Abstract

 Infectious diseases is a very dangerous disease, especially in children under 5 years old. Diarrhea be one of infectious diseases that the commonly encountered. It is estimated that more than 10 million children were less than 5 years die each year where around 20% die of infections diarrhea. Progress in reducing diarrheal diseases influenced by the perception of attitudes and knowledge of every member of society, especially mother perspective because its important role in the prevention and process treatment of diarrheal diseases. The objective  of this study is  to determine mother perspective of diarrhea on children under 5 years old in central Sumba. This study used a qualitative research design with in-depth interview. Number of research participants whor  mothers. Research location was in of North Wendewa Village, Mananga Health Center in Central Sumba District.  Results:  The mother's perspective on diarrheal infection is influenced by factors such as lack of knowledge, maternal behavior, economy, environment and health services. Conclusion: The formation of a mother's perspective  are influenced by factors such as lack of knowledge, level of education, as well as lack of sources of information obtained from various media and resulting in maternal behavior in dealing with infectious diseases. The others caused by low economic factors, inadequate environment and health services.

Abstract

Tuberkulosis merupakan penyakit yang menjadi perhatian global. Salatiga adalah Kota yang memiliki kasus Tuberkolusis terbanyak no.4 di Jawa Tengah. Resiko tertinggi terinfeksi kuman TB Paru adalah seseorang yang paling memiliki kontak dengan pasien TB Paru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memberikan gambaran mengenai resiko penularan terhadap keluarga dengan pasien TB Paru di Salatiga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Jenis data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini terbagi menjadi data primer, data sekunder, data pendukung. Penelitian dilakukan pada lima orang partisipan untuk proses pengambilan data. Partisipan merupakan anggota keluarga yang tinggal serumah sekaligus merawat pasien TB Paru.Dari hasil penelitian ini, diperoleh empat tema yaitu: pengetahuan anggota keluarga tentang Tb Paru, Lama waktu interaksi antara pasien Tb Paru dengan keluarga, skrining Tb Paru oleh keluarga, penanganan  oleh keluarga terhadap pasien Tb Paru. Masih adanya resiko penularan yang terjadi pada keluarga atau partisipan. Hal ini dikarenakan partisipan memiliki kesadaran yang kurang terhadap penularan TB Paru, lama waktu antara partisipan yang bersama dengan pasien Tb Paru dan kurang pengawasan minum obat.

Abstract

The increasing number of elderly people from year to year shows the high life expectancy in elderly women. This situation coupled with cultural and social aspects can trigger vulnerability for elderly women, including the health aspect. This study aims to describe the factors of access to health services for elderly women in the village of Pancuran, Salatiga. The method used is descriptive-quantitative with data collection carried out in Pancuran Village using a questionnaire. Elderly women in Pancuran Village have different economic, educational, employment and social status backgrounds but have the same vulnerability to access health services due to the unavailability of posyandu for the elderly in Pancuran Village. Nevertheless, efforts to access health services are still underway. This research shows that cultural involvement in health care is needed to realize integrated, patient-centered, and gender-friendly health services.

Abstract

Canistel fruit (Pouteria campechiana) is one of the plants that originates from Central America. In Indonesia, canistel is rarely found and not utilized optimally. Canistel contains very high carotenoids which can be used as food coloring and vitamin A supplements. Butter from canistel is an effort to increase the nutritional and economic value of this fruit. Objectives; the purpose of this study was to use the canistel into butter and see the acceptance of the researchers. Method; the study was conducted in September 2018, at the Food Technology Food Process Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Satya Wacana Christian University. This study uses laboratory experimental methods with various prescription formulations. Results; organoleptic test results obtained differences in color, aroma, taste, texture and overall from 3 variants butter. Butter from canistel showed a positive trend toward the acceptance of panelists. This product has good potential in the utilization of canistel into butter. Conclution; utilization of canistel in the development of food products can be used as a food diversification that is rich in nutrients as well as a good impact to help nutritional intake, especially of vitamin A.

Abstract

The process of aging and old age is a natural process for everyone. Increasing age can put you at risk for diseases that can attack the endocrine system. One of the diseases that many elderly have is Diabetes Mellitus with a total of 1,752 cases in 2018. To help overcome this, a form of elderly health service has emerged that can guarantee and improve health, namely the elderly posyandu. Thus, this study aims to explore the existence of health services for elderly women with Diabetes Mellitus. The method used is descriptive qualitative method with the sample technique used is purposive sampling. The instrument used was an interview guide. The results showed that many elderly women experience Diabetes Mellitus but health insurance such as the elderly posyandu is rarely found in Dukuh Pancuran. The rarity of the posyadu program for the elderly because of the lack of attention from the Dukuh Pancuran administrators can have an impact on the quality of life of the elderly. Therefore, the interaction of the elderly with the social environment is an important factor in maintaining the health needs of the elderly. The conclusion of this research is that health services such as posyandu for the elderly are needed to control and improve the quality of life for the welfare of the elderly. This research can be taken into consideration for administrators of Dukuh Pancuran and Puskesmas in implementing the posyandu program for the elderly.

