Abstract. Ethnomatematics is a habit and customs in a community group and there is a mathematical concept without being realized by the community. This research was conducted in Alasmalang village, especially Krajan Singojuruh Banyuwangi hamlet. The purpose of this study is to describe the ethnomatematics of Alasmalang kebo-keboan traditional ceremony which will then be developed into a worksheet for students. This student worksheet is equipped with a collection of questions that enhance creativity and teamwork called Escape Sheet. This research includes the type of qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. This research takes the object in the form of traditional ceremonies for kebo-keboan and its speakers, namely the Chair of Customary Institutions and Buldrah. Data collection is done with 3 methods, namely observation, documentation and interviews. The results of data collection were analyzed and presented descriptively. The results of the research that have been presented show the existence of mathematical concepts such as 2d figure,, similarity and congruence. In addition, the results also show the possibility of ethnomatematics that has been found to be developed into a collection of questions in the form of Escape Sheet. Abstract. Algebraic thinking is a process of solving mathematical problems in which uses letters (variables) and perform deeper activity such as problem identifications, represent information symbolically, make mathematic model, as well as interpret and applying mathematic findings. This research was conducted to describe how algebraic thinking process of Junior High School student based on gender and math ability. The subject of research was divided into two of student with high math ability, two student with mid math ability and two student with low math ability in mathematical problem solving of linier equation system of two variable for C5 and C6 problems category where in each category consist of boy and girl. The result shows for C5 and C6 problems, student with high and mid math ability both boys and girls were capable of algebraic thinking in every steps of problem solving. Student with low math ability, the boy was capable of algebraic thinking in every steps of problem solving for C5 and C6 problems. Whereas the girl capable of algebraic thinking in every steps, but for C6 problem category, the girl was only able to perform two algebraic thinking activity in problem solving. This study aims to describe the profile of problem solving students based on the Polya stages in terms of cognitive style. The problem solving profile is a general description or description of the activities of solving mathematical problems carried out by students using previously acquired knowledge. The description is related to the psychological cognitive style possessed by students. Psychological cognitive style is divided into 2, namely the independent and field dependent cognitive style fields. Analysis of students' answers in the problem of the Two Variable Linear Equation System based on the 4 stages of the Polya consists of understanding the problem, making a plan of completion, implementing the completion plan and checking again. The instruments used were GEFT test, problem solving test, Two Variable Linear Equation System, and interview. The subjects of the study were 6 VIIIE class students at Genteng 2 Public Middle School. In general, field independent students are better at solving problems than field dependent students. Keywords: Cognitive Style, Problem Solving, Polya Stage, Profile.

Abstract. The purpose of this research is to describe the writing mathematical communication skills of mild mental retardation students at Jember State SMALB-C solved the problem of addition and subtraction of algebra using algebra paper learning media. The subject used are two students of class x mild mental retardation. Data collection are observation, test and interviews. Observation was carried out during the delivery of the addition and subtraction material of algebra and introducing learning media and giving practice questions. The question of test is algebra addition and subtraction as much as three reserved description and interview to each subject. The result of this research shows that subject has fulfilled of the indicators of NCTM's mathematical communication skills except sub indicator c in question number 2, because the student did not explain the algebra paper learning media attached to the answer sheet and do not write conclusions. In interview, the subject stated that using algebra paper learning media can help and simplify the problem of completing the addition and subtraction of algebra. The problem-solving profile is a general description of the activities of solving mathematical problems carried out by students using the five stages of IDEAL model problem solving namely identifying problems, defining problems, finding solutions, implementing strategies, and reviewing and evaluating their effects. This becomes interesting when it is associated with mathematical abilities. This study aims to describe the profile of students with high mathematical ability in solving questions about the subject of Social Arithmetic. This type of research is qualitative research. Students with high mathematical ability were given two problem-solving test questions, then interviews were conducted to find out more in the process of solving them. The results obtained are students with high mathematical ability able to meet all the indicators of each stage of solving the IDEAL model. This can be seen from the results of the work provided and interviews conducted by researchers against these students.

