Abstract

Abstrak: Revolusi industri 4.0 menyasar pada teknologi terapan dan berdampak langsung kepada masyarakat termasuk golongan yang bergerak pada bidang pendidikan yakni guru dan dosen. Para pendidik dituntut untuk selalu berinovasi dengan metode belajar, model pembelajaran, penilaian serta umpan baliknya terutama di masa pandemi COVID-19. Untuk itu, dilaksanakanlah kegiatan workshop dengan tema pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi mobile (bergerak) dilengkapi teknologi augmented reality dalam pelaksanaan asesmen formatif IPA. Tujuan workshop ini adalah membantu para guru dalam pelaksanaan penilaian (asesmen) berbantuan teknologi yang sedang berkembang saat ini yaitu Augmented Reality terintegrasi dengan teknologi internet dan perangkat bergerak lainnya di masa pandemik. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini terdiri dari tiga tahapan utama yakni tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan penyusunan laporan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan workshop ini dilaksanakan secara daring melalui platform Zoom pada tanggal 16-18 Juni 2020 yang terdiri dari penyampaian materi 1 dan materi 2, diskusi, serta tugas mandiri. Kegiatan pengabdian berjalan baik dan lancar dengan 97,1% peserta menyatakan materi yang dibawakan jelas dan bobot tugas yang proporsional, Selain itu, sebanyak empat orang peserta workshop berhasil mendiseminasikan karyanya melalui sebuah seminar berskala nasional.Abstract: Industrial revolution 4.0 targets applied technology and directly impacts people including the educational community such as teachers and lecturers. The educators are required to keep innovating the learning method, model, and assessment along with its feedback, especially in the COVID-19 pandemic era. Thus, a workshop with the theme of the use of mobile applications equipped with augmented reality in Science formative assessment was conducted. The purpose of this workshop is to assist the teachers in conducting assessments equipped with currently developing technology which is the Augmented Reality integrated with the internet and other mobile applications in the pandemic era. The activity of this community service consists of three main stages including planning, execution, and reporting. The workshop execution was conducted virtually through the Zoom platform on June 16th-18th, 2020 including the presentation of 1st and 2nd material, discussion, and independent structured assignment. The community service went well and smoothly with the material clarity responses reached 97.1% and proportional workload. Besides, four participants have submitted and disseminated their papers through a national-scaled conference.

Abstract

The purpose of this research and development is to produce Guided-Inquiry Based Teaching Materials Enriched by Augmented Reality (AR) on the subject of light and optics for 8th grade which is feasible and valid, as a teaching materials during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research and development using Lee and Owen’s method. However, it was narrowed down into 3 stages only, which are: assessment/analysis, design, and development stage. The teaching material’s validity was obtained from expert’s validation result, while the feasibility was obtained from the feasibility test on the students. Developed teaching materials takes form of an A5 sized pocket book, and discuss about the basic competencies in the subject of light and optics. Subject delivery served through learning module, learning video, and AR technology on image formation as well as using Google Form as student worksheet. The validation result shows that developed teaching materials are feasible and valid with score percentage more than 61 percent.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop a valid and practical science learning media that integrated with mobile application (EduKIT). This EduKIT provide activities so students can have experiences to string and think solution about any problems integrated by technology as demanded of Education in 21st century. This research using ADDIE model which is only limited to the development stage. At each stage, an evaluation process is carried out to produce the maximum product. To measure the validity and feasibility of the media, an instrument in the form of a questionnaire was used. Quantitative data is obtained from the score given by the validator against each criterion and indicator on the validation sheet. While the qualitative data is obtained from the advice given by the validator. The result shows that the EduKIT was highly valid to use with the percentage 98% and 99% for validation media and content validity respectively. This assessment was tested on two science education experts. While the result for the readability test by five teachers was 96% and 91% from ten junior students. Those percentage (>90%) show very practical and highly valid to be used. Based on the results of the validation and readibility test, it can be concluded that EduKIT was valid and practical, so it is suitable for students to use as a learning medium to practice problem solving skills in preparing the 21st century generation.

