Abstract

This study examines the relationship between financial knowledge and attitudes towards finance with individual financial behavior within the framework of the Lacanian perspective. The research defines financial knowledge as the symbolic dimension of an individual's mind encompassing concepts of finance, investment, and debt management. Attitudes towards finance are described as the imaginative aspect of an individual's personality involving views, preferences, and emotions related to money and financial management. Utilizing a statistical analysis approach, the study uncovers a significant correlation between financial knowledge, attitudes towards finance, and financial behavior. However, the research outcomes must be interpreted cautiously due to potential confirmation bias and heuristic effects in data interpretation. Managerial implications of this study involve the development of financial education programs aimed at shaping prudent and responsible financial behavior.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between perception of politics, job stress, job satisfaction, negligent behavior, turnover intention, and self-reported absenteeism in the work environment. The analysis results show that politics significantly affects job stress and satisfaction, whereas a positive political perception can reduce and increase job satisfaction. Job stress was found to hurt job satisfaction, which ultimately increased negligent behavior in the workplace. Additionally, job satisfaction is vital in reducing negligent behavior and self-reported absenteeism, underscoring the importance of organizational efforts in improving employee satisfaction. In contrast, turnover intention did not significantly correlate with negligent behavior or self-reported absenteeism, suggesting other factors may influence this intention. These findings emphasize the importance of building a positive political perception in the workplace, managing job stress, and increasing job satisfaction to create a more productive and conducive work environment. The study also shows that some relationships between variables are not always significant, so more research is needed to understand more complex interactions in the work environment.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the effects of inflation, the money supply (MS), interest rates, and GDP on the velocity of money. A correlational method was used in this study. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed as the data analysis technique. The conclusions of this study are: 1. Inflation, when considered in isolation, does not have a significant effect on the velocity of money; 2. The money supply, when considered in isolation, has a significant and negative effect on the velocity of money; 3. The Bank of Indonesia’s benchmark interest rate (BI Rate) does not have a significant isolated effect on the velocity of money; 4. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) does not have a significant partial effect on the velocity of money. To improve the quality and capacity of the velocity of money through inflation, the money supply (MS), interest rates, and Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the following steps need to be taken: 1. The government and Bank Indonesia need to focus more on optimally controlling the money supply. Monetary policy should be directed toward maintaining a balance between adequate liquidity and the efficiency of money circulation; 2. Strengthening the infrastructure of digital payment systems and financial inclusion is crucial for promoting healthy and efficient money circulation; 3. Bank Indonesia needs to improve the effectiveness of the transmission of the BI Rate to the real sector. This can be achieved by strengthening the banking sector, deepening financial markets, and improving financial literacy so that the public and businesses are more responsive to changes in interest rates; 4. The government must not only pursue quantitative GDP growth but also its quality. Growth based on productivity and inclusive economic activities will have greater potential to increase transaction frequency and the velocity of money; 5. Inflation stability is crucial for maintaining economic expectations. Consistent inflation control policies will create certainty, thereby making economic behavior more rational and supporting efficient money circulation in the long term.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of stress on the mental health of Generation Z workers in Sumatera Utara and Aceh Provinces, as well as to examine the role of vigor at work as a mediating variable and compare the results across the two provinces. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 544 Generation Z worker respondents in both provinces. The results were tested using SPSS software and statistically analyzed using path analysis and the Sobel test to examine the direct and indirect effects between variables and the mediating role of vigor at work. The results showed that in Sumatera Utara Province, stress had a direct negative effect on mental health (β = –0.165) and on vigor at work (β = –0.179), while vigor at work had a positive effect on mental health (β = 0.698). The indirect effect of stress on mental health through vigor at work was –0.125, bringing the total effect of stress on mental health to –0.290. The Sobel test yielded a Z value of –2.93 > 1.96 in absolute terms, indicating that vigor at work significantly mediates the relationship between stress and mental health in Sumatera Utara Province. In Aceh Province, the study showed that stress had no significant effect on mental health (β = –0.066) or vigor at work (β = –0.064), while vigor at work remained positive on mental health (β = 0.701). The indirect effect of stress on mental health through vigor at work was –0.044, with a total effect of –0.110. The Sobel test yielded a Z value of –1.06 < 1.96 in absolute terms, indicating that vigor at work did not significantly mediate the relationship between stress and mental health in Aceh Province.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of behavioral control, cognitive control, and decisional control on cyberloafing behavior among Civil Servants (PNS) in Nagan Raya Regency, Indonesia. Although previous studies have investigated the relationship between self-control and cyberloafing, limited research has specifically examined the roles of behavioral control, cognitive control, and decisional control as the primary dimensions of self-control within the public sector. This research employs a quantitative explanatory approach using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The study involved 169 Civil Servants from several government agencies in Nagan Raya Regency, with data collected through questionnaire distribution. The results indicate that behavioral control, cognitive control, and decisional control each have a significant negative effect on cyberloafing behavior. Among the three dimensions, decisional control demonstrates the strongest influence in reducing cyberloafing behavior. Furthermore, the structural model explains 73.8% of the variance in cyberloafing behavior, indicating that self-control dimensions play a substantial role in minimizing employees' non-work-related internet use during working hours. The findings support the Self-Regulation Theory by confirming that stronger self-control enables individuals to regulate their behavior, maintain work focus, and avoid counterproductive work behaviors such as cyberloafing. Practically, this study highlights the importance of strengthening employees' self-control through organizational policies, discipline development, and self-regulation training to improve work productivity and public service performance.
