Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan suatu desain pembelajaran berbasis Hypotetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) pada materi operasi bilangan yang dapat membuat siswa kelas VII memahami materi operasi bilangan bulat dan menyelesaikan masalah yang berkaitan dengan operasi bilangan bulat.Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Design Research.Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII.Pada penelitian ini, peneliti membuat HLT sebagai dugaan awal dari aktivitas pembelajaran yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus uji coba hingga didapatkan desain pembelajaran yang diharapkan.Hasil analisis retrospektif menunjukkan desain pembelajaran yang disusun memberikan perubahan positif terhadap siswa kelas VII dalam memahami konsep operasi bilangan bulat.Dari hasil kerja beberapa kelompok diperoleh bahwa sebagian besar siswa telah mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yaitu memahami bilangan bulat, menentukan hasil penjumlahan bilangan bulat, menentukan hasil pengurangan bilangan bulat serta menyelesaikan masalah sehari-hari berkaitan dengan operasi bilangan bulat. Hasil kerja tersebut disertai dengan dugaan-dugan yang terjadi maupun tidak terjadi dalam proses pembelajaran pada (HLT).Kata Kunci:Design Research, Dugaan Lintasan Belajar, Operasi Bilangan Bulat.This research aims to produce a design-based Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) learning in the integer’s operations materials that can make class VII students understand the integer’s operations materials and resolve issues related to integer’s operations. The type of research used is Design Research. The subject of this study was a grade VII junior high students. In this research, researchers made HLT the earliest suspect of the learning activity carried out in two test cycles until the expected learning design was obtained. The results of a retrospective analysis showed that the design of learning was compiled to provide positive changes to class VII junior high students in understanding the concept of integer’s operations. From the work of several groups, the majority of students have achieved the learning objectives, namely understanding integers, determining the sum of integers, determining the reduction of integers and solve daily problems relating to integer’s operations. The work of students are accompanied by conjectures that occur or do not occur in the learning process that has been compiled in HLT.Keywords:Design Research, Hypothetical Learning Trajectory, Integer’s Operation

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif bertujuan mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika berdasarkan tingkat kecerdasan logis matematis pada materi barisan dan deret. Subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 32 siswa kelas XI. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari ketiga tingkatan kecerdasan logis matematis, subjek penelitian memiliki kesamaan, dimulai pada tahap memahami masalah subjek mengungkapkan maksud soal dengan bahasa dan kalimat sendiri. Kemudian dalam menyusun rencana pemecahan masalah subjek membuat model matematika. Pada tahap melaksanakan rencana, subjek menentukan nilai-nilai variabel yang dibutuhkan untuk menemukan solusi dari masalah, dan di akhir proses pemecahan masalah subjek memeriksa kembali langkah-langkah yang digunakan dan hasil yang diperoleh. Selain itu, dari ketiga tingkatan kecerdasan logis matematis subjek penelitian memiliki perbedaan, yaitu pada tahap memahami masalah dimana informasi yang diungkapkan subjek KLMT lebih lengkap daripada subjek KLMS dan KLMR. Sementara itu, pada tahap melaksanakan rencana dalam menggunakan prosedur pemecahan masalah subjek KLMT lebih jelas dan tepat. Sedangkan, subjek KLMS dapat menyelesaikan rencana penyelesaiannya yang jawaban akhirnya benar, meskipun prosedur yang digunakan kurang tepat. Kemudian, subjek KLMR menghadapi kendala dalam menyelesaikan masalah karena prosedur yang digunakan tidak jelas. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan, Pemecahan masalah matematika, Langkah Polya, Kecerdasan logis matematis, Barisan dan deret. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach that aimed to describe students' mathematical problem solving ability in terms the level of mathematical logical intelligence on sequence and series topic. The subjects in this research were 32 students of class XI MIA. The data collection techniques used in this research were the method of test and interview. The results of the research showed that of the three levels of mathematical logical intelligence, research subjects have similarities, starting at the step of understanding the problem subjects expressed the purpose of the problem with their own language and sentence. Then in devising a problem solving plan subjects make a mathematical model. At the step of carrying out the plan, the subjects determine the variable values needed to find a solution to the problem, and at the end of the problem solving process, subjects looking back the steps used and the results obtained. Meanwhile, from the three levels of mathematical logical intelligence, research subjects have differences, that are at the step of understanding the problem where the information revealed by the subject of KLMT is more complete than the subject of KLMS and KLMR. Meanwhile, at the step of carrying out the plan the subject of KLMT in using problem solving procedure more clear and precise. While, the subject of KLMS was able to complete the completion plan whose answer was finally correct, although the procedure used was incorrect. Then, the subject of KLMR faced an obstacle in solving problems because the procedure used was unclear. Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bersifat kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa dengan memperhatikan gaya kognitif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 2 orang siswa SMP dari kelas IX. Instrumen dari penelitian ini berupa tes GEFT(Group Embedded Figure Test) dan tes kemampuan koneksi matematis. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah berdasarkan dua indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis yang diteliti. (1) Keterkaitan antar konsep matematika. (2) Keterkaitan matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa sesuai dengan gaya kognitif yang dimilikinya pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel yaitu pada indikator pertama, subjek dengan gaya kognitif field independent memiliki kemampuan koneksi matematis tinggi sedangkan subjek dengna gaya kognitif field dependent memiliki kemampuan koneksi matematis sedang. Pada indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis yang kedua, subjek dengan gaya kognitif field independent dan subjek dengan gaya kognitif field dependent memiliki kemampuan koneksi matematis tinggi.Kata kunci: gaya kognitif, kemampuan koneksi matematisAbstract. This research was qualitative descriptive research that aims to describe the ability of students’ mathematical connection toward cognitive style. Subject as much 2 students SMP of grade IX. Instruments of this research were GEFT (Group Embedded Figure Test) test and mathematical connection ability test. The results of this study indicate ISWA’s ability to solve problems by two capability indicators connection mathematically studied. (1) Linkages between concept mathematics. (2) Linkages mathematics with daily life situation. The results of data analysis show that ability connection mathematical students corresponding with style the cognitive they possess on the material system two linear equations variable namely on the indicator first , the subject with style cognitive field independent have high level of mathematical connection ability while subject with style cognitive field dependent have medium level of mathematical connection ability. On the second indicator of mathematical connection ability, the subject with style cognitive field independent and subject with style cognitive field dependent have high level of mathematical connection ability.Keywords: cognitive style , mathematical connection abilities

