Abstract

Group and community intervention is applied course of social psychology. Several studies show the use of modified problem-based learning and team-based learning methods is effective to achieve the objectives of applied courses. This study aimed to see the effectivity of applying modified problem-based learning and team-based learning methods on group and community intervention course material in increasing students’ understanding. One-group pre test – post test experimental research design was used to conduct this study. The subjects were students who take group and community intervention courses. Data is taken from quiz score given before and after the intervention. The results of the analysis using one-way ANOVA repeated measure with sphericity assumed shows the average student understanding statistically increased between the time of measurement F (2,32) = 127,067, p .000<.005. Thus, it is proven that students' understanding of student subject matter significantly increased.

Abstract

Abstract: Smoking behaviour is often encountered among the society. Although there have been many warnings about the dangers of smoking, there are still many people who choose to become active smokers. In order to review this issue, the author uses the literature review method. In the perspective of social psychology, there are several causes of smoking behaviour, especially in adolescents, such as motivation and expectations, fears, perceptions, and expectations of self-efficacy. In addition, unhealthy behaviour such as smoking can also be influenced by the concept of initiation and implementation of behaviour. Social psychology can also play a role in reducing smoking behaviour among adolescents. There are 2 ways that can be applied. First is by displaying advertisements and second by framing the messages/advertisements shown. This framing includes positive framing and negative framing. Keywords: smoking behavior; adolescent; psychology Abstrak: Perilaku merokok seringkali kita jumpai di lingkungan sekitar. Meskipun sudah banyak peringatan tentang bahaya merokok, tetapi masih banyak orang yang memilih menjadi perokok aktif. Banyak data yang menunjukkan bahwa perokok terus meningkat di setiap tahunnya. Padahal, dampak negatif merokok sangat besar. Baik bagi perokok itu sendiri, maupun bagi orang di sekitarnya. Mulai dari penyakit ringan hingga penyakit kronis yang dapat menyebabkan kematian. Penulis menggunakan metode review literatur dalam mengkaji problematika ini. Dalam perspektif psikologi sosial, terdapat beberapa penyebab perilaku merokok, khususnya pada remaja, seperti, motivasi dan harapan, ketakutan, persepsi, serta harapan efikasi diri. Selain itu, perilaku tidak sehat seperti merokok juga dapat dipengaruhi oleh konsep inisiasi dan implementasi perilaku. Psikologi sosial juga dapat berperan untuk membantu mengurangi perilaku merokok pada remaja. Ada 2 cara yang dapat diterapkan. Pertama, dengan menampilkan iklan yang relevan dan yang kedua, dengan melakukan framing terhadap pesan atau iklan yang akan ditampilkan. Framing ini meliputi framing positif dan framing negatif. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk efikasi diri dari pemilik usaha pusat kebugaran di Kota Malang, meliputi penjabaran mengenai dimensi dan faktor-faktor efikasi dirinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif naratif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah empat orang yang berprofesi sebagai pemilik usaha pusat kebugaran di Kota Malang dan telah mengelola usaha pusat kebugaran selama kurang lebih sepuluh tahun. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode wawancara semi-terstruktur, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis interaktif. Validasi informasi dilakukan dengan metode triangulasi data dari informan dan observasi lapangan. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu pengetahuan dalam bidang tertentu memberikan sumbangsih pada pembentukan efikasi diri seseorang. Pengetahuan dapat berupa pengalaman pribadi, pengalaman orang lain, atau bahkan melalui pelatihan. Selain pengetahuan, bentuk kecintaan dan dedikasi pada bidang usaha juga dapat menumbuhkan efikasi diri. Adanya rasa cinta atau dedikasi pada suatu bidang menyebabkan seseorang akan lebih tahan dalam menghadapi masalah yang dilewatinya. Selain itu, akan muncul perasaan senang ketika menjalankan usaha tersebut. Hal tersebut memberi sumbangsih pada pembentukan efikasi diri dari partisipan penelitian.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan sosialisasi dalam meminimalisir Ketakutan akan Kegagalan (Fear of Missing Out) dan Ketakutan akan Kegagalan (Fear of Failure) dalam upaya untuk meningkatkan Keberhasilan akademik peserta didik (Academic Success) terutama dalam kondisi pasca Pandemi Covid 19.  Pelaksanaan sosialisasi dilaksanakan pada 18 September 2023 yang bertempat di Kota Banjarbaru, Kalimantan Selatan. Dengan jumlah peserta didik sebanyak 25 orang. Setelah cara-cara atau kiat-kiat meminimalisir Ketakutan akan Ketertinggalan (Fear of Missing Out) dan Ketakutan akan Kegagaglan (Fear of Failure) di berikan oleh Narasumber, Tim pelaksana membagikan kuesioner terkait Ketakutan akan Ketertinggalan dan Ketakutan akan Kegagalan yang dikembangkan oleh Tim sesuai dengan konteks dan kondisi terkini di Indonesia, terutama dalam kondisi Pasca Pandemi Covid. Peningkatan rasa takut akan ketertinggalan (FoMO) dan rasa takut akan kegagalan (Fear of Failure) yang tinggi dapat terlihat dari hasil dari pengukuran dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini. Dengan cara-cara hingga metode yang diberikan selama sosialisasi yang didapatkan dari para peneliti sebelumnya (DinÇer, Saygin, & Karadal, 2022; Scott, 2019; Lieberman, 2019; Berna, 2020; Collins, 2020) maka diharapkan membantu para peserta sosialisasi dan peserta didik lainnya dalam mengurangi rasa takut akan ketertinggalan (Fear of Missing Out) dan rasa takut akan kegagalan (Fear of Failure) sehingga mampu meningkatkan kinerja akademik di sekolah.

