Abstract

ABSTRACT This article was to describe the effects of the using of discovery learning model using audiovisual media toward student of writing news skill at grade VIII SMP Negeri 28 Padang. The method used was experiment method. Based on data analysis it could be concluded three points as follow. First, student’s  writing a news skill at grade VIII SMP Negeri 28 Padang was moderate with mean score 73,53 without using of model discovery learning aided audiovisual media. Second, students’s writing news skill at grade VIII SMP Negeri 28 Padang using of model discovery learning aided audiovisual media was good with mean score 79,68. Third, based on t-test it could be conclude that there was the effects of model discovery learning using audiovisual media toward student’s writing news skill at grade VIII SMP Negeri 28 Padang because taritmatic> t table (3,04>1,67). Kata kunci: pengaruh, model discovery learning, media audiovisual, menulis berita

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article was written to describe the correlation of reading comprehension skill with the skill of writing the text of the result of observation of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 10 Padang. This research is a quantitative research with correlational method. The sample in this study amounted to 30 people. The data of this research is the result score skill test reading comprehension and the result score skill test of writing the text of the result of observation. Based on data analysis and discussion, the following three things are obtained. First, the skill of reading comprehension of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 10 Padang is in good qualification  (77,13). Second, the skill of writting the text of the result of observation of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 10 Padang is in more than enough qualification (69,63). Third, there is correlation of reading comprehension skill with the skill of writing the text of the result of observation of the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 10 Padang because tcount>ttable (2,47>1,31). Kata kunci: korelasi, membaca pemahaman, menulis, teks laporan hasil observasi

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is as follows. First, describe reading skills in understanding the exposition text of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 28 Padang. Second, describe the writing skills of exposition text of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 28 Padang. Third, analyze the correlation of reading skills understanding exposition text and exposition text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 28 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. Research design is correlational research. The sample of this study amounted to 40 people. The sampling technique in this study was simple random sampling. The instruments used in this study are objective tests for reading skills in understanding exposition text and performance tests for text writing skills exposition. Data were analyzed by percentage formula, formula for calculating average, normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test. The results of this study are the following three things. First, the reading skills of understanding the exposition text of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 28 Padang were of good quality, with an average score of 77.64. Secondly, the writing skills of exposition text of grade VIII students of Padang Public Middle School 28 are more than qualified, with an average value of 73.38 below the KKM (75). Third, there is a positive and significant relationship between reading skills understanding exposition text and exposition text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 28 Padang at a significant level of 0.05 and degrees of freedom (dk) = n-1 because t count> ttable is 6.70> 1, 68.  Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman Teks Eksposisi,                        Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksposisi

Abstract

The purpose of this research is (1) to know the level of reading comprehension skill of students exposition of class XI SMA Negeri 4 Pariaman, (2) to know the level of writing skill of exposition student of class XI SMA Negeri 4 Pariaman, (3) to know correlation of reading comprehension skill written exposition with the writing skills of exposition students of class XI SMA Negeri 4 Pariaman. This research type is quantitative research with correlation method. The results of this study are three, namely (1) reading comprehension skill of exposition is in BS qualification with M 87,07, (2) writing skill of exposition is in qualification B with M 84,66, and (3) there is significant correlation between the reading comprehension skills of the exposition essay with the writing skill of the exposition of the students of class XI SMA Negeri 4 Pariaman. Based on data analysis and discussion, in improving writing skill of exposition is required to read comprehension skill of exposition. Kata kunci: Korelasi, membaca pemahaman, karangan eksposisi, keterampilan menulis

Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to describe the ability of vocabulary class XI student of SMAN 1 Guguak, (2) to describe the ability to write essays arguing Negeri1 high school students of class XI Guguak, (3) describe the relationship between vocabulary skills with the ability to write an argument essay graders XI SMA Negeri 1 Guguak. This research is quantitatively using descriptive. The population was 195 0rang as much in five local spread. The sample of this study were 30. The percentage of samples 15% of the total population of students per class. The data of this study in the form of objective test results for the multiple-choice vocabulary test consisting of 30 items about. Based on the analyzes of the data were performed, obtained the following results. First, the average level of vocabulary class XI student of SMAN 1 Guguak are in good qualification (82.66%) in the range of 76-85%. Second, the average ability of students to write essays arguing class XI SMA Negeri 1 Guguak be more than enough in qualifying (74.68%) in the range of 66-75%. Third, there is a significant positive relationship between relationship vocabulary with the ability to write an argument essay class XI student SMAN 1 Guguak, obtained t value of 9.07 is greater than the t table with degrees liberated (n-2) and a significant level of 95 % is equal to 1.701.

Abstract

This article was written to determine acquisition of semantic olds 0;0-0;2 to word class noun, verbs, and adjectives. This research method is descriptive method. Research findings are; firts, child has mastered noun 121 words, consisting of noun limb, noun of objects arround, noun of fruits, noun of animal, noun of greeting, and noun of substance secreted human.second, childs has mastered 35 words of verb, consisting of action verbs, process verb, and state verbs. Third, child has mastered 50 words of adjectives, consisting of trait adjectives, size, feeling, time, distance,senses, form, and colour.

Abstract

Specifically, purposes of the research were: (1) to describe the ability of eighth grade student’s of SMP Negeri 3 Talamau in reading comprehension without using the point strategy technique, (2) to describe the ability of eighth grade student’s of SMP Negeri 3 Talamau in reading comprehension by using the point strategy technique, (3) to analyze the effectives of the point strategy technique in to the ability of eighth grade student’s of SMP Negeri 3 Talamau in reading comprehension. The type of the research was quantitative research by using experimental method. Research findings provides that learning by using strategy point in experimental classroom was effective with average 70,4 in qualification more than enough. In contrast, control class in average 63,7 in qualification enough.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to describe the moral conscience, (2) describe the moral values ​​of freedom and responsibility, (3) describe the value of moral rights and obligations, (4) describe the moral value ​​and norm. The data of this study are sentences that describe moral values​​. The data source of this research is the novel Jermal by Yokie Adityo first printed work was published in Yogyakarta by publisher Landscape Library in 2009 with the numbers as much as 138 pages ISBN 978-979-1227-75-9. This research is a qualitative descriptive method. The findings of this study consisted of 13 moral conscience, 11 moral values ​​of freedom and responsibility, 23 the value of moral rights and obligations, and 31 moral values ​​and norms.

Abstract

This research is aimed to describe phatic category of Minangkabau language from its form and usage function in that kaba Si Gadih Ranti. This research uses qualitative research with descriptive method. Data of this research is collected with the collecting technique by reading and understanding the data. Analyzing data technique in this research is done by inventing the described data, classifying data and analyzing it based on the research aim and making the summary. Based on the analyzed data, it can be concluded the invention from the research. They are: first, from the phatic form in Kaba Si Gadih Ranti found that there are four forms: (1) phatic particle, lah, pun, koh: (2) phatic blending: iyolah, disiko, hanyo lai, iyo juo (3) phatic word :iyo, garan, nantun, bana, malah, iko, nangko: and (4) phatic phrase: birawari, adok kapado, lorong kapado. Second, from its function in Kaba Si Gadih Ranti found that there are five phatic function, (1) emphasize, (2) separate, (3) strengthen, (4) convince, and (5) start the new paragraph of the story.

Abstract

This article was written to detect the influence of audio visual media concerning short story writing skill of class VII students of SMPN 19 Padang. The data of this research were the result of the short story writing final test. The data were collected by giving short story writing test through audio visual media and without audio visual media. The hipotesis tested by using test-t formula. The result indicated that (1) the arithmetic average of the students’ short story writing skills experiment group were 72,53; (2) the arithmetic average of the students’ short story writing skills control group were 62,04; and (3) according to test-t’s result, can be concluded that there was a significant influence of the used of audio visual media to the short story writing skill of class VII students of SMPN 19 Padang.
