Abstract

The throttle is a component that determines the amount of airflow into the combustion chamber. The latest in-vehicle technology makes it possible to adjust the fly valve electronically. The electronic system adjusts the angle size by comparing the predetermined setpoints. In research, electronic system designs are based on existing models. The throttle model uses a stepper motor drive. Electronic control using a microcontroller with proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control. While the setpoint is based on a reference from the throttle position sensor (TPS) sensor. The greater the throttle reference value, the greater the angle opening of the butterfly valve. The results of this study obtained a simulation model of electronic throttle control from gear ratios of 1: 1, 5: 1, and 10: 1 for conventional vehicles.

Abstract

Vocational education is characterized by practical learning. During online learning in the Covid-19 outbreak, students' practice learning outcomes have decreased significantly. This study evaluates the implementation of online practical learning in Vocational High Schools (VHS) for technical competencies of Light Automotive Engineering in terms of Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP). This study was conducted at a Vocational High School, SMKN 1 Simpangkatis, Central Bangka Regency. The research subjects were the principal, vice-principal, 5 productive teachers, and 191 students in the department of Light Automotive Engineering. This evaluation research used the CIPP method. Data were collected through questionnaires supported with interviews and documentation. The findings indicated that (1) the implementation of online practical learning for context and input components is included in the medium category and (2) the process and product components are categorized as low.

Abstract

University is a remarkable institution which is always expected to change the world through its constantly innovative technology and science advancement and civilization promotion. Academic institution relies on its efficacious leader with vision and implementation to fully accomplish its missions. However, limited attention goes to this crucial leader’s requirements and characteristics, even faculty members in the higher education institutions studiously conduct research for external organizations. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis addressing innovative academic leader’s characteristics based on the current global situation, university mission, and unique culture. Finally, this article concluds the competencies and characteristics of efficacious academic leader demands in this changing era: envisioning the institutional future, integrating social resources with reciprocity, modeling the way with morality and integrity, executing university missions with professions and humanity, empowering team members with full support, and inspiring students with humanity. Those integrated characters could effectively guide faculty members for their future self-development, and contribute to achieving university mission on science development, producing high-quality human resources, and contributing of the human civilization promotion. This conclusion retrospectively raises further suggestions for future study, how faculty members build these characters considering the unique and complex situation of interpersonal and external factors within the university.

Abstract

Based on the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Education Number 6757 of 2020 concerning the designation of madrasas as research providers, it can be analyzed that the number of madrasas designated as research madrasas is still very small compared to the number of madrasas as a whole. This study aims to describe the management of research programs at MAN 2 Kudus from the aspects of planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating. The research method used is a qualitative research method. Data was collected by means of in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. Respondents who were used as data sources were the head of the madrasa and the research mentor teacher. The results showed that the management stage of the research program includes planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating. The planning stage includes the formulation of objectives for conducting research programs and preparing human resources. The next stage is organizing which includes the formation of a research team, grouping research fields and designing a research-based curriculum. The implementation phase consists of Yourt Camp activities, Persian, teacher competency improvement, schedule preparation and mentoring process. The final stage is an evaluation carried out between the research team, the head of the madrasa and the deputy head of the madrasa to analyze the achievements of the management of the research program at MAN 2 Kudus. This research can be specified again related to research program learning techniques so that the implementation of research programs is more superior and quality so that it can increase the competitiveness of madrasa.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Integrated Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program at the Department of Automotive Engineering Education, Yogyakarta State University, using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation framework. Employing a qualitative design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with Industrial Practice (PI), Teaching Practice (PK), and Community Service (KKN) coordinators, lecturers, and industry partners, complemented by document analysis. The context evaluation indicates strong alignment between institutional objectives and national MBKM policy. However, input findings reveal gaps in student readiness, particularly in technical skills, professional attitudes, and industrial work culture. Process evaluation identifies coordination inefficiencies among PI, PK, and KKN, including overlapping implementation mechanisms and inconsistent supervision. Product evaluation shows that while most learning outcomes were achieved, limited industry understanding of MBKM activity distinctions affected mentoring effectiveness. Overall, the program demonstrates acceptable effectiveness but requires clearer operational regulations, strengthened industry communication, and enhanced student preparation to ensure more consistent and sustainable outcomes.