Abstract

In this study, students’ scientific reasoning ability was set as the main indicator to measure the learning achievement via guided inquiry. The research was based on mixing two analitycal techniques using quantitative and qualitative data. The pre/post-test scores were used as the quantitative data to evaluate the students’ reasoning abilities. The comprehensive statistical analyses were done to evaluate (1) the difference level of the pre/post-test scores using paired t-test, (2) the increase level of the test score by calculating the N-gain, and (3) the effectivity of the learning model realization on the increased score through the d-effect size analysis. Indeed, those statistical analyses were executed after the pre/post-test scores were normally distributed and in accepted skewness interval. The experimental results, involving 24 junior high school students, showed that the calculated t value was 11.63 higher than that of the score in the t­-table. Meanwhile, the N-gain value and the d­-effect size 0.8 (upper medium level) and 3.56 (very high category), respectively. Thus, the guided inquiry model provided significant effect on the increase in students’ test scores in measuring their scientific reasoning abilities. In addition, the qualitative observation indicated that the learning model was well implemented

Abstract

Mathematics is the language of physics. The best way to describe a physical phenomenon is by describing its mathematical representations. In addition, viewing the graphical diagram of the corresponding mathematical expression is crucial to deeply understand the physical events. Therefore, setting simple experiments in real time to (1) observe the phenomena, (2) view the related diagrams, and (3) extract the mathematical representations is required. In this study, the real time and simple experimental set-up (consisting of ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04 connected to an Arduino Uno board) was designed to perceive the motion of a spring-mass system. The spring force, which is equal to the object’s weight, and displacement or spring elongation data were recorded for the object (with varying mass) attached to the spring. A small external downward force was given to stimulate the simple harmonic motion of the vertical spring-mass system. The displacement as the function of time of the spring-mass motion was recorded. With those measurements, the sinusoidal patterns, representing the simple harmonic motion characteristics, were also observed. The spring constants were 6.35(2) N/m and 6.26(1) N/m for the displacements measured by sensor and ruler, respectively. The periods form the angular frequency of the displacement function and from the spring constant (acquired from sensor data fitting) showed consistent results with very high accuracy. This simple experimental set-up is believed to fulfill the technological-based learning demand.

Abstract

Background: The current COVID-19 pandemic has led to school learning from offline to online. Basically, the main task of the teacher is to educate, teach, guide, direct, assess and evaluate students, where these tasks must be carried out by the teacher in any condition, especially the current COVID-19 pandemic. One of the most important media in online learning is the internet. MGMP is a forum for communication between subject teachers to improve teacher competence. Therefore, training on the development of web-based learning instruments was conducted for the IPA MGMP of Jombang Regency. Method: The stages of the activity include: 1) preparation, namely planning schedules and activities, 2) implementation, namely training carried out in the form of material delivery, discussion and presentation of participants, and 3) evaluation, namely the retrieval of response data of trainees for improvement of further activities. The trainees were 65 science teachers who were members of MGMP IPA Jombang Regency. Result: The first two days consisted of delivering learning video development materials using the OBS application, Google Form, Quizizz and Google Classroom, then participants working independently. Meanwhile, for the third day there is a presentation of the results of independent work by the participants and a review. Conclusion: implementation of this training has been good and has helped participants (science teachers) improve their skills in developing web-based learning instruments

Abstract

Teacher’s domination in teaching science subject is still found in many schools, including junior high schools. Since then, students experience a lack of direct observation leading to not only their low conceptual understanding, but also their higher order thinking ability. Therefore, the implementation of a proper learning model becomes a crucial breakthrough. In this present paper, we focus on the influence of learning model with inquiry level of interactive demonstration (as the experimental class) and discovery-based learning model (as the control class) on the VIII grade students’ higher order thinking ability. We used posttest only control group design by means of using 20 validated multiple choice questions with reliability of 0.872. The data analyses were completed comprehensively, from normality test to t-test on students’ ability. As the conclusion, according to those data analyses, students’ higher thinking skill is better when students are thought by interactive demonstration rather than by discovery learning.