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab terjadinya miskonsepsi siswa pada materi pecahan bentuk aljabar kelas 9 ditinjau dari prinsip-prinsip teori belajar konstruktivisme.Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 5 siswa kelas 9 yang mengalami miskonsepsi terbanyak dengan nilai terendah. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes diagnostik miskonsepsi siswa yang terdiri dari beberapa butir soal uraian disertai dengan skor tingkat kepercayaan (CRI) dan pedoman wawancara. Prinsip-prinsip teori belajar konstruktivisme yang dimaksud dalam penelitian ini adalah lingkungan belajar, pengetahuan awal siswa, kemampuan siswa, keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran dan pengalaman belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadinya miskonsepsi disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor baik dari segi internal maupun eksternal ditinjau dari prinsip-prinsip teori konstruktivisme.Kata Kunci:Miskonsepsi, Konstruktivisme, CRI, Pecahan, AljabarThis study aims to determine the factors that cause student misconceptions  form 9th grade on algebraic form  fraction in terms of the principles of constructivism learning theory. This type of research is qualitative research using a descriptive approach. The subjects in this study were 5 grade 9 students who experienced the most misconceptions with the lowest scores. The instrument used in this study was a student misconception diagnostic test consisting of several descriptive items accompanied by Certainty of Response Index (CRI) and an interview guide. The principles of constructivism learning theory referred to in this study are the learning environment, students' initial knowledge, student abilities, student activeness in learning and student learning experiences. The results showed that the misconception was caused by several factors, both internal and external, in terms of the principles of constructivism theory.Keywords:Misconception, Constructivism, CRI, Algebraic, Fractions

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kemampuan komunikasi matematis berdasarkan disposisi matematis pada materi persamaan garis lurus. Subjek penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas VIII  yang mewakili setiap kategori disposisi matematis yaitu tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian angket, tes, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh siswa pada setiap kategori disposisi mampu menuliskan solusi secara sistematis dan mampu menggunakan simbol matematika dengan tepat. Namun, siswa DMR kurang mampu memahami masalah sehingga terdapat kekeliruan penyelesaian. Perbedaan kemampuan siswa terlihat dari kemampuan menggambarkan grafik. Siswa DMT menggambarkan grafik dengan tepat. Sedangkan, siswa DMS menggambarkan grafik yang kurang tepat. Adapun, siswa DMR tidak mampu menggambarkan grafik solusi dari soal.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan, Komunikasi Matematis, Disposisi Matematis, Persaman Garis LurusThis research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach, aiming to identify mathematical communication skills based on mathematical disposition in straight-line equation matter. The subject of this research are students of class VIII who represent each category of mathematical disposition that is high, medium, and low. Data collection techniques are done by giving questioner, tests, and interviews. The results showed that all students in each disposition category were able to write solutions systematically and were able to use mathematical symbols appropriately. However, DMR students are less able to understand the problem so there is a mistake in solving it. The difference in students' abilities can be seen from the ability to graph. DMT students draw graphs precisely. Meanwhile, DMS students draw inappropriate graphs. As for the subject, DMR students are not able to draw a solution graph of the problem.Keywords: Ability, Mathematical Communication, Mathematical Disposition, Straight Line Equation

