Abstract

In addition to physical health, mental health in adolescents really needs attention. Mentally healthy individuals can function normally in carrying out their lives, especially when adjusting to face problems that will be encountered throughout a person's life. The role of parents in the family is very influential, especially on the mental development of children. The service activities carried out in Gogik Village are providing education to families about adolescent mental health and how to maintain adolescent mental health. Based on an initial survey conducted to adolescent families in Gogik Village who were present, it was found that more than 87.5% of families did not know about how to maintain mental health in adolescents. Before being given increased knowledge with health education, out of 32 participants, 28 (87.5%) had less knowledge in maintaining mental health in adolescents. After being given increased knowledge with Health Education, it was known that as many as 32 participants (100%) had good knowledge in maintaining mental health in adolescents

Abstract

Caregivers with schizophrenia face physical, psychological, and financial burdens. Although existing research supports the efficacy of interventions to improve the mental health and wellbeing of caregivers living with schizophrenia patients, there are a number of limitations to the existing evidence. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of a family resilience intervention program for caregivers with schizophrenia using a randomized controlled trial in Central Java, Indonesia. This is a non-blinded study with two parallel arms and an active control group. The intervention group received a combination of face-to-face and interactive online delivery strategies for six weeks. The conner–davidson resilience scale and McMasters family assessment device (FAD) were used to measure study outcomes. The study uses repeated measures analysis of variance, Cohen' d test, and general estimate equations to analyze the data. The study involved over 230 caregivers and found that the family resilience intervention program significantly improved resilience and family functioning scores after the intervention. The study also revealed a moderate effect size on resilience and family functioning. The study suggests that primary healthcare centers should be involved in early detection and monitoring of psychosocial issues within families to maintain and improve their mental health.

Abstract

The elderly period is marked by various changes, both in physical, psychological, and social aspects, which directly affect their physical and mental conditions. Physical changes that occur in the elderly often have an impact on their psychological condition. Psychological well-being can increase if the elderly get good support from family, friends, and the surrounding environment. The psychological well-being of the elderly is good if the aspects of self-acceptance, positive relationships with others, autonomy, mastery of the environment, having a purpose in life that provides direction and meaning in life, and self-growth are fulfilled. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of psychological well-being in the elderly at the Nursing Home. Method: The design of this study is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were 105 elderly elderly who lived at the Salib Putih Nursing Home of Salatiga, 83 samples were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The measuring instrument used was the Ryff's Psychological Well Being questionnaire for psychological well-being. The data analysis used was univariate analysis. Results: Most respondents are in the elderly category, 63 respondents (75.9%), the gender of the respondents is mostly female, 53 respondents (63.9%), the education of the respondents is mostly high school, 51 respondents (61.4%), the length of stay in the nursing home, most respondents are more than 1 year, 72 respondents (86.7%). Most of the elderly have moderate psychological well-being, 45 respondents (54.2%). Suggestion: In order for the psychological well-being of the elderly to be fulfilled, the elderly must improve positive relationships with others and be able to accept their shortcomings. ABSTRAK Masa lansia ditandai oleh berbagai perubahan, baik dalam aspek fisik, psikologis, maupun sosial, yang secara langsung memengaruhi kondisi tubuh dan mental mereka. Perubahan fisik yang terjadi pada lansia seringkali berdampak pada kondisi psikologis mereka. Kesejahteraan psikologis dapat meningkat apabila lansia mendapatkan dukungan baik dari keluarga, teman, dan lingkungan sekitarnya. Kesejahteraan psikologis lansia baik apabila terpenuhi aspek penerimaan diri, hubungan positif dengan orang lain, otonomi, penguasaan lingkungan, memiliki tujuan hidup yang memberikan arah dan makna dalam kehidupan, dan pertumbuhan diri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui gambaran kesejahteraan psikologis pada lansia di Panti Wredha. Desain penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini lansia yang bertempat tinggal di Panti Wredha Merbabu Salib Putih Salatiga sejumlah 105 lansia, dipilih sejumlah 83 sampel dengan teknik purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah kuesioner Ryff’s Psychological Well Being untuk kesejahteraan psikologis. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis univariat. Hasil : Sebagian besar responden memiliki usia kategori lanjut usia tua sebanyak 63 responden (75,9%), jenis kelamin responden sebagian besar perempuan sebanyak 53 responden (63,9%), pendidikan responden sebagian besar SMA sejumlah 51 responden (61.4%), lama tinggal di panti sebagian besar responden lebih dari 1 tahun sebanyak 72 responden (86.7%). Lansia sebagian besar memiliki kesejahteraan psikologis kategori sedang sebanyak 45 responden (54.2%). Lansia memiliki kategori kesejahteraan psikologis sedang. Kesejahteraan psikologis lansia agar terpenuhi maka lansia harus meningkatkan hubungan positif dengan orang lain, dan dapat menerima kekurangan dirinya.

