Abstract

The need for learning innovation is indispensable as a result of the development of the 21st century. In the 21st century learning there is a shift in student-centered learning from teacher-centered learning including physics learning. Physics learning requires innovation by not only doing learning activities in the classroom. Learning that is always done in class will make students become bored. Innovation of learning activities can be done in the laboratory as an appropriate alternative compared to conventional learning in the classroom. On the other hand in learning physics the skills that students must possess are skills in verbal, graphic and mathematical representations (R-VGM). Meaningful Investigation Laboratory (MIL) Learning Model is a 21st century learning innovation. The 21st century learning model has precondition, investigation, report, and reinforcement syntactic. In the first syntax, precondition, the R-VGM skill is developed from the opening question of physical phenomena. In the second syntax, namely investigation, R-VGM skills can be developed from scientific inquiry. In the third syntactic report, R-VGM skills can be developed from reporting the results of scientific investigations in and group discussions. In the fourth syntax, namely reinforcement, R-VGM skills can be developed from the matter of reinforcement. And in the fifth syntactic, reflection, R-VGM skills can be developed from the connection and reinforcement of the learning completed.

Abstract

Students are required to solve problems, analyze ideas, to implement the knowledge they learn so that learning becomes active. Without the teacher's direction and guidance, students cannot learn independently and cannot be guided towards the best learning process. Optimizing the learning and teaching process and making students' skills in the science process improve requires developments in learning models. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the guided inquiry learning model in increasing students' learning motivation and skills in the science process through literature studies by examining some data from previous research articles both at national and international levels. The research method used is theoretical study. The results of the theoretical review (literature review) based on articles 1-8 can be concluded that the application of the guided inquiry learning model can increase student learning interest. According to the average results that have been obtained, the learning motivation of students will increase when given the guided inquiry learning model. Based on the well-known descriptions of articles 1 to 16, it can be seen that the guided inquiry learning model can successfully boost students' learning desires. The conclusion from the analysis of the effectiveness of the guided inquiry learning model on learning motivation and helping students to improve their science process skills. The inquiry learning process is able to develop students' intellectual abilities as well as in solving problems.

Abstract

Abstract

Silo District, Jember Regency is an area with a mountainous topography dominated by relatively steep slopes. Many landslides occurred in the Silo District area. Based on the results of observations, in 2022 to July there have been 8 landslides in the Silo District area. Landslide disasters can be minimized by mapping landslide-prone areas. The mapping method used is a weighted overlay method for each parameter. The landslide parameters used in this study are: parameters of soil depth, rainfall, slope, soil type and land use. The final results of data processing for each parameter in this study will produce a map of landslide-prone areas in Silo District, Jember Regency. . Based on the research results, the landslide vulnerability classes are grouped into four classifications, namely low, medium, high and very high. The results showed that the Silo District was an area with high vulnerability (54%), medium vulnerability (37%), very high vulnerability (9%) and low vulnerability (1%). Mulyorejo Village is the village with the widest very high vulnerability classification in Silo District.

Abstract

Mount Merapi is the highest volcano in Indonesia with an altitude of 2978 meters above sea level. Administratively, Mount Merapi is located in Magelang Regency, Central Java Province. The study was conducted related to the separation of regional anomalies and residual anomalies using gravity data for the case of Mount Merapi. This research was conducted with the aim of being able to interpret the subsurface structure at the location around the measurement. The second-order polynomial method is used in this study in addition to the separation of the Bouguer anomaly. The results of data processing obtained obtained very low anomaly results, which illustrates the presence of molten magma in the measurement area. In addition, there is a very high anomaly value which describes the presence of eruptive material originating from Mount Merapi.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the high number of people in Watulimo Subdistrict, Trenggalek Regency, who have undertaken international migration. They mostly stay abroad not just for one or two years but for years. This study analyzes the distribution of international migration based on the push and pull factors of migration. This research was conducted in Watulimo District, Trenggalek Regency using quantitative research methods type hypotheses or explanatory research. The data analysis was carried out using the logit method (binary logistic regression). The results show that the distribution of international migration in Watulimo District is spread over twelve villages, with the most significant driving factors being land ownership and the pull factors. The pull factors contain income and the desired job opportunities in the destination area, as evidenced by the significant value of land ownership is 0.045, the income is 0.000, and the presence of desired jobs in the destination area, with a significant value of 0.005. Those factors have a lower than 0.05 significant value, suggesting their significant influences on international migration.

Abstract

Flood is one of the most frequent hydrometeorological disasters which leads in economic losses. The first step in flood disaster mitigation efforts is mapping vulnerable areas. Kencong District frequently affected by the annual flooding event. This study aims to assess flood hazard mapping by integrating the AHP method and Geographic Information System. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach through the correlation matrix of the AHP model for each physical environmental factor. These factors include slope, altitude, distance from the river, soil type, Topographic Wetness Index (TWI), and Curvature. Furthermore, with the Geographic Information System (GIS), the weighted overlay stage was carried out to obtain the results of flood-prone areas. Based on the AHP analysis, the most significant factors in determining flood-prone areas were the distance from rivers, slopes, and TWI. The results of flood-prone areas mapping were divided into five classes: from deficient 0.02%, low 4.26%, medium 37.11%, high 51.89%, and very high 6.72%. Validation of GIS mapping results with data in the field has an AUC value of 84%, which indicates that the prediction of the AHP-GIS model is perfect in flood-prone areas mapping in the Kencong District. The integration of AHP method and Geographic Information System in flood hazard assessment were able to produce a model to evaluate the spatial distribution of flood-prone areas.
