Abstract

In recent years, it is significant for the higher education students to have the proficiency in English. Most of theseinstitutions set this language proficiency as one of the requirements for their students to graduate. They have been designingandestablishing various ways on how to increase the student’s proficiency, particularly in pronunciation skill. However, theresultsobtained are yet satisfactory. As a matter of fact, in measuring the English pronunciation skill, the guidance fromthe expertsornative speakers are still needed. Thus, the development of the artificial intelligence nowadays can have great contributiontoreplacethe existence of these experts by integrating it into the pronunciation learning. The aim of this research was to establishatrainingsystem in pronunciation, to provoke the students’ self-directed learning. Besides that, this system was also developedinordertoautomatically measure the learning effectiveness by employing the paired sample t-test. The results show that the systemthathasbeen established can measure the percentage of the student’s pronunciation accuracy in each utterance they make, and whetherthereis a essential improvement in students pronunciation ability.

Abstract

By requiring students to find solutions to problems that occur in society in different ways from one another, even with the same problem cases. With the same case but different solutions, students look for referencestoarticlesorjournalswithtopicsthatarenotmuchdifferent.Suchassearchingontheinternet,books, as well as from thesis, final assignments and journals belonging to seniors. Therefore, if the final assignment raised by a student has also been appointed by a senior with the same thing, make the reference not as a basic reference for research but more as a cheat material by playing with words so they don't look the same. And for supervisors who do not have time to look for senior final assignments with similar titles to check one by one. Therefore,this makesstudentsuncriticalofthe topicsraised,so thatthewritingofthefinalprojectseemstojust makeanordinaryassignmentpaper.In this study, to measure the final project document of Padang State Polytechnic students, 4 methods of similarity processing were used. That is using the Rabin-Karp, Jaro-Winkler, Hybrid (Rabin-Karp and Jaro-Winkler Combination) andHybrid algorithms withtextmining normalization.Of thefour methodscomparedto which method is suitable for processing final project documents that have more than 10000 words and a relatively short processing time. By examining various aspects, it was found that the Rabin-Karp algorithm is suitable for this case with a shorter processing time and a higher percentage than the Jaro-Winkler algorithm. Therefore, the Jaro-Winkler algorithm is more suitable for systems to check for typo sentences, online essay exams, auto correct typo sentences or suggestions in the search column because the algorithm compares each character.

Abstract

Pengajaran pemrograman komputer dalam konteks teknik mesin sering kali terbatas pada konsep-konsep dasar, tanpa penerapan langsung dalam kasus-kasus teknik mesin yang konkret. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas penerapan image processing dalam pembelajaran pemrograman komputer melalui pendekatan flipped classroom, dengan fokus pada aplikasi dalam memprediksi laju korosi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus di kelas pemrograman komputer bagi mahasiswa teknik mesin. Pada siklus pertama, metode pembelajaran case method digunakan. Mahasiswa diberikan modul ajar tentang image processing dengan MATLAB dan kasus studi prediksi laju korosi yang harus dipelajari sebelum pertemuan kelas. Pertemuan kelas digunakan untuk diskusi, bimbingan, dan tes untuk mengukur pemahaman dan keterampilan mahasiswa, dengan hasil ketuntasan sebesar 60%. Siklus kedua menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek tim (team-based project). Mahasiswa dibagi menjadi kelompok kecil, diberi waktu untuk berdiskusi, dan mengerjakan proyek bersama. Tes yang dilakukan setelah pembelajaran menunjukkan peningkatan ketuntasan hingga 82,31%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan flipped classroom yang dikombinasikan dengan pembelajaran berbasis proyek tim dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan praktis mahasiswa dalam image processing. Implikasi praktis dari penelitian ini termasuk relevansinya dalam meningkatkan efektivitas pengajaran pemrograman komputer dalam pendidikan teknik mesin.

Abstract

Flood is one of the annual disasters in many places. It has not been well-managed yet both pre-disaster and post-disaster. Image processing and machine learning are commonly utilized for disaster management systems such as forecasting any potential flood by monitoring the water level in rivers and dams. However, it has a limited framework to be implemented as a strategic plan in flood management. Thus, this study aims to develop a framework for image processing and machine learning utilization for flood management. This study involves Padang, West Sumatera, Indonesia as a sample. It was conducted in three stages; 1) categorize the strategic plans and policies; 2) gather relevant literature; 3) analyze data. As findings, this study proposes a framework consisting of enhanced disaster preparedness, improved coping capacity, and completion of post-disaster reconstruction and rehabilitation. Involvement of the government, researchers and industry are mandatory. Government and researchers should collaborate to establish policies and regulations. Researchers should conduct studies with financial support from the industry. Meanwhile, the industry should be a public-private partnership with the government. In addition, the involvement of the private sector and the government are important factors that must exist to support research in this field.