Abstract

Hingga saat ini masih terdapat kelompok rawan yang masih memiliki permasalahan kesejahteraan subjektif, yaitu kelompok transpuan lansia karena masih kuatnya stigma yang masih ada di masyarakat. Dengan melakukan diskusi terarah, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pencapaian kesejahteraan subjektif pada transpuan lansia dalam kehidupan sosial, agama, ekonomi, dan layanan publik. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan focus group discussion yang mengeksplorasi mengenai kehidupan transpuan, kehidupan transpuan, hubungan sosial, pekerjaan, agama, dan pemenuhan pangan. Analisis dilakukan dengan proses reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Partisipan yang terlibat berjumlah 5 orang dengan kriteria memasuki usia lansia dan tergabung di  pondok pesantren Al-Fatah Yogyakarta. Hasil yang didapat dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa seluruh partisipan masih mengalami kesulitan perekonomian. Kesulitan ekonomi yang dialami para transpuan ini mendorong Pondok Pesantren Al-Fatah ini terus memberikan pelatihan intensif dan memperbanyak pelatihan di berbagai bidang demi meningkatkan kualitas ekonomi yang mereka hadapi. Selanjutnya, terkait aspek sosial, agama, dan penggunaan layanan publik, partisipan didukung oleh Pondok Pesantren dengan memberikan kemudahan untuk mengakses tempat ibadah, mendapatkan layanan publik serta bersinergi dengan masyarakat sekitar tanpa takut menerima diskriminasi. Selain itu, pondok pesantren juga membantu partisipan untuk dapat mengakses pangan dengan memberikan bantuan sembako.

Abstract

 Perkembangan tekonologi yang semakin canggih dapat memudahkan pekerjaan manusia. Salah satu tekonologi adalah gadget. Gadget tidak hanya digunakan orang dewasa namun juga digunakan anak-anak untuk mengakses game. Games juga digunakan untuk mendukung aspek-aspek perkembangan salah satunya kognitif. Perkembangan kognitif sangat diperlukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan otak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh intensitas bermain game terhadap tingkat kognitif (kecerdasan logika-matematika) anak usia 8-9 tahun. Kecerdasan logika-matematika dapat dinilai atau diwakili dari kemampuan berhitung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner dan soal tes matematika. Teknik Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas berupa kolmogrov-smirnov, shapiro-wilk dan uji mann-whitney. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Sekolah Dasar Kristen Satya Wacana Salatiga kelas 3 berjumlah 60 anak. Hasil penelitian Responden dengan nilai kemampuan berhitung < 70 sebanyak 30 anak dengan rata-rata waktu bermain game 4.9 jam per hari dan 4.5 jam per minggu. Responden dengan nilai kemampuan berhitung > 70 sebanyak 30 anak dengan rata-rata waktu bermain game 2.8 jam per hari dan 2.2 jam per minggu. Data ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai ≤ 70 cendrung bermain game lama. Durasi bermain game ≤ 3 jam per hari dan > 3 jam per hari memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kognitif. Durasi bermain game ≤ 21 jam per minggu dan > 21 jam per minggu memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kognitif.  Kata kunci: bermain game, kognitif (Kecerdasa Logika-Matematika), kemampuan otak.AbstractThe advance of technology could ease the people for work. One kind of this is gadget. Gadget is not only used by adult, yet the children too to access the game. The game also used to bolster the aspects of growth, either is cognitive growth. Cognitive growth is required to improve the brain power. The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of the intensity of playing games to cognitive level (Logical-Mathematical Intelegence) for the children aged 8-9 years Logical-Mathematical Intelegence may be valued or represented by the numeracy skills. This research utilize quantitative and descriptive method by using several instrument such as math test and questionnaire. Analysis Data Technique, performed by using the normality test of kolmagrov-smirnov, shapiro-wilk and mann-whitney test. This research done in The Christian Primary School of Satya Wacana to 60 3rd graders pupils. The research to the respondent result that 30 pupils who playing games with average of time 4,9 hours a day and 4,5 hours a week have score of numeracy skills ≤ 70. While theother 30 pupils who playing games with verage of time 2,8 hours a day and 2,2 hours a week have score of numeracy skills >70. This data shows that the score <70 owned by the pupils who play the games longer. Duration of playing games <3 hours or >3 hours a day have a significant impact to cognitive level Likewise, duration of playing games <21 hours or >21 hours a week have a significant impact to cognitive level.Key words : Playing Game, Cognitive (Logical-Mathematical Intelegence ), The ability of the brain.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Penurunan kondisi tubuh lansia menyebabkan lansia cenderung sensitif dalam memilih suatu produk makanan yang akan dikonsumsi. Lansia juga termasuk kelompok umur yang berisiko tinggi terhadap penyakit kronik seperti Diabetes Melitus (DM). Tujuan: penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan formulasi puding modifikasi daun salam terbaik ditinjau dari kandungan flavonoid dan uji sensoris yang meliputi aspek tekstur, warna, aroma. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental. Tahapan penelitian meliputi studi pendahuluan dengan metode recall makan 24 jam pada lansia wanita post menopause; penentuan formulasi puding dengan ekstrak daun salam; uji kandungan flavonoid; dan uji sensoris yang meliputi aspek tekstur, warna dan aroma melalui uji hedonik. Penelitian dilakukan di empat panti wreda di Semarang. Hasil: Puding yang paling disukai oleh panelis adalah sampel B yang memiliki warna cokelat, aroma cokelat dengan kekerasan 147,2912 gf. Kandungan flavonoid tertinggi diperoleh pada sampel B (12,90 mg qe/g) diikuti sampel A (6,50 mg qe/g), sampel C (5,13 mg qe/g) dan kontrol (2,23 mg qe/g). Kesimpulan: Puding yang paling direkomendasikan adalah puding formula B yang merupakan puding yang paling disukai dengan kandungan flavonoid tertinggi.

