Abstract

PT XYZ is a manufacturing company that produces and sells wire harnesses for automotive vehicles and related components. There are various types of raw materials in wire harness assembly. Therefore, raw material control planning is important to avoid stock outs and waste of costs. This quantitative descriptive research aims to determine the minimum and maximum inventory limits so that stock outs do not occur, as well as determine the optimum number of orders and the amount of costs that can be saved so that there is no waste of costs. The data analysis techniques used are first, min-max analysis by calculating the minimum and maximum inventory, safety stock and reorder point. Second, EOQ analysis by knowing the annual demand or need for raw materials, the amount of ordering costs and storage costs. The results of the calculation with min-max obtained minimum stock limits (reorder point) terminal A, terminal B and wire A respectively 913 m, 702 m and 1,104 m, maximum limits 1,826 m, 1,405 m and 2,208 m. Based on EOQ calculations, the optimum values are 4,055 m, 2,287 m and 3,911 m. These results can help save costs for each material by 41%, 2% and 6%.

Abstract

Introduction: Local businesses and lawmakers in emerging economies are under tremendous pressure to compete with foreign entities and comprehend consumer behavior in the setting of increasing internationalization and the growing significance of e-commerce. Main Objectives: By adding to the theory of planned behavior and consumer ethnocentrism, this study aims to find the factors that affect people's intentions to buy local products in the context of e-commerce, fashion, youth, and Indonesia. Methods: Nonprobability snowball online sampling on social media was conducted to collect 651 valid responses. Findings/Results: We used a variance-based partial least squares structural equation model to show that attitudes, perceived behavioral control, subjective norms, and consumer ethnocentrism, directly and indirectly, affect people's intentions to buy local goods online. Conclusions: In our structural model, we stress how vital consumer ethnocentrism and subjective norms are as internal and external factors for consumers. Implications: We encourage managers of local businesses and future researchers to include these concepts in their marketing plans and research. Novelty: This research shows that consumers react differently to the opposite sign of consumer ethnocentrism when they deal with subjective norms as an outside factor because of competitive mediation. Limitations: The generalizability of our findings to different countries, situations, and product categories is limited, so we suggest future research expand beyond our scope.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a manufacturing company that produces chemicals, namely industrial glue located in Batamindo Industrial Park, Muka Kuning, Batam. The packing department is an important department in the production process if in this process there are obstacles and problems there will be delays in delivery. One of the concerns is the workload in the gusset bag packing process. Workload is measured based on the work station and each individual packing operator. By making observations using the workload analysis (WLA) method which is seen from several assessment factors such as identification of productive and non-productive activities, productive percentage, performance rating, and allowance or allowance, the workload value in the gusset bag packing process can be known. The observation results show that the finish goods packing station experiences an overload workload of 135%. The workload at this station is high because this process requires extra energy to do a lot of job desc compared to other stations. For workload per individual operator, it is known that operators who have worked longer have a high workload than new operators. The workload for the workstation is more influenced by the high allowance factor and for the operator workload the influencing aspect is the performance rating.

Abstract

Currently, the need for an internet connection is increasing due to the human need for information and communication that can be obtained through the internet. A decision support system with criteria is needed to solve the challenge of choosing an internet package with many components or criteria that must be evaluated. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) are two multi-criteria decision support system techniques, but they use different measurement techniques. This research aims to identify the best Internet Service Provider by applying the Simple Additive Weight (SAW) and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) techniques. The objects used in this research are the providers Indihome, Biznet, and Solnet. The weight of each criterion is determined using the AHP technique, and the best suppliers are ranked using the SAW approach. The sampling technique used in this research was Purposive Sampling. In this study, the ranking results of 100 respondents showed that the ranking for the AHP method was 60% and for the SAW method was 92%. Thus, global calculations using the AHP and SAW methods were obtained for the best alternative ISP, namely Indihome.

Abstract

Appropriate and effective learning methods are needed that are truly able to develop sales skills, especially Business to Business (B2B) sales. This study aims to empirically test how effective the Project Based Learning B2B Sales Meeting organized by the Applied Business Administration Study Program is in improving student sales skills. The method used to answer research problems is Quasi Experiment method. The results of hypothesis testing using the t-test showed that there were significant differences in the pretest and posttest scores of the research subject's sales skills and the posttest scores showed a higher value than the pretest scores. Thus PBL B2B Sales Meeting is effective in improving sales skills of research subjects. With the proven effectiveness of the PBL method, it is recommended that this method be applied in other courses.
