Abstract

Background: Studies explored about mental health prevention activities in prisons were limited to be found. Objective: This study aims to describe mental health prevention activities in prisons in Central Java. Method: This study is a single exploratory case study consisting of three participants who were selected through purposive sampling. Participants are correctional nurses who are involved in mental health care in prisons with a minimum education of Nursing Diploma. The data was collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis with an inductive approach. This study shows that there are various mental health prevention activities provided in each of three prisons in Central Java. Result: Three themes are discussed: 1) mental health assessment, 2) mental health education, and 3) mental health therapies. Conclusion: Mental health assessment consists of mental health screening to the new inmates and mental health observation. Mental health education is provided by giving education which is integrated to physical education and teaching relaxation and how to rebuke. Mental health therapies provided consists of recreational activities, group activity therapy, spiritual guidance, collaboration in providing medication, and diversion of hallucination. Therefore, correctional nurses need to improve their knowledge and skills in providing of mental health prevention activities in prisons.

Abstract

Introduction: The learning process of nursing students faced complexity problems, particularly in community health nursing course. There is no latest information technology application that addresses are impacted to the educational problems of undergraduate and professional nursing program. An unclearly visualization of the data assessment of community nursing care provide distresses for lecturer and nursing student. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) provide a detail visualization that related to health problems in the community. This study aims to provide a visualization about the development of  GIS that may become an alternative learning for nursing students.Methods: This article describes the part of action research process. Five nursing students and two lecturers of community health nursing were recruited. The data collection was conducted by interview and observation for data assessment in the first step of development of GIS application.Results: There were four steps of making of GIS application, which is divided into four steps, including need analyzing, application design planning, the diagram of data flow, and application description.Conclusion: The GIS has benefit for learning process, some policies are necessary to mediate the development and application of GIS for nursing students in community health nursing course.

Abstract

Introduction: The number of diabetes mellitus sufferers with diabetic ulcus continues to increase. Wound care using conventional methods is no longer effective. Selection of the right wound care can effectively improve wound healing and reduce the financial burden on serving the clientst. The aim of this literature review was to explore the efficacy of wound healing with modern wound care management in diabetic ulcers. Methods: A literature search using the Google Scholar database, Springer Link, Clinical Key, Pubmed and Proquest found 20 journal articles that match the criteria. Results: The majority of research results show the effectiveness of using modern clothing to heal diabetic wounds. Conclusion: Modern wound care dressings with the addition of complementary therapies have shown a more significant effect in accelerating diabetic wound healing.

Abstract

Background: Fear of contracting HIV in the community causes discrimination and stigma to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) because people still consider HIV/AIDS taboo. Many of the sufferers struggle to reveal their HIV status to others, but they get negative results such as rejection, stigmatization and even discrimination which can be a high psychological burden. Stigma and discrimination against PLWHA are the main obstacles to achieving a good quality of life. Objectives: This study is intended to explore the in-depth experiences of people living with HIV/AIDS in surviving life. Methods: This research is a phenomenological case study. The sample in this study amounted to three people who were recruited from Healthy Loving Care Foundation Semarang City. The sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique according to the inclusion criteria, that is age 20 and 50 years, diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, conscious, cooperative, not experiencing cognitive, hearing and speech disorders, willing to participate in the study by signing the informed consent. The data was collected by in-depth online interviews and then recorded in transcripts and analyzed using Amedeo Giorgi's data analysis technique. Results: This study showed that participants experience adversity due to HIV/AIDS but the participants get out of their slump by accepting their illness, taking treatment, finding a support system and becoming a positive people. The participants also in living their lives keep their illness a secret to survive so as not to experience bad stigma or discrimination. The results of this study reveal one main theme, Experiences of People living with HIV in Surviving life. Conclusion: This study found the support received by participants and the response of participants to their condition as an effort to survive their lives.

