Abstract

Mathematics is a foundational subject essential for the advancement of technology and various scientific disciplines. This study aims to enhance the mathematics learning outcomes of class XI-C students at SMA Muhammadiyah Batudaa through the use of circle board learning media. Conducted as classroom action research during the 2023/2024 academic year, the study involved 28 students from class XI-C. Data collection methods included tests and observations, utilizing essay tests and observation sheets to assess teacher and student activities. The findings reveal that implementing circle board learning media significantly improved student learning outcomes on circle tangent material. Observations showed notable increases in teacher activity: from 70% to 95% in preliminary activities, 69,4% to 97,2% in core activities, and 68,7% to 93,7% in closing activities. Similarly, student activity observations improved from 75% to 90% in preliminary activities, 67,8% to 92,8% in core activities, and 58,3% to 91,6% in closing activities. These results demonstrate that the use of circle board learning media effectively enhances students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study focuses on enhancing the competency of primary school teachers in integrating numeracy into learning activities across subjects. Numeracy literacy is a vital 21st-century skill essential for personal and professional decision-making. The training, conducted as part of a community service program, aimed to provide teachers with practical strategies for integrating numeracy into both mathematics and non-mathematics lessons. The methods involved workshops featuring lectures, discussions, and interactive group activities, emphasizing the development of teaching materials that connect numeracy to real-world applications. Evaluation through questionnaires revealed high participant satisfaction, with 87.5% rating the training as excellent. The findings underscore the significance of teacher competence in advancing student numeracy skills and highlight the need for continued professional development in this area

Abstract

It is important for schools to improve students' mathematical communication. However, a preliminary study at Public Middle School 1 Bulango Selatan revealed that some students still struggle to solve problems given by the teacher, particularly those related to determining the length of a side of a flat shape, especially in the context of congruence and similarity. Therefore, the intent of this study was to determine the effect of the flipped classroom learning model assisted by Instagram on students' mathematical communication at Public Middle School 1 Bulango Selatan. The method used in this study was an experimental method consisting of an experimental class and a control class with a research design used, namely a post-test-only group design. We conducted a t-test data analysis on both the experimental and control classes. The findings of the study showed that the t-count was greater than the t-table value; specifically, the t-count was 2.083, which is greater than 2.042, leading to the rejection of H0. Thereby, it can be concluded that learning using the flipped classroom learning model on the material of congruence and similarity of flat shapes can affect students' mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of utilizing innovative teaching models to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes. One such model is the Flipped Classroom, supported by interactive media like Canva. The purpose of this study is to determine the difference in mathematics learning outcomes between students taught using the Flipped Classroom model assisted by Canva interactive media and those taught using the direct instruction model with the same media. The research method used is experimental, employing a Post-test only control group design. Cluster random sampling was used for sampling. The instrument used was a learning outcome test in the form of an essay (post-test). Hypothesis testing was conducted using a t-test, which resulted in a t_calculated value of 2.59, while the t_table value with 60 degrees of freedom at a 0.05 significance level was lower. By comparing these values, the null hypothesis was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Additionally, the calculation of the effect size using Cohen’s d formula yielded a value of 0.66, indicating a medium effect. In conclusion, the use of the Flipped Classroom model assisted by Canva interactive media not only resulted in a statistically significant difference but also had a moderate practical effect on improving students' mathematics learning outcomes.