Abstract

Food is a basic human need. Development of nutritious food can be done by utilizing marine natural resources such as seaweed that utilization is not optimal. This study aims to determine the composition of total nutrients (ash content, water content, carbohydrates, fats and proteins) of red seaweed Gracilaria edule (S.G. Gmelin) P.C. Silva and Gracilaria coronopifolia J. Agardh. Proximate analysis using Apriyantono, et al, modified method. Research shows that Gracilaria edule (S.G. Gmelin) P.C. Silva has higher fat content than Gracilaria coronopifolia J. Agardh which is 18,99%; for carbohydrate levels, Gracilaria coronopifolia J. Agardh has higher carbohydrate content than Gracilaria edule (S.G. Gmelin) P.C. Silva is 1.38%; while for protein content has the same protein content that is 0,01%. Water content in seaweed Gracilaria edule (S.G. Gmelin) P.C. Silva higher water content than Gracilaria coronopifolia J. Agardh that is 72,95%%; For ash content, seaweed Gracilaria coronopifolia J. Agardh has higher ash content than Gracilaria edule (S.G. Gmelin) P.C. Silva and for coarse fiber, seaweed Gracilaria edule (S.G. Gmelin) P.C. Silva is higher that is 7.62%. Seaweed contains many essential nutrients necessary for the human body, such as Protein, Carbohydrates and Rough Fiber. Its low fat content and high coarse fiber make seaweed good for consumption. Thus, Gracilaria edule (S.G. Gmelin) P.C. Silva and Gracilaria coronopifolia J. Agardh can be developed into functional food so as to increase market demand and coastal economy can also increase.

Abstract

Grains known as foods that contain purine. The existence of purines can cause gout patients/ hyperuricemiaincreased levels of uric acid in the blood. High levels of uric acid cause gout arthritis. This study aims todetermine the increase in uric acid levels in male rats (Rattus norvegicus) by the intake of various types ofgrain. Male rats per group were given intake melinjo (Gnemon gnetum), soy (Glycine max), white rice(Oryza sativa), peanuts (Arachis hypogaea), red beans (Phaseolus vulgaris), green beans (Vigna radiata),and BR1 (as control). Long treatment for 15 days. Calculation of uric acid levels in male rats at the start ofthe day to 0, 5, 10, and 15. The measurement results showed that rats with intake a diet melinjo seeds haveelevated levels of uric acid highest is 20 mg/dl and the lowest is peanuts (7,2 mg/dl), while control is 4,2mg/dl. The amount of uric acid content in rats with grain intake showed a high purine content. This studyconcluded that contribute grain in elevated uric acid levels are highest is melinjo, rice, green beans,soybeans, red beans, and peanuts.
