Abstract

General Background: Reliable electricity supply is a fundamental requirement for societal productivity, requiring distribution network maintenance strategies that minimize service interruptions. Specific Background: Live-line maintenance using PDKB distance and direct contact methods on 20 kV medium-voltage overhead lines remains constrained by task-specific equipment, resulting in operational inefficiency, worker fatigue, and continued reliance on outages for certain constructions such as double insulator pedestal and double strain insulator. Knowledge Gap: Economic analyses of multifunctional maintenance equipment capable of supporting multiple PDKB tasks without power outages are still limited, particularly for integrated tools applied to diverse construction configurations. Aims: This study aimed to analyze the economic application of the Triangle Support tool for maintenance of double insulator pedestal and double strain insulator constructions on 20 kV distribution lines without grid outages. Results: The Triangle Support, configurable into three arrangements, enabled 16 types of PDKB tasks, including seven activities previously requiring outages, while generating energy savings of 191,422 kWh and additional company revenue of IDR 217,455,773 due to reduced completion time. Novelty: The research introduces a modular triangular support system integrating multiple live-line maintenance functions within a single tool supported by cost–benefit analysis. Implications: The findings indicate that adoption of Triangle Support can reduce outage frequency, improve operational continuity, and provide measurable economic benefits for power distribution maintenance services. Highlights: A Single Modular Device Accommodated Multiple Distance and Direct Contact Maintenance Tasks. Several Activities Previously Requiring Outages Were Shifted to Live-Line Procedures. Measurable Energy Savings and Additional Revenue Resulted From Shorter Job Duration. Keywords: Triangle Support, Live-Line Maintenance, 20 Kv Distribution Network, Pdkb Methods, Economic Analysis

Abstract

This study aims to design and implement an Arduino-based alginate mixer control system with Nextion Display as the user interface. This system was developed to improve the accuracy of mixing time and maintain the consistency of mixing results in the production process. The method used is a design with an experimental approach through testing several variations of stirring time and comparison with a conventional manual timer-based system. The parameters observed include time error and viscosity values of the mixing results. The test results show that the Arduino-based system has better time accuracy with smaller and more stable error values. This has an impact on more consistent viscosity results, which values obtained are in the range of 100–110 dPa·s according to process standards. In addition, the developed system also provides ease of operation and monitoring through real-time displays on the Nextion Display. Thus, this system can be a more effective alternative compared to conventional systems in the alginate mixing process.

Abstract

Today's technology is automated. In car alarm devices, to automatic parking. This very rapid development of technology makes humans create equipment that can make it easier for humans. The etching process can also be called the Printed Circuit Board screen printing process, which is the creation of a path or layout that will connect between electrical components. PCB etching machine is a tool used to dissolve metal parts that are not designed on plain PCB boards using a mixture of chemical solutions, namely ferric chloride. Manual PCB processes usually take a long time and risk being exposed to ferrit chloride solutions for users. This article discusses how to make an automatic etching machine tool with a Microcontroller module that has a camera feature to monitor the editing results on a copper board. With the time method as the key to perfect results during the checking process. For as a driver, that is using a Servo Motor. The microcontroller used in this machine is an ESP32 camera based on the Internet of things Telegram as a Data Base media. For software design using fritzing software applications. The success of the PCB etching machine in this study is seen from testing tools ranging from voltage testing, microcontroller testing, real time a clock testing and Internet of Things system testing. From many of these tests, good results were obtained.

Abstract

This study proposes a Multi Band Power System Stabilizer (MB-PSS) optimized with the Hippopotamus Optimization Algorithm (HOA) to enhance dynamic stability in the Southern Sulawesi (Sulbagsel) electricity system integrated with wind power plants (WPPs). Unlike previous works applying HOA to distribution networks or photovoltaic optimization, this study addresses a key gap: the absence of HOA based stabilizer optimization in large scale multi machine systems, particularly in Sulbagsel. The novelty lies in positioning HOA as an alternative swarm intelligence method suited to the nonlinear characteristics of MB-PSS tuning. While the claim of being the first HOA application in Sulbagsel requires stronger justification, this study extends its relevance by bridging overlaps in related domains. Damping analysis and time domain simulations are conducted to benchmark HOA against Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) and Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA). Results show that HOA achieves superior performance: overshoot in generator speed deviation decreases to 0.009923 to 0.002359 p.u., settling time reduces from 16s without stabilizer to 9.58s, and the maximum damping ratio increases to 0.7185. These outcomes confirm HOA’s capability to improve oscillation damping, though additional reporting of frequency responses and voltage stability metrics would strengthen the empirical contribution. Theoretically, this study highlights HOA’s balance between exploration and exploitation, making it suitable for multimodal cost functions in stabilizer tuning. However, broader theoretical implications, such as HOA’s advancement of stability theory beyond empirical results, remain underexplored. Future research should address this dimension to consolidate HOA’s role in advanced power system stability studies.
