Abstract

ABSTRACT At this time in the learning that is applied in sekolahan most aspects of critical thinking skills of students less become the center of attention by the teacher as well as with aspects of cognitive style of students. This study aims to describe the critical thinking skills of cognitive-style students on biology learning through learning model of Circuit Learning with Visual media. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII-B MTS SYI'AR ISLAM Maibit Rengel consisting of 15 students of cognitive impulsive style, 11 students of accurate cognitive style, 4 students of reflective style, 2 cognitive-style students slowly inaccurate. This study is a descriptive study with the subject of the respiratory system. Critical thinking skills data were obtained from the critical thinking test sheet from Ennis's critical thinking skills indicator and cognitive style data obtained from cognitive style tests referring to the Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT) cognitive style instrument developed by Warli (2010). From the results of data analysis, students with cognitive style accurately have a higher critical thinking ability compared with other cognitive-style students. Thus it can beconcluded that there are differences about students' critical thinking skills in accordance with the cognitive style possessed by students through the application ofCircuitLearning model on biology learning. Keywords: Critical Thinking, Cognitive Style, Learning Circuit Learning Model, and Visual Media.

Abstract

Mangrove Center Tuban (MCT) Jenu is a conservation area of mangrove forests in Tuban District, it is located on the north coast with a width of about 56 ha. This MCT area has been developed into an ecotourism area with the object of mangrove forests and sea firs. The sustainability of MCT as an Ecotourism area depends on the role of the community and its participation in the management of the ecotourism. As the purpose of this research is: 1) to describe the community perception of environmental management in the MCT Jenu eco-tourism area; 2) to describe community participation in environmental management in the MCT Jenu eco-tourism area, and 3) to find out the affecting factors of community participation in environmental management in the MCT Jenu Tuban ecotourism area. This study was conducted from November 2019 to January 2020. The number of respondents were 20 people whose presence of Wana Bahari group; Wana Asri group, and the visitors of them. Data collection was  done with field observation, dissemination, and interviews. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The result showed that the level of community perception about the management of ecotourism in the MCT area and the level of  community  participation in the management of ecotourism in the MCT area was in a good category. While affecting factors of public participation in ecotourism management derived from the economic activity and the role of the MCT Foundation in the management of the MCT area. Research results are expected to benefit for: 1) raising public awareness of the importance of maintaining the mangrove forest conservation area through their participation in environmental management in the MCT eco-tourism area; 2 strengthening cooperation between communities, and MCT  managers for the continuity of the MCT area who have a function for the conservation of mangrove forests.

