Abstract

Matematika memiliki karakteristik abstrak, sehingga siswa menganggap bahwa matematika merupakan pelajaran yang sulit, dan kurang diminati serta siswa merasa bosan dalam mempelajari matematika dikarenakan hanya mendapatkan pembelajaran matematika dengan metode konvensional. Oleh sebab itu, perlu adanya jembatan dalam proses pembelajaran matematika yaitu dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran.giatan P2M ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran Timbangan PLSV, sehingga pembelajaran lebih menyenangkan dan mudah dipahami oleh siswa MTs Kelas 7. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan angket ketertarikan siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika. Instrumen penelituan yang digunakan berupa angket Skala Likert. Data yang diperoleh lalu dianalis menggunakan perhitungan persentase dengan hasil secara keseluruhan 52%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa merasa tertarik dengan pembelajaran matematika melalui media pembelajaran Timbangan PLSV, sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber belajar pada siswa MTs kelas 7 di Pesantren Bustanul Arifin Cililin.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran adaptif dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa, khususnya kesulitan belajar siswa dalam memahami materi bilangan. Subyek penelitian adalah 6 siswa kelas VII. Metode penelitian ini deskriptif kualitatif dengan menganalisis kesulitan siswa dari instrumen yang diberikan. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa tes tertulis kemampuan penalaran adaptif dan pemecahan masalah matematis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran adaptif dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa rendah.

Abstract

Hasil belajar siswa pada materi menentukan nilai tempat Kelas II SDN 116 Rantekasimpo Kabupaten Tana TorajaTahun Pelajaran 2019/2020 masih rendah. Hal ini terjadi karena siswa tidak memperhatikan gurunya, kurangnya pemahaman siswa tentang materi yang diajarkan guru dan siswa jarang bertanya meskipun belum paham materi. Oleh karena itu perlu upaya untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Salah satunya adalah merepresentasikan media kantong prestasi. Rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah “apakah representasi kantong prestasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika materi tempat bilangan bagi siswa kelas II SDN 116 Rantekasimpo? Tujuan khusus penelitian ini untuk meningkat hasil belajar dengan representasi media kantong prestasi pada siswa kelas II SDN 116 Rantekasimpo Kabupaten Tana Toraja. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Data penelitian adalah data aktivitasi guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran Matematika. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif . subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas II SDN 116 Rantekasimpo Kabupaten Tana Toraja dengan jumlah 30 orang yang terdiri dari 18 siswa perempuan dan 12 siswa laki-laki. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya dimana pada siklus I adalah 66,67% dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 86,67%.

Abstract

Sejak pandemi pembelajaran dilaksanakan dalam jaringan, masing-masing siswa dan guru belajar dalam waktu yang sama dan tempat yang berbeda jika tatap muka online dan belajar pada tempat dan waktu yang berbeda jika pemberian tugas. Begitu dalam pembelajaran matematika yang selama ini setiap guru mengajar harus menggunakan papan tulis sehingga sedikit kesulitan jikan melaksankan pembelajaran dalam jaringan. Namun teknologi sangat cepat memberikan solusi, tidak hanya fitur papan tulis digital yang ada tetapi berbagai aplikasi pembelajaran matematika juga telah ada, seperti software photomath dan matematica. Siswa dilatih menggunakan software photomath dan matematica kemudian meminta siswa membuat kesimpulan hasil belajarnya. Metode penelitian mengunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptip untuk menggambarkan fenomena sesuai kenyataan dari dilapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan problem solving siswa meningkat berdasarkan bentuk kesimpulan yang diberikan. Mahasiswa calon guru sekolah dasar semakin temotivasi untuk belajar matematika dengan memanfaatkan software photomath dan mathematica. Software photomath dan mathematica juga dapat saling melengkapi untuk mempermudah belajar dan pemahaman siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning obstacles faced by students in the operation of integers. The research method used is a qualitative method with a case study design. The data was taken from 16 students in grade 7, a junior high school in Batang Hari, Jambi. The data collection technique used was triangulation data. There are written tests, interviews with both students and the teacher, and document analysis. The data collection instrument used was a test of integer operations, interview guidelines, and documents (lesson plan and textbook). The results of the research showed that there are learning obstacles in the operations of integers, namely, ontogenic obstacles (difference in knowledge between natural number operations and integer operations), epistemological obstacles (limited understanding), and didactical obstacles (obstacles that come from the didactic system). Other researchers can create lesson plans based on the obstacles found in this research.

