Walking as a physical activity played an important role in blood sugar level control and reducing urine resistance towards sugar for type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at productive age. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of walking as physical activity on the blood sugar level of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at productive age. The research used quasi- experimental design, one group pretest-posttest type, with Isaac and Michael formula for sampling technique. The total sample was 33 people. This reseach was conducted in March 2021. The result of this research showed that the average blood sugar level of the patients before walking treatment was 224,79mg/dl, and theiraverage blood sugar level after the treatment dropped to 165,42mg/dl. This study used a t – test significance level of 5%, and the result showed that t-count was 66.654 greather than t -table which was 1,69092, therefore the value of significance was less than 0,05. It means that there was an impact of walking on blood sugar level of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at productive age in Kesamben Kulon Health Center. The conclusion was that walking activity can be used to reduce blood sugar level of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at productive age.

Abstract

The incidence of hypertension in the productive age group in Indonesia is increasing. Treatment of hypertension in all age groups is generally carried out over a long period of time and is sustainable in addition to a regular diet and physical activity program. Many factors affect patient compliance in undergoing a hypertension diet, including motivation. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of motivation on dietary compliance of hypertensive patients of productive age at the Krian Sidoarjo Health Center. This study used a cross sectional approach with a sample of 94 hypertensive patients of productive age (15-59 years) who visited the Krian Health Center. Samples were selected using simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and then analyzed using the Logistic Regression test. The results showed that self-motivation, the most dominant was poor with a frequency of 56 with a percentage of 59.6%, and good at 38 with a percentage of 40.4%. Self-motivation proved to be the most significant factor affecting dietary adherence, with a p value of 0.000 and an OR value of 20.56. Self-motivation is a predictor in dietary adherence in patients with hypertension. The higher the motivation, the higher the patient's dietary adherence. Therefore, more effective interventions may need to combine increased self-motivation with more appropriate education and integrated support from various sources.

Abstract

Background of study: Delay time in arrival of ischemic stroke patients to the hospital is a special concern because the "golden period" for receiving thrombolysis therapy is missed.Aims and scope of paper: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between knowledge, residence status, distance of residence and use of ambulances with delays time in arrival of ischemic stroke patients. Methods: The design of this study was correlational analytic with a cross-sectional design. The total population was 79 ischemic stroke patients in May 2025. The number of samples was 66 patients taken using the simple random sampling technique. Data collection using questionnaires, data analysis using the Spearman test.Result: The results of the study based on the Spearman statistical test with a significance level = 0.05, obtained the results that there was a relationship between the knowledge factor and delays time in arrival (0.001 <0.05), there was a relationship between the residence status factor and delays time  in arrival (0.001 <0.05), there was a relationship between the ambulance use factor and delays time in arrival (0.002 <0.05) and there was no relationship between distance of residence factor and delays time in arrival (0.160>0.05).Conclusion: There are many factors that cause delays time in the arrival of ischemic stroke patients. The researcher hopes that further researchers can continue research on factors that influence the delay time in arrival of ischemic stroke patients so that they can find the right solution to overcome the problem of late arrival of ischemic stroke patients.

Abstract

Acid-fast bacilli (AFB) smear testing in TB patients plays an important role in diagnosis and is crucial to the success of TB control. Many factors influence compliance with AFB smear testing. The aim of this study was to analyze knowledge of AFB testing as a predictor of TB patient compliance with AFB testing at Bhayangkara HS Samsoeri Mertojoso Hospital in Surabaya. This study used a cross-sectional design from March to May 2025 with a sample of 85 TB patients selected by simple random sampling according to inclusion criteria. Data were collected using a questionnaire and then analyzed using logistic regression. The results of the study explain that the majority of respondents were of productive age, worked as private employees, lived <10 km from health facilities, had a high school education, and had good knowledge about BTA. Knowledge had a significant effect on compliance (P value = 0.000; R2 = 0.389 and PR = 9.249). Patients with good knowledge were 9.249 times more likely to comply with BTA examinations. Respondent compliance was high but not optimal in terms of the timeliness of examinations and retests after treatment. Patients' technical understanding of the function of sputum smear microscopy is still lacking, affecting their perception of compliance. These findings are consistent with the Health Belief Model and Social Support Theory, emphasizing that education, access, and family support integrated into patient support strategies can improve compliance. TB control efforts require contextual education, family involvement, and continuous monitoring to ensure that sputum smear microscopy is performed on time and completely.