Abstract

EFL pronunciation learning is known to be teacher-centered, in which students are reliant on the feedback given by their teachers. Fortunately, the presence of technology-based learning tools is believed to be able to reduce students' dependency on teachers. A built-in Automatic Speech Recognition technology (ASR): ELSA Speak is a mobile-based application that could help students with pronunciation learning by providing prompt feedback and detailed evaluation of its users' pronunciation accuracy. The objective of this study was to examine the use of the mobile-based application, ELSA, in pronunciation learning and whether it could stimulate learners to become more autonomous. A mix-method approach was employed in this study. The quantitative data, in the forms of pre-test and post-test, was gathered through students' pronunciation recordings available in ELSA. This data was analyzed using the paired sample t-test. In addition, a Google Form questionnaire, in five-point Likert Scale, was used to support the quantitative findings. Meanwhile, a semi-structured interview with selected participants served as the qualitative one. These data were analyzed thematically based on the participants' responses. The result shows that incorporating mobile-based technology into English pronunciation learning could provide an opportunity for students to improve their pronunciation. Moreover, students could also broaden their repertoire of available practice strategies that might be useful to improve their autonomous learning ability.

Abstract

Undang-undang Nomor 12 Tahun 2012 tentang Pendidikan Tinggi mengatur kebijakan otonomi perguruan tinggi dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan perguruan adalah Sistem Penjamin Mutu Perguruan Tinggi (SPM-PT). Dalam SPM-PT terdapat struktur dan mekanisme yang terdiri atas Sistem Penjamin MutuInternal (SPMI), Sistem Penjamin Mutu Eksternal (SPME) dan Pangkalan Data (PD Dikti). Evaluasi pada jurusan Teknologi Informasi dilaksanakan setiap tahunnya. Pada siklus SPMI terdapat beberapa tahap yaitu Penetapan, Pelaksanaan, Evaluasi, Pengendalian dan Peningkatan (P-P-E-P-P). Peninjauan mutu pendidikan dilakukan pada siklus ketiga dari P-P-E-P-P yaitu tahap evaluasi. Dalam pengolahan data hasil penilaian evaluasi auditor masih menghabiskan banyak waktu serta sering ditemukan kesalahan. Serta dari hasil penilaian auditor yang meliputi sejumlah butir standar, jurusan perlu memprioritaskan butir standar mana yang akan diperbaiki atau ditingkat terlebih dahulu. Dalam hal evaluasi oleh auditor diperlukan mekanisme penginputan yang lebih memudahkan auditor. Oleh sebab itu dalam penelitian ini dikembangkan aplikasi berbasis android untuk memudahkan input data evaluasi butir standar SPMI oleh auditor. Di samping itu juga dilakukan pengelompokkan butir standar yang punya pengaruh yang sama terhadap mutu prodi. Metode pengelompokkan yang dilakukan menggunakan salah satu algoritma Clustering yaitu Hierarchical Clustering yang akan menghasilkan Cluster yang telah dikelompokkan berdasarkan pengaruh antar butir mutu lainnya. Sehingga dari sekian banyak butir standar, dapat ditentukan butir yang bisa diprioritaskan untuk ditingkatkan.

Abstract

Amazon web services (aws) merupakan platform komputasi awan yang disediakan oleh amazon. Docker adalah platform open-source yang memungkinkan pengembang untuk mengotomatisasi penyebaran aplikasi dalam container. Container merupakan teknologi virtualisasi terbaru, dengan container memudahkan sistem administrator dalam mengelola aplikasi pada server. Docker container dapat digunakan untuk membangun, mempersiapkan, dan menjalankan aplikasi. Internet of things (iot) adalah konsep di mana perangkat fisik yang dilengkapi dengan sensor, perangkat lunak, dan teknologi lainnya terhubung ke internet dan saling bertukar data. Teknologi iot merupakan teknologi yang marak digunakan dalam pembuatan suatu sistem termasuk sistem pengolahan pupuk dari kotoran ternak. Kurang efektifnya pengolahan pupuk dari kotoran ternak pada saat ini menyebabkan masalah bagi lingkungan. Pemanfaatan kotoran ternak dengan sistem iot merupakan salah satu solusi dalam meningkatkan produktivitas peternakan serta mengurangi dampak negatif limbah ternak terhadap lingkungan. Implementasi aws dan docker pada sistem pengolahan pupuk dari kotoran ternak dapat menjadi solusi yang efektif dalam pengolahan serta penyimpanan data secara real-time

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology requires vocational high school (SMK) students to have strong basic programming skills, yet algorithmic logic remains a major challenge. This study aims to enhance students’ understanding of basic programming through Flowgorithm training. The training was conducted face-to-face using demonstration and hands-on practice methods involving 32 eleventh-grade students of Software Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci. Evaluation results show that most participants agreed the material met their needs and expectations, was engaging and easy to understand, and improved their programming logic skills. The study concludes that Flowgorithm is effective as a visual tool for programming logic. Its implication suggests similar training models can be applied in other vocational schools to strengthen students’ algorithmic thinking foundation.
