Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many crises in various parts of the world, including in Indonesia itself. The various crises caused by the pandemic include social restrictions, changes in the education system, many individuals who have lost their jobs, and the most severe is the number of deaths. This article uses a systematic literature review method using 10 articles consisting of 2 articles obtained through the Science Direct site (sciencedirect.com), 4 articles obtained through the SAGE site (journals.sagepub.com), 4 articles obtained through the ResearchGate site (researchgate.net). This article wants to see how the process experienced by individuals who are grieving as a result of the loss of a loved one during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of the literature review show that the process of grief experienced by individuals during the COVID-19 period has become more complex and longer. This mourning process is caused by two things, namely the limitation of social interaction that makes individuals have to go through the mourning process without physical or emotional support from relatives and the limited implementation of the funeral process which creates special pressure for individuals who are left behind because they cannot pay their last respects to loved ones who have passed away.

Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of negative impacts for Healthcare Workers, one of the most essential roles in dealing with COVID-19 patients. One of the impacts is Healthcare Workers get negative stigmatization from the society. The stigma has impacts on Healthcare Workers’ mental health during the COVID-19 patient care. The purpose of this systematic literature review is to illustrate the impacts of stigma on COVID-19 Healthcare Workers’ mental health. Three scientific articles were found from three international journal databases, namely Google Scholar, Proquest and Sage, and also used in this systematic literature review, based on the suitability of the topic. Rigorous eligibility review was done using PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses) protocol. It can be inferred that there are several forms of impacts of stigma on Healthcare Workers’ mental health such as fatigue; stigma fear; anxiety; depression; trauma; burnout; the decrease of job satisfaction, psychological wellbeing, quality of life and coping function; feelings of being isolated and alienation; hesitating to ask for someone’s help; and the increase of alcohol use. This article can be used as a reference for future research related to the impact of stigma on COVID-19 Healthcare Workers’ mental health.

Abstract

Fathers are the primary provider of support for the family and are crucial to the child's successful development, therefore it is crucial that they are involved. This research aims to explore factors of father involvement in young children with disabilities. Articles in this research were searched through the ScienceDirect, Scopus, Proquest and Web of Science databases. After that it was reviewed using the PRISMA-ScR procedure. This research used six journal articles which were included based on exclusion and inclusion criteria and used the metasynthesis method. The results of comprehensive findings of father involvement factors: mother factors, father factors, contextual variables, parent-child relationships and child factors. The conclusion is that the relationship between father involvement and caring for early childhood children with disabilities are two things that cannot be ignored. Future research could use the context of father involvement as a diverse construct.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the role of the duration of dating on anxiety and commitment in early adulthood. The study involved 172 early adults (aged 20-30 years) who are currently in romantic relationships, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments included the anxiety scale and commitment scale, based on previous theoretical aspects. Data analysis was conducted using Two Way ANOVA with JAMOVI software to examine the role of the duration of dating on anxiety and commitment. The results of the study showed that there was no significant role of the duration of dating on anxiety and commitment. The study also examined the relationship between the duration of dating and several demographic variables such as gender, occupation, and long-distance relationship (LDR), but no significant effects were found. Therefore, it can be concluded that the duration of dating, whether long or short, does not play a role in the anxiety and commitment of couples in maintaining romantic relationships at a more serious level, such as marriage. The duration of dating was found to be unable to predict anxiety and commitment in relationships. Other variables related to dating, such as relationship quality, satisfaction, and personal factors, are considered to be more involved in predicting anxiety and commitment in dating relationships. This study has practical implications as a reference in premarital counseling and couples therapy to understand the dynamics of romantic dating relationships in individuals.

