Abstract

Problem-solving ability is a crucial competence in mathematics learning, particularly for topics such as exponents and logarithms that are often perceived as abstract and difficult. Limited use of interactive learning media and insufficient opportunities for exploration commonly cause students to struggle in understanding and applying these concepts. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of an interactive flipbook based on discovery learning in improving students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities. A pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed involving 28 tenth-grade students. The instruments included observation sheets of learning activities, a student response questionnaire, and learning achievement tests consisting of a pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including N-gain analysis. The findings indicate that students’ learning activities improved across meetings, and their responses toward the flipbook and the learning model were positive, with an average score of 3.03. The mean pretest score increased from 19.29 to 67.14 on the posttest, with an N-gain of 0.60 categorized as moderate. Improvements were also observed across problem-solving indicators, particularly in modeling, strategy selection, and concept application. Overall, the interactive flipbook based on discovery learning proved effective in enhancing conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills, making it a valuable digital resource for mathematics instruction. This study contributes empirical evidence on how discovery learning–based interactive flipbooks selectively enhance different indicators of mathematical problem-solving ability, highlighting their stronger impact on problem representation and strategy formulation compared to interpretation and real-world application.

Abstract

This activity aims to enhance teachers’ competence in applying contextual mathematics instruction through sports activities via the SportMath Learning program. The program is implemented using a participatory and collaborative approach, targeting mathematics teachers and Physical Education, Sports, and Health teachers. The implementation methods include preparation, outreach, workshops and training, practice and simulation, implementation support, and activity evaluation. The learning activities implemented include measuring running speed, calculating game scores, measuring ball throw distance, presenting sports data in the form of tables and diagrams, and applying geometric concepts on the sports field. The results indicate an improvement in teachers’ understanding and skills in designing sports-based mathematics lessons. Additionally, the implementation of SportMath Learning enhances student motivation, participation, and engagement in mathematics learning. This program also fosters an active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning environment for students. The conclusion is that SportMath Learning can serve as an innovative learning alternative that supports the strengthening of numeracy literacy and contextual learning in schools.

Abstract

Pergeseran paradigma pendidikan dari pembelajaran berpusat pada guru menuju pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada peserta didik menuntut satuan pendidikan untuk tidak hanya memenuhi standar administratif mutu, tetapi juga mengimplementasikan praktik pembelajaran yang bermakna dan berpihak pada siswa. Sistem Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan (SPMP) memiliki peran strategis dalam memastikan mutu pembelajaran berjalan secara terencana, berkelanjutan, dan selaras dengan kebutuhan peserta didik. Namun, pada praktiknya, guru masih mengalami kesenjangan pemahaman dalam mengaitkan standar mutu dengan strategi pembelajaran student-centered. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mensosialisasikan SPMP kepada guru di MIN Fakfak dengan fokus pada implementasi pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi dan pendampingan yang menekankan pemahaman konsep SPMP, pembelajaran aktif, serta integrasi standar mutu ke dalam praktik pembelajaran di kelas. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman guru terhadap konsep pembelajaran berpusat pada peserta didik, perubahan paradigma dalam perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran, serta kesadaran akan pentingnya iklim belajar yang kondusif dan partisipatif. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi dalam memperkuat budaya mutu Madrasah dan menjadi langkah awal peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran yang relevan dengan tuntutan kompetensi abad ke-21 di MIN Fakfak

Abstract

In mathematics education, the integration of innovative approaches is essential to support deaf students' mastery of mathematical concepts. Students with special needs exhibit learning characteristics distinct from their typically developing peers, requiring educators to possess specialized pedagogical skills that facilitate the development of critical thinking.. Observations conducted at a Special School (SLB) in Sorong City revealed that mathematics instruction remained conventional and lacked teaching materials capable of effectively stimulating critical thinking among students with special needs. This study, therefore, aims to develop an interactive e-module grounded in Problem Based Learning (PBL) that is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing critical thinking skills. The research employed the ADDIE model and involved 10 SDLB students as participants. The resulting e-module received a material expert validity score of 4.46 and an average media expert validity of 3.36. Furthermore, the average student score of 54.09 indicated that this e-module was effective in fostering students' critical thinking skills. In terms of learning outcomes, the average pretest score of 30,100 increased to 84,500 post-intervention, with an average N-gain of 54.00, classified within the “highly effective” category. These findings suggest that the development of PBL-based-e-modules significantly enhnaces the critical thinking skills of deaf and speech-impaired studentsspeech-impaired.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan literasi matematika karena proses pembelajaran yang kurang kontekstual dan bahan ajar yang belum optimal. Berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan, mahasiswa lebih memilih e-modul sebagai media belajar. Oleh karena itu, dikembangkan e-modul berbasis PjBL untuk mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih kontekstual, aktif, dan meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematika mahasiswa.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan e-modul trigonometri berbasis PJBL guna meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematika mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan PGSD Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahap yaitu Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 48 mahasiswa Program Studi PGSD semester II Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar validasi ahli (media dan materi), angket respon mahasiswa, serta soal pretest dan postest untuk mengukur kemampuan literasi matematika hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa e-modul dapat diklasifikasikan sebagai sangat valid, dengan rerata 4,5 dari validator media​ dan rerata 4,6 dari validator materi. Selanjutnya hasil kepraktisan​ e-modul memperoleh skor​ sebesar 94% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Analisis efektivitas  melalui uji N- gain menunjukkan sebuah peningkatan dalam literasi matematika dengan kategori sedang. Selain itu, hasil uji t menunjukkan signifikansi​ perbedaan (p < 0,05) antara sebelum dan setelah menggunakan e-modul. Dengan demikian, e-modul berbasis PJBL  terbukti valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan siswa literasi matematika dan direkomendasikan untuk penerapan dalam pembelajaran.
