Abstract

This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors influencing the development of Manggasang Tourism in Batu Tunggal Village, Hantakan District, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, and to formulate the most effective strategies to enhance its attractiveness and competitiveness among other tourist destinations in South Kalimantan. A qualitative method with a SWOT analysis approach was employed. Primary data were collected through field observations, semistructured interviews with tourism managers, local residents, and visitors, as well as visual documentation. Secondary data were obtained from local government reports, publications by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), and relevant literature. The research results show that the internal factors of Manggasang Tourism received a total score of 2.89, consisting of strengths amounting to 2.00 and weaknesses of 0.89. The main advantage lies in the natural beauty that remains pristine and attractive photo spots, while the weaknesses include limited infrastructure and supporting facilities. The external factors recorded a total score of 2.95, with opportunities of 1.62 in the form of government policy support, social media promotion, and ecotourism trends, while threats of 1.33 include competition from other tourist destinations and extreme weather conditions. The SWOT analysis produced a strategic coordinate of (1.11; 0.29), placing Wisata Manggasang in Quadrant I, where a growth strategy is considered the most appropriate for future development. This strategy relies on leveraging internal strengths to seize external opportunities through sustainable improvement of facilities, promotion, and diversification of tourism services

Abstract

Tourism plays an important role in the development of local economic. Tourism has been reported contributes significantly in the local development. Floating market in South Kalimantan has potentiality as tourism attraction, but there are limited study of the value of floating market as tourism attraction. This paper aims to describe the floating market in Lok Baitan, South Kalimantan as a potential attraction for local tourism development. This paper confirm that principally floating market is the integral part of the local people in South Kalimantan, especially who live along Barito rivers. Floating market rich in term of natural and cultural resources that is potential to further development as tourism attractions. There are also numerous possibility to develop tourism programs, ranging from nature based tourism to cultural tourism. In the perspective of tourism development, the community based tourism see to be the significant strategy to develop. Through community based tourism, floating market tourism in Lok Baitan will contribute to the local economi development. From such resources, there are numerous possibility for the development of tourism program and attractions. In such a case, floating market tourism in Lok Baitan should be set up following community based tourism. This will become the key for tourism as a component and strategy for local economic development. Abstract

River become integral part of the Banjarese live in Lok Baitan, South Kalimantan. The economic value of the river has been reported very high. Rivesr is a habitat for numerous fishes which area important for local people along rivers. Rives also provide corridor for people movement. Rivers also place for economic activity. Floating market is a market located at rivers with traditional trader and seller equipped by traditional boat called Jukung. Along the Barito River, floating market point found in two place, Muara Quin and Lok Baitan. Fruit and vegetables are become the mains items in traditional floating market in Lok Baitan. Floating market has its special value for tourism attractions. Continued decrease of youngest generation to the river-based culture economic activity has been the central aspect of the future of floating market. This situation is different for modern market, which is interested among young generation in south Kalimantan. Abstract

Hulu Sungai Selatan regency, South Kalimantan, has potentiality to be developed as tourism destinations. It is especially important for local economic development, cultural preservation, and natural resources conservation. The objective of the research is to identify the tourism potentiality in Hulu Sungai Selatan regency. Result of the study shows that Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency has numerous potential tourism objects, ranging from man-made to natural attractions. On the future development, special interest tourism such as nature-based tourism, ecotourism, culinary tourism religious tourism, history and cultural tourism are potentials to be developed. The sustainable principles of tourism practices should be adopted by local government in every aspect of tourism development. It is especially crucial for natural resources and biodiversity protection; while in the same time enhance the quality of attraction and destination.Keywords: ecotourism, Hulu Sungai Selatan, tourism development, tropical conservation.

Abstract

Lok Baintan Floating Market is the tourism destination in South Kalimantan. Trading activity in Lok Baintan become the tourism attraction, which traders in the Floating Market are women using the small boat (jukung). The objective of research is to analyze the role of women in Lok Baintan Floating Market. The study uses fieldwork and qualitative approach. Research data is obtained through interviews with traders in the Floating Market. The research shows that women have the important role in floating market. The role of women is to prepare the merchandise the day before selling until then they sell in the floating market in next day. Merchandise is sold by women in the floating market such as agricultural products, fishery products, handicrafts, traditional cuisine, and traditional cakes. Women get both agricultural product and fishery product from their own land or from other traders. Women make their own craft and then sold in the floating market. Women make both traditional dishes and traditional cake and then sold in the floating market. The presence of women in Lok Baintan has improved the local socio-economics of community. In the perspective of tourism development in floating market, there is still need women community empowerment.Keywords: floating market, tourism destination, women role.

