feces. There were low SCC in milk and low n-6/n-3 in milk that were expected. Therefore, the 5% fermented Durio peel flour and 25% of rice bran in concentrate was considered optimal for lactating dairy goat.Keywords: balance, D. zibethinus, fatty acid, fermented

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of sakura block supplementation using solid as a substitute for bran on crude fiber digestibility of local Kaur beef cattle fed natural grass.The research design used was the Latin Square Design (LSD) with treatments consisting of P1(16.5% bran + 5.5% solid), P2(11% bran+ 11% solid), P3(5.5% bran + 16 .5% Solid), P4(22% Solid). This research used 4 beef cattle, each period consisting of 15 days of treatment, where the last 5 days of each period were used to collect crude fiber digestibility. The results of the study showed that sakura block supplementation using solid as a substitute for bran had no significant effect (P>0.05) on natural grasses crude fiber intake, sakura block crude fiber intake, fecal crude fiber production, and crude fiber digestibility. . It was concluded that sakura block supplementation using solid did not reduce crude fiber intake, crude fiber content in feces and crude fiber digestibility in local kaur cattle fed basalt field grass rations. Abstract

A variety of flavored yogurt has been widely known; however, adding fruit would impact the choice of this product.  In this experiment, some fruits, such as Ananas comosus and Cucumis melo had been supplemented in yogurt made from dairy goat milk.  This research used a completely randomized design 4 x 4, applying four treatments with four replications.  The treatments were FO: yogurt with no addition of fruit; FA: yogurt with 10% fruit Ananas; FC: yogurt with 10% fruit Cucumis; FM: yogurt with mixed addition of 5% fruit Ananas and 5% Cucumis. Data of sensory evaluation and pH were analyzed using Anova. Results showed no significant differences in color, odor and flavour among treatments. However, there was found the highest (P<0.05) score (3.30) on the texture of yogurt with C. melo.  On average, this yogurt and mixed fruit yogurt also showed high overall acceptability (2.65).  Yet, the Cucumis yogurt had high averages in TPC (2.8×107) and pH (5.72).  Cost production, in average, the mixed yogurt showed IDR 105,516 for 2,5 l (IDR 42,206 for 1 l yogurt).  It had IDR 5,790 difference from the one with no fruit yogurt.  In conclusion, yogurt with A. comosus had an optimal combination of sensory evaluation score, TPC, pH and cost production.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the best percentage of Gamal (Gliricidia sepium) leaf meal in complete feed to increase the growth of Rex rabbits. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD), which consisted of 3 treatments with 4 replications: P0 (control treatment), P1 (5% Gliricidia sepium leaf powder, P2 (10% Gliricidia sepium leaf powder). The varriabels were feed consumption, Averga Daily Gain (ADG) and Feed Efficiency. The research data were analyzed by means of variance (ANOVA), if the results of the analysis had a significant effect (P<0.05) then Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was further tested to see differences between treatments.The results of the study showed that the treatment had no significant (P>0.05) effect on feed consumption, average daily gain (ADG) and feed efficiency. The average of daily consumption of rabbits was 100.17-111.10 g/head/day, average daily gain (ADG) was 19.16-22.80 (g/head/day), and feed efficiency was 19.51-20.85 %. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the use of Gliricidia sepium leaves up to 10% did not have a significant effect on feed consumption, average daily gain, and feed efficiency.   Key words: growth, pellet, Rex   ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase terbaik penggunaan tepung daun gamal (Gliricidia sepium) dalam pakan komplit sehingga dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan kelinci Rex. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), yang terdiri dari 3 perlakuan dengan 4 ulangan : P0 (perlakuan kontrol), P1 (5% tepung daun Gliricidia sepium), P2 (10% tepung daun Gliricidia sepium). Variabel yang diamati terdiri dari konsumsi pakan, Pertambahan Bobot Badan Harian (PBBH) dan Efisiensi Pakan. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan ANOVA, apabila hasil analisis berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) maka diuji lanjut Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) untuk melihat perbedaan antar perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan berat badan harian (PBBH) dan efisiensi pakan. Rataan konsumsi pakan kelinci bekisar 100,17-111,10 g/ekor/hari, pertambahan berat badan harian (PBBH) berkisar 19,16 -22,80 (g/ekor/hari), dan efisiensi pakan berkisar 19,51-20,85 %. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan daun Gliricidia sepium sampai 10% tidak menurunkan performa pertumbuhan kelinci rex yang meliputi konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan harian,dan efisiensi pakan.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of using Gliricidia sepium leaf meal in feed on the digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, and crude fiber of Rex rabbits. The study used 12 Rex rabbits which were grouped into 3 feed treatment groups. Group P0 is the control group, Group P1 is fed with 5% Gliricidia sepium leaf meal. Group P2 was fed with 10% Gliricidia sepium leaf meal. The variables observed were dry matter consumption, dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility and crude fiber digestibility. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that the use of Gliricidia sepium leaf powder did not have a significant effect on the consumption and production of rabbit dry matter. The average dry matter consumption of rabbits ranged from 90.67 to 103.76 g/head/day. The treatment had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on the digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, and had a significant effect (P<0.01) on the digestibility of crude fiber. Based on the DMRT test, on dry matter digestibility, P0 (69.74 ± 1.02 %) and P1 (67.55 ± 2.39 %) were very significantly different from P2 (63.26 ± 1.81 %). Based on the DMRT test, on organic matter digestibility, P0 (69.23 ± 0.84 %) and P1 (67.41 ± 2.27 %) were very significantly different from P2 (62.35 ± 1.80 %). Based on the DMRT test, on crude fiber digestibility, P0 (67.92 ± 0.96 %) was very significantly different from P1 (63.41 ± 3.59 %) and P2 (67.93 ± 1.67 %). The conclusion from the study was that the use of Gliricidia sepium leaf meal up to 5% had no effect on the digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, and crude fiber in Rex rabbits.   Key words: digestibility, pellet, tannin   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan tepung daun Gliricidia sepium dalam pakan terhadap kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik, dan serat kasar pada kelinci Rex. Perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik, dan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kecernaan serat kasar. Berdasarkan uji DMRT, pada kecernaan bahan kering, P0 (69,74±1,02 %) dan P1 (67,55±2,39 %) berbeda sangat nyata dengan P2 (63,26±1,81%). Berdasarkan uji DMRT, pada kecernaan bahan organik, P0 (69,23±0,84 %) dan P1 (67,41±2,27 %) berbeda sangat nyata dengan P2 (62,35±1,80 %). Abstract