Abstract

Background: Undergraduate nursing students have experience high levels of anxiety caused by academic, clinical practice and final assignments. This anxiety results in a decrease in students’ intellectual abilities and the risk of experiencing academic failures. Mindfulness is an effective intervention for reducing anxiety. Objectives: This scoping review aims to determine the kind of mindfulness interventions to reduce anxiety in undergraduate nursing students. Design: This study used a scoping review through a review of articles the kind of mindfulness interventions to reduce anxiety in undergraduate nursing students. Data Sources: Search for articles accessed through a database, including: Science Direct, Scopus, Semantic Scholar, ProQuest and SpringerLink with a range of search years 2017 to 2021. The search for articles uses the boolean method of the “OR/AND” operator. The keywords used in the article search were “Mindfulness” AND “Anxiety” AND “Undergraduate”, AND “Nursing” OR “Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy” OR “Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction” OR “Mindfulness Based”. Review Methods: This article uses Arksey and O'Melley's model in the analysis. Identification and analysis using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis for Scooping Review (PRISMA-SR). Results: The result of this literature review show contains 5 quantitative articles. This article summarizes the kind of mindfulness interventions used to reduce anxiety in nursing students are mindfulness based cognitive therapy, mindfulness meditation, virtual community mindfulness, mindfulness through smartphones, and spiritual mindfulness. Mindfulness intervention provides serenity, focus on the situation with full awareness, acceptance, improvement in physical health, psychological, empathy, and well-being. The mindfulness was carried out 6 times in a series of interventions. The stages of mindfulness interventions vary widely, but the point is to focus attention and acceptance with awareness. Conclusion: The kind of mindfulness interventions used to reduce anxiety in nursing students including: mindfulness based cognitive therapy, mindfulness meditation, virtual community mindfulness, mindfulness spiritual Islam and acceptance, and spiritual mindfulness.

Abstract

Cyberbullying has became a world concern, because many countries in the world has experienced about cyberbullying including Indonesia especially Ambon City. Cyberbullying is very important to overcome, because cyberbullying has a very serious impact on adolescent, such as depression and suicide. This study to explore the psychological response of adolescents as a cyberbullying victims is very limited. This research is a qualitative with an interpretative phenomenology design. The sample in this study were 3 adolescence of Ambon City as informants, and has inclusion criteria such as age 10-19 years, use social media, have both Ambonese parents,and also well communicate. This study has used purposive sampling for sampling, and data collection has used indepth interview. Processing and data analysis has used Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The results obtained 3 themes that describe psyvhologycal response of adolescence as a cyberbullying victims, the three theme are shame, hurt, and hopelessness. Adolescent experience as cyberbullying has affect the mood and made adolescent not enthusiastic in living life. Prevention programs in every levels of nursing need to be carried out in to preventing adolescent cyberbullying, and also to handling the impact that occurs on adolescent cyberbullying victims.

Abstract

Fenomena bullying yang dialami oleh remaja begitu mengkhawatirkan dengan berbagai dampak buruk yang dapat dialami oleh remaja korban bullying. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran resiliensi remaja putri korban bullying. Penelitian ini menggunakan cross-sectional design dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Purposive sampling digunakan untuk teknik pengambilan data dan diperoleh 329 remaja putri korban bullying pada dua sekolah di Semarang sebagi responden penelitian. Kuesioner Adolescent Resilience Scale (ARS) digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat resiliensi. Data analisis disajikan dalam bentuk frekuensi dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menujukkan 48,93% responden mempunyai tingkat resiliensi tinggi; 41,34% kategori sedang dan 9,73% kategori rendah. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, kebutuhan partnership antara perawat dengan sekolah dan orang tua perlu ditingkatkan sehingga intervensi anti-bullying yang bersifat holistic mampu menekan dampak negatif dari bullying melalui peningkatan resiliensi korban bullying. This study aimed to describe the resilience level of female adolescence who experienced as bullying victim. A crossectional design and descriptive approach were selected. About 329 female adolescence who experienced as bullied at some high school at Semarang city, Indonesia were recruited as respondent using purposive sampling technique. The Adolescence Resilience Scale was used to measure the resilience levels. Results showed that 48.93% respondent reached the high level of resilience; 41.34% respondents the middle; and only 9.73% respondents had the lower of resilience. Therefore, partnership between school nurses, school personnel, and parents are necessary to develop the anti-bullying program as holistic interventions; hence it can depress the negative impact of bullying by increasing the bullying victim’s resilience.