Abstract

Every human who lives in the world has aspirations for prosperity in his life. This well-being is not only materially, but also psychological well-being. However, the increasing density of the physical environment will potentially lead to the perception of crowding and have an impact on the psychological well-being of individuals. This study aims to investigate the effect of distress on psychological well-being in the community in Kampung Biru Arema Malang. This study uses a quantitative correlational design with regression analysis to determine the effect of the crowding variable on the psychological well-being variable. Respondents selected as samples in this study were 38 people who were residents of Kampung Biru Arema. The samples were conducted research using non-probability sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data collected by using two scales, the scale of distress and the psychological well-being scale. The results of this study indicate that adversity has a significant negative influence as a predictor of psychological well-being in communities in Kampung Biru Arema Malang (t hitung= -3,213; p<0.05; R Square = 0,223). This study concludes that individuals who perceive the density as crowding will decrease their psychological well-being.

Abstract

Parenting is one of the main factors affecting the child's future psychological development. Nevertheless, many people still overestimate the role of the mother and ignore the importance of the father's role in parenting. Therefore, this community service activity is carried out with the aim of raising the knowledge, awareness, and skills of parenting of the fathers. This activity is packed in the form of psycho-education of fathering for the fathers in the neighborhood of RT 05 Perum Graha Gilang Purnama, Kedungrejo Village, Pakis Sub-District, Malang District. There are three main subjects given in this activity: Concept of Parenting and Its Types, Father's Role in Parenting, and Simulation of Parenting Practice. Based on reflection and evaluation of the activities carried out, it can be concluded that the psycho-education of fathering has successfully improved the knowledge, awareness, and skills of fathers in terms of fathering. The participants realized that their role parenting was very important, and they increasingly understood how to do fathering to their children.

Abstract

Kasus kekerasan seksual di Indonesia masih sering terjadi dengan ditunjukkannya data mencapai ribuan kasus setiap tahunnya. Terutama kasus tersebut lebih banyak melibatkan anak-anak, mengingat mereka memiliki kondisi fisik yang rentan dibandingkan orang dewasa. Oleh karena itu, kejadian kekerasan seksual ini seringkali terjadi di tingkat pendidikan Sekolah Menengah Pertama dan Sekolah Menengah Atas. Dampak yang ditimbulkan kekerasan seksual pada anak menunjukkan tingkat keparahan yang lebih tinggi daripada kekerasan fisik dan psikologis pada anak. Sehingga, perlu adanya upaya untuk mencegah tindak kekerasan seksual, salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan yaitu bersikap asertif. Asertif berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan anak untuk mempertahankan diri, tidak mudah terpengaruh, dan menjadi lebih terbuka terhadap pandangan orang lain. Selanjutnya metode yang dilakukan pada pengabdian ini yaitu dengan dilakukan program psikoedukasi pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama, dengan menggunakan beberapa model kegiatan seperti ceramah, focus group discussion, dan role play. Kemudian, didapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara pre-test dan post-test dengan adanya perlakuan psikoedukasi yang menunjukan angka signifikan 0,009 < 0,05 dan ditambah adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari pre-test ke post-test yaitu 130.59 – 133.65. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan “Psikoedukasi Asertivitas Untuk Meningkatkan Perilaku Asertif Dalam Pencegahan Kekerasan Seksual Remaja” dapat diharapkan mampu mencegah tindakan kekerasan seksual pada remaja. Kata kunci— Kekerasan Seksual, Asertivitas, Remaja, Psikoedukasi Abstract Sexual abuse cases persist in Indonesia, with annual data indicating thousands of incidents. Notably, these cases predominantly involve children, given their vulnerable physical state compared to adults. Consequently, sexual abuse incidents are prevalent in Junior High School and Senior High School settings. The impact of sexual abuse on children is notably more severe than physical and psychological violence. Therefore, proactive measures are essential to prevent sexual abuse, with one effective approach being the cultivation of assertive behavior. Assertiveness is instrumental in empowering children to protect themselves, resist external influences, and embrace openness to others' perspectives. The implemented method in this initiative includes psychoeducational programs for Junior High School students, incorporating diverse activities such as lectures, focus group discussions, and role-playing. Subsequent results reveal a significant difference between pre-test and post-test outcomes, with the psychoeducational intervention displaying statistical significance at 0.009 < 0.05. Additionally, there is a notable increase in average scores from the pre-test to the post-test, rising from 130.59 to 133.65. In conclusion, the "Psychoeducation of Assertiveness to Foster Assertive Behavior in Preventing Adolescent Sexual Abuse" initiative is anticipated to effectively deter instances of sexual abuse among adolescents. Keywords— Sexual abuse, Assertive, Adolescent, Psychoeducation

