Abstract

The goal of this research is to find out whether input enhancement technique is effective in improving students’ direct and indirect speech mastery in news item text. This research is quantitative experimental research with pretest and posttest control group design. The data of this research is the students’ direct and indirect speech mastery in new item text. The data collection technique is by administering tests, using pretest-posttest design. The data analysis technique uses t-test formula. The result indicates that there was no difference between control and experimental group in initial abiity before the input-enchancemen-technique was treated. Whereas by using input enhancement technique there was significant difference between students taught direct and indirect speech mastery using input enhancement technique and those taught direct and indirect speech mastery in news item text without using input enhancement technique. Thus, it could be concluded that the use of input enhancement technique was effective in improving students’ direct and indirect speech mastery in news item text. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan teknik peningkatan input efektif dapat meningkatkan penguasaan tuturan siswa secara langsung dan tidak langsung pada teks item berita. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental kuantitatif dengan desain control group pretest and posttest. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah penguasaan tuturan langsung dan tidak langsung siswa pada teks item berita. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan pemberian tes, pretest dan posttest. Teknik analisis data menggunakan rumus uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen dalam hal kemampuan awal sebelum dilakukan perlakuan teknik input-enhancemen. Sedangkan dengan menggunakan teknik peningkatan input terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa dalam hal penguasaan tuturan langsung dan tidak langsung menggunakan teknik peningkatan input dengan hasil belajar siswa dalam hal penguasaan tuturan langsung dan tidak langsung dalam teks item berita tanpa menggunakan teknik peningkatan input. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan teknik peningkatan input efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan tuturan siswa secara langsung dan tidak langsung pada teks item berita.

Abstract

Writing is not always easy to do. Students face some difficulties in mastering writing skills because they need particular practices to develop their writing skills. A teacher should understand students’ abilities and difficulties and one of many ways a teacher can do is by analyzing students’ compositions like generic structures and language features of analytical exposition texts. These may make students find some difficulties in writing analytical exposition texts. This study is a descriptive qualitative study and aims to describe the students’ competence in writing expository text. The researcher is the first instrument and the second instrument for this study is the students’ compositions of analytical exposition texts. To analyze the data, there will be three steps; classification, analysis, and representing to determine whether the students write analytical exposition texts with proper generic structures and language features or not. The researcher found that the students could write analytical exposition texts with good generic structures and language features. However, there are some students who did not compose them properly. For generic structures, some students often did not write a review of arguments in the thesis and reiteration. And for language features, some of the students often did not apply the diction well. The students were proficient enough in organizing analytical exposition text in terms of generic structures and language features. The teacher should give a clear explanation and understanding in teaching analytical exposition text. The teacher had to explain how to make analytical exposition text deeply in order that the students could comprehend the text well. In addition, the English teacher could give comments to the students’ composition for the better next writing assignments, because they could understand their mistakes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Net profit margin (NPM) and earnings per share (EPS), gross domestic product (PDB) and inflation on share prices of companies listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) during 2014-2018, both partially and simultaneously. The population in this study are all companies that are consistently listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index for 5 periods. The samples in this study were 15 companies obtained by purposive sampling technique. Analysis of the data used is panel data analysis. The results showed that the NPM variable partially had a significant effect on stock prices, while EPS, GDP and inflation had no significant effect. Simultaneously the variables NPM, EPS, GDP and inflation affect stock prices.

Abstract

In 21st century, a huge change happens in which students prefer to learn by using digital technology. Some interesting digital technology devices are expected to apply by the teachers in the process of teaching and learning. One of the technologies that can be used in teaching activities is digital storytelling. The teachers can combine both personal narratives and the use of technology in their English classes. Thus, this study was conducted to describe the implementation of digital storytelling, the students’ responses to the use of digital, and the students’ digital storytelling works after implementing the media in the teaching and learning process. The design of this research was a descriptive qualitative. The researcher used Field notes, students’ digital storytelling, and interview as instruments of collecting data. The researcher used data condensation, data display, and drawing conclusion to analyze the data. From Some findings of this study, the media can be considered as very attractive. They are eager to speak English during the process of video production. The media has significant role to decrease the students’ anxiety in speaking. It has empowered them to make the digital storytelling video either inside or outside the classroom. At last, the students’ ability is varied. The speaking criteria from O’Malley and Pierce’s scoring rubric is not reached by all students.