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Data Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia menunjukkan bahwa penyebab kematian kedua setelah serangan jantung adalah penyakit stroke. Stroke memiliki dampak terhadap aspek sosioekonomi akibat disabilitas yang diakibatkannya. Deteksi dini faktor risiko dan promosi hidup sehat sejak usia dini diperlukan untuk memperkecil kejadian faktor risiko dan stroke. Upaya penanggulangan ini dapat dilakukan dengan pemberdayaan masyarakat yaitu melalui kader dan keluarga melalui home visit dan support group. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan home visit dan support group guna meningkatkan pengetahuan lansia dengan stroke, lansia dengan faktor risiko stroke, keluarga lansia penderita stroke, kader dalam penatalaksanaan dan pecegahan stroke, serta stroke berulang pada lansia dengan faktor risiko. Metode yang digunakan dalam program ini meliputi pelatihan dengan metode ceramah dan praktik deteksi dini faktor risiko stroke serta  implementasi home visit dan support group. Hasil program ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan pada klien stroke sebesar 50%, lansia dengan faktor risiko stroke dan keluarga lansia penderita stroke sebesar 45%, dan kader dalam penatalaksanaan dan pecegahan stroke serta stroke berulang pada lansia dengan faktor risiko sebesar 40%. Dengan demikian home visit dan support group dapat menjadi alternatif intervensi dalam penatalaksanaan dan pecegahan stroke pada lansia dengan faktor risiko Kata Kunci: home visit, lansia, stroke, support group [English]: The data of Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia shows that the second cause of death after heart attack is stroke. Stroke has an impact on the socioeconomic aspect due to the disability it causes. Early detection of risk factors and promotion of healthy living from an early age need to be done in order to minimize the incidence of risk factors and stroke. This prevention effort can be done by empowering the community through cadres and families by doing home visits and support groups. This community service program aims to conduct home visits and support groups for increasing the knowledge of stroke’s client, elderly with risk of stroke, families of stroke’s client and cadres in the management and prevention of stroke and recurrent stroke in the elderly with risk factors. The method employed in this program was a training with lecturing approach, early detection of stroke risk factor and implementation of home visits and support groups. The results showed the participants’ increasing knowledge of stroke client was 50%, elderly with risk of stroke and families of stroke’s clients was 45%, and cadres in the management and prevention of stroke and recurrent stroke in the elderly with risk factors was 40%. Therefore, home visits and support groups can be alternative interventions in the management and prevention of stroke and recurrent stroke in the elderly with risk factors. Abstract