The aim of this research was to evaluate the dry matter consumption value, Total Digestible Nutrient (TDN) and the performa of Kacang goat which fed with the vegetables wastes where take from markets. Five kacang male goats with the body weight around 9-11 kg and the ages between 10-12 month were used. This research took twenty days time consisted of ten days for premilinary periode and the next ten days for collecting periode. The variables observed were nutrients composition, dry matter consumption, Total Digestible Nutrient (TDN), and average daily weight gain. The vegetables waste in this research has good enough nutrient quality (Dry matter= 92,42%, organic matter=86,13%, ether extract =3,79%, crude protein=32,82%, Nitrogen Free extract =36,53%). The average of dry matter consumption was 68,73 g/kgBB0,75/day. This dry matter consumption was higher than the maintenance need. The average of Total Digestible Nutrient (TDN) was ± 57,42%. This TDN value could be classified good enough because this has been more than maintenance need. The average daily weight gain was 48 gram /day. The conclusion of this research where the vegetables wastes were palatable to the goat, the digestibility value were good enough, and could give the daily weight gain were high enough so that the wastes from vegetables could be used as source of goat feed   Key words: goat, perfomance, total digestible nutrient, vegetables wastes    ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi nilai konsumsi bahan kering (BK), Total Digestible Nutrient (TDN) dan performa kambing kacang yang diberi pakan limbah sayuran pasar. Lima ekor kambing jantan dengan berat badan 9-11kg berumur 10 -12 bulan digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama dua puluh hari terdiri sepuluh hari periode pendahuluan dan sepuluh hari periode koleksi. Peubah yang diamati terdiri dari komposisi nutrisi, konsumsi bahan kering, Total Digestible Nutrient (TDN), dan pertambahan berat badan harian. Limbah sayur pada penelitian ini memiliki nilai gizi yang cukup baik (BK=92,42%, BO=86,13%, EE=3,79%, SK=12,99%, PK=32,82%, BETN=36,53%). Rata-rata konsumsi BK adalah 68,73 g/kgBB0,75/hari. Nilai ini lebih tinggi dari kebutuhan hidup pokok. Rata-rata nilai Total Digestible Nutrient (TDN) ± 57,42%. Nilai TDN sebesar ini dapat dinyatakan cukup baik karena sudah melebihi kebutuhan TDN untuk hidup pokok ternak. Rata-rata pertambahan berat badan per hari 48 gram/hari. Kesimpulan penelitian ini limbah sayuran pasar disukai ternak kambing, mempunyai nilai kecernaan cukup baik, dan dapat memberikan pertambahan berat badan harian yang cukup tinggi sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai sumber pakan ternak kambing   Kata kunci: kambing, limbah sayur, performa, Total Digestible Nutrient

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi penggunaan solid sebagai bahan baku sakura block terhadap produksi asam lemak bercabang (Branched Fatty Acid/BCFA), isobutirat (iC4), isovalerate (iC5), valerat (nC5) dan total bakteri pada cairan rumen secara invitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 12 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan yaitu sakura block komersial sebagai control (P0), dan sakura block yang diperkaya dengan solid 2% (P1), 4% (P2), 6% (P3), 8%(P4), 10% (P5), 12% (P6), 14% (P7), 16% (P8), 18% (P9), 20% (P10) dan 22% (P11). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan secara fluktuatif produksi BCFA, isobutirat, isovalerate, valerat dan total bakteri pada cairan rumen. Kesimpulan penggunaan solid taraf 18% pada Sakura block menghasilkan produksi tertinggi dari semua perlakuan.