Abstract

Writing scientific articles that are integrated with learning biology is still rarely done. On the other hand, students' critical thinking skills need to be developed. One of the efforts is to develop students' thinking skills by writing scientific articles by optimizing digital and information literacy use. Scientific articles are used as student assignments in learning conservation and environmental knowledge through the group investigation learning model. This study aims to determine the effect of writing scientific articles through optimizing digital and information literacy on students' critical thinking skills. The method used in this research is quantitative with a non-experimental explanatory design. Data collection using a questionnaire with a Five Point Likert Scale. There were 43 respondents, of which 100 percent of the completed questionnaire was usable for further analysis. Data analysis in this study used a structural equation model with a partial less square analysis technique (SEM-PLS) using smart-pls 3.2.7 software at a significance level of 5% to predict the hypothesis. Structural Equation Modeling Estimation Shows that Digital Literacy, Information Literacy, and Article Writing Affect Students' Critical Thinking Skills. These findings indicate that writing scientific articles through optimizing digital and information literacy has an effect on students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, writing scientific articles through optimizing digital and information literacy is one method to improve students' critical thinking skills. The implication in the world of education, writing scientific articles through optimizing digital and information literacy can be used as an alternative task for students to improve critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The inquiry-based nutrition topic module was developed so that it can be used as an alternative innovative learning media and is expected to accommodate students' learning needs based on cognitive style. This study aims to design an inquiry-based nutrition topic module to train valid critical thinking skills. This study used the 4D research and development model but only reached the product validity stage. The initial stage (define) carried out the MFFT test in class VIIIA SMPN 2 Jenu, the results were 11 students with a reflective cognitive style and 11 students with an impulsive cognitive style. Based on the results of the MFFT test, the design of the inquiry-based nutrition topic module was designed to accommodate cognitive style. The validation instrument was used online using a google form which was carried out by 3 validators from junior high school science teachers in Tuban Regency. The instrument used is a validity sheet which includes material aspects, systematics, language, graphics, suitability with the stages of inquiry, and suitability with critical thinking indicators. Data were analyzed using a quantitative descriptive technique with a Likert scale as a result of the validation carried out by the validator. The results showed that the inquiry-based nutrition topic module to train critical thinking skills met very valid criteria with a mean score of 3.74. This module needs to be tested for its practicality and effectiveness in learning.Abstrak Modul topik nutrisi berbasis inkuiri dikembangkan agar dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif media pembelajaran inovatif dan diharapkan dapat mengakomodasi kebutuhan belajar murid berdasarkan gaya kognitif. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang modul topik nutrisi berbasis inkuiri untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis yang valid. Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian dan pengembangan 4D namun hanya sampai pada tahap validitas produk. Tahap awal (define) dilakukan tes MFFT pada kelas VIIIA SMPN 2 Jenu didapatkan hasil 11 siswa bergaya kognitif reflektif dan 11 siswa bergaya kognitif impulsif. Berdasarkan hasil tes MFFT, desain modul topik nutrisi berbasis inkuiri dirancang dengan mengakomodasi gaya kognitif. Instrumen validasi digunakan secara online menggunakan google form yang dilakukan oleh 3 orang validator dari guru IPA SMP di Kabupaten Tuban. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validitas yang meliputi aspek materi, sistematika, kebahasaan, kegrafikaan, kesesuaian dengan tahapan inkuiri, dan kesesuaian dengan indikator berpikir kritis. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif dengan skala likert hasil validasi yang dilakukan oleh validator. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan modul topik nutrisi berbasis inkuiri untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis telah memenuhi kriteria sangat valid dengan skor rerata 3,74. Modul ini perlu diuji kepraktisan dan keefektifannya dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Organic fertilizer as an alternative to reduce the scarcity of chemical fertilizers, otherwise it can improve soil fertility. PT. Semen Gresik - Semen Indonesia Persero (Tbk.) Has a lot of plants in the treatment period in ex-mining land that needs fertilizer to help plant growth. In addition, in post-mining land, there is a lot of organic waste in the form of dry leaves under the stands of reclamation trees. The organic waste has the potential to be processed and used as organic fertilizer. This study aims to determine the utilize leaf litter in the reclaimed mine land as organic fertilizer with EM 4 and Molasses bioactivators. This study used is a laboratory experimental method. The results showed the composition of solid material in the form of leaf litter, bran, cow dung and husk charcoal in a ratio of 2: 1: 1: 1 as well as looking material in the form of molasses and EM4 with a dose of 100ml per 100kg of solid material dissolved in enough water (fertilizer can be clenched and expanded slowly and not broken). Conclusion leaf litter in the former reclaimed land can be processed and used as organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Community service activitiy for the Biology Education study program UNIROW Tuban was carried out at SMA 1 Kragan 1, it was Training on Making Plant Hormones from Organic Materials. Community service activitie Training for Making Plant Hormones Based on Local Wisdom from Organic Materials was carried out at SMA 1 Kragan because they had never made Plant Hormones Based on Local Wisdom from Organic Materials and the raw material for making Plant Hormones Based on Local Wisdom from abundant organic materials, namely Moringa leaves. The timing of the Community Service Implementation in February - March 2021. The community service that was carried out was able to provide several results, including: (1) there was a collaboration between UNIROW and SMA N 1 Kragan. (2) The results of the good responses from the participants based on the results of the questionnaire after the training amounted to 66.67%, the participants were satisfied with the training on making plant hormones based on local wisdom from Moringa leaves because it was in accordance with the expectations of the participants.

