Abstract

Low metacognitive abilities and high-level thinking cause students to have difficulty understanding genetics course material. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of PBLRQA, PBL, and RQA strategies on students' metacognitive and higher-order thinking skills. This research uses a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Sampling was carried out on 118 students consisting of four classes using saturated sampling techniques. The research instruments used were observation sheets on lecturer and student activities, essay-based metacognitive skills tests, and multiple-choice tests on high-level thinking skills. Lecturer and student activity data were analyzed based on the percentage of indicators categorized as high and very high syntactically. Data on metacognitive skills and higher-order thinking were analyzed using the Normalized Gain and Independent Kruskal Wallis tests. Research findings show that implementing PBLRQA, PBL, and RQA strategies is ineffective in improving students' metacognitive and higher-order thinking skills. To follow up on these findings, further research is needed to explore the involvement of learning styles and social support on students' metacognitive skills and higher-order thinking skills, focusing on implementing PBLRQA and RQA strategies.

Abstract

A deficit in teachers' skills and knowledge in designing innovative technology-based learning can impact student learning outcomes. This community service aims to provide training on designing learning using the STEM-based PBL model for teachers at SMP Negeri 18 Palu, Central Sulawesi. This program involved 40 SMP Negeri 18 Palu teachers and was conducted in July 2024. Utilizing a participatory action research approach, this program included material presentations, interactive discussions, and assignments assessed through questionnaires, observation sheets, and assignment sheets. The questionnaires were distributed before training activities, observation sheets were used during training and mentoring activities, and assignment sheets were distributed immediately after the discussion ended. The outcomes of the questionnaire showed that 100% of teachers analyzed learning outcomes and learning objectives before designing the lesson, 90% of teachers were familiar with PBL, 45% of teachers had designed learning using the PBL and implemented it, 10% of teachers had mastered PBL syntax and 100% of teachers had never designed learning with a STEM and combining it with PBL. The observation results were that 100% of teachers in each group played an active role, helped each other and worked together to complete assignments, established good communication with fellow teachers in their groups, and had a high level of responsibility in completing their group assignments. The assignment results show that 100% of teachers succeeded in designing learning using the PBL learning model and integrating it with a STEM approach. This community service’s success suggests a continued need for similar training efforts in designing STEM-based PBL models. Expanding workshops to facilitate the implementation of STEM-integrated PBL models in learning is also necessary.Top of Form