supporting promotive and preventive efforts, particularly in realizing the Integrated Primary Service (ILP). However, the implementation of ILP at the Posyandu level still faces various challenges, especially related to the role of health cadres. Based on a preliminary study conducted in February 2025 in Tegalrejo Hamlet, Lerep Village, Semarang Regency, it was found that out of 15 active cadres, only 6 people (40%) fully understood the ILP concept, and only 4 people (26.7%) routinely carried out recording and reporting according to ILP standards. The survey results also showed that only 33% of Posyandu activities had integrated maternal and child health services, immunization, nutrition, and non-communicable diseases comprehensively. This activity aims to improve the capacity and role of health cadres in implementing ILP-based Posyandu through structured training and mentoring. Method: The method used was health education through counseling, participatory training, hands-on practice, and evaluation with pre-test and post-test. This activity was carried out over three weeks and involved all active cadres in Tegalrejo Hamlet.The activity showed an increase in the average cadre knowledge score from 59.3 (pre-test) to 85.7 (post-test). In addition, 80% of cadres showed improved skills in conducting simple screenings, service recording, and public education. Participatory-based training and intensive mentoring can effectively improve the capacity of cadres in implementing ILP-based Posyandu. Recommendation: This activity recommends continuous support from the Community Health Center (Puskesmas), village government, and strengthening the monitoring and evaluation system for cadres to ensure optimal and sustainable ILP implementation.   ABSTRAK Pelaksanaan Posyandu sebagai bagian dari pelayanan kesehatan tingkat dasar memiliki peran vital dalam mendukung upaya promotif dan preventif, terutama dalam mewujudkan Integrasi Layanan Primer (ILP). Namun, implementasi ILP di tingkat posyandu masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, khususnya terkait peran kader kesehatan. Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan pada Februari 2025 di Dusun Tegalrejo, Desa Lerep, Kabupaten Semarang, diketahui bahwa dari 15 kader aktif, hanya 6 orang (40%) yang memahami secara menyeluruh konsep ILP, dan hanya 4 orang (26,7%) yang rutin melakukan pencatatan dan pelaporan sesuai standar ILP. Hasil survei juga menunjukkan bahwa hanya 33% dari kegiatan posyandu telah mengintegrasikan layanan kesehatan ibu dan anak, imunisasi, gizi, serta penyakit tidak menular secara menyeluruh. kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kapasitas dan peran kader kesehatan dalam pelaksanaan Posyandu ILP melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan yang terstruktur. yang digunakan adalah pendidikan kesehatan melalui penyuluhan, pelatihan partisipatif, praktik langsung, dan evaluasi dengan pre-test dan post-test. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama tiga minggu dan melibatkan seluruh kader aktif di Dusun Tegalrejo. kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor pengetahuan kader dari nilai rata-rata 59,3 (pre-test) menjadi 85,7 (post-test). Selain itu, 80% kader menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan dalam melakukan skrining sederhana, pencatatan pelayanan, dan edukasi kepada masyarakat. dari kegiatan ini adalah bahwa pelatihan berbasis partisipatif dan pendampingan intensif dapat meningkatkan kapasitas kader dalam menjalankan peran pada pelaksanaan Posyandu ILP secara efektif. Rekomendasi kegiatan ini adalah perlunya dukungan berkelanjutan dari Puskesmas, pemerintah desa, serta penguatan sistem monitoring dan evaluasi kader agar implementasi ILP dapat berjalan optimal dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The prevalence of self-harm behavior among adolescents has increased significantly. Research conducted by Muehlenkamp et al. (2012) shows that about 17-18% of adolescents worldwide report having committed self-harm at least once in their lives. Family has a huge influence on the psychological and emotional development of adolescents. The purpose of this study is to find out how the implementation of family functions affects self-harm behavior in adolescents. This study uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The researcher will examine how to carry out family functions and also how self-harm behavior is carried out by adolescents, then look at the relationship between these two things. Research Subject: Adolescents aged 12-18 years as many as 183 students with total sampling technique. Data were collected using the Family Assessment Device (FAD) instrument to assess family function and the Deliberate Self-Harm Inventory (DSHI) to measure the frequency and intensity of self-harm in adolescents. Data will be analyzed using the Chi square correlational statistical technique to see the relationship between family function and self-harm behavior. The results showed that family function in the good category was 61.7% while family function in the bad category was 38.3%. Self-harm behavior in adolescents 23.5%. Based on the Chi Square test, a p value of 0.048 was obtained, meaning that there is a significant relationship between the implementation of family functions and self-harm behavior in adolescents.