Abstract

The existence of TikTok is often used to present oneself virtually. However, this virtual appearance can cause individuals to attempt to commit appearance fraud or lying self-presentation, which they believe can affect their self-esteem as the best version of themselves. This research aims to determine the influence of self-esteem on online self-presentation among adolescent users of the TikTok application in Tasikmalaya Regency. The design of this research uses a correlational quantitative approach. The sampling technique used in this research was a non-probability sampling method with an accidental sampling type and obtained a sample of 537 research subjects. This research uses two scales adapted by researchers, including the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) to measure self-esteem and The Presentation of Online-Self Scale (POSS) to measure online self-presentation. The data analysis technique uses simple linear regression. This study's results show that self-esteem significantly influences online self-presentation among teenage TikTok users in Tasikmalaya Regency (t equals 27.154; p equals 0.01 less than 0.05; R2 equals 0.020). This research concludes that the lower self-esteem, the higher online self-presentation in adolescents. In this case, self-esteem contributes to online self-presentation by 2 percent.

Abstract

Uncertainty in labor market conditions is a challenge for college graduates. This challenge significantly influences the length of time needed to face a career transition, so psychological capital is an important thing to have. This research aims to determine whether psychological capital can encourage students’ readiness to face career transitions. This research uses quantitative correlational methods. The population of this research were students at two public universities in Malang City who were working on their thesis with a sample size of 105 students. Sampling was carried out using incidental techniques. The instruments used were adapted versions of The Psychological Capital Questionnaire (PCQ-24) and The Career Transitions Inventory (CTI). This research uses multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results of this research indicate that psychological capital simultaneously influences readiness to face career transitions (Sig. equals .000; f equals 33.831). The results of the coefficient of determination (Adj. R2) show a contribution of psychological capital of 55.8 percent. The t-test results show that the hope dimension (Sig. equals .008; t equals 1.256) and the optimism dimension (Sig. equals .000; t equals 4.785) partially affect career transition readiness. Meanwhile, the self-efficacy dimension (Sig. equals .212; t equals 1.256) and the resilience dimension (Sig. equals .485; t equals .701) partially do not significantly affect career transition readiness. The effective contribution of the hope dimension is 20.39 percent, and the optimism dimension is 25.84 percent.

Abstract

Community participation is an important component of the success of the social policy. This research seeks to understand the role of attitude and sense of community towards community participation in the Compulsory Study Hours Program in Mojokerto City. This study hypothesizes that attitudes and a sense of community play a role in community participation in the Compulsory Education Hours Program in Mojokerto City. This research is quantitative correlational research. A total of 80 respondents selected by cluster sampling technique participated in this study. The research instruments used were the Attitude Scale towards the Compulsory Hours Program, the Sense of Community Scale, and the Participation Scale in the Compulsory Hours Program. The data obtained were then analyzed using multiple regression analysis techniques. The analysis results show that community attitudes and feelings can play a significant role in community participation in the Compulsory Education Hours Program (R_a^2 equals .637; p less than .01). The results of this study recommend the importance of efforts to increase a positive attitude towards a program or policy and foster a sense of community so that community participation in the program or policy increases significantly.