Abstract

Students' mathematical identities must be appropriately identified to obtain information on the causes of difficulties and decreased student motivation in learning mathematics so that this becomes a teacher's reference in preparing learning scenarios that can form strong and enduring mathematical characters in students. This bibliometric study aims to assess the global research trends in the field of mathematical identity by analyzing publication output, co-authorship among authors and their country affiliations, and the co-occurrence of author keywords. Using the Scopus database, a total of 53 journal articles published between 2007 and 2023 were collected. The findings indicate a consistent growth in the number of publications since 2018, with an increment of 5 articles every two years. Consequently, the cumulative total of articles has steadily increased. The United States stands out as the leading contributor, accounting for approximately 60% of the global publications, surpassing ten other countries/territories. Moreover, among the most productive universities in the top 5 countries, four of them are ranked in the top 1000 universities in the world. In conclusion, recent advancements in research on mathematical identity encompass various aspects such as mathematics achievement, race, equity, learners' mathematical identity, and black students.

Abstract

Computational thinking is a person's ability to present problems and their solutions through certain algorithms so that the algorithms can be reused by other people and computers to solve the same problems. This study aims to comprehensively examine students' computational thinking skill reviewed from different self-efficacy levels. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study were 3 seventh grade students of Bumi Cendekia Junior High School in the 2022/2023 school year who were selected based on low, medium, and high self-efficacy levels. The instruments used were test, questionnaire, and interview. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative data analysis which included data reduction, data presentation, verification, and conclusion.  The results showed that students with low self-efficacy level were only able to fulfill 2 indicators of computational thinking ability, students with moderate self-efficacy level fulfilled 3 indicators of computational thinking ability. Meanwhile, students with high self-efficacy level have excellent computational thinking ability by being able to fulfill 4 indicators of computational thinking ability.

Abstract

Higher-Order Thinking is a skill to be achieved to face the 21st century. Some previous research shows HOTS-oriented learning can improve students' higher-order thinking skills. This research aims to analyze the plan and implementation of HOTS-oriented learning by mathematics teachers. This research is a phenomenological research with a qualitative approach with the subject of 20 mathematics teachers in junior high schools who have attended the training. The teachers designed the lesson plan, implemented it in their school and then the FGDs are conducted to find out the experiences of each teacher. Research shows that mathematics teachers have tried to do HOTS-oriented learning, but still have many obstacles and difficulties in its implementation. Thus, HOTS learning must be done continuously to make students accustomed to doing HOTS-oriented learning activities.

Abstract

A high quality of lesson planning is the key to achieving effective learning. One of the characteristics of effective learning is that it minimizes learning obstacles. This study aims to explore an Indonesian prospective mathematics teacher’s lesson planning and identify its learning obstacles. Data was analyzed from the lesson plan document of prospective mathematics teacher students carrying out teaching practices at one of the high schools in Jakarta. Analysis was done using the praxeological-didactical (PDA) method. PDA offers space to analyze human actions, such as lesson plans. Four types of tasks are presented in the lesson plan on drawing graphs of quadratic functions.  The predicted learning obstacles identified from the lesson plan are (1) epistemological obstacles, caused by the limitations of certain contexts; (2) ontogenic obstacles, caused by the presentation of tasks due to inappropriate prerequisites; and (3) didactic obstacles, caused by tasks that are not relevant to the next task.  The implication is that the results of the study can be used to improve a quality lesson plan, and the use of a PDA can be a consideration for prospective mathematics teachers when designing a quality lesson plan.