Abstract

UKM camilan rengginang yang berada di Desa Tirtomarto, Kecamatan Ampelgading, Malang. UKM camilan rengginang yang bergerak dalam bidang olahan makanan ini juga menjadi dampak dari perkembangan teknologi yang pesat, UKM camilan rengginang ini memproduksi olahan makanan yaitu rengginang, kerupuk. Dalam proses produksinya, UKM camilan rengginang ini setiap harinya mampu mengolah sebanyak 100 kilogram beras ketan perhari dengan proses produksi yang masih sangat sederhana. Selain itu, kendala dalam hal peningkatan produksi yang lainnya ialah pada saat proses pengeringan, karena dalam hal ini masih mengandalkan sinar matahari. Sehingga ketergantungan pada kondisi iklim saat pengeringan, menjadikan persoalan tersendiri. Ini mengakibatkan tidak bisa mengoptimalkan kapasitas produksi, karena proses pengeringan tergantung pada intensitas cahaya matahari, yang memerlukan tempat yang sangat luas. Selain itu, higienis produk juga menjadi faktor yang tidak diperhatikan. Selama ini, proses penurunan kadar air rengginang dilakukan dengan menjemur di bawah sinar matahari selama lebih kurang 1-2 hari. Proses pengeringan secara konvensional yang dilakukan memiliki beberapa kelemahan yaitu rendahnya higienitas produk, konsumsi waktu pengeringan dan intensitas matahari yang tidak merata sepanjang hari. Hasil penelitian diperoleh keefektifan waktu dengan perbandingan waktu standart (Ws) alat baru sebesar 23,56 menit dan untuk alat lama waktu standart (Ws) sebesar 487,13 atau 8,11 jam dan output standart (Os) alat baru sebesar 2,1 kg / jam sedangkan output standart (Os) alat lama sebesar 0,102 kg / jam

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology is currently driving the development of internet networks around the world. This internet can be useful in various fields including education. Education is currently experiencing system changes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The learning is carried out online. Therefore, it takes teacher skills in preparing online learning media. Based on this, a web-based instrument development workshop activity was carried out for science teachers in the IPA MGMP of Jombang Regency. The number of participants was 65 science teachers in the IPA MGMP of Jombang Regency. The workshop was held for three days online via the zoom platform. The first two days were the delivery of learning video development materials using the OBS application, google form, quizizz and google classroom then the participants worked independently. The third day was a presentation of the participants' independent work. The workshop participants were enthusiastic about participating in the workshop as seen from the zpost-workshop survey results. This workshop resulted in 60 web-based instrument products and articles on the development of participant instruments.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dalam pengajaran menulis teks eksposisi melalui pendekatan berbasis teks (Genre Based Approach). Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dalam menggambarkan kegiatan menulis teks peserta didik untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses pembelajaran menulis teks dan untuk mengetahui sikap peserta didik dalam menulis teks melalui pendekatan berbasis teks. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalpinang dikelas XI. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pre-eksperimen untuk satu kelompok diberikan tes awal dan tes akhir (Creswell, 2008). Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari tes awal dan tes akhir dan kuesioner. Data dari tes awal- tes akhir, untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan menulis teks eksposisi peserta didik dengan menggunakan Match T-tes. Data dari kuesioner, untuk menggambarkan pertanyaan penelitian kedua, dianalisis dengan menggunakan Skala Likert dan dikategorikan ke dalam tiga kategori: Positif, Netral, dan Negatif seperti yang disarankan oleh (Azwar, 2012). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan signifikan kemampuan menulis peserta didik setelah menerapkan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dalam menulis teks eksposisi melalui Pendekatan berbasis teks. Peserta didik memahami materi yang dijelaskan dengan baik dan dapat menulis teks eksposisi dengan baik pula dikarenakan peserta didik dapat mengeksplor diri dalam menulis dikarenakan ketertarikan mereka terhadap topik yang dipilih sendiri, kesiapan peserta didik dalam menulis teks serta penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi yang berfokus pada peserta didik melalui pendekatan berbasis teks. Selain itu, data menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik memiliki sikap positif dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi melalui GBA. Peserta didik berasumsi bahwa penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi memfasilitasi mereka dalam proses menulis melalui GBA.
