Abstract

ABSTRAK  Fungsi konveks adalah fungsi yang dapat ditandai oleh epigraph yang konveks tetapi fungsi konveks tidak dapat ditandai oleh himpunan level bawah yang konveks. Fungsi kuasikonveks merupakan generalisasi dari fungsi konveks yang dapat ditandai oleh himpunan level bawah yang konveks. Kajian ini menghadirkan sifat-sifat fungsi konveks yang memiliki kemiripan dengan sifat-sifat fungsi kuasikonveks dan mengkaji sifat-sifat fungsi konveks yang tidak memiliki kemiripan dengan sifat-sifat fungsi kuasikonveks. Dengan kata lain, sifat-sifat tersebut berlaku untuk fungsi konveks tetapi tidak berlaku untuk fungsi kuasikonveks.Kata kunci: fungsi konveks, epigraph, himpunan level bawah, fungsi kuasikonveks, sifat dengan kemiripan, sifat tanpa kemiripan ABSTRACT  Convex function is a function that can be characterized by convexity of its epigraph but can not be characterized by convexity of its lower level set. Quasiconvex function is a generalization of convex functions which can be characterized by convexity of its lower level set. This study presents the properties of convex functions with analogue for quasiconvex functions and observes the properties of convex functions with no analogue for quasiconvex functions. In other words, these properties valid for convex functions but does not valid for quasiconvex functions.Keyword: convex function, epigraph, lower level set, quasiconvex function, analogue properties, no analogue properties

Abstract

The gap between the concept image and the concept definition will greatly affect a person’s understanding of the concept. This study aims to reveal the gap between the concept image and the concept definition, and the causes of the emergence of the gap. The research subjects were 16 first-year mathematics students at one of the universities in Aceh, Indonesia. Data were obtained from the results of written tests and in-depth interviews. This qualitative research with a phenomenological study approach was analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the gap that occurs in the concept includes: the division of a non-zero number by zero yields infinity, the concept of dividing zero by zero is zero, the concept of dividing a number by zero is the same as the concept of the limit, e.g., , and the concept of the left-hand limit as  means that the satisfied value of x is all negative numbers such that . The emergence of these concept images results from the subject's learning experience at school and a calculus course. This finding provides insights and considerations for educators to comprehensively introduce students to the concept of infinity to avoid misunderstandings in limit and next materials.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan resiliensi matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan Modified Eliciting Activities. Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Jakarta Pusat kelas VIII. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Instrumen penelitian sebanyak 5 butir soal kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan 25 pernyataan resiliensi matematis. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah 1) Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan Modified Eliciting Activities lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan pembelajaran konvensional. 2) Pencapaian resiliensi matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan Modified Eliciting Activities lebih tinggi secara keseluruhan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau secara keseluruhan.  Abstract:  The aim of this research is to get a picture about the enhancement of critical thinking and mathematical resilience students after learning using Modified Eliciting Activities. This research conducted in the private junior high school in Jakarta class VIII. The method of this research is a  quasi-experiment. The material used in this research was build a flat side room. The research instrument consisted of 5 critical thinking skill problems, and 25 statements of mathematical resilience. Abstract

