Abstract

Attendance is an essential component of school management that serves as both proof of presence and a basis for evaluating the discipline of teachers, students, and staff. The manual attendance system that is still widely used often leads to several issues, such as delayed data recapitulation, potential attendance manipulation, and low recording accuracy. This study aims to design and develop a web-based attendance application at SD Negeri 19 Pasar Cubadak by integrating geolocation, timestamp, and face recognition features as attendance validation tools. The research method employed is the Research and Development (R&D) approach using the Waterfall software development model, which includes the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The application was developed using the Laravel framework with PHP and JavaScript programming languages and a MySQL database. The results show that the web-based attendance application can record attendance in real-time, automatically validate user location and identity, and generate accurate and transparent attendance reports. The User Acceptance Test (UAT) results indicate that the system is user-friendly, improves recapitulation efficiency, and assists the principal in objectively monitoring school members’ discipline. Therefore, this application is expected to serve as a modern solution to enhance the effectiveness of attendance administration in primary education environments.

Abstract

The demands of 21st-century education necessitate educators to possess robust digital literacy and pertinent technological competencies. This paper explores initiatives aimed at bolstering educators' digital literacy and technological adeptness through Canva design training utilizing the development study approach. By concentrating on the online graphic design platform during training sessions, educators can hone their abilities in crafting captivating and interactive learning materials. Purposive sampling was utilized in this study, selecting participants based on predefined criteria aligned with the research goals, particularly students enrolled in the Initial Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG Prajabatan) batch 1 for the academic year 2023/2024 across diverse educational fields. Research findings reveal that 90% of the 50 participating educators attested to their capability to generate compelling learning resources catering to the needs of 21st-century learners. Surveys among students further illustrate an 80% increase in interest and engagement in learning subsequent to Canva utilization. Consequently, Canva training substantially elevates the quality of learning materials and student involvement in the educational process. Targeted training equips educators to adeptly address the requisites of 21st-century education, thus facilitating an enhanced learning experience for students. This research contributes to discussions surrounding the professional development of educators in the digital age.

Abstract

Posyandu lansia merupakan kegiatan pelayanan kesehatan masyarakat yang berperan penting dalam pemantauan dan peningkatan kesehatan lanjut usia. Berdasarkan hasil observasi di Puskesmas Dadok Tunggul Hitam, proses pencatatan kegiatan posyandu masih dilakukan secara manual menggunakan buku register dan spreadsheet, sehingga menimbulkan kendala dalam efisiensi, keakuratan data, serta keterlambatan pelaporan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun aplikasi pengelolaan layanan lansia berbasis web yang dapat membantu proses pencatatan, pengelolaan data, serta pelaporan kegiatan posyandu secara terintegrasi. Metode pengembangan sistem yang digunakan adalah metode Waterfall, dengan tahapan meliputi analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan. Aplikasi ini dikembangkan menggunakan framework Laravel dengan basis data MySQL dan diimplementasikan pada lingkungan berbasis web agar mudah diakses oleh kader, perawat, serta kepala puskesmas. Hasil pengujian menggunakan metode black-box testing menunjukkan bahwa seluruh fungsi sistem berjalan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Aplikasi mampu menampilkan data lansia, hasil pemeriksaan, jadwal kegiatan, serta laporan otomatis dalam bentuk grafik dan tabel. Sistem ini meningkatkan efisiensi kerja, mengurangi kesalahan pencatatan, serta mempercepat proses pelaporan ke pihak puskesmas. Dengan demikian, aplikasi ini berhasil mendukung transformasi digital dalam pelayanan kesehatan masyarakat khususnya pada kegiatan posyandu lansia di Puskesmas Dadok Tunggul Hitam

Abstract

Kota Padang merupakan wilayah dengan curah hujan tinggi sepanjang tahun sehingga risiko banjir dapat terjadi kapan saja. Namun, sistem peringatan dini yang digunakan saat ini masih bersifat kualitatif dan belum mampu memberikan estimasi kuantitatif potensi banjir yang mendukung mitigasi preventif. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merekayasa aplikasi peramalan curah hujan bulanan dan potensi banjir di Kota Padang berbasis machine learning yang dilengkapi dengan analisis interpretatif. Penelitian ini menerapkan metodologi CRISP-DM untuk pengembangan model prediksi, dengan algoritma Random Forest Regressor dan XGBoost Regressor sebagai kandidat model yang dievaluasi. Data yang digunakan berupa data iklim historis yang mencakup curah hujan, suhu, dan kelembapan. Proses pemodelan dilakukan dengan membandingkan kinerja kedua algoritma menggunakan metrik Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) dan Mean Absolute Error (MAE). Untuk meningkatkan transparansi hasil prediksi, penelitian ini menerapkan Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) menggunakan metode SHAP guna menjelaskan kontribusi masing-masing variabel terhadap hasil peramalan.Pengembangan sistem dilakukan menggunakan metode rekayasa perangkat lunak Waterfall dengan arsitektur modular three-tier architecture dan diimplementasikan dalam bentuk aplikasi web. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model Random Forest menghasilkan kinerja prediksi yang lebih baik dibandingkan XGBoost. Aplikasi yang dibangun mampu menampilkan hasil peramalan, klasifikasi potensi banjir, serta visualisasi interpretatif, dan telah lulus pengujian fungsional dengan tingkat keberhasilan 100%. Sistem ini dinilai layak digunakan sebagai sistem pendukung keputusan BPBD Kota Padang dalam meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan dan mitigasi banjir.