Abstract

Indonesia ranks fifth with the highest bullying cases, which is 41.1% of 78 countries. The negative effects that occur on the victim are experiencing psychological disorders, including low self-esteem. Therefore, there is a need for health education related to bullying through video media. This media is effective because it is able to attract attention through real visualizations and audio that supports the content of the material. The purpose of this study is to find out the difference in students' knowledge before and after the provision of health education through video media. This research method uses the Quasy experimental pre posttest one group design method. The population in this study is all students of SMK NU Ungaran aged 15-18 years, in March 2024 a total of 820 students. The technique used for sampling in this study is Proportionate random sampling. The sample in this study is 92 students. This research instrument used a bullying knowledge questionnaire consisting of 15 statements with a choice of true, wrong answers and low, medium, and high knowledge measurement results. Of the 15 statements in this knowledge questionnaire, validity has been tested and declared valid all with a value range of 0.576-0.904. The results of the reliability test are 0.874. Bivariate analysis used a simple t test dependent test. The results of the study were obtained Most of the students' knowledge before the intervention was low category as many as 52 respondents (56.5%), while the knowledge after the intervention was mostly in the high category of 55 respondents (59.8%). The results of the dependent t-test were obtained with a p-value of 0.000 which proves that there is a difference in knowledge before and after health education through video media.

Abstract

The prevalence of Schizophrenia in adults is about 1 in 222 people (0.45%). Families caring for members suffering from schizophrenia need to build resilience to cope with the stress and pressure they face. Resilience is the process of staying firm and able to overcome existing sufferings, difficulties, and challenges. The purpose of this study is to find out the picture of family resilience in treating Schizophrenia patients. This type of research is quantitative observational with a descriptive approach. The population consists of all families caring for 100 schizophrenia patients. The number of samples in this study was 80 people with an accidental sampling technique. The family resilience measurement tool uses the Connor-Davidson Resillience Scale (CD-RISC) questionnaire containing 25 statements with aspects of emotional regulation, impulse control, optimism, analysis of the cause of problems, empathy, self-efficacy, and reaching out. Univariate analysis in this study includes frequency distribution. The results of the study showed that family resilience was in the high category as many as 49 people (61.3%), medium category as many as 30 people (37.5%) and low category as many as 1 person (1.2%). It is expected that families will increase family resilience by participating in self-efficacy training, learning skills in relieving existing emotions, focusing on optimism so that they can reduce the stress experienced in caring for their family members who suffer from schizophrenia.

Abstract

Minor injuries caused by physical activities are a common health issue faced by young people. Often, incorrect initial management traditionally can worsen the injury condition. This community service program is designed to enhance the understanding and skills of adolescents in handling minor injuries through counseling and training on bandaging and immobilization techniques using the drill and practice method. The training takes place in Dusun Sendang Putri RW 06, Desa Nyatnyono, and involves 20 adolescents aged 15 to 20 years. The methods used include interactive lectures, demonstrations, repetitive practice, discussions, and evaluations. The results of this activity show an increase in the knowledge and skills of the participants, evident from their ability to explain procedures as well as to independently apply bandaging and suturing techniques. The drill and practice approach has proven successful in enhancing the participants' confidence and accuracy in practice. This training is expected to contribute to the formation of responsive and skilled adolescents in providing first aid for minor injuries in their surroundings.   ABSTRAK Cedera ringan yang disebabkan oleh aktivitas fisik merupakan masalah kesehatan yang sering dihadapi oleh anak muda. Seringkali, penanganan awal yang dilakukan secara tidak benar secara tradisional dapat memperburuk kondisi cedera tersebut. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan remaja dalam menangani cedera ringan melalui penyuluhan serta pelatihan mengenai teknik pembalutan dan pembidaian dengan metode drill and practice. Pelatihan ini berlangsung di lingkungan Dusun Sendang Putri RW 06 Desa Nyatnyono dan melibatkan peserta remaja berusia 15 hingga 20 tahun yang berjumlah 20 orang remaja. Metode yang digunakan mencakup ceramah interaktif, demonstrasi, praktik berulang, diskusi, dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan dalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, terlihat dari kemampuan mereka untuk menjelaskan prosedur serta mengaplikasikan teknik pembalutan dan pembidaian secara mandiri. Pendekatan drill and practice terbukti berhasil dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan akurasi praktik peserta. Pelatihan ini diharapkan bisa berkontribusi pada pembentukan remaja yang responsif dan terampil dalam memberikan pertolongan pertama untuk cedera ringan di lingkungan sekitar.