Abstract. The purpose of this research is to analyze student’s errors based on Watson's criteria reviewed from gender. From the results, it can be known the types of student errors, the percentage, and the causes of student’s errors that occur. The research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was done by test and interview. The test are given to the students to find out the types of errors that occur when they complete it. The interview with subjects is done to find out the reason why they did error in completing the test. Subject in this research are 10 students in class VIII C of Junior High School 8 Jember. Five male students and female students. Based on the result of this research, the male students are disposed to do an error omitted data with 13,33%, 13,33% response level conflict, and 16,67% above other. The female students are disposed to do an error omitted conclusion with 24,14%. Keywords: error analysis, Watson’s criteria, function, gender

Ethnomatematics is the application of mathematics in cultural life. The purpose of this study was to describe ethnomatematics of making woven bamboo handicrafts in the village of Gintangan Banyuwangi. The things obtained in this study were changed in the form of geometric teaching materials, namely the Test Problem Package with the topic of Ethnomatematics. This type of research is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection methods used are observation and interviews. The subjects of the study were 2 people, namely a foreman making woven bamboo crafts, kukusan, ereg, tenong, and nyiru and a maker of bamboo woven kukusan, ereg, tenong, and nyiru. Ethnomatematics emerged when the woven craftsmen carried out activities to measure, calculate and design. When the process of measuring the thickness of the bamboo sharpener comes the measurement concept using meters (m). During the process of calculating the drying time of bamboo and the amount of bamboo sharpener a comparative concept of value appears. During the design process, the concept of quadrilateral and number sequences emerged. The results of the study are geometry teaching materials in the form of a test test package. The question test package is intended for class VIII middle school students. This Question Test Package consists of 4 C5 and 1 C6 questions Keywords: Ethnomatematics, Bamboo Woven Crafts, Geometry

This research describes about the critical thinking ability of SMP Negeri 4 Jember students in solving social arithmetic problem. Data collection methods which were used are tests, observations, and interviews. The research subjects consist of 3 students where one student in the category of high mathematical logic intelligence, one student in the category of medium mathematical logic intelligence, and one student in the category of low mathematical logic intelligence. In LSLC-based learning, students in the category of high mathematical logic intelligence included in TKBK 4 were very critical, students in the category of medium mathematical logic intelligence included in TKBK 2 were quite critical, and students in the category of low mathematical logic intelligence included in TKBK 0 were not critical. In the critical thinking ability test, students in the category of high mathematical logic intelligence included in TKBK 4 were very critical, students in the category of medium mathematical logic intelligence were included in TKBK 3 were critical, and students in the category of low mathematical logic intelligence included in TKBK 2 were quite critical. The higher the category of mathematical logic intelligence by the subject then the higher student’s critical thinking ability. Ethnomatematics is the application of mathematics in cultural life. The purpose of this study was to describe the ethnomatematic activity of the Jejer Jaran Dawuk Banyuwangi dance in Sanggar Jingga Putih Banyuwangi. The product produced in this study is in the form of geometric teaching materials, namely the test problem Package with the topic of Ethnomatematics. This type of research is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection methods used are observation and interviews. The research subjects were 3 peoples Banyuwangi Culture, dance teacher, and dancer Jejer Jaran Dawuk Banyuwangi. Ethnomatematics is seen when dancers dance a dance to measure, calculate, and design activities. At the time of the process of determining the time to start the dance and the time of change of movement appeared the concept of counting. When determining the distance between dancers, the concept of measuring distance using nonstandard size appears. When performing dance moves and floor patterns, the concept of designing lines, angles, and waking up appears flat. The results of the study are geometry teaching materials in the form of test packages. The test package is intended for junior high school students of class IX. This study was purposed to describe the students’ spatial visual ability in solving PISA standard math questions in Shape and Space content viewed from van Hiele's level of geometrical thinking. The research participants were 7 students who fulfilled each level of van Hiele's geometrical thinking starting from level 0 to level 3 in class XI IA 4 Glagah 1 Public Senior High School. Data collection methods were test and interviews. Based on data analysis, the results of the study show that students who are on level 3 van Hiele geometry levels, on levels between 2-3, and level 2 meet all characteristics of visual abilities. Meanwhile, students who are on levels between 1-2, level 1, levels between 0-1, and level 0 do not all meet the characteristics of spatial visual abilities. Characteristics of students' spatial visual abilities in imagination are the most dominant characteristics (most fulfilled) among the others, while the use of concepts (conceptualization) and using several ideas to find new ways are the most difficult characteristics to fulfill.