Abstract

Many teachers fail to create a creative learning activity based on the children’s characteristics. In fact, many of today’s elementary schools are equipped with modern technology facilities that can encourage the children’s motivation in vocabulary learning. Unfortunately, the facilities are still used monotonously in learning activity. This invariable learning activity may cause boredom for young learners. One of the ways to solve the problem is by developing a suitable teaching aid to increase vocabulary learning quality for young learners; it is the electronic Snakes and Ladders game. Therefore, this study aims to develop the conventional format of Snakes and Ladders game into electronic format for the teaching of English vocabulary to the second graders and to investigate the students’ responses toward the game developed. The results in revision I and revision II shows that there are some revisions made dealing with the features and content during the development of the game. While the content is revised by adding more questions amount and variation. Overall the material used and the features exposed in electronic Snakes and Ladders game are appropriate with the second graders characteristics and learning objective. Furthermore, the students show positive response toward the electronic Snakes and Ladders game.

Abstract

Purpose - The study aims to observe the students ' skills in reading text with the instrument asking and writing the summary results read the text. Design/methodology/approach - To explain the process and the result of students’ writing wrote everything they saw in the class in field notes. Natural design and the phenomenon (descriptive qualitative) were also noted in the field note helping to analyze the data easily. The participants of this study were from mechanical engineering students, 53 students. Findings - The result showed many students could answer the question given and write a summary of the text having been read. Originality/value - Although this research is conducted at the university, the teachers, tutors, and parents to familiarize students or children with questions from the beginning six questions using WH-question mark. This is to train you to ask critically later when you become older. Because actually, the basic question with the WH-question mark is, directing students to take philosophical views. Abstract

The village fund provides a very important position for the village to carry out development and community empowerment programs. These include programs for the welfare of the community. Village funds have an important role in improving the economy of rural communities, with effective and efficient use and allocation. This study uses field research with descriptive research methods, the methods used in this study are: observation, structured interviews, and documentation. After the researchers have collected data, the next step is to do the data analysis. The analysis conducted by researchers uses two ways, namely processing the initial data and classifying it and then the next stage of the data will be analyzed. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the management of village funds in the village of Kemiri has been running in accordance with existing technical guidelines, so that the development in the village of Kemiri from the existence of village funds has brought considerable changes starting from improving infrastructure facilities, educational advice, health facilities etc. but in the field of empowerment in the village of Kemiri is still not optimal this is due to the lack of community participation in the management of village funds. In the field of development and empowerment, the community is only involved in planning and implementation, but in terms of accountability and evaluation of the community village fund program, it has not been directly involved.

Abstract

This study aims to rationalize the Aswaja-based Islamic education strategy to counter radicalism. This research method uses literature by analyzing published, unpublished books, journals and research that are in line with the theme of moderate Islamic education through NU-an Aswaja. The results of this study are that NU implements an educational education commanded by LP Maarif NU and principled on al muhafadhotu ala al qodimi as sholih wal akhdu bil jadidi al aslah to aim at forming humans who are rahmatan lin naturalin. In learning the values that are strengthened and internalized are tawazun (balanced), tawassuh (moderate), i`tidal (fair and heartless) and tasammuh (tolerance).

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui dan menguraikan adakah pengaruh budaya organisasi, lingkungan kerja dan disiplin kerja terhadapkinerja karyawan di PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN). Penelitian ini menggunakan uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, analisisstatistic deskriptif, uji normalitas, uji multikolinearitas, uji heteroskedastisitas, uji multilinear regresi, uji koefisien determinasi, uji f dan uji t denganbantuan program olah data SPSS 20.0. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 125 responden. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metodeteknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuesioner menggunakan skala Likert untuk mengukur setiap indikatoritem pernyataan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budaya organisasi, lingkungan kerja, dan disiplin kerja berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Kata kunci: budaya organisasi, lingkungan kerja, disiplin kerja, kinerja karyawan.

Abstract

In the digital age, every consumer will select online sales because it is the thing that people are currently most interested in, as it can be accessible from anywhere and at any time as long as they have an internet connection. Customers benefit from the convenience of online shopping because they do not have to travel to the business location to pick up their purchases. In reality, the marketing processes of most micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) continue to rely on manual transaction processing mechanisms for direct purchases and on conventional transaction recording methods. Implementing an e-commerce information system for MSMEs so that it is easier for MSMEs and customers to conduct online transactions and MSMEs can adapt to the digital era is a research objective aimed at addressing the inadequacy of MSMEs in adapting to information technology. The results of the study indicate that the system features in e-commerce are adapted to the analysis of user needs, i.e., there are product features, ordering features, transaction detail features, and report features that facilitate product purchase transactions through the e-commerce system so that there are superior features of the system to improve quality MSME services and maintain customer loyalty in order to conduct online transactions. Blackbox testing was conducted for five system functionality testing scenarios throughout the system testing phase, with the result that the entire system performed as expected and in compliance with user requirements.