Algebraic reasoning is one of mathematics ability that becomes goal of mathematics learning and to gain that goal, teachers need to cope the hindrance such as math anxiety. The objective of study is to analyze the attainment and escalation of algebraic reasoning in students who studied through 7E Learning Cycle and Concept Attainment, based on learning model and prior mathematical ability, in term of overall and in each class, along with math anxiety of students. The method is quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test-two-treatment designs. The samples were seventh grade junior high school students in Bandung that were consist of two classes with 40 students in 7E Learning Cycle class and 38 students in Concept Attainment class. Research’s result shows that there no significance difference of the attainment and escalation of algebraic reasoning in two experiment class based on learning model and category of early mathematical ability. But there is significance difference of the escalation of algebraic reasoning based on category of early mathematical ability in each experiment class. Besides, there is found that students have math anxiety when facing mathematics’ evaluation and tasks; and when math is involved to their future.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif merupakan hal yang penting dalam belajar matematika, namun upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif di Indonesia belum berjalan dengan baik. Karena itu peneliti ingin mengkaji dimana letak permasalahan siswa dalam menghadapi soal-soal berpikir kritis dan kreatif matematis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan disain Basic qualitativa research approach. Kegiatannya adalah mengkaji jawaban siswa hasil mengerjakan soal berpikir kritis dan kreatif matematis siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan di dua SMP di kabupaten Cianjur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permasalahan yang menyebabkan siswa lemah dalam menghadapi soal-soal berpikir kritis dan kreatif matematik adalah banyak siswa masih tidak dapat memahami masalah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) yang dimodifikasi. Adapun desain penelitian ini yaitu Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X sebuah sekolah menengah atas negeri yang terdaftar pada tahun ajaran 2018-2019. Penentuan sampelnya digunakan cara simple random sampling. Kelas eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model POGIL yang dimodifikasi, sedangkan kelas kontrol memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan model POGIL yang dimodifikasi lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik.

Abstract

Creative ability is important for facing competition in a world that more advanced because creativity is capital to face the challenges. In addition it required communication skills to convey the creativity that will give rise to confidence with capabilities. This research aims to know the ability of creativity, communication and self confidence of the students use active-reflective learning methods. This active-reflective learning methods belonged in a good criteria. The instruments used are the creative ability test, a test of the ability of communication and the sheets of measure students affective. The results showed that students have a creative and communication capability good enough with the ability to self confidence which is also good.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to investigate the flipped classroom model. Students experienced difficulties in learning mathematics. Thus, learning innovation is needed to help them maximize their learning and practice in solving maths problems. The learning model dicussed in this research was the flipped classroom learning model. This model is the reversed learning model and considered suitable for mathematics learning.

Abstract

Mata kuliah Microteaching merupakan salah satu matakuliah yang wajib ditempuh oleh mahasiswa pada program studi pendidikan matematika UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Mata kuliah ini bertujuan untuk melatih mahasiswa dalam membuat rencana pembelajaran dan sekaligus mengimplementasikannya di dalam kelas.  Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tahun ajaran 2020/2021 dimana kegiatan pembelajaran masih terkena dampak pandemi covid 19. Oleh karena itu, dalam merencanakan pembelajaran mahasiswa harus memiliki keterampilan dalam mengoperasikan teknologi sebagai media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan tentang kemampuan Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) mahasiswa calon guru matematika dalam merancang Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dan simulasi pembelajaran matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi eksplorasi deskriptif.  Sampel yang digunakan adalah mahasiswa semester tujuh sebanyak 17 orang. Terdiri dari  1 orang laki-laki dan 16 orang perempuan .  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga indikator dari TPACK yaitu :  1) Pedagogical Knowledge , 2) Content Knowledge mahasiswa  dan 3) Technologocal Knowledge mahasiswa cukup baik. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa prodi pendidikan matematika sudah memiliki kemampuan TPACK pada kategori cukup baik dalam hal penyusunan rencana pembelajaran dan pelaksananaan pembelajaran  yang mengintegrasikan antara teori pembelajaran/strategi pembelajaran, materi dan teknologi.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the digital literacy of prospective mathematics teachers who are conducting web-based learning in the new normal era. This research is classified as a qualitative descriptive research, data collected through surveys and interviews. The research subjects were 4th semester students of the mathematics education study program. Subjects were taken using purposive sampling technique for filling out the questionnaire and then 5 students were randomly selected to be interviewed. The results showed that the digital literacy of prospective mathematics teachers in web-based learning in the new normal era was quite good, this was evidenced by the results of student questionnaires which showed positive categories on each indicator. In addition, the cumulative percentage of students on the indicator of basic ability to use the internet (81.08%), on the indicator of the ability to seek and obtain information (75.32%), on the indicator of skills in choosing frequently used information sources (59.49%) and cumulative percentage of ability to use information effectively (81.87%). This is reinforced by the results of interviews with students which showed that the five students were able to achieve these four indicators.
