Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the form and uniqueness of language politeness in classroom interaction in senior high school with a background of Java language. The method used is descriptive qualitative research method with sociopragmatic approach. Data in the form of students' speech in the learning process of Bahasa Indonesia. Technique of collecting data by using listening, feee, participating, speaking and data transcription. Data analysis techniques use interactive model in the form of data collection, data reduction, data analysis, and conclusion. The results show that there are generosity maxim, tact maxim, modesty maxim, agreement maxim, and sympathy maxim. As for the uniqueness of Javanese language in classroom interaction with marker of basa krama alus and basa ngoko.Keywords: language politeness, Java language, classroom interactionAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bentuk dan keunikan atau kekhasan kesantunan berbahasa dalam interaksi kelas di Sekolah Menengah Atas yang berlatar bahasa Jawa. Metode yang digunakan ialah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan sosiopragmatik. Data berupa tuturan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui teknik perekaman dengan metode simak bebas libat cakap (SBLC). Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif berupa pengumpulan data, reduksi data, analisis data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pematuhan maksim kedermawanan, maksim kebijaksanaan, maksim kesederhanaan, maksim kesepakatan, dan maksim kesimpatian. Adapun ditemukan kekhasan bahasa Jawa dalam interaksi kelas dengan penanda basa krama alus dan basa ngoko.Kata Kunci: kesantunan berbahasa, bahasa Jawa, interaksi kelas

Abstract

This study aims to describe the grammatical function of the Indonesian relative clauses found on the foreign students' academic degree program at Technical Manager Unit Language (UPTBahasa) University Sebelas Maret Surakarta. Data used in the form of writing, the sentences in the written essays of foreign students contained relative clauses. The techniques of data analysis use apportion method and advanced techniques of apportion method. The result of this study shows that the process of relativization that occurs in Indonesian can only relate the subject function. As the development of linguistics, the process of relativizationalso occurs in the object. Relativization on object will be accepted when it is altered through the passage process. In addition, the process of relativizationthat occurs can be through the steps, namely the obliteration strategy. The obliteration strategy serves to dissipate the nominative which relating its relative clauses. This research has concluded that the relativization process of relative clauses in Indonesian only occurs in the subject. Then, the most frequently used relativization in Indonesian is the obliteration strategy.Keywords: Indonesian for foreign speakers, grammatical functions, strategy obliteration, relative clausesFUNGSI GRAMATIKAL DALAM KLAUSA RELATIF BAHASA INDONESIA PADA KARANGAN MAHASISWA ASINGAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan tentang fungsi gramatikal klausa relatif bahasa Indonesia yang ditemukan pada karangan mahasiswa asing program darmasiswa level akademik di UPT Bahasa Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. Data yang digunakan berupa data tulis, yakni kalimat-kalimat dalam karangan mahasiswa asing yang didalamnya terdapat klausa relatif. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode agih dan teknik lanjutan dari metode agih. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses perelatifan yang terjadi dalam bahasa Indonesia hanya dapat merelatifkan fungsi subjek. Seiring perkembangan ilmu kebahasaan, proses perelatifan terjadi juga pada objek. Perelatifan pada objek akan berterima apabila diubah melalui proses pemasifan. Selain itu, proses perelatifan yang terjadi dapat melalui langkah-langkah, yakni strategi obliteration. Strategi obliteration berfungsi untuk melesapkan nomina yang direlatifkan dalam klausa relatifnya. Penelitian ini memeroleh simpulan bahwa proses perelatifan klausa relatif dalam bahasa Indonesia hanya terjadi pada subjek. Kemudian, strategi perelatifan dalam bahasa Indonesia yang sering digunakan adalah strategi obliteration. Kata Kunci: bahasa Indonesia bagi penutur asing, fungsi gramatikal, strategi obliteration, klausa relatif

Abstract

One of the obstacles on the fairy tale of learning in secondary schools is there is not enough learning tool as an innovation. The example is found only one or two kind of teaching materials that use for learning, and only about 25% of the fairy tale text has from the local stories in each material. Student need more material than that to help them finish the study easily. The methods of research is exploratory mixed design. It's because the first sequent of this research is gathering qualitative data exploration for development, and collecting qualitative data to explain relationship found in the quantitative data (experimental result). An epic story is an object of the local stories chosen. All developed a tools consisting of a teacher guide, student books, and audiovisual. The result of this research is an increased literacy in students and the effectiveness of learning tools of the fairy tale for secondary school students. The conclusions is the study that the local story adapted as a learning tools innovation is effective to facilitate student learning and improve literacy skills better than regular tools. Abstract

Language is a tool used by humans in communicating. The theory of language develops and becomes the talk of experts. Pragmatics, as a linguistic discipline, has clear differences from other linguistic disciplines, both in terms of terminology and research focus. Pragmatics focuses on the goals that speakers want to achieve through their communication. Pragmatics has another derivative, one of which exists. The research entitled “Analysis of Diexis in Writing Opinion Columns on the Mojok.co Site aims to analyze the use of diexist in the form of persona diexist, place or space diexist, time diexist and discourse diexist. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The data collection technique used in this study was reading and taking notes. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there is the use of persona diexis, place or space diexis, time diexis and discourse diexis in writing uploaded in the Opinion Column of Mojok.co

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan berbagai nilai dan wujud budaya yang direpresentasikan dalam novel Love in Lumajang. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan antropologi sastra yaitu pendekatan interdisipliner yang secara khusus mengkaji berbagai aspek kebudayaan manusia yang tercermin melalui karya sastra. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Love in Lumajang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Untuk menganalisis data digunakan teknik analisis konten, yang terdiri dari 3 prosedur berupa reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan wujud dan unsur kebudayaan yang terkandung dalam novel Love in Lumajang. Wujud budaya tersebut mencakup (1) ideas, (2) activities, (3) artifact. Sedangkan unsur yang terkandung meliputi (1) bahasa, (2) sistem pengetahuan, (3) sistem kemasyarakatan dan organisasi sosial, (4) sistem peralatan hidup dan teknologi, (5) sistem ekonomi dan mata pencaharian, (sistem religi).

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the challenges faced by Thai international students when they first came to Indonesia to study Indonesian as a foreign language. There were nine Thai students studying in six different cities in Indonesia were recruited as participants. The thematic analysis revealed two major themes: academic challenges and technological issues. Both made it difficult for Thai students to master the Indonesian language effectively. The condition potentially hinders their academic success when studying in Indonesia. However, the researchers found that despite the language barrier, Thai students still tried to speak Indonesian with Indonesian students and residents. It indicates that Thai students in this study were highly determined, friendly, and open to new cultures. Furthermore, the researchers advise teachers and program organizers to pay attention to these challenges to maximize the learning output.

Abstract

This study uses a descriptive qualitative method to classify and analyze the use of speech act functions in the International Women’s Day 2020 demonstration event in Jakarta. The research strategy used is content/document analysis. This strategy was used because the study would analyze data in sentences in the International Women’s Day 2020 demonstration poster. Data collection was carried out using the document and note-taking. In addition, the data analysis process uses content/document analysis. This analysis will dissect a speech/sentence in the research data to explain or analyze it in depth. The study results show that the action participants use the speech act function in various ways. The speech act functions are 11 data assertive functions, 17 data directive functions, 5 data expressive functions, and 12 declarative data functions. The directive function dominates the use of the speech act function. This is because, in demonstration activities, the speaker will make more requests (directives) in the form of demands on the interlocutor to solve all the problems presented by the speaker (demonstrator).