Pembangunan di bidang kesehatan, diupayakan melalui Program Indonesia Sehat dengan Pendekatan Keluarga (PIS PK), yang diaplikasikan dalam kegiatan perawatan kesehatan masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengidentifiaksi pelaksanaan perawatan kesehatan masyarakat yang bersinergi terhadap PIS PK. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan metode mixed method. Penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional, menggunakan sampel sebesar 110 dan diambil secara cluster sampling. Instrumen menggunakan format pelaksanaan perkesmas yang terdiri dari kunjungan untuk pendataan, promosi kesehatan, dan tindak lanjut.  Penelitian kualitatif untuk memperoleh gambaran pelaksanaan PIS PK yang diintegrasikan dengan perawatan kesehatan masyarakat, melalui Focus Group Discussion. Partisipan adalah masyarakat (kader), staf puskesmas, dan staf dinas kesehatan. Pelaksanaan kunjungan rumah oleh petugas kesehatan (puskesmas) yang paling banyak menunjukkan 65.5% keluarga pernah dikunjungi. Kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh petugas kesehatan saat kunjungan rumah meliputi: pendataan keluarga 32.7%, pemeriksaan kesehatan 40%, penyuluhan kesehatan 10.9%, pemberantasan sarang nyamuk 17 15.5%, dan kesehatan ibu anak 2 1.8%. Kegiatan tindak lanjut terhadap kunjungan rumah yang sudah dilakukan lebih banyak tidak dilakukan 69.1%.Hasil FGD dengan kader didapatkan 4 tema: kegiatan perawatan kesehatan masyarakat oleh puskemas, peran kader kesehatan dalam perawatan kesehatan masyarakat, masalah dalam pelaksanaan perawatan kesehatan masyarakat, harapan terhadapan pelayanan kesehatan di masyarakat. Pelaksanaan perkesmas dalam rangka PIS PK, berdasarkan hasil FGD dengan pelaksana perkesmas di puskesmas dan staf bidang pelayanan kesehatan Dinas Kesehatan Kota Semarang didapatkan 2 tema: pelaksanaan perawatan kesehatan masyarakat dalam rangka PIS PK dan kendala pelaksanaan perkesmas dalam rangka PIS PK. Diperlukan evaluasi bersama pelaksanaan PIS PK antara pelaksana dan penanggung jawab program PIS PK agar indikator keberhasilan PIS PK dapat tercapai maksimal. Kata kunci: Pelaksanaan perkesmas, program Indonesia sehat dengan pendekatan keluarga Abstract The Implementation Community Health Care of The Healthy Indonesia Program With The Family Approach. Development in the health sector, is pursued through the Healthy Indonesia Program with the Family Approach, which is applied in community health care activities. The research objective was to identify the implementation of community health care that synergizes with Healthy Indonesia Program. The research design uses the mixed method. Quantitative research with cross sectional design, using a sample of 110 and taken by cluster sampling. The instrument uses the format of the implementation of the social security program consisting of visits for data collection, health promotion, and follow-up. Qualitative research to obtain an overview of the implementation of Healthy Indonesia Program integrated with community health care, through a Focus Group Discussion. Participants are the community (cadres), puskesmas staff, and health service staff. Conducting home visits by health workers which showed the most 65.5% of families had been visited. Activities undertaken by health workers during home visits included: family data collection 32.7%, health checks 40%, health education 10.9%, eradication of mosquito nests 17 15.5%, and maternal health of children 2 1.8%. More follow-up activities on home visits were not carried out 69.1%. FGD results with cadres found 4 themes: community health care activities by the health center, the role of health cadres in community health care, problems in the implementation of public health care, expectations towards health services in society. The implementation of community health care in the framework of program, based on the results of the FGD with the implementation of community health care in the health center and the health service staff in the Semarang City Health Office, obtained two themes: the implementation of community health care in the framework of the program and the constraints in implementing the community health care in the framework of the program. A joint evaluation of the program implementation is needed between the implementer and the person responsible for the program so that the indicators can be achieved optimally. Keywords: Implementation of community health care, healthy Indonesia program with family approach

Abstract

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic is a disease globally that affects acute ischemic stroke patient ability to survive from adversity. Self-management is needed to determine the readiness of patients with ischemic stroke acute to recover from physical weakness during the pandemic COVID-19. Objective: To describe the case of resilience in conveying the readiness for enhancing of self-health management patient ischemic stroke acute during the pandemic COVID-19. Clinical observation: An evaluation was about readiness to accept health management during the pandemic COVID-19 in patients with stroke ischemic acute. The important things to readiness of health management: self-acceptance, family support, and self-exercise at home. Interventions: Focused on health education to do self-exercise during the pandemic COVID-19 to recover them due to limb weakness. Conclusion: Outcome criteria showed that there was increasing in exercise to reduce the risk factor, implementation of a self-care program, and life activity more effectively to fulfill health goal increase.