Abstract

The common causes (CC) approach is popular in psychopathology research, but nowadays, some experts consider this approach unfit to explain mental disorders. On the other hand, as a new approach, the network approach (NA) claims can provide a better explanation for understanding mental disorders. This study aims to determine the differences between NA and CC approach in psychopathology research. This research is a scoping review study using twelve articles. We searched for articles September-December 2020 in the Scopus and Science Direct databases. The results of the analysis of these articles show a fundamental difference between the two perspectives. The difference lies in the perspective of mental disorders, how to measure symptoms of mental disorders, treatment of mental disorders, and views on comorbidities. Each approach has advantages, although some articles support that NA is the better approach to studying mental disorders. To decide which approach is appropriate for psychopathology research, researchers should adapt it to the research objectives. Perspectives on psychopathology will determine how to answer the research questions and analyze the data.

Abstract

Adaptation of psychological instruments is very important because of differences in culture and context. This study aims to adapt the Interpersonal Support Evaluation List (ISEL-12) in an Indonesian context. Initial steps include back-to-back translation, focus group discussions, expert assessments, and pilot studies. From this procedure, the number of items obtained is 12 which is the original ISEL-12 version, there are five revised items according to the context of cultural groups and parenting activities of mothers with children of early child age (3-6 years). The twelve final questions were tested on 533 mothers with an average age of 34.5 years from several regions in Indonesia. Construct validity tests are performed using EFA and CFA. The analysis showed good validity and reliability (Cronbach's alpha: 0.920) and item loading factors ranging from 0.398-0.816 by showing that the three-factor model was suitable, with values based on RMSEA=0.079, CFI=0.923, TLI=0.911 and GFI=0.918. The conclusion is that ISEL-Ind also has 3 aspects in forming social support for mothers who have children in early childhood, namely, tangible support, belonging support and appraisal support. Abstract

ABSTRAK Indonesia rentan terhadap bencana alam namun memiliki tingkat kesiapsiagaan bencana yang cenderung rendah. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkannya adalah melalui edukasi, namun program-program yang dilakukan selama ini masih sangat terbatas. Anak-anak termasuk dalam kelompok rentan pada bencana alam sehingga dibutuhkan upaya peningkatan kesiapsiagaan bencana sejak dini, salah satunya melalui permainan edukatif yang terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan pada anak-anak. Program ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan mitigasi bencana pada siswa sekolah dasar di desa Pagerluyung dengan permainan ular tangga pengurangan risiko bencana (Rangga-Erina). Program edukasi dilakukan secara luring pada tanggal 30 September 2023 dengan pemberian permainan ular tangga pada siswa dan siswi kelas 4, 5, dan 6 SDN 02 Pagerluyung. Selain itu, keterlibatan guru diharapkan dapat mengedukasi siswa lainnya terkait kesiapsiagaan bencana. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 32 siswa dan guru kelas SDN Pagerluyung 2, Mojokerto. Di bagian evaluasi 87,5% siswa menyatakan sangat setuju bahwa tampilan Rangga-Erina menarik; 68,7% menyatakan sangat setuju dan 31,25% menyatakan setuju bahwa bahasanya mudah dipahami; 81,25% siswa menyatakan sangat setuju dan 18,75% menyatakan setuju bahwa Rangga-Erina menyenangkan untuk dimainkan. Melalui kegiatan ini, terlihat bahwa permainan ular tangga edukasi risiko bencana (Rangga-Erina) dapat mendorong siswa untuk belajar tentang mitigasi bencana dengan menyenangkan, materi mudah dipahami, dan menarik secara visual. Kata Kunci: Mitigasi Bencana, Kesiapsiagaan Bencana, Permainan Edukatif  ABSTRACT Indonesia is vulnerable to natural disasters but has a low level of disaster preparedness. Education is needed to improve this, but the educational programs so far are still very limited. Children are vulnerable to natural disasters, so efforts are needed to increase disaster preparedness from an early age. Educational games are a proven effective method for increasing children's knowledge. Therefore, the disaster risk reduction snakes and ladders game (Rangga-Erina) is designed to introduce disaster mitigation to elementary school pupils in Pagerluyung village. This program aims to educate elementary school pupils in Pagerluyung village about disaster mitigation by using a snakes and ladders game to minimize the potential harm caused by disasters. The educational program was conducted offline on September 30 2023, by providing a game of snakes and ladders (Rangga-Erina) to elementary school pupils in grades 4, 5 and 6 at SDN 02 Pagerluyung. Teachers were also involved in educating other students regarding disaster preparedness. The activity was attended by 32 pupils at SDN Pagerluyung 2, Mojokerto, and teachers. The questionnaire result showed that 87.5% of pupils strongly agreed that Rangga-Erina's appearance was attractive; 68.7% strongly agreed and 31.25% agreed that the language was easy to understand; 81.25% of students strongly agreed and 18.75% agreed that Rangga-Erina was fun to play. It can be conclude that the disaster risk educational snakes and ladders game (Rangga-Erina) can encourage pupils to learn about disaster mitigation in a fun, easy-to-understand and visually interesting way. Keywords: Disaster Mitigation, Disaster Preparedness, Educational Games