Abstract

Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis visual basic dan mendeskripsikan kualitas media berdasarkan aspek kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi 5 tahapan yaitu analysis, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar penilaian media oleh pakar materi, pakar media dan guru untuk mengukur kevalidan; angket respons terhadap media dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran untuk mengukur kepraktisan; serta tes hasil belajar untuk mengukur keefektifan media. Responden uji coba produk adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP dengan jumlah siswa 6 orang.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penilaian oleh pakar materi, pakar media, dan guru diperoleh kriteria sangat baik sehingga media yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid. Hasil analisis data angket respons gurudan respons siswa terhadap media dikategorikan sangat baik. Hasil observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran juga menunjukkan klasifikasi sangat baik sehingga media dinyatakan praktis. Persentase ketuntasan klasikal dari tes hasil belajar siswa mencapai 83,3% sehingga media dinyatakan efektif.Kata Kunci:pengembangan, media pembelajaran matematika berbasis visual basic, ADDIE.The purposes of this research are to develop mathematical learning media based on visual basics and describe the quality of the media based on aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This type of research is development research with the ADDIE model which includes 5 stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments used in this research are the form of media assessment sheets by material experts, media experts, and teachers to measure validity; response questionnaires for the media and observation sheets for the learning implementation to measure practicality; and learning outcomes tests to measure the effectiveness of the media. Respondents for the product trial are students of class VIII SMP which consists of 6 students. The results showed that the assessment by material experts, media experts, and teacher obtained very good criteria so that the media was declared valid. The results of the response questionnaire analysis of teacher and students to the media obtained very good criteria. The results of observations of the implementation of learning showed a very good classification. The percentage of classical completeness from student learning outcomes tests reached 83,3% so the media was declared effective.Keywords:development, mathematical learning media based on visual basic, ADDIE.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui deskripsi kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengambilan subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII MIPA. Pengambilan subjek dilakukan dengan memberikan tes kemampuan awal kepada siswa yang kemudian dari hasil tersebut dipilih 4 subjek penelitian berdasarkan kategori yang ada. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah, tes tertulis kemampuan komunikasi matematis pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan komunikasi tertulis subjek penelitian baik pada indikator kemampuan dalam menuliskan informasi yang terdapat dalam soal dan menentukan tujuan utama yang akan dicapai. Akan tetapi subjek penelitian lemah dalam kemampuan meuliskan operasi matematika sesuai dengan maksud soal, menggunakan gambar ataupun notasi ilmiah dalam menyelesaikan masalah, menyajikan representasi menyeluruh terhadap konsep yang digunakan serta menuliskan kesimpulan jawaban kedalam bahasa sehari-hari. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menambah wawasan tentang kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMA baik secara lisan ataupun tulisan pada materi khususnya dalam mengerjakan soal kontekstual sehingga dalam proses pembelajaran siswa mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi dalam bahasa matematika. Kata Kunci: Komunikasi matematis, masalah kontekstual This study aims to determine the description of the mathematical communication ability of students in solving a contextual problem . This type of research is descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The subject of this research are students of class XII. Retrieval of the subject is performed by providing a test of the initial ability on to students then from the results of the test selected 4 subjects based on existing categories. The instrument used are written mathematical communication ability test and interview guidelines. The results showed the ability of written communication of research subject are writing information contained in the questions and define the main objectives to be achieved. But the subject are weak in the ability meuliskan mathematical operations in accordance with the purpose of questions, use of pictures or scientific notation in solving a problem, presenting a representation of the entire to the concept that is used and write a conclusion answer into daily language. The results of this study are expected to add insight about the mathematical communication ability, especially in working on contextual so that in the process of learning students are able to improve the ability to communicate in the language of mathematics. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penalaran siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematika pada pokok bahasan barisan dan deret yang ditinjau dari kemampuan awal. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, maka, dipilih subjek penelitian sebanyak 2 siswa kelas XI MIPA salah satu SMA di Makassar. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes dan wawancara kemudian melalui tiga tahapan analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa proses penalaran siswa yang berkemampuan tinggi yaitu mengaitkan konsep dan pengetahuan yang dimilikinya, mengumpulkan bukti dengan menyebutkan hal-hal yang diketahui dan ditanyakan, mengaitkan rumus yang sudah dimiliki dengan masalah yang dihadapi, mengidentifikasi konsep yang digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah, mengungkapkan alasan dalam menjelaskan langkah-langkah dalam melaksanakan pemecahan masalah. Dan menarik kesimpulan menjelaskan konsep yang digunakan dari soal. Sedangkan proses penalaran siswa berkemapuan rendah yaitu menyebutkan hal-hal yang diketahui dan ditanyakan serta siswa tidak dapat membuat kesimpulan apapun setelah menyelesaikan soal. Hal ini disebabkan karena belum memahami soal sepenuhnya, siswa tidak terbiasa mengoreksi kembali jawaban yang diperoleh, dan siswa tidak terbiasa menuliskan kesimpulan akhirKata kunci: penalaran, pemecahan masalah, barisan dan deret, kemampuan awal Abstract. This study aims to describe students' reasoning in mathematical problem solving on the topic sequences and series viewed by prior knowledge. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. By using purposive sampling technique, then, the research subjects were selected as many as 2 students of class XI MIPA, one of the high schools in Makassar. The data collection technique uses test methods and interviews then through three stages of data analysis, namely data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion. The results showed that the reasoning process of high-ability students was to associate the concepts and knowledge they had, gather evidence by mentioning things that were known and asked, linking the formulas that were already owned with the problems faced, identifying concepts used to solve problems, revealing reasons in explaining the steps in carrying out problem solving. And drawing conclusions explains the concepts used from the problem. While the reasoning process of low-ability students is to mention things that are known and asked and students cannot make any conclusions after solving the problem. This is because students have not fully understood the problem, students are not used to correcting the answers obtained, and students are not used to writing final conclusionsKeywords: reasoning, problem solving, sequence and sequence, prior knowledge

