Abstract

Monsoon onset information plays an important role in setting up planting strategy for achieving optimum yield. This study aimed to develop forecasting model for the monsoon onset in main rice growing area of Java used Regional Climate Model Version 3.1 (RegCM3). The forecasting models of the monsoon onset and September-Oktober-November (SON) rainfall data were developed using regression model that have the highest coefficient determination and the models were tested using likelihood ratio test. It was found that the forecasting models of the monsoon onset and September-Oktober-November rainfall data were polynomial orde 2 or cuadratic that have coefficient determination 69%, 74%, 80% and 86%. Likelihood ratio test found that RegCM3 rainfall data was not significantly different with observation rainfall data (α = 0.05). Onset in Java between 25th until 34th of 10-days period (early September until early December).

Abstract

Salah satu dampak paling signifikan dari perubahan iklim adalah kenaikan permukaan laut. Wilayah pesisir Pangandaran yang terletak di Selatan Jawa Samudra Hindia secara langsung memiliki risiko banjir lebih tinggi akibat kenaikan permukaan laut (SLR) dibandingkan dengan wilayah pesisir di Utara Jawa. Dampak langsung dari kenaikan muka laut, pada umumnya, diukur berdasarkan besarnya kerusakan fisik maupun kerugian ekonomi. Dalam kajian ini, kerusakan fisik dinotasikan sebagai persentase penyusutan atau perubahan penggunaan/tutupan lahan yang terpapar oleh banjir air laut. Kerugian ekonomi didekati dengan biaya kerusakan tiap jenis penggunaan lahan yang terpapar oleh banjir air laut. Satuan biaya (unit cost) tiap jenis penggunaan/tutupan lahan yang terusakkan dapat diperoleh dari hasil survei kuesioner, diskusi kelompok mendalam (focus group discussion, FGD), dan riset terdahulu. Hasil analisis SLR menunjukkan bahwa sementara penurunan tanah mencapai lebih dari 85 ha. Sementara itu, kerugian permanen akibat SLR pada 2025 dan 2050 hampir sama yaitu sekitar 40 ha, meskipun SLR meningkat lebih dari 0,24 meter menjadi 0,50 meter (skenario rendah) atau dari 0,30 meter hingga 0,64 meter (skenario tinggi). Ini bisa dimengerti karena elevasi Pantai Pangandaran cukup tinggi. Selain kerugian fisik, jenis kerugian lain yang disebabkan oleh SLR rusak atau hilang sebagian dari penggunaan lahan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kerugian tertinggi terjadi di sektor permukiman dibandingkan dengan sektor pertanian, dan permukiman yang terkena dampak SLR lebih luas dengan meningkatnya periode proyeksi.

Abstract

This study was conducted in the area of Intensive Silviculture/ TPTII of PT Sari Bumi Kusuma in Central Kalimantan. Research purposes to analyze the impact and build social economic activities from TPTII silvicultural systems in the scope of carbon trading. The results of the analysis showed that the increase of TPTII activities lead to the increasing recognition of indigenous people and make condusive certainty of the business. However, the employment negatively correlated to the size of planting area, the minimum life needs are still at least low compared with the poverty standard of the World Bank. Based on the results of the analysis and projections indicate that scenario increasing community development/ PMDH and implementation of a continuous TPTII can press shifting cultivation growing rate of deforestation and degradation in the year to 50, as compared to no guidance of other parties and TPTII activities. In term of Carbon Conservation that community love to plant attractively is rubber, meranti and tengkawang. Compensation value for carbon conservation feasible for the community of Rp. 380.000/month/family. To involve the community directly in conservation activities in the carbon framework of REDD, then suggested to the program within the community, increasing the number and skills of communities and local labor, desimination activities of TPTII to the community, and providing a compensation fund can be derived from the DR/Reforestation Fee or other source of funds.
