Abstract

The level of financial inclusion in Indonesia is 76,19%. It indicates that there are still many groups of people who have not received financial services. Economic empowerment and financial services at the micro level are easier and more accessible through microfinance institutions (MFIs). One of MFIs developed based on sharia principles is the Bank Wakaf Mikro (BWM). This study aims at improving the strategy for the role of BWM in financial inclusiveness and to support the economy from the MSME level. The method used is SWOT analysis by considering the internal and external factors that exist in BWM. The factors obtained through in-depth interviews with BWM leaders are processed quantitatively. The results show that BWM is still in the Stable Growth stage, because it has added value on weaknesses and opportunities. Strategies that can be implemented include collaborating with external agencies and simplifying regulations in BWM operations.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to analyze the disclosure of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Islamic banking for the 2018-2020 period using the Social Performance Indicators (SPI) index. The SPI index has a broader framework by adding aspects of religiosity as an assessment indicator. This was a descriptive qualitative-quantitative research.  It used the content analysis method combined with a weighting and ranking system which used the RDAP scale. The data in this study used secondary data obtained from the annual report of each Islamic banking. The sample of this research consisted of Bank Aceh Syariah, Bank NTB Syariah, Bank Mega Syariah, BTPN Syariah, BCA Syariah, BNI Syariah, and Bank Syariah Mandiri. This study used six indicators consisting of Religiosity, Environment, Society, Governance, Employees, and Clients. The results of this study indicate that Governance is the dimension most widely disclosed by Islamic banking with a score of 95.8%, while the Client dimension obtained the lowest score of 53.4%. CSR disclosure with the Islamic banking SPI index during the 2018-2020 period as a whole received a proactive predicate from the RDAP scale with a score of 85.6%. This research proves that the indicators used by the SPI index have covered the things that Islamic banks need to assess their social responsibility performance. Islamic banking is expected to contribute more to the client dimension while maintaining consistency in social responsibility in other dimensions. Abstract

McDonald's held the second position in the Top Brand Index for five consecutive years from 2015 to 2020 conducted by Frontier Consulting Group, with participation from customers in eight major cities in Indonesia, including Semarang city. McDonald's experienced a decline in customer loyalty, which poses a challenge for the restaurant to maintain its customer base and attract new customers. Therefore, this research aims to examine the factors that influence Muslim customers' loyalty to McDonald's. The study focuses on Muslim customers with McDonald's subscriptions in Semarang City, with a sample of 144 respondents. The analysis technique used was the Structural Equation Model-AMOS. The study reveals that halal labeling, product quality, and Muslim customer satisfaction have a significant effect on Muslim customer loyalty. The quality and price of the product have a significant effect on Muslim customer satisfaction. Muslim customer satisfaction as an intervening variable cannot mediate all variables on Muslim customer loyalty. Hence, producers should focus on products of al-tayyibat.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyze the actual portfolio of BPKH from the hajj fund investment and examine the optimization investment portfolio for BPKH based on PP No.5 Tahun 2018.Methodology – The data used in this study was quarterly in the form of price and coupon for Sukuk instruments and the equivalent of yield rate for Sharia deposits. This study uses the Markowitz Diversification method with the Tangency Portfolio model as a model to determine optimal portfolio. Findings – The result of this study showed that BPKH’s actual portfolios in 2018 and 2019 can’t be determined as efficient portfolios and the optimal portfolio. Meanwhile, BPKH’s actual portfolios in 2020 and 2021 are included as efficient portfolios but not optimal portfolio. The result of an optimal portfolio in this study has a composition as follows: 30% of Sharia deposits, 5,60% of SBSN, and 64,40% of SDHI.Implication – The finding of an optimal portfolio can recommend BPKH to allocate most of the hajj fund in SDHI than SBSN because the SBSN has high risk and still to allocate in Sharia deposits as worth maximum based on regulation in PP No.5 Tahun 2018. BPKH needs to diversify hajj fund investment wider such as Lembaga Tabung Haji (LTH) has done in Malaysia.Originality – This study contributes to evaluate of whether BPKH’s actual portfolios in the first third years since BPKH operation and after the first third years of BPKH operation are efficient and optimal or not. Furthermore, this study provides a combination of instruments in the scenario optimal portfolio.