Abstract

This study is qualitative research that aimed to get the analysis result of the mathematical connection ability of undergraduates with low, moderate, and high initial ability at vector spaces topic. The research subjects are three undergraduate students in the fourth semester in the mathematics department, one for each initial ability category. The research data was obtained by mathematical connection ability tests and in-depth interviews. These data were analyzed based on two mathematical connection ability indicator, that is (1) connect mathematical ideas, in forms of fact, concept, principle, and skill at the same topic, and (2) connect mathematical ideas, in forms of fact, concept, principle, and skill at two different topics. The first indicator is described by how subjects connect algebraic and geometric representations of a spanning set of vector space. Meanwhile, the second indicator is described by how subjects connect a fact about trace with set membership concept. The results of the study reveal that the subject with low and moderate initial ability did not know some mathematics basic knowledge, such as vector addition in cartesian coordinates and trace of matrix. That is why the subject cannot connect mathematical ideas. Subject with high initial ability understands algebraic representation of a mathematical concept, but not that good at understanding geometric representation. The subject has good knowledge about mathematical terms, such as the trace of a matrix, and can use it to explain a mathematical concept.Keywords: Initial Ability, Mathematical Connection, Connection Problem, Mathematics Learning Object, Vector Space.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the environmental media assisted problem based learning model on concept understanding, reasoning ability and science problem solving in Class V at SDN 102 Makale 5. This research is a quantitative research with a pre-experimental research design model of one group pretest posttest design. The population in this study were all fifth grade students at SDN 102 Makale 5, totaling 99 students divided into 4 classes heterogeneously. The sample for this study was taken from four classes in the population randomly and 25 VA classes were selected as the experimental class. Data collection techniques are through tests and documentation of the process of learning activities. Based on data analysis through the pretest-post test data normality ability to understand concepts, reasoning abilities, problem solving abilities of Class V at SDN 102 Makale 5 students can be said to be normally distributed. Based on the one sample test hypothesis test on the ability to understand concepts, reasoning skills, problem solving abilities of Class V at SDN 102 Makale 5 students can be said to meet expectations, namely meeting the minimum criteria of mastery score even more than the minimum criteria of mastery learning score. Based on data analysis through the N-Gain test, it can be said that there is an increase in student learning outcomes classically in science subjects. So it can be concluded that the learning model of problem based learning assisted by media environment has an effect on increasing the ability to understand concepts, reasoning abilities, and solving science problems in Class V at SDN 102 Makale 5.