Abstract

The use of school websites has been widely discussed in previous studies; however, research that specifically focuses on the development of school information service systems that are collaboratively managed through a multi-user approach remains relatively limited. Common problems include inactive school websites, lack of sustainable management, and content management centralized in a single administrator, which hinder the effectiveness of information services. This study aimed to develop a web-based information service system at SMK Negeri 1 Padang that is capable of integrating school information management in a centralized, structured, and collaborative manner. The study employed a software engineering approach using a Research and Development (R&D) method with a Waterfall development model. Research participants included the administrative office, curriculum staff, teachers, the treasurer, and students, who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observations, structured and semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, then analyzed using qualitative descriptive and technical analysis. The results showed that the developed system was able to enhance the effectiveness of managing and delivering school information through the implementation of multi-user features, data integration, and the application of the Model–View–Controller architecture in the Laravel framework. These findings contribute to the development of educational information systems by emphasizing the importance of role-based access management in supporting schools’ digital transformation, while also providing a practical solution for improving transparency, accessibility, and the quality of information services for the wider community.

Abstract

The management of daily school activities plays an important role in supporting the effectiveness of educational processes; however, non-integrated data management can lead to inefficient administrative procedures and hinder information retrieval. This study aimed to evaluate user acceptance of a school daily activity management application using the User Acceptance Test (UAT) method, with a case study at SMP Negeri 2 Solok City. The evaluation was conducted by involving application users as respondents who completed a Likert-scale questionnaire, and the data were then analyzed to determine user acceptance levels by user category. The test results indicated very high levels of acceptance, with UAT scores of 97.6% for subject teachers, 96.4% for duty teachers, 99.1% for guidance and counseling teachers, 93.9% for homeroom teachers, 90.8% for students, and 94.5% for security staff. Overall, the application obtained an average score of 95.4% and was classified in the “very good” category. These findings show that the application is highly accepted by users and is perceived as capable of effectively and systematically supporting the management of daily school activities. The results of this study can serve as a reference for schools in improving the management of school activities and for application developers in further refining the system so that it becomes increasingly optimal in supporting school administration and daily activity management.

Abstract

The lack of centralized and accurate alumni data management systems remains a challenge for many vocational schools. This study aims to develop a web-based alumni information system for SMK Negeri 1 Koto XI Tarusan to streamline alumni data processing and improve post-graduation engagement. Using the Waterfall development model, the system was designed through sequential stages including requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The result is a role-based information system that includes separate dashboards for administrators, alumni, and alumni coordinators. The system allows secure login, data editing, event announcements, and alumni networking. The implementation demonstrates that a structured development model can effectively address institutional data management needs and enhance user interaction. However, future improvements are needed to support mobile access, analytics integration, and broader deployment across institutions. This system serves as a foundational step toward digital transformation in alumni management for vocational education institutions.

Abstract

This research aims to design and develop a dedicated website for managing Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) specializing in ornamental plants in the Agrotourism area of Lubuk Minturun. The website focuses on the needs of SMEs and ornamental plant buyers. The development method employed is the MVC (Model, View, Controller) architecture using the Waterfall approach to provide an organized development structure. The website offers services such as SMEs event schedules and facilities for buying and selling ornamental plant products. The successful provision of these services is expected to promote and support SMEs in ornamental plants in the area. The utilization of technologies such as the PHP programming language, Yii Framework, and MySQL database provides a solid technological foundation, ensuring the efficiency and scalability of the website. In conclusion, the design of this website not only establishes a platform for SMEs and brings positive benefits to the business development and promotion of ornamental plants in the Agrotourism area of Lubuk Minturun. With the proper technological support, it is anticipated that this website will enhance the competitiveness of SMEs and add value to stakeholders in the horticultural ornamental plant sector.

Abstract

This research focuses on developing an online platform for lesson scheduling and grade management at MAN 1 Padang using the Waterfall methodology. The platform adopts a structured Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture to optimize efficiency and modularity, ensuring easier updates and maintenance. By utilizing Laravel as the framework and MySQL as the database, the system offers robust performance and scalability. The platform facilitates various administrative tasks, including lesson scheduling, grading, and real-time report access for students and parents, enhancing transparency and engagement. Blackbox testing results show high functionality across key performance areas such as content clarity, interface usability, navigation, security, and system responsiveness. This development aims to address inefficiencies in manual scheduling and grading processes, providing a streamlined, automated solution that improves overall academic management at MAN 1 Padang. The system is expected to increase the institution’s operational efficiency, contribute to better learning outcomes, and foster stronger communication between the school, students, and parents.

Abstract

Manual attendance systems in educational institutions, particularly in highly disciplined environments such as vocational schools with cadet programs, present significant challenges, including inaccuracy, administrative burden, and susceptibility to fraud. This study addresses these issues by designing and developing a secure mobile attendance application for the Android platform. The development process followed the Waterfall software development model, providing a structured framework from requirements analysis through testing. The proposed solution incorporates a dual-validation mechanism combining Quick Response (QR) Codes for session-specific identification with Geolocation technology to verify users’ physical presence within the designated school area. The application supports multiple user roles, including students, teachers, administrators, and parents, and offers automated attendance tracking for daily roll calls and extracurricular activities. It enables teachers to input attendance for in-class sessions manually. Empirical evaluation confirmed that the application effectively mitigates vulnerabilities inherent in the manual system. The dual-validation approach substantially enhances both the integrity and efficiency of the attendance process, offering a reliable and secure tool for monitoring student discipline. This study provides a practical model for integrating accessible digital technologies to strengthen administrative processes in secondary education contexts.
