Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a condition where the body fails to maintain metabolism and fluid and electrolyte balance to cause uremia. Chronic Kidney Disease requires renal replacement therapy in the form of dialysis and kidney transplantation. The aim of this study is to prove the relationship the ureum level value with Restless Legs Syndrome in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients. Long-term hemodialysis and uremia can cause various neurological complications such as Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). The instrument used in this research measured the severity RLS using The International Restless Legs Syndrome Questioner. This study is a correlation analysis using a cross sectional study design with a sampling technique that is purposive sampling of 16 hemodialysis patients. Data were analyzed using pearson correlation test. The results showed that there was a correlation between urea level and severity of Restless Legs Syndrome in Chronic Kidney Disease patients with p value (0,028). There is a need for training and monitoring of urea levels in an effort to improve the severity of RLS.

Abstract

Uncontrolled hypertension causes heart attacks, Cardiomegali, Heart Failure, Stroke, Kidney Failure, Blindness, and Cognitive Impairment. It requires proper strategy to maintain blood pressure in patients with hypertension called self management which consist of medication compliance, normal weight maintanance, low sodium consumption, physical activity, alcohol restriction and smoking cessation.. This research aimed to explore a deep understanding about the experience of Hypertension patients in carrying out self management. This research used qualitative method with descriptive phenomenology. Four people are selected by puposive sampling technique. Technique of data collection in this research with in-depth interviews. The data finding of this research were analyzed using Collaizi's method. The finding of data analyze is found eight theme: (1) the response to the disease suffered high blood pressure (2) first experience of hypertension (3) controlling (4) to cope with drug (5) maintain the health of the body (6) dietary changes (7) not smoking and drinking alcohol(8 ) family support. In this research, This research sugested the healthcare provider to contribute to improve information and knowledge of hypertension patients related to self management such as light exercise activities at home, salt consumption controlling, dietary recommendation and dietary restriction.

Abstract

Using modern wound care dressings began to flourish in Indonesia. The change can be seen from the previous majority of caregivers believe the best make up wound healing environment remains dry wound began to turn into wound care with moisture balance method. This activity aims to share knowledge with the nurses in Surgical department Dr. M. Djamil Hospital Padang on the basis of modern wound care and everyday applications. This activity lasted for one day in the form of seminars and workshops attended by 60 people a surgical nurse. Materials provided not only on the basis of modern wound care, but also about the hospital regulation and health insurance (BPJS) regulations governing the use of the dressing method. Discussion and demontsrasi method used, so that nurses can better understand about modern wound care applications. In the future, need to be arranged procedural clear and an agreement from the medical and hospital pharmacy to use this method in treating injured patients, so the quality of service can be better.