Abstract

Penelitian ini untuk menentukan hubungan keterampilan pembuatan video pembelajaran dengan hasil belajar mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Tadulako. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa kelas D angkatan 2019 program studi pendidikan biologi FKIP Universitas Tadulako yang berjumlah 28 orang yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok masing-masing terdiri dari 14 mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dari 2 sumber data yaitu nilai keterampilan membuat video dan nilai hasil belajar mahasiswa. Pengolahan data mengunakan bantuan aplikasi SPSS 26 dengan uji korelasi diperoleh nilai Pearson Correlation 0, 510, nilai tersebut masuk dalam kategori sedang. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak, artinya terdapat hubungan positif signifikan antara keterampilan pembuatan video pembelajaran dengan hasil belajar mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Tadulako.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pengaruh penerapan media audiovisual gerak pada pembelajaran biologi terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XI MIPA SMAN 1 Parigi Utara. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA 1 dan XI MIPA 2 di SMAN 1 Parigi Utara yang berjumlah 49 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik sampling populasi atau sampel jenuh. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian mengenai pengaruh penerapan media audiovisual gerak pada pembelajaran biologi terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XI MIPA SMAN 1 Parigi Utara, peneliti dapat menarik kesimpulan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan media audiovisual gerak pada pembelajaran Biologi terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XI MIPA SMAN 1 Parigi Utara. Hal ini ditunjukan oleh perhitungan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS versi 22 dimana nilai Sig (2-tailed) = 0,017 < 0,05 maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak, artinya terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara penerapan media audiovisual gerak pada pembelajaran biologi terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XI MIPA SMAN 1 Parigi Utara.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT) pada mata pelajaran IPA kelas VIII A di SMP Negeri 1 Balaesang Tanjung. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII A SMP Negeri 1 Balaesang Tanjung yang berjumlah 20 siswa. Pengambilan data menggunakan metode observasi dan metode tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian mengenai penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPA kelas VIII A di SMP Negeri 1 Balaesang Tanjung, peneliti dapat menarik kesimpulan bahwa hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa hingga mencapai ketuntasan sesuai dengan standar ketuntasan yang telah ditetapkan yaitu 65%. Adapun persentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal siswa pada siklus I hanya mencapai 60% sedangkan pada siklus II mencapai 90%, hal ini menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan yang signifikan. Persentase aktivitas guru dalam penerapan metode pembelajaran ini mencapai 68,75% pada siklus I sedangkan pada siklus II mencapai 96% dengan kategori sangat baik. Selain itu, persentase aktivitas siswa pada siklus I dan siklus II mencapai 97,3% yang termasuk kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis adanya pengaruh model pembelajaran Reading Question and Answer terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran Biologi kelas XI SMAN 7 Palu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 72 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh model pembelajaran RQA terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis pada mata pelajaran Biologi pada kelas eksperimen. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan Uji Hipotesis dengan menggunakan Uji T yang menunjukkan nilai Sig. (2 tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,005 maka H1 diterima dan HO ditolak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membantu proses pembelajaran, agar model pembelajaran yang dipakai tidak monoton, sehingga siswa tidak merasa bosan saat belajar, maka dari itu peneliti menggunakan model pembelajaran Blended Learning. Model Blended Learning yang akan dilaksanakan adalah pembelajaran yang berasis online dan offline serta akan dikombinasikan tiga metode pembelajaran, yaitu: project based learning, diskusi, dan eksperimen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas Blended Learning untuk memperbaiki minat belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri Satap 2 Bolano Lambunu. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain one shot case. Penelitian ini melibatkan satu kelas saja yaitu kelas VIII yang terdiri dari 23 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian skala minat belajar siswa melalui angket minat belajar siswa yang sudah diisi sebelum dan sesudah diajarkan menggunakan blended learning. Setelah data diperoleh dari hasil penelitian maka data tersebut dianalisis dengan 2 cara, yaitu dengan teknik analisis deskriptif dan uji prasyarat. Hasil analisis data yang diperoleh sebelum diajarkan menggunakan Blended Learning nilai rata-ratanya 57,17 dan sesudah diajarkan menggunakan Blended Learning nilai rata-ratanya 84,78. Hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh dari hasil uji-t yaitu thitung 16,94 > ttabel 2,074 dengan taraf signifikansi (α) = 0,05, maka Hα diterima, sehingga pada hasil tersebut menunjukkan adanya perbedaan minat belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah diajarkan menggunakan Blended Learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of video-based learning media on student learning outcomes in Biology class X at SMA Negeri 5 Palu. The background of this study is based on the low student learning outcomes caused by the use of learning media that are still predominantly conventional, such as lectures and textbooks. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of 66 students, divided into an experimental class (X M1, 33 students) with video-based learning treatment, and a control class (X M2, 33 students) with conventional methods. The research instruments included a questionnaire to determine student responses and learning outcome  tests in the form of pre-tests and post-tests. Data analysis was carried out through validity tests, reliability tests, swimmer tests, and non-parametric tests (Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann-Whitney U Test) with the help of SPSS. The results showed that both the experimental and control groups experienced an increase in learning outcomes from pre-test to post-test, but the experimental group obtained a higher average score with a significant difference (p < 0.001). The questionnaire reliability test produced a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.826 which is included in the very reliable category. The Mann-Whitney test showed a mean rank of the experimental group of 50.00, higher than the control of 17.00. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of video-based learning media has a significant effect and is more effective than conventional methods in improving students' understanding of Virus material in Biology subjects.

Abstract

Advances in information and communication technology have brought changes in the education world, including using e-learning modules as a substitute for printed modules. However, students' lack of prior knowledge hinders participation in discussions and problem-solving. This study aims to create a problem-based e-learning module using the HTML5 Package (H5P) platform to improve student's critical thinking and collaboration skills in Biology subjects in Senior High Schools (SMA). This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D model. The subjects of this study were 30 grade X students. The instruments used were validation sheets, essay questions, and observation sheets. Data analysis techniques used quantitative and qualitative analysis. The validation results showed that the developed e-learning module met the feasible category with a validity level of 73.46%, practicality by teachers of 88.57% (very practical), practicality by students of 82.7% (very practical), and its effectiveness reached the high category (N-gain 0.80). The implementation of this e-module showed an increase in students' critical thinking skills by 81.64% and collaboration skills by 91.31%, which are included in the very effective category. The results of this study prove that interactive learning using H5P can improve the effectiveness of learning and students' critical thinking and collaboration skills in the 21st century. This study implies that problem-based teaching e-modules using the HTML5 Package Platform in Biology subjects can improve students' critical thinking and collaboration skills.