Abstract

Proses membangun pengetahuan merupakan dasar dari suksesnya pembelajaran. Pembelajaran di Abad 21 menitikberatkan pada kompetensi yang digunakan untuk mengatasi permasalahan sehari-hari. Keterampilan metakognitif merupakan keterampilan siswa mampu merefleksikan apa yang mereka pelajari. Siswa yang memiliki keterampilan metakognitif diharapkan mampu menguasai konsep-konsep genetika. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pengetahuan genetika dan keterampilan metakognitif siswa dalam praktikum isolasi DNA berdasarkan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII di salah satu SMA di Tuban Jawa Timur. Untuk keterampilan metakognitif, digunakan instrumen Metacognitive Awareness Inventory yang dimodifikasi dari Schraw dan Dennison (1994). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa yang diuji memiliki tingkat keterampilan metakognitif dalam kategori berkembang sangat baik sebesar 50%, berkembang baik 36% dan mulai berkembang 13%. Ditinjau dari indikator metakognitif menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan siswa memiliki keterampilan metakognitif yang berkembang sangat baik dan baik. Namun siswa masih memiliki kelemahan dalam indikator evaluasi yang masih terdapat keterangan keterampilan metakognitif siswa belum berkembang sebesar 1%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi keterampilan metakognitif siswa berdampak terhadap hasil tes pengetahuan genetika. Hasil tes pengetahuan genetika menunjukkan pengetahuan siswa dalam kategori tinggi sampai sedang. Keterampilan metakognitif berperan dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan genetika yang didukung dengan praktikum isolasi genetika yang berdasarkan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Abstrack: The process of building knowledge is the basis of successful learning. Learning in the 21st Century focuses on competencies that are used to solve everyday problems. Metacognitive skills are skills students are able to reflect on what they learn. Students who have metacognitive skills are expected to be able to master genetic concepts. The purpose of this study was to describe the genetic knowledge and metacognitive skills of students in DNA isolation practicum based on a project-based learning model. The subjects of this study were students of class XII in one of the senior high schools in Tuban, East Java. For metacognitive skills, a modified Metacognitive Awareness Inventory instrument was used from Schraw and Dennison (1994). The results showed that most of the students tested had a metacognitive skill level in the category of very well developed by 50%, well developed 36% and starting to develop 13%. In terms of metacognitive indicators, it shows that overall students have metacognitive skills that are very well developed and well developed. However, students still have weaknesses in the evaluation indicators and there is still a description of students' metacognitive skills that have not developed by 1%. This shows that the higher students' metacognitive skills have an impact on the results of the genetic knowledge test. The results of the genetic knowledge test showed students' knowledge in the high to medium category. Metacognitive skills play a role in increasing genetic knowledge, supported by genetic isolation practicum based on a project-based learning model.

Abstract

Creating creative, innovative, and effective learning to improve critical thinking skills along with the rapid development of ICT is a challenge for educators. Therefore, Figma CTL Learning Media (Figma-CTLLM) is a solution to the problem of answering the importance of developing learning media integrated with ICT while developing students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to describe the practicality of Figma-CTLLM on Poaceae diversity in developing critical thinking skills and to describe the effectiveness of Figma-CTLLM on the topic of Poaceae diversity seen from critical thinking skills and student responses. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) research using the 4D model method (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). The research subjects consisted of 26 students. The research instruments were observation sheets to measure the implementation of Figma-CTLLM, CTS test questions sheets and questionnaires to determine student responses. The data analysis technique was quantitatively descriptive by calculating the percentage to describe the practicality and effectiveness of Figma-CTLLM implementation in developing CTS. The results of the analysis of the practicality test of Figma-CTLLM implementation in learning are in the category of very practical. The effectiveness test results were declared very effective by acquiring the average CTS measurement and the average student response assessment. Based on the study's results, the implementation of Figma-CTLLM in learning the diversity of Poaceae has met the criteria of practicality and effectiveness.

Abstract

Given how quickly technology is developing, 21st-century learning must connect with it and focus on giving students the skills they need to succeed in the twenty-first century. This research aims to design e-modules integrated with game-based problem-based learning to improve 21st-century skills. The research method uses the ADDIE development model, which is limited to the development stage. The validation test was conducted on four expert validators consisting of 2 researchers and two practitioners. The findings indicated that the e-module received an 83% score for its content/material component, an 84% score for its systematic component, an 83% score for its language component, and an 84% score for its visual component. With an average percentage of 84%, the e-module design met extremely valid requirements when taken as a whole. These results indicate that the e-modules that have been designed have a relatively high level of validity so that the e-module is ready to be tested without revision.

Abstract

Sampah adalah bahan yang tidak digunakan lagi yang berbentuk padat maupun cair.Sampah akan menimbulkan berbagai masalah jika tidak ditangani secara baik Sampah-sampah di laut merupakan salah satu sumber pencemaran laut dan sebagai penyebab global berbagai dampak ekologis. sampah anorganik merupakan sampah yang sulit membusuk,seperti botol dan gelas plastik minuman,kertas,kayu dan sebagainya Sampah organik ,sampah yang cepat membusuk,seperti kulit buah-buahan,sayuran,sisa makanan,buah-buahan,daun -daun kering.Sampah organik ini dapat diolah menjadi kompos.Pengomposan dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan biourine.Tujuan dari pelatihan ini mengetahui bahaya sampah organik dan memanfaatkan sampah organik menjadi kompos dengan bamtuan biourine.Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi bahaya sampah organik,pelatihan dan worshop.Kesipulan dari pelatihan ini dari tanggapan peserta pelatihan mengenai bahan yang digunakan dalam pelatihan banyak tersedia di lingkungan tempat tinggal mereka,terutama bahan EM4,tetapi mereka tidak tahu penggunaannya.Keunggulan pelatihan ini,kompos dari sampah organik dengan bantuan biourine dapat mempercepat pertumbuhan tanaman dan juga pupuk ini ramah lingkungan.Namun pupuk ini memiliki kekurangan yaitu proses pembuatanya membutuhkan waktu yang lama.