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan untuk melihat bagaimana pengaruh dari kontrol diri terhadap kekerasan dalam hubungan pacaran pada pelaku kekerasan. Kontrol diri merupakan kemampuan untuk mengatur emosi, impuls, dan perilaku agar sesuai dengan nilai dan tujuan yang diinginkan. Oleh karena itu, hal tersebut memiliki kaitan dengan pelaku tindakan kekerasan dalam hubungan pacaran. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif melalui data survei pada individu yang masuk kedalam kategori pelaku kekerasan dalam hubungan pacaran dengan jumlah responden yaitu 118 orang. Survei dilakukan melalui kuesioner yang disebar secara daring dengan menggunakan Self-Control Scale dan Conflict in Adolescent Dating Relationships Inventory. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan SPSS Versi 29.0.0. serta menggunakan Teknik analisis regresi linear sederhana. Dari hasil analisis data, didapatkan kontrol diri memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan untuk menurunkan variabel kekerasan dalam pacaran—Nilai signifikansi (sig) variabel kontrol diri sebesar 0,000 lebih kecil dari α (0,05). Diperoleh juga hasil bahwa kontrol diri memiliki pengaruh sebesar 43,3% terhadap tindakan kekerasan dalam pacaran karena nilai R square yang diperoleh adalah 0,433.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguji efektivitas Positive Psychotherapy Group dalam meningkatkan konsep diri positif pada remaja perempuan yang kehilangan figur ayah akibat perceraian. Penelitian menggunakan desain pretest-posttest control group dengan 8 partisipan (Musia = 14,25 tahun) dari populasi 37 remaja yang memiliki konsep diri negatif. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan Tennessee Self Concept Scale-2 (TSCS) yang diadaptasi oleh Mochtan (2019). Hasil paired sample t-test menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen sebelum dan sesudah intervensi (p = 0.048 < 0.05), sementara kelompok kontrol tidak menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (p = 0.67 > 0.05). Uji efektivitas menunjukkan effect size sebesar 1.37 (> 0.8), mengindikasikan efek besar dalam peningkatan konsep diri. Kesimpulannya, Positive Psychotherapy Group adalah intervensi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan konsep diri positif pada remaja perempuan yang kehilangan figur ayah akibat perceraian.

Abstract

Child abuse has profound consequences for survivors. It increases the the risk of brain disorder, emotional regulation, self-adjustment, learning, and memory disorders, and is correlated with anti-social interactions and violent behavior in adulthood. This research aims to understand how individuals who have experienced child maltreatment, committed a violent crime once they became an adult. A narrative method was used in this study. By illuminating how early-life victimization could shape the life of an individual, we hope to shed light and eventually prevent survivors of child maltreatment down a path of violence. Three violent offenders were the subjects of this study. Data collection methods in the form of semi-structured interviews and non-human sources of information were carried out on three perpetrators of criminal acts of murder and abuse which resulted in death. The results in this study were analyzed using thematic analysis in chronological order. It was revealed that there are several risk factors in the series of cases of criminal acts. Intergenerational transmission of multiple risk factors and the use of illegal drugs are the main causes of aggressive behavior and criminal acts.