Abstract

Lok Baintan floating market is the destination tourism in South Kalimantan Province. The trader activity in the floating market becomes the attractiveness of tourism activity. The diversity of good sold in the floating market becomes one of the determinants for tourism sustainability. The tourism sustainability in Lok Baintan Floating Market is the responsibility of both community and government. The objective of this research was to analyze the role of government for local product processing in Lok Baintan Floating Market to improve the tourism activity. This research is focused on local government who has the responsibility for local product processing in Lok Baintan Floating market, i.e. Tourism Agency of South Kalimantan Province, Tourism Agency of Banjar Regency, Fishery Agency of Banjar Regency, Agriculture and Farm Agency of Banjar Regency, and Head of Lok Baintan Village. The research used qualitative method, which used observation, depth interview, and document as the data collection technique. The results of the study showed that tourism activities in Lok Baintan became one of the priorities of tourism development in South Kalimantan, but not managed maximally yet. First, the Products sold in the floating market were still raw goods. Then the processing of products sold in the floating market had not been a priority of activities undertaken by local the government. Moreover, limitations of costs were the main cause of the absence of training in agricultural product processing, fishery product processing and handicraft production in the tourist area of Lok Baintan. Processing and diversity of goods sold in the floating market become a determinant of the sustainability of tourism activities in Lok Baintan Floating Market.Keywords: Government, Local product, Lok Baintan Floating Market, tourism.

Abstract

The destination of tourism in South Kalimantan Province was Lok Baintan Floating Market. Lok Baintan Floating Market was an icon of Banjar cultural tourism. The objective of this research was to analyze the livelihoods of women traders in Lok Baintan Floating Market as a tourism area. It also to analyze the influential factor of women trader livelihood in the Lok Baintan Floating Market. Data collection used survey methods and questionnaires. The number of Women traders was 50 people. The analysis used was by calcifying index values and factor tests. Livelihood index values determined the level of livelihood of women traders. Factor tests determined the factors that most influence for livelihood level of women traders. The results showed that the livelihoods of Women traders were in the moderate category. It means that natural resource assets, financial assets, human resource assets, physical assets, social assets, access, and activities were still able to support women's lives in tourist areas. Physical assets had the highest value of the sustainable livelihood approach (SLA), which was 73.33%. Financial assets had the lowest value of SLA, which was 50.00%. The influences of factor 1 and factor 2 were 62.778% for women trader livelihoods. Factors in group 1 were natural resource assets, financial assets, and human assets. Abstract

Kampung Sasirangan is one of the centers of traditional textile production of Banjarese called Sasirangan in South Kalimantan. Sasirangan was produced by the local community in the home industry scale with traditional process and production. The aim of the research is to identify and develop strategy to develop Kampung Sasirangan as an edutourism destination. The methods consist of direct observation in the home industry of Sasirangan traditional textile, in-depth interview, literature study, and focus group discussion. Research result shows that strategy to create edutourism sites of Sasirangan textile should include local community and local government participation. The Sasirangan product should be able to create a competitive product, reasonable prices, and high quality of the textile product. To provide edutourism attraction for educational purposes, it is important to provide a program for tourist to directly observe the traditional process to make Sasirangan. A guide from local people or craftsmen was important to ensure the interpretation of the traditional process was delivered properly. In such a case, the community development is crucial. The local government should be able to promote community development program through the establishment of a community group which is work in edutourism in the village. There also important to provide training, working capital, production tools, and assistance in promotion and marketing. Keywords: Edutourism, traditional textile, Sasirangan.

Abstract

Ecotourism development in Mt. Meratus, South Kalimantan, is crucial to support the future development and forest use in the South Kalimantan area. Ecotourism provides a mechanism to use forest resources sustainably while at the same time provides opportunities for local economic growth. This paper aims to describe the potential resources of Mt. Meratus to support the ecotourism program in South Kalimantan. The development of ecotourism in Mt. Meratus has been crucial since the area has a high level of geo-biodiversity and cultural resources, which are important for the future human being. Protecting and promoting indigenous knowledge of the community in the Mt. Meratus geo-site area are important to support sustainable development programs, including the development of ecotourism as one of the practices of responsible travels to the natural ecosystem.Keywords: biodiversity conservation, geotourism, Mt. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis persepsi wisatawan terhadap implementasi Sapta Pesona di objek wisata Pantai Batakan Baru yang berlokasi di Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam kategori studi deskriptif yang menggunakan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Tashakkori dan Creswell, sebagaimana dikutip dalam Donna M. Martens (2010), mendefinisikan metode campuran (mixed methods) sebagai suatu pendekatan penelitian yang mengintegrasikan pengumpulan dan analisis data, mengombinasikan temuan, serta menarik kesimpulan inferensial dengan memanfaatkan dua pendekatan berbeda, yaitu kuantitatif dan kualitatif, dalam satu kajian penelitian. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama satu minggu di lokasi penelitian, yakni pada tanggal 24 Mei hingga 30 Mei 2025, kemudian dilanjutkan kembali pada tanggal 30 Agustus 2025. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui beberapa teknik, antara lain observasi, penyebaran kuesioner, dan studi pustaka. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 50 responden yang sedang berkunjung ke Pantai Batakan Baru. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Skala Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi wisatawan terhadap penerapan Sapta Pesona di Pantai Batakan Baru berada dalam kategori baik, berdasarkan tujuh unsur utama, yaitu aman, tertib, bersih, sejuk, indah, ramah, dan memberikan kenangan. Namun demikian, terdapat satu aspek yang perlu mendapat perhatian khusus dari pengelola destinasi wisata, yakni kebersihan. Hal ini disebabkan masih ditemukannya beberapa area yang kurang terawat, adanya sampah yang berserakan, serta keterbatasan fasilitas tempat sampah yang memadai. Oleh karena itu, pengelola disarankan untuk meningkatkan pengelolaan kebersihan di kawasan wisata guna menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih nyaman serta meningkatkan kepuasan pengunjung
